Southdown Coffee Oyster Bay Reviews
Coffee is superbly strong. Great sandwiches and bakery items. Avocado, pesto, grilled cheese sandwich is exceptional. Olive oil cake a favorite. Sally, Melissa, Shannon, et al, very friendly and helpful. Nice, cozy atmosphere. Worth a trip.
It’s always a good time in Southdown. It’s one of the few places that has very limited Internet access, so it encourages more of a social environment. It’s good to get away from the screen time. The coffee is excellent, and the food is really good. No complaints here!
Cute little coffee shop in a cute little area. Coffee was great. Service was quick and friendly. Nice vibe in this place. Will be back when I'm in town....
Very cozy coffee shop, aesthetic looking, good quality stuff. Got a cappuccino and iced matcha with avocado pesto toast, they were good. The aroma of the coffee brewing and water food they cook is really good. It can be kinda pricy tho’, keep that in mind but I think it’s worth it once in a while.
A cute and classic cafe in a quaint seaside town. It’s the right blend of modern and modest, crisp and clean, and extremely welcoming. It’s a somewhat small U-shaped shop, with one booth and a long bench with four small tables and extra chairs, so seating is a little limited. Takeout is great, but its worth waiting for a seat to enjoy the ambiance and solid background music. They have a great selection of teas on top of the usual coffee choices. There’s also a little retail section with bottled drinks and bagged foods, in addition to the freshly made food choices and baked goods. I’m a huge chocolate chip cookie guy, and theirs is exactly my favorite kind. They just pulled a batch from the oven, and it was perfectly crispy on the outside, and chewy and melty on the inside. Definitely coming back just for that. The staff is extremely friendly, always quick to refill hot water and give suggestions. They also have flyers for local events on the window, so it’s a nice neighborhood hub. Check it out and enjoy the treats!
Great coffee and avocado toast! Nice dairy free substitute milks. I got a coffee and bite to eat here with a friend and we brought it outside and sat on a bench and had a fantastic time. I remember thinking to myself that I have to come back for more again soon! For that reason, 5 stars because we will be back :)! For more Long Island reviews, visit us on ig@andiamoadventure
Great Coffee. I stopped into Southdown after visiting the Town of Oyster Bay offices. The TOB was a bust but the coffee stop was not. They are right across the street. The staff is very open and friendly. They helped me select a bag of coffee to bring home as well. They explained all the different types. I selected an Etheopian coffee, felt like I should support Etheopia. Glad I did, they even grinded it for me. I will stop back and keep a look out for your coffee. Thank you.
Super friendly! I had an iced latte which was perfectly sweet. My sister had a chai latte (pictured). The inside is very cute with a few tables (we were able to grab the booth which was wonderful). The drinks came out very quickly and they also have some food options. The bathroom was very clean. We were able to park right in front which was convenient
Southdown Coffee is a recommendation from my friends who are extremely addicted to coffee. They took the 3rd place of 2019 US Roastery Championship. The decor is bright, simple and cozy with plants and wooden furniture. It's a perfect place for an afternoon coffee. There is a great variety of coffee bean options and we had a hard time to make our decisions. The staff was friendly and patient to introduce all the beans based on what our preferences. We bought Sure Shot, PRIMAVERA & Red 5 de DICIEMBRE, 1 pack of each and one cup of latte. The latte was so smooth, refreshing and flavorful. They also serve pastries, breakfast and lunch. We had 2 scones, blueberry and cheese, to go. It was delicious with great portion but kind of dry.
Dirty tables, full bus buckets, disheveled milk and sugar bar. Girl at register was new, so I get that she didn’t know what breve is, so when she asked someone else I didn’t pay any mind. Then I was given a burnt-tasting americano and was told the half and half was “over there” with a dismissive gesture. Then the scone I bought disintegrated as I ate it. I ended up with a bag full of crumbs and mild disappointment.
I never post about places, I usually just move on to the next BUT, this was a terrible experience from the beginning. As soon as we walked in the vibe was terrible, the workers didn’t seem to even want to help us. Simple questions turned into sly comments to other co workers. Definitely not welcoming, I will not be back.
