Square Pie Guys Palo Alto Reviews
Came by for the grand opening. The space is super bright and pretty spacious for the size. Service was already super friendly as we entered. The pizzas look crispy and chewy. Lots of fun topping options! We ordered for takeout so we'll def have to come back for the hot out of the oven experience!
This was our first time trying Square Pie Guys and the pizza was delicious. It’s soft and pillowy in the center with the crunchy, cheesy edges you daydream about with Detroit style pizza. We opted to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The restaurant provided plates, glasses, and a carafe of water at no additional charge. The outside space is also pet-friendly.
I got a Half Pie Margherita and it was delicious! I’ve also had the Spicy pepperoni and I will be getting that again.

Worth the wait. Will probably be about 30 minutes for food depending on time so best to order ahead but the food is worth it. I would wait 30 minutes again honestly. Love the ranch it’s super citrusy and the pie guy sauce too. The owner is super attentive, the only thing is they could use more seating for people waiting, since they preset the tables it feels like you can’t sit at them if your waiting for a togo order
Tried the new branch on Cal Ave Palo Alto. We ordered brussel sprouts and 2 pizzas for four of us. We all thought the brussels were cooked to perfection with a yummy dipping sauce. The Detroit style pizzas were new to all of us and we loved them. The crust was crunchy and the topping flavors were delish. We will definitely be back to this casual and very friendly new addition to our always struggling Cal Ave.
I seldom write reviews, but I had to write one for Square Pie Guys since I really love this place. Pizza is even better after they reopened and took over the space from Local Kitchens. The owner, Greg, is also a really great and friendly guy!
Got to go pepperoni pizza that was delicious and the app was very easy to navigate! The outdoor space at the Palo Alto location also was a great addition to the atmosphere.
Really love Square Guy Pizza! The pizza is so delicious. We were so sad when Local Kitchens closed and were thrilled to discover that SGP was taking over the whole place. They were our favorite! :)
Square Pie Guys never disappoints. The crust is perfectly crispy the sauce is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are always cooked perfectly. Everything tastes fresh and made with care. Easily one of my go-to spots when I’m craving pizza. I would love a few more cheeses and pepper packets tho. But overall amazing pizza.
Man on top of the pizza being utterly excellent, the staff is always really kind and sweet. From the girl with the really nice eyebrows, to this kind young man to the power lifter Sammy, the staff is just the cherry on top. The pizza is like.. man it’s perfect. Crust has the perfect amount of crunch and the flavors are flavoring. Big shout out to yall

I didn’t know what to expect, But I was pleasantly surprised. The crust had a really nice crunchy bottom and then a soft middle. We tried the vodka sauce with Mushrooms and Kalamata olives it had plenty of cheese and a nice flavor.
Mind you, we went to this place after a concert and there were a good chunk of people here as well, but not that many. We ordered our food 20 minutes before we arrived to get a head start. We walked from the Stanford stadium to get there and by the time we reached, the food said another 30 mins. By the time we knew it, we had been waiting an additional hour for our pizza. Flavor was mid, but it hit the spot since we were hungry.

Had the Plant Supreme. It’s a great Detroit style pizza with crunchy crust. The toppings were fresh, and there was so much they were falling off the pizza. The size looks small at first but it was filling for two. The Grandma’s pie at State of Mind is still my favorite, but this is a great option.
We got the plant supreme and it was delicious. There is a little wait but the ambience was nice. Don’t be fooled by the size, one pizza is enough for 2 people. Anyways not bad. Now for a cookie :)
Pizza has great texture, but a little lacking in flavor. Personally a big fan of hot honey and ordered one with it but the pizza we got didn’t taste at all like hot honey.

Total Score: 5.78 Bathroom: N/A Didn’t use the bathroom Customer Service: 4.75/5 Super nice and was attentive. Checked up on us frequently. Ambiance: 3.75/5 White and blue. P clean Food: 3/5 Was very very very very greasy. If I was American I would have loved this. But the toppings were p interesting. But also why is everything brown colored. Wow: -0.25/1 There was a time where they said there was a delay in the square pie because they “cut it wrong.” So they had to restart. That was a bit weird lowkey. Total Score = (CS + 2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW)/0.9
I will echo what others have said about value for the price here! Portion is kinda small @ 4 slices for $30 for a simple pepperoni. The flavor was good with crispy/cheese side and corners as you would expect in a deep dish. I ordered delivery and it came in a reasonable amount of time. I’m not sure if I would order again because of price.

I had the margherita pizza on their opening day. It had a thick crust (and I like thick crust pizza) but here it was overly dense and the bottom was too chewy. The bottom had the taste and texture of dosa that is folded over itself several times. It's not a texture or taste I have had in pizza and I didn't like it. The sauce was very simple tomato sauce with no depth of flavor. Overall the pizza did not taste like a margherita pizza. I would rate it a 2.5/5 on taste. It was just ok. I didn't see them name their style but it seems to be trying to be Detroit style. I would say it's more like the French bread pizza fad of the 1990s. Service was friendly but the pizza took much longer to be ready than the stated 50 minutes. It ended up close to 70 minutes. They were doing 50% off for their grand opening so the value was acceptable but I certainly would not pay full price ($21 for the one I ordered with four smallish slices). At that pricing you can get a much better pizza at other local pizzerias.
Got the Spicy Pepperoni Pizza they musta left out DA Spicy Ranch, Pizza was on par Detroit Style tasted served hot temperature wise. Staff last night 2/05/26 wasn't really welcoming & didn't give any recommendations, the Stella Beers we served in tiny cans no glasses. Would I go back for a Togo order.

We ordered delivery thru their app, and our delivery got sent off to uber. Felt little misleading. The food arrived very cold really greasy. Nobody felt like eating it. We messaged the support app but got left in the dust. Won’t be back.
