SUteiShi Peck Slip Reviews
We had a wonderful time at Suteishi. The service was great especially a young man named George who helped us pick out great food and drink options. Would 10/10 recommend to a friend.
The vibe, dishes and customer service was amazing. This restaurant is worth to dine in. I had the toros from different fishes, so fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend it for any occasion.
The food was very good!, will definitely come back. Jaime was our server and he was amazing, always taking care of us. All the staff was very attentive and nice.
My name is Josh love this place is amazing. Come here all the time quality food and the best hospitality. Great workers they all remember I work at summit one Vanderbilt. I’m in tourism and hospitality industry love this place and bring everyone here. Top Notch in NYC. My Favorite places all time. Fresh and Quality 100 percent. I come all the time the best in all NYC! 😊
Place is absolutely phenomenal, me and my mom come here rarely but it’s always worth it. When you get regular sushi and you think it’s just how it tastes, this is another level above. It’s fresh, tender, delicious, and genuinely makes the day when I get to come here. Today our server, vanity, was very nice and conversational, and recommended a new dish that was exquisite. Very informative and kind.
Perfect night with incredible meal, atmosphere, service and hostess. Melt in mouth sashimi special. Smoked eel roll. Our favorite appetizers were hot and spicy shrimp, yellowtail jalapeño, grilled black cod, grilled eggplant, pacific jewel and seaweed salad. Delicately flavored mochi ice cream. Always the highlight of our Seaport experience! Wish I could eat here every night.
The food is always phenomenal here! The staff is beyond kind and goes above and beyond to accommodate with whatever you need. It is dog friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious!!
Suteishi delivers an unforgettable culinary experience! Every bite was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor, while the service was nothing short of impeccable—attentive, warm, and seamless. The drinks? Absolute perfection. From start to finish, it was a symphony of pure indulgence. A must-visit for any food lover! Definitely coming back!
This place is the reason I started eating sushi. Great location looking out at the bridge. The service is always exceptional and the food is world class. Worth every penny. You must stop here if you’re anywhere remotely close to NYC. Even if you don’t like sushi, trust me, give it a shot.
Truly a local favorite! Great food and service. The sushi is fresh, well presented and always tasty!
We take a 30 minute journey here multiple times a month because we love it so much! By far the best fish i've had in NYC for anywhere near this price point. Great ambience, amazing service, just wonderful all around. The servers are so friendly and kind and the manger Katie and Chef Kin (and all of the sushi chefs) are unmatched. <3 Elizabeth and Eddie
My first time at this restaurant and oh boy did it not disappoint. The food was incredible and the sushi in my opinion was the best I’ve ever had. The service was amazing especially with server George Howe, a close friend of mine from school, who invited me to try this place. I will definitely be returning here as soon as I can
Best sushi in NYC! The yellowtail jalapeño appetizer was absolutely incredible, all the rolls are really good (specially for the roll in the picture )very good quality, price is fair specially when they have fresh ingredients and tasty drinks. The sake martinis are delicious ;) thank me later. I recommend this place 100% Thanks to our server Karla, who gave us the recommendations choosing every item, and also making sure we were having a really good time, service is great, atmosphere is delightful and you literally can see when they’re making your food. Perfect spot for every occasion. 5/5.
This was an amazing experience. The food here is the freshest I've ever had before. They have many many unique rolls as well as classic ones. They do try to get to buy 8$ water in the beginning but they are very knowledgeable and and the flavors just explode on your tongue. Overall amazing experience.
Truly a hidden gem nestled within Sea Port. Sitting on a quiet corner you will find Suteishi. The vibe is elegant and is perfect for dinner with friends or even date night. The spicy yellowtail appetizer is delicious and the desserts were soooo good! I love the crème brûlée, the ube and miso cream puffs! Omg I would totally come back for that!
I visit here nearly weekly. Food is awesome, atmosphere is great, and staff is very nice. I've never been disappointed in the 3 years I've been coming here! Always fresh. Good amount of selection.
