Hard to find good, healthy options in Palmer and Wasilla. So grateful for Turkey Red since it opened years ago. One of my favorite restaurants! The fig chicken is chefs kiss😘

In the heart of old Palmer, where flavors entwine, A dish divine emerges, a feast for the eyes. Eggs Florentine, with poached yolks that brightly shine, Nestled on new potatoes, a savory surprise. With red peppers and onions, they dance on the plate, In crimson sauce, a vibrant embrace they find. Chef Ryan's creation, a culinary fate, Freshly grated Parmesan adds richness refined. Four and a half minutes, the eggs softly rest, Their golden centers beckon with promise and grace. Each bite is a symphony, a brunch lover's quest, A harmony of textures in this charming space. So gather your friends for this brunch-time delight, At Turkey Red's table, where taste takes flight. I always order Eggs Florentine if it is on the menu. Turkey Red's is the best I have ever had. The eggs were perched like a proud, deserving king and queen atop what I presume were Alaskan vegetables-- carrots and potatoes and onions. Delicious! I also bought some tea. I enjoy Love Potion-- does it "work" or is it just me ;-) I'll keep buying and drinking it. Cheers! If they have root cellar stew, order it. There is nothing better in all things culinary than Turkey Red's root cellar stew. I think they make it with the best cuts of beef, and the usual vegetables and a touch of cream.

Great food and great service! We've tried several dishes and all have been a hit. The only issue we've run into is when we went in between lunch and dinner times, they only had salads and appetizers available rather than full lunch or dinner options.

This place is a bit pricey but you will never be disappointed with the food. We've done breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and it is always good. Though with how popular it is and how busy it gets, you sometimes have to wait.

We stumbled across Turkey Red while spending the night in Palmer and wow, we're so lucky we did. We had baked Brie with walnuts and blueberries, the salmon and the rockfish specials, and a nice port to finish up the meal. Everything was delicious (the bread was exceptionally good), our server was very nice, and the food came out fast.

Turkey Red. You can’t go wrong. Food is always good! Service is great, sweets are delightful and the atmosphere is nice. Side note: However word of caution they do this hour ‘turnover ‘ thing from like 4-5, and you can only get appetizers- they are shifting into dinner service. I just happen to hit it twice now- apps are awesome, but I just wanted an early dinner.

As a foodie from Dallas, Texas who travels nationwide always in search of the best hidden gems, Turkey Red in Palmer is a clear winner! We stopped in for lunch and every single dish was outstanding. I started with the grilled polenta appetizer - absolutely amazing. For my main, I had the eggplant stew paired with steak. The portion was generous, the flavors were superb, and the steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender. I noticed another review mentioned the eggplant being sour, but as a true foodie I can say with confidence that’s simply the balsamic vinegar doing its job - perfectly balanced and intentional. It was delicious. For dessert, my friend and I shared the apple strudel and the Greek yogurt cheesecake. Both were breathtaking. Coming from Germany - the land of apple strudel - I can honestly say this was the real deal. Please don’t let any negative reviews sway you. Turkey Red cooks with only the freshest ingredients and from the heart. If you’re in Palmer, do yourself a favor and eat here - you will not be disappointed!

I had the best meal here, one of those that’s so good you can’t stop thinking about it!! It was a mushroom chicken dish. Highly recommend.

We had a delicious breakfast here so came back for dinner. Hubby had cauliflower soup and beef stew. Both excellent! My steak salad was simply delicious! Maybe best I’ve had and I get it a lot. Service was fast and friendly! Don’t miss this place in Palmer.

Wonderful food. The sandwiches are large and delicious and the soup seasoned to perfection. The hot tea choices are amazing and the baked goods are pretty as well as delicious. The staff is really busy but always friendly and helpful. Waited a bit for a table, but waiter came quickly.

Very nice restaurant. My waitress was super friendly and informative about the specials. I got the orange sesame salad with the cream and veggie rice soup and a lemon tart for dessert. Served with complementary bread. All very delicious! Although, my tart came with some blueberries, I didn't care for them. Everything came out to $23! Overall a calm and relaxing place to get a good bite to eat.

