Happy Sushi Palm Springs Reviews
Great prices and great sushi. excellent customer service. i always come here when in PS. a must for sushi lovers. Whwnever in PS, you have to come and enjoy their delicious food. The matcha tea is delicious. The waiters are very friendly and the food is served fast. This sushi place does not dissapoint. The chicken teriyaki sauce is very good
This place gets an extra star for requiring proof of vaccination before you can dine inside. I hope more and more businesses will do this. On to the food: I had the spicy garlic edamame, a unique way to serve this common Japanese restaurant snack. Also had the salmon poke (not pictured) and it was the perfect balance of umami. The staff was great as well.
The food was great and service was spot on, staff was nice. Sushi delicious and the Ramen amazing
Fantastic little spot in Palm Springs. Phenomenally fresh and delicious Sushi. I'm a regular now.
Great food and friendly staff! We had a wonderful experience.
Had a bite here while doing some work. Fresh, tasty, prompt, great location.
Yayyy i like the food there and drinks 👍👍👍 like it was so good!!! I give it a 6.7 review and a 27.63 good place!! Those ppl who r saying rude stuff is wrong because this place is so nice and cool🫶🫶🫶
We ate every bit of our food. It was delicious and fresh. The server was a gracious woman who was quick and accurate. The other employees were friendly and welcoming. The bathroom was clean. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely go here again. Yum!
Great oysters, tasty hot tempura rolls, very fast and perfect location! We will be back 💓
Happy sushi hands down has the best Tonkatsu Ramen in Palm Springs. The broth was rich, noodle texture was great, pork was on point, and the egg was delicious. Overall amazing Ramen and basically in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. I’m excited to have discovered this Ramen I can’t believe I’ve been missing out of this place.
Ordered 2 beers and 2 poke bowls. I'm use to poke bowls having more than just fish and rice/sauce. That's said, it had a decent amount of fish and was $16. Service was friendly and fast. Clean. Had a decent view of strip. Worth then visit.
Happy Sushi is right in the middle of downtown Palm Springs tourist hell, so I wasn't expecting it to be all that great. But I was very surprised! All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The sushi was fresh and prepared very nicely. Prices I'd say are average for sushi, maybe a bit higher due to the tourist location, but being a local I'll be going back to Happy Sushi! Very pleased!
We flew into Palm Springs for a quick weekend getaway and were craving sushi as soon as we landed. Downtown PS was lively but a bit chaotic, so finding Happy Sushi was like a breath of fresh air. This spot is a true hidden gem! High-quality, fresh, and flavorful rolls. The vibe here is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for enjoying great food. Mitch and the team went above and beyond with their friendly service. They even ran my coat out to the car when I accidentally left it behind! The food was so good we couldn’t resist coming back for a second visit before we left town. If you’re looking for top-notch sushi, great prices, and a down-to-earth atmosphere in Palm Springs, you’ve got to check this place out. 10/10 recommend!
The fish was so fresh and high quality and beautifully presented! Was able to find my favorite beer from Okinawa here. Will definitely be coming back to enjoy everything else on the menu!
Happy Sushi is a great place to enjoy both indoor and outdoor dining. Spoiler alert: it’s amazing and you’ll want to try everything on the menu. It’s nicely located in the main area of downtown Palm Springs. There is plenty of parking. You’ll need sometime to enjoy the dining here and you’ll enjoy all the tastes offered. We tried pot stickers, beef bulgogi, salad and some sushi. All were amazing in flavors and presented very nicely. The food was matched by its excellent customer service and friendly staff. Happy Sushi can get busy or it can offer seating without a wait. I highly recommend Happy Sushi.
Great flavors!!! This place has great tasting sushi at affordable prices. My children like sushi but really loved the sushi here. Again the prices are affordable and you can feed your family , even if you're on a budget!!! Nice people, welcoming environment, yummy food. Family friendly. We'll be back 😃
Brought the whole family for the first time. Food was beautiful and delicious. Prices were reasonable and competitive. Will be returning again. Update: Returned again with family. Seemed like prices went up, food was still delicious.
Very much enjoyed the sushi here. So tasty and great service. If I didn’t live in the uk I would eat here ALOT! Thank you 🙏
Awesome sushi! Loved the Fire Cracker Roll! The shrimp tempura and spicy tuna are so delicious and the spicy mayo (and added extra eel sauce) really topped it off great. The Chicken Gyoza was nice an crispy on the outside and moist chicken on the inside. Great dish to share. I tried a little of the Assorted Tempura (shrimp & veggies), also a hit!! The service here was fantastic and friendly! The ambiance is nice, casual and clean. Can't wait to come back to try more of their tasty looking dishes!! 👍😁👍
Excellent place to go and get some sushi. Neat and relaxing environment. Friendly employees, and the food simply flavorful. Food takes a bit of time to get to your table. I wish their menu had more dishes to try, but overall, the experience in there was good.