The service was fast and courteous. The ambiance was dark and even though the music did not match the Asian vibe, it was still pleasant. We ordered the omikase for 3, as well as a few appetizers like shishito peppers, miso soup and rice. The shishito peppers were delicious and each piece of sushi was delicious and had a different topic on it. The temperature of the fish was just perfect and tasted super fresh. Definitely recommend this place for sushi lovers.
Had an amazing dinner at SUteiShi and can’t recommend it enough. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish we tried was a hit, especially the sushi, which was some of the best I’ve had in the city. The atmosphere was stylish yet relaxed, and the service was top-notch—attentive without being overbearing. It’s clear the team takes pride in both the food and the overall experience. SUteiShi is a true gem and I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
Richard was our server and made our visit wonderful! The sushi was delicious and the whole family was obsessed with the sesame chili dipping sauce. Great place and wonderful staff all around. Highly recommend!
The sushi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the staff was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect. Every bite tasted incredibly fresh, and the chef’s specials were outstanding. Definitely my new go-to sushi spot!
Absolutely phenomenal food! I had been really craving a great sushi meal of tasty rolls and sashimi. A bunch of our friends where ready to get together and so they set us up outside in a private area which was just perfect. Honestly this place is a top contender for the best sushi restaurant in NYC in my opinion. It's a bold statement in a big city, but everything from quality to service and accomodation was top notch. Being able to walk around the newly renovated Seaport with the river views and Brooklyn Bridge all lit up were an added bonus!
I really enjoyed SUteiShi! The sushi is super fresh and full of flavor, and the rolls are made with great attention to detail. The atmosphere is modern and relaxed, with a nice view that adds to the experience. The staff are kind and efficient, making the whole meal smooth and enjoyable. A great spot for high-quality sushi in a calm setting.
Second time here. First time was in 2020 Summer for my birthday. We had a two party dinner Omakase. It was amazing! This time we came for lunch. We love the sushi roll and rock barbecue. Especially, the barbecue was creative. We also had an eggplant plate as appetizer, which was tasty. The uni was good but not so fresh as the ones I’ve tried before in NYC. Overall, I highly recommend this place and visit back again!
"When we first stepped into this establishment, we were struck by its elegance, cleanliness, and refined ambiance. We had the pleasure of being served by Krystal, our exceptional waitress, who greeted us with a warm and courteous demeanor. As we deliberated over our menu choices, she offered expert recommendations, ensuring we felt at ease and confident in our selections. Throughout our dining experience, Krystal attended to our every need, making us feel welcome and comfortable. We left thoroughly satisfied with our meals, particularly the delectable 'Perfect 10' sushi and the sublime tuna ravioli, which simply melted in our mouths. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Krystal for her outstanding service, which has made this restaurant our new go-to destination."
First time dining here tonight for Sunday dinner. I came to the restaurant based off an Instagram promotion. Crystal took care of us and she is an absolute delight. Crystal is very attentive to our needs and her energy is welcoming. Every plate was delicious and I would go back for every single dish especially the spicy jalapeño yellow tail appetizer as well the desserts prepared by Gobis_Goods. For the desserts, we had 2 chouxs. One Ube flavor and one miso caramel. Both bursting with flavor and they were not too too sweet. They were just perfect, soft exterior with a cool delicious creamy filling and the whip cream complimented both very nicely. We also had a miso cremè brûlée which was fireee. Crystal torched it on top of course and the consistency was perfect. I would recommend this restaurant for the Japanese dishes and the desserts!! I will be coming back!
