CAO Bakery & Cafe Pembroke Pines Reviews
Maria and Melvin were very nice and friendly. I ordered both a steak and chicken sandwich and presentation was amazing. The sandwiches both tasted great and I enjoyed every bite of it as I sat down in their dining area which was very clean by the way. This was a great customer service experience and I’m glad to say I will definitely be coming back here as a regular.
Slightly smaller than a lot of their other locations. Table setups that can easily seat 2 but can be adjusted to seat more if the other tables are open. The rewards system is always great (it really gives you a good amount of free credits per dollar spent). Im having some issues with that currently as two of my cards are under two different accounts and i cant seem to merge them.
Great place for a pit stop when looking to grab something for you, your office or any event. I wanted to take this moment to share my thoughts and experience even though I never give reviews on places. Starting with that management is exceptional, very attentive to the customers and willing to go above and beyond. Place is always beautifully decorated for the season, the caffe con leche oscurito con azúcar is the bomb! Everyone is so nice and I love the reward system in place. It gets crazy when a lot of ppl come in but you ladies don’t lose your touch and food is always amazing. Thank you!! 💛 Yari
Welcome to Pembroke Pines! Hoping to visit often. I missed the chamber ribbon cutting but ventured to you and was excited to try a few of my favorite Cubanita Treats. Happy to report the little papa rellenas were delicious as well as the pastelitos and croquettas. Super excited to have more cuban places to have a quick bite at. It was really clean and beautiful…
I recently had the pleasure of ordering from CAO Bakery, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From start to finish, it was a delightful journey, and I want to commend the entire team, with special praise for the manager, Pamela. Pamela was not only extremely wonderful but also incredibly supportive throughout the process. She made sure that my order was prepared with ease, and her attention to detail and customer service skills were outstanding. Her dedication to ensuring a seamless experience was truly remarkable. Moreover, I must mention that the entire staff at CAO Bakery is exceptional. They are not only friendly but also incredibly helpful. Their warmth and willingness to assist customers make the visit to the bakery a memorable one. I am thoroughly impressed with CAO Bakery's commitment to customer satisfaction, and I will undoubtedly be returning for more delicious treats in the future. Thank you, Pamela, and the entire CAO Bakery team, for making my experience so wonderful!
Coffee was prepared fresh and tastes great! Customer service was excellent and the place is clean. They also have lots of pastries 🥮 to choose from! Highly recommended!
I tried CAO for the 1st time and everything in the cases looked scrumptious! I ordered a breakfast croissant, coconut pastry, and cafecito. Everything tasted amazing, although the cafecito had a bit too much sugar. There isn't enough seating, but the place was clean.
It was my first time in CAO bakery… What a pleasant experience - the cafe was clean and organized the gentleman that took our order was very nice and helpful. But, most of all the food was delicious! I ordered a Frita! Thank you ❤️
My daily breakfast stop. Highly recommend. Service is amazing always. Alex
Stopped in for breakfast for the office. Great service, fast and courteous. It smelled so good in there. Ordered 2 Cafe con leches and a dozen pastellitos.
The most delicious Cafe Con Leche ☕ and well prepared turkey and swiss cheese croissant sandwich I've ever had in my entire life 🤤😁 highly recommend this location will definitely be back 👍👍The employees are all accommodating sweethearts as well too 👌🙂
I love this spot! This is my favorite place to start my morning! The cafe con leche is my favorite and their breakfast sandwiches and baked good are just as good! Love the Staff too very kind and hospitable! Thanks guys!
The staff is friendly the food is good, whatever you schedule allows either sitting down or on the go CAO is definitely a great place to know.
This place is a hidden gem. Great food options and service.
the cuban sandwich was for real, the way I remember from the first Cubans here in the sixties and guava pastries were warm and great
Your pastalitos are so tasty. My sandwich wasn't quite right but the girl Maria, is Great, she is definitely a problem solver . She corrected my sandwich & it was great. She is an asset to your company. Her English is improving too. Thanks!
My daughter came to spend the weekend at home and I had a guava pastry at home from CAO. She loved it so we decided to go for breakfast. It was amazing! Everything was so well made, hot and plentiful! The "cortadito", breakfast sandwich and the breakfast with eggs, bacon and a GIANT TOSTADA; so big, my daughter took a picture to show to her husband! The service is cordial, (could use a little more smiles), quick and the entire bakery is very clean. Will return for sure.
Clean beautiful place, pastelitos and cortaditos are the best in the area, I took my family from Texas there to show off and succeeded....they loved it. Girls working there are very professional and friendly, they make you feel welcome always with a smile. I would definitely come back and I really recommended.
I stopped by to get acGuava pastry and a guava with cheese pastry. I was very surprised, the sugar was perfect not to sweet and pastry dough was fresh… not soggy at all. There were 3 ladies working and they were very helpful and pleasant. I would definitely go back.🤗
This place has the best cafe con leche and tostada to grab on the go the service is quick and the atmosphere is very warm and friendly. The aroma of fresh warm mouth watering pastries fills your nose as you step in the door. The customer service is 10/10
Great coffee, the guava/cheese pastries were excellent, not too sweet and the pastry was perfect. Service was quick and friendly enough. I will definitely be back to try some of their other pastries!