Our first visit to this local gem was a delightful surprise. Walking into the restaurant we could smell delicious things baking and cooking, and there was interesting photography and art on the walls. It was lunch time and a little busy but there was seating available. We were shown to a spot in a raised seating area that had a large front window. Overall it felt cozy and inviting. The menu had a lot of tempting options, and I ended up ordering the hot turkey sandwich. I'm someone who prefers oven roasted turkey rather than the deli slices but I forgot to ask our server about it, so when we got our food I was pleased that the sandwich featured generous slices which struck a perfect balance between both. It was layered with bacon and tasty pickled avocado on pillowy, herb-infused focaccia bread. A high quality sandwich - YUM. 😋 It came with a choice of a side so I selected the creamy butternut squash soup. Oh my goodness. It tasted like Autumn - velvety and warm with spices that evoked falling leaves and happiness. 🍁 The other sandwich we ordered was the lentil burger which was also tasty, fresh and flavorful and probably the best lentil burger I've ever tasted. 🍔 😋 Our experience was complimented by attentive, friendly service and properly steeped Earl Gray tea served with milk and honey. ☕ 🍯 A reasonably priced lunch for such a pleasant and yummy experience!

Server was so delightful and attentive, very accommodating and friendly. Ordered the seafood pasta and was delighted. One of the best things I've ever eaten, and they also took my rather low spice tolerance into account. It's a bit loud in there, but it's a busy restaurant in a small building, so I can't hold that against them. Go at ~4pm for quick service.

My friend new the owner and highly recommend this place. So, off we went. I forget the servers name, but she is an older gal with red hair and has been there for 9 years. She was so amazing. Great service, friendly, professional, and just all-around amazing. Always had a smile, and so did the other staff we interacted with. Sorry, I forgot to take pics of the food. I had the delicious veggie pizza, John and the steak, and shon had 2 different appitiserer (the 1st one on the list and the fried brea). Everyone said it was worth it and so yummy. John even talked to people coming in as we were leaving about how amazing the steak was. They even have a section to share free books with others. How amazing is that? I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be back. Go have yourself some amazing food around some amazing staff. Alex, you really have an amazing thing going here. Keep it up!!

Drove up from Wasilla last night and so glad I did. The Brie berry appetizer was delish. Tart and sweet plus cheese. So good. The Mediterranean salad reminded me of my time in Greece and the Salmon special was flavorful. The only recommendation would be to cook the salmon a bit less. Make sure you ask for it medium. It was pretty well done. Service was prompt and food was great overall.

Took a nice trip to Wasilla Alaska and when we were out fishing someone told us to try this restaurant. We went there smelling like fish but no one complained. Food was great, good atmosphere and server was excellent. Gave 4 stars only because they did not have regular soda to drink but it is a must try if you are in the area.

Ordered the steamer clams and they were excellent. The ribeye was a very thin cut and didn’t have any marbling. The atmosphere is foposh. They want to look good but in a cheap way. The biggest con for me is their ice tea and fountain drinks are no free refills. It costs them .30 to make but charge $4 for a fountain drink. Makes it hard to want to come back as they do not value their customers. Waitress was very nice

I did not feel welcome as an older woman dining alone. Older waitress stopped me when I was going to find the restroom and asked me where I was going. I told her that I needed the rest room. I got the impression she thought I was leaving without paying the bill. I had to get up and find someone to get coffee refill. When I first arrived, I was not greeted. I had to say I wanted to dine in. The salad was fine but lacked all that was advertized like cabbage and kale. The carrot cake frosting was not too good. The bakery does not offer slicing on bread and do not understand that most bakeries slice bread loaves.