Got to try their Screaming Hot Rock-Fillet Mignon & And Amazing Omakase for my niece birthday! And we really enjoyed it. The vibe and music create great mood while you eat💖 Amazing Service! Got to serve by Ms. Chu and she is the best! Got the chance to check on us even she’s so busy! Over all 10/10 experience🔥 And also they personally invite us for their sake tasting event this coming Sept 18-22nd. Can’t wait to have some free drinks while enjoying my dinner. ❤️
We went looking for a higher level of sushi in/near the Financial District and came across SUteiShi. It’s excellent in every way. We are well in the heated outdoor seating and had great service from Ms Somoza. All the sushi we ate was delicious and some had unusual ingredients - banana anyone? The only too highly-priced item was the peach saketini, at $15. We will be back.
My boyfriend and I recently enjoyed a delightful dining experience at this affordable omakase gem! The service was truly amazing and kind, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The ube cream puff and creme brule were our absolute favorites—exquisite desserts that left us craving more. The tuna ravioli appetizer was a flavorful delight, and the fun sake float added a playful twist to our culinary adventure. A five-star experience that won't break the bank! Will definitely be back.
It was my first time trying their food and ooofff it’s 100/10 🔥 the tuna ravioli was so so good, i love the way that it melts in my mouth. Our server, Cleverlyn, was very nice and her service was great! Gonna come back for sure!
BAYYYYBEEEEE When I tell you we ATE!!! And we LOVE to EAT!!!This was just supposed to be a quick bite with my BFF a couple of drinks and a walk along the pier to kick off the unofficial start to summer. And I think I just found my go-to spot for sushi in Lower Manhattan. Service…Amazing. Ambiance…Amazing. Food…Amazing. Drinks…Amazing. Krystal (our server) was SPOT ON with her recommendations. Presentation was just as good as the food itself. AND THE LYCHEE SAKETINI!!!! I’m coming back for that alone…I mean…I’m coming back for everything but I LOVED the Lychee Saketini. The King Crab Miso Soup…chef’s kiss! With the wonderful weather, being about to take advantage of the mix of indoor outdoor seating was great too. How could I have not known about this spot…a true hidden gem. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK! And you should come too!
I’ve been a loyal customer of SUteiShi for their takeout and delivery, so when I saw they had a Pulsd deal, I decided to take the plunge and dine in. Let me tell you, I’m so glad I did! We did the Omakase Sushi Dinner for Two, which was an absolute feast. The meal includes a sushi starter, 16 fusion sushi pieces (8 nigiri per person), 2 specialty rolls, a carafe of hot sake, and a spicy mayo pack to take home. Each piece was fresh, bursting with flavor, and meticulously crafted. The sushi was beautifully presented, and the fusion elements were a delicious surprise, offering a mix of traditional and innovative flavors. What really made this experience unforgettable, though, was the atmosphere. The side doors were open, giving us a stunning, romantic view of the Brooklyn Bridge. It created such a cozy and intimate vibe that made the meal feel even more special. Having enjoyed their takeout before, I was already a fan, but dining in took it to a whole new level. The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe was perfect for a relaxed but elevated meal. If you’ve only had their takeout, do yourself a favor and dine in next time! You won’t regret it.
SUteiShi Japanese Restaurant offers something different. Staff members remain observant, respond to questions eagerly and provide remarkable service. The food maintains standards and the location works with my schedule. The taste tells you they use fresh ingredients. They've created perfection in dining form.
I’ve been here too many times to count in the past few years and it’s a favorite for a reason. The service is exceptional, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxing and fun. I love SUteiShi and will continue to return.
The server, Connor, was very attentive and caring. Explained things well and gave me ample time to look over the menu to be sure of what I wanted. He was handling most, if not all the tables at the time, and I really appreciated how he seemed to treat everyone kindly and patiently. The food was delicious. I’ve come in a few times and tried different things. This stir fry was a perfect portion and really flavorful. The atmosphere was amazing
Great atmosphere, and pleasant experience. Staff were helpful and welcoming. The food was pleasant with great options. Especially during the summer time, the place is at the corner location, breezy air and refreshing drinks make the place pleasant to visit. It's not the place for you to have a hard core sushi experience, but it is definitely an enjoyable night out in the summer!
