I was staying at the AS Hotel Sempione Fiera and visited the restaurant. On the first day, I was disappointed with the food. The side salad was quite simple, and for the main course, I had the various fish dishes. There was a lot of fish and seafood, but unfortunately, there were no side dishes. On the second day, I was very surprised. The salad was well-stocked, and the food was very tasty. I ordered the swordfish, but unfortunately, I had to order the side dish separately. The menu is also concise, but the staff is very friendly, and there is a wide selection of wines.

A clean and welcoming atmosphere with adequate space. The staff is very friendly and attentive: it's the first time I've had an empty bread tray replaced with a full one without asking. We enjoyed a decent and hearty risotto with porcini mushrooms, a fresh tartare, a well-cooked tripe Bolognese, not at all heavy although quite strong, and a perfect lemon sorbet. They have a wide selection of wines from various regions. The bill is reasonable for both quality and quantity.

The restaurant has limited seating, but is very well laid out and has plenty of space between tables. The menu offers a good balance of meat and fish. A restaurant inspired by tradition. Up-to-date, consistently excellent food. The calamarata with paccheri is excellent, and the fried imperial fish is truly delicious. The desserts are exquisite, even the presentation is excellent. The atmosphere is decent, nothing exceptional.

THEY DO NOT ACCEPT FORK PAY. Nice place. Very good fillet. The grilled fish was not interesting for my taste. The 20% discount was not applied. We ordered two grilled fish for €36, an octopus salad for €12, two mixed salads for €8, a fillet for €18, two bottles of water, and three place settings. We paid €28 each.

The wine list offers a good selection, well-represented with indications of vintage and alcohol content. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the care taken in preparing the food, which is based on good ingredients, but I didn't find the expected expertise in the finished dish. The cold cuts were good, but I wasn't satisfied with the gnocco fritto. The grilled fish had a bitter taste that can occur if you don't manage the grill well; perhaps it was a coincidence. The fillet à la Voronoff was good, although the sauce was a bit too thin. The staff was extraordinary, making up for the culinary gap. The prices are in line with other local establishments, lower than those in the capital and just right for an excellent quality-price ratio. It's interesting to consider spending an evening at the hotel where the restaurant is located, where you can stop after a hearty dinner to avoid driving illegally. Booking.com offers some attractive prices (AS HOTEL SEMPIONE FIERA).

The soups/vellutés are good, but it's a shame they only offer three. The fillet steak is also very good. I didn't like the mixed grilled fish. The chocolate cake was decent. All in all, the place offers good value.

Esperienza PESSIMA! Abbiamo cenato presso questo ristorante per il Capodanno 2024. Il Menù prevedeva due Antipasti (miseri) , due Primi ( le crespelle passabili ma i "Paccheri all'astice" in realtà non erano paccheri ma calamarata e di astice ne abbiamo trovato forse tre pezzettini) un Secondo ( quello che doveva essere un medaglione di filetto con riduzione di Porto in realtà era un roastbeef con panna) All fine doveva esserci un dolce che è stato servito all'una di notte. Il cibo era scarso e non di buona qualità. Il servizio lentissimo ( ci è stato servito il secondo alle 23:45 e la cena è iniziata alle 20:30) I complimenti però ai camerieri che sono stati gentilissimi e bravi a cercare di recuperare una serata organizzata malissimo! Non so chi si è preso la responsabilità di servire una cena del genere ma per il prezzo che abbiamo pagato è stata servita una cena disonesta.

We had a pumpkin soup (meager and cold) and octopus and potatoes (meager, more potatoes than fish), accompanied by a bottle of water and 1/4 cup of wine... a whopping €47... the staff was friendly, but I won't be returning. I paid almost the same price for a night's stay with a buffet breakfast at the 4-star hotel next to the restaurant. What a shame, a real disappointment.

It's okay to raise prices because of Covid... But this seems really excessive to me... 38 euros for 4 pizzas... a pizza with burrata, mozzarella, and cherry tomatoes 10 euros, a pizza with porcini mushrooms and onions 10 euros... You'll say "what's she complaining about?"... I'm complaining because I paid 9 euros each for two baby pizzas with sausage and fries. Are you kidding? Get the bill before confirming your order... You might be left speechless. I'm attaching the photos because the lady on the phone kept insisting that the sausage and fries pizzas weren't baby pizzas!