When we arrived we were informed that we arrived between meals and we could order Appetizers and Salads. No problem placed our order, informed they were out of the appetizer we wanted. Still no issue- we understand freshly made food takes time and will run out. Where the meal went wrong. People thatbareived 5-10 minutes after us where offered the full menu. I would have loved to have been notified that we only needed to wait a few minutes for us to be able to order lunch. Especially since ce 1/2 our order was sold out. Waitress also never refilled our beverages. The food we did get was Good.l

They had two hot items for vegetarians. A mushroom sandwich and a lentil burger. The burger was weird. The patty was disintegrates. Just crumbles on a soft thick bread. Almost over cooked. The first server was slow and didn't help at all. No smile. Quite grumpy actually. Didn't offer bread. Then later a different server did offer bread when I was getting ready for dessert. They were out of the nettles drink that I wanted to try.

Cooked with good timing but a very boring steak with very boring seasoning. Considering the $43 price, not recommended.

I’ve heard really great things about this place and was so excited to try their sesame salad on an already not so great day. I walked in, and nobody said anything. I stood there for about five minutes at the front counter; wasn’t once acknowledged. Older lady serving food and two younger folks at the front counter. No hello, no how can I help you… nothing. I went in and came out without seemingly being seen at all. I won’t return. If you can’t even greet or acknowledge your customers, your food can’t possibly be that great. Good food is cooked with love and there isn’t a single vibe of that here. Disappointed to say the least. 10/28 1:30p

This is long. For those who don’t want to read, the short version is that if you have a food allergy or sensitivity don’t come here. If you are looking for a relatively quick dining experience, don’t come here. The long story: I made a reservation for 6:15. While waiting at the “please wait to be seated” sign multiple people cut in front of us, and the host helped them despite telling us several times that they would be right with us. Ok fine, it’s a busy night. But after waiting 10 minutes just for my husband to approach the host, we learn that our table isn’t ready. The host has to move a table and add it to another section, clean up the table, and then we’re seated a few minutes later. Again, ok fine, it’s a busy night. The waitress comes over and we place our order. A soup, the ratatouille and 2 pizzas. 1 regular cheese and 1 a bit more complicated: GF veggie pizza without cheese, and mushrooms on just half. Repeated the order twice, and she repeated it back. I ordered a kombucha and was offered a sample of it before committing to the glass. Several minutes later the waitress comes back to say they are sold out of pizza for the night. Ok, fine, it’s a busy night. Let’s be flexible. We reorder different meals. But then several minutes after that, we learn the kitchen has already started our order and we were the last to get pizzas. Great! Back to plan A. The complimentary bread and soup come out pretty fast, but the kombucha sample took at least 10 minutes. Then when I ordered a glass of the kombucha it took even longer for that to come out. (Think it’s important to note I didn’t ask for the sample, it was offered to me. I wasn’t trying to be difficult). Eventually the pizzas come out. The cheese looks great. But the gluten free and dairy free pizza has cheese and mushrooms on the entire thing. The mushrooms I can get past, but I just cannot have dairy. The waitress offers to see if the kitchen can make a new pizza for me. She does, and they do. But here’s when things start to go from “ok fine” to well this is getting frustrating. The waitress announces that she will give a discount for the messed up pizza. A discount. On the pizza they messed up on and that she offered to keep on the table since my husband could eat it. We let her know we don’t feel we should pay for any of that pizza. She was apologetic, and I do understand it wasn’t her fault, nor was she responsible for the pricing. She checked with the kitchen, and was able to take that mistaken pizza off the bill. But, the fact that we had to protest paying for the mess up was bothersome. And at this point it was nearly 8pm, we had been in the restaurant with two tired kids since 6:15, and still didn’t even have my GF DF pizza. We ask for it to be boxed when it comes out. Eventually we do get the boxed pizza. The waitress discounts the kombucha and even throws a brownie into the mix. She was the only good part about the experience. Because I get in my car, we drive away, and when I open the box I find that they had made the freaking pizza with cheese and just picked it off. I could see white from where the cheese had melted before removing it. And of course it was covered in mushrooms. It was literally made the same as the first messed up pizza, but this time they picked off the cheese. Thankfully I don’t have an actual allergy to dairy, just a pesky autoimmune that makes me have joint pain and headaches when I have dairy. But for someone who has a serious allergy this could have been an awful situation. This was the third time we’ve come here and every experience is similar. This was just the worst one.