I had a great experience at SUteiShi. The space feels modern, polished, and inviting without trying too hard. Our waiter was genuinely warm and attentive, the kind of service that makes you relax and enjoy the meal. The sushi rolls were fresh, well-balanced, and seriously satisfying. This is the kind of place you’re happy to return to, and I’m already looking forward to coming back with my family.
Favorite neighborhood spot worthy of a destination spot. Melt in your mouth classic sushi plus fusion options and great offerings other than sushi including hot rocks. Nice sake options. All presented beautifully. Small place, tucked away on a cobblestone street just off the Seaport, chill vibe, open to the sidewalk facing a small park in the good weather.
It's been ages since I've been back, but this place just got even better! We celebrated our friend’s birthday and I’m glad we went here! The atmosphere was nice, and a mini bar in the corner where u can order a lot of saketinis, which is fire btw. Cleverlyn, Jordy, and Richard took great care of us, making sure everything was perfect. The food? Never gets old, and always FRESH! ❤️🔥 Shout out to Chef Kin! Can’t wait to come back and try his famous traditional omakase✨🤤 11/10
I've dined at "SUteiShi" a number of times. The most recent was this weekend. I was impressed again. The Sushi was a 10 out of 10 ----just fantastic. The quality was also extremely high. We sat at the sushi bar, and the sushi chefs were personable while working surprisingly fast ---the sushi and sashimi platters they were putting together looked like a work of art. Personally, I enjoy sushi and sashimi and I have tried all the good spots in downtown NYC, and in the Financial District. I really think its extremely hard to beat Suteishi. Sure there is Nobu, and it is very good ---but that is more of a place to be seen than anything else, in my opinion. As far as food quality and value, I prefer Suteishi over about any of the sushi places in the Seaport and Financial District area. The vibe is.cool, and chill there, which I also really like. Hard to beat Suteishi.
This is my third time coming here and me and my friend always get the best experience. The combination of excellent food as well as lovely service from our server Richard! From the moment we walk in, we feel welcomed. I’ve been informing others about this location to try the many different recommendations that Richard provided alongside the other tempting options. The view is the cherry on top!
This is THE SUSHI SPOT in NYC, unbelievable view and world class hospitality rain or shine! We tried the Rainbow Roll and Tuna Ravioli both AMAZING choices. Also got the Vegetable Gyoza and Grilled Eggplant delicious appetizers. Their Pomegranate Margarita and Yuzu Lemonade were refreshing and I will be returning for more real soon! Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable experience at SUteiShi!😎
From the moment we walked into SuteiShi, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere is warm, modern, and inviting — the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. But what truly elevated our night was the impeccable service, especially from Richard, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Richard was attentive, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made us feel like honored guests from start to finish. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor — fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite. Whether you’re a sushi lover or just looking for an exceptional night out, SuteiShi is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return and enjoy another amazing evening. Thank you, Richard, and the entire team, for an unforgettable experience!
We came at 6pm on a Thursday and had no waiting time. Plenty of tables available and friendly service. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and a spicy salmon roll and both were delicious. We were impressed by the taste and quality of the fish. Fresh and nice cuts. If you are looking for a sushi spot downtown in a nice area, SUteiShi is a great option and is right in the Seaport. Highly recommend!
Everything was outstanding. Food, service, and atmosphere. We had so much food, it was all delicious and the service was so attentive. Near the seaport, so enjoy lunch/dinner there. Outdoor and indoor dining. I recommend going after 2pm as the lunch crowd would have died down and (depending on what time of year it is) the sun has shifted beyond the building so you have it is highlighting the big open space across from the restaurant, but you are dining in the shade.