1st time at this place. Visited while we were on vacation in Palm Desert. I was surprised at the amazingly fresh fare. It tasted like we were seaside instead of being in the middle of a desert. Great tasting sushi. One bit of criticism, I ordered the Hatari Pork bun and was very dry despite the generous amount of sauce. But all in all a surprise considering it was in a tourist trap location. It outperformed its surroundings.
Happy Sushi was a solid spot with good food and a nice atmosphere, but it didn’t completely blow me away, especially for the price. The sushi was fresh and well-prepared, and the menu had a good variety, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. Service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. It’s definitely a good option if you’re craving sushi in the area, but for the cost, I was expecting just a little more. Still, it was an enjoyable meal, and I’d give it a solid 4 stars.
First! The food was very very good I'm a VERY BIG Sushi fan, I could eat 100 pieces if I wanted to. The service was okay the lady there was very nice but there's a guy there that's very spacey and kinda awkward but it's okay! They were all nice though. Atmosphere! The art, The music, The adorable decor it was all just so beautiful and very cute. I 100% suggest going here but the reason I gave it a 4Star is because the cups smelt like bleach and I didn't feel comfortable drinking out of a cup that smells like a chemical... 🥲
This little sushi bar is located in downtown Palm Springs close to the Marilyn Monroe statue. The people who work here are amazing. I was traveling alone and ate at the bar. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. The sushi was good, but not as traditional as I like—they used a little too much mayo for my taste. I had a spicy tuna roll (my go to) and edamame, which was tasty. The service and atmosphere was great.

The food was ok. Service was ok. Everyone was nice but took 15 mins to get water filled and heard the table next to us was longer for their drink they ordered when they had sat down. They were pretty much almost done eating when they had to remind them to bring the drinks again. Probably wouldn't return.
From a critical standpoint: 1) The shrimp tempura was under-fried, so it was doughy on the inside and didn't have that satisfying crunch it usually does. 2) The shoyu ramen's egg was overcooked and the pork was cut very strangely and was void of flavor. The shoyu was also hardly shoyu, but was pretty good broth if I forget it's supposed to be shoyu. 3) The avocado in the avocado rolls was hard (probably not ripe). The presentation was cute, though. Service was okay. Essentially, this place is very Americanized Japanese cuisine, which is not my personal taste, but could be yours. I come from a heavily Japanese-populated city, so take this review with a grain of salt. *PSA FOR PARENTS BRINGING YOUNG CHILDREN: the music played in the background during our dinner contained explicit content (i.e. racial slurs, the f-word)*
We had dinner at happy sushi last week. The sushi was marginal. I expected it to be great like it was a year ago. Mitch was absent again, not sure if he still works there. I had a yellowtail hand roll and the fish looked old and didnt taste fresh. The tuna hand roll was ok. They only have keg beer now , no bottles. It was a disappointment and l hope they do better next time.
The staff there were very helpful and friendly. They could use more hands there. Basically one guy serving all the tables. Obviously there was a bit of a wait for anything. Roll pricing seems good when you look at the menu, but the rolls are relatively small.. There are a few good buys here, but you really need to try several items to find it.

One is the worst sushi places we have eaten at. The food was worse than super market sushi. We should just have gone to Ralph’s and picked up a few rolls. Do not eat here
Happy Sushi is a total misnomer. I have never been more sad. This is positively the WORST sushi I have ever had in my entire life. To start off with, we ordered the tempura "calamari". It was inedible. Incredibly chewy, I was unsure if I were just chomping on a fried plastic scrunchy or an actual food substance. Our sushi rolls arrived held together by sheer luck, because as soon as they hit the table or you tried to pick up a piece, it just fell apart. The fish was slimy and pale, one of the rolls was watery for some unknown reason. Save your money and just go get some premade rolls from the supermarket or gas station--it will far exceed the quality of Happy Sushi.
WARNING ‼️ I’ve been robbed in this place!!! I have great experience all over the world, and have seen many things but this happened to me for the first time. BE CAREFUL to bring a “large” party with you, because this people will charge you 20% of the check which is CRAZY bc YOU WON’T BE INFORMED about it at all!!! After all, they robbed extra $35 from the check (Large party& tax) Ridiculous

**AVOID** Owner refuses to take accountability for their mistake. I placed an order online and when I headed over to pickup they told me someone else had already claimed it. I showed them my online receipt saying it belonged to me and I wished to have it remade since it was their mistake. They said they were not responsible and that my food was taken by a door dasher with the same name. That is a lie, I asked the doordasher the name order and it wasnt similar to my name. I was only able to ask the DoorDasher for their name because the restaurant refused to remake my food and had me wait for the dasher to bring the food 30 mins after it was made because they realized they picked up the wrong order. Don't ever go her.
WARNING! Do not go on valentine day. I’m giving them a tiny bit of the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was too people BUT it was not organized I saw many people waiting for their orders to be taken or to receive their food. I felt ignored, there was multiple times the waiters would pass by and turn their backs towards us. Never once did anyone ask for ours drinks, spent 40 minutes sitting with the menus closed on the table, till we finally had someone come towards us and asked if our order was taken yet. We just left at that point. Will not be going back there.
I was the only person in the restaurant for at least 15 minutes until other tables came in and I still never received my food and other tables with Caucasian people receive their food before me. I was by myself a Hispanic woman. Fudge this place. I ate at Joyce's Sushi. Way better
Service was fine but the food here is really lacking. My kids got the ramen but it was a huge disappointment. Broth was only ok and it did not taste authentic at all. The rest of the food was also very below par.
This is the second time I've received rude service from the man boy child server.. so much for a happy sushi experience... I simply tryed to have a conversation with the man/boy.. ask him about his jewelry little did I know his jewelry was fake and he almost went ballistic on me for even asking about it!! Rude rude.. I can go have desert sushi anywhere else!!! Bye gurl ..