SUteiShi is a fun spot in the Seaport district. You get a nice view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the wonderful breeze for being close to the water front. The staff is very helpful, patient, and will take the time to answer any questions about the menu. They are also fun in that they are willing give solid recommendations if you ask. The wonderful thing about being in NYC is that there are restaurants at different price points and preferences. For SUteiShi’s price point, their menu offering and fish quality is solid. I ordered their Perfect 10, homemade miso soup, fried ice cream, and yuzu lemonade. Their nigiri sushi had a good ratio of rice to fish. This is my personal bias, I like my rice slightly on the drier side and I felt their rice had a little too much moisture. Their maki roll was well constructed and I didn’t have the roll unravel. Their miso soup has a very home made feel and uses more kelp than I have seen in most restaurants. It had a good flavor. It was lovely to enjoy a glass of yuzu lemonade. It that the perfect tartness that is great for a warm spring evening. Oh and FRIED + ice cream, need I say more. If you are in the Seaport area, I would recommend you look over SUteiShi’s menu and stop in.
Hidden gem sushi spot in the seaport area. Staff are very friendly and the vibe is relaxed, with indoor and outdoor seating in the summer. We enjoyed some rolls, and sushi pieces which had some fun and fresh sauces and flavors. I particularly enjoyed the scallop, rainbow roll and ikura. The grilled section has some great options with good flavors. Also got the crab gyoza but they were pretty dry, not much filling. Would skip them next time but would come back for fresh fish.
Wonderful service! Tons of seatings outside and inside! This is a pretty vibrant environment with tons of things going on around. This is pretty much in the heart of the Seaport. The sushi is good but not spectacular. Good sushi Options though. If you’re craving sushi then definitely check this place out!
Ordered the Hot & Crispy shrimp, Crunchy East Specialty Roll and the California Roll. It was all very good!!! The shrimp was my favorite. The crunchy east was a bit small for being a "Specialty Roll" which typically should be bigger for the price and ingredients it has. The servers were super nice, but they were a bit understaffed and took 10 min to get our order and another 30 to get our food. Understandable so we still left a good tip, treated them nicely and had patience.
First time here for a group dinner at Suteishi. Enjoyed the large open "garage doors" while the NY weather played along nicely (Oct). The Salmon Toro sashimi highly recommended. Grilled salmon was ok, tho slightly overcooked. Omakase 8 was good but not great, good variety but overall barely eaked out a 7 out of 10. The "Perfect 10" was good enough, probably 7.5 on our scale. Prolly won't be back.
The restaurant appears bear bones in terms of ambiance and decor. It doesn't have a defined feel to me; it was opened up to the street and they have a bunch of their tables on the sidewalk. As for the food, I can say that the sushi was relatively low quality and on the small side. The picure shown is their 10 piece combination plate. There was a good variety of fish, but was hampered by it's freshness and size. To note, I ordered a large hot sake, but apparently they only had a 10oz size, and lastly, they didn't have lite soy sauce on the table, just regular.
I came here for the first time today based off the good reviews i have seen and i would say its hit and miss. The customer service is excellent they were very kind and prompt with me and its really clean there. I say hit and miss because its a nice dining area and great customer service, but its a little pricy and i didnt quite enjoy my rolls. I got two shrimp tempura rolls with no cucumber and they came to a little over 19$, 9$ each. The tempura reminded me of a “beer batter” fried shrimp instead of the crispy tempura batter that im used to. The flavor was still good, just not as good as i expected it to be. I would go there again although.
I had the Groupon: Omakase for two. It came with hot sake, 16 Omakase pieces, 1 shared starter, 2 specialty rolls. This is also a regular menu item. Unbeknownst to us, the chef picks everything. Everything. I sat down 10 min before my party arrived and was not given or asked for water not a beverage. I constantly had to ask the bus boy for things throughout the entire meal. The waiter was non-existent for a not so busy place. Half the tables were there previously and the other 4(including myself) were new. The fish provided was room temperature and the only ingredients used were Sriracha, Garlic chips, spicy mayo, and oil. The only thing smoked/scorched was the Salmon. Even the specialty rolls were underwhelming. The hot sake turned cold as soon as it hit the air I guess. The rest rooms were Disgusting and tiny. Would I spend $118 again. Nope! I would not recommend this place.