Delicious variety of baked goods and foods. We got a too good to go box from here and loved trying all the different pastries.
Stopped in for a quick treat before an appointment and was impressed! Everything looked delicious! Had a hard time picking but grabbed a couple of Colombian empanadas, a Tres leches cake, and a coffee. Everything tasted great!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great spot for Cuban pastries and sandwiches! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Love stopping by for a cafecito and pastelito—highly recommend!
Yes this place in Pembroke Pines is awesome always clean and the staff is very friendly. I stop there sorta often because I live like two minutes away. I can always rest assure the coffee is fresh and the pastry are very fresh the pastries melt in your mouth because they are fresh as well as everything in store and it is always very clean and the bathroom also. I don't write many reviews but again this place is awesome. Please keep up the good work.
Amazing customer service! Got a delicious churrasco meal for only $15! Affordable and tasty is a rare combo nowadays but they delivered! Clean restaurant and welcoming vibe; would come again!
The best bakery there is. I used to go to Vicky bakery for the breakfast but they now are bad because they eliminated the fries with there breakfast combos. Cao bakery breakfast is a million times better than Vicky. Don’t rust those negative review and go. One of the best bakery places there is. Keep up the awesome work Cap staffers
The assistance is very good , everything is very fresh, They brought my food to the table and it didn't take long everything was very delicious now with those new lunches that they took out everything is very delicious.
I had a really good experience, the cashier and the chef have a good costumer service and the food was 10/10.
It was my first visit, looking for something to delight my staff. And I liked it. The fresh produce was tasty and there was a lot of variety. It was worth it. They were very kind. I'll be back
I have never had a bad experience when coming here. The staff is very inviting and friendly...you're always greeted with a smile and good vibes, more of this!
The coffee was hot and fresh. The pastries were delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more treats. We had the guava pastelito, the dulce leche pastelito and coconut pastry. All 3 were very very good!!
Awesome service and amazing food!! The pastries and sweets all look so good, its so hard to pick just one. You literally walk in, smell the food amd want to buy one of everything!! Yum!
Cute little spot. We tried baked goods, their chocolate croissants are awesome. I didn’t care for their cakes, as to me they were somewhat average. Coffee is exceptional. Service is amazing, wonderful!
I liked the bakery. It was nice. I was happy with my order. I got a coffee, a breakfast sandwich, ham croquettes, and cheese pastelitos. The sandwich was a good size. The croquets tasted good and I loved the cheese pastelitos. I ate inside. They brought the food to the table. That was nice. Service was friendly. The bakery had a nice, chill atmosphere. They had Spanish music playing. This shop is in a shopping plaza. It is at a corner of the plaza with a huge sign. It has plenty of parking all around.
I have always loved them. Their pastelitos are full of substance! Prices are average but because so full they are better than other Cuban bakeries. But today was disappointed. I have never had to tell them I am on the club it’s has been automatic. But today they just rang me up and I said I am on the club. She said should have told me, sorry. I know not a big thing but somehow it was to me. I see it as part of good service.
I love having this place close by…nothing like tostadas and cafecito on a Saturday morning. But, sometimes the tostada is soggy and yesterday we had steak sandwiches that were so tough we couldn’t eat them. Probably won’t order hot food again.
Clean little place. Guava pastellito was crispy just how I like it. My media noche was good not great. I would go again if in the area.
Love the coconut pastelitos, guava and cheese was okay and the croquetas were over priced but really good quality. I think they can have better prices.
The service is ok, kinda slow even when there’s no one in there. I do want to say I came a couple weeks ago and ordered a sandwich only to find a blonde hair in it. I went back, and they said they’d remake it for me or replace it, the lady at the front was nice about it and offered to remake it herself instead of the person in the back. The person in the back needs to start wearing a hair net or something.
It was our first time at your place, we usually go around the neighborhood to explore new places and support our locals. The pastries were delicious and the place is clean and cute, but unfortunately the girl behind the counter ( Lisey C ) has a bad attitude and unpleasant customer service skills. She made our first time there really uncomfortable. Treated us And another customer with bad attitude. My sister asked for a latte and she gave her a horrible cup regular of coffee and when my sister asked if that was a latte, she angrily asked my sister what a latte was to her. My coffee was terrible too. She looked bored and maybe she was upset, but customers should be treated with respect.
They need to take care of customers no when a customer is asking for something the lady at the cash register just walk away without finishing taking the order she want to do a lot at the same time customer service is a priority
The place looks very clean and organized. Prices are a bit high, but worth it if food and service are good. However, I was given the wrong item, and the staff member put it back in the display case after I returned it — without knowing if I had touched or tasted it! That’s a serious hygiene concern. Not sure if I’ll return after
I'm very sorry but the pastries (pastelios) they sell at CAO are NOT cuban pastries. Bought a large assortment for a party and the pastel de carne (meat pastry) was extremely salty and only very tiny amount of meat. The cheese pastel tasted like theyvused cottage cheese. The croquettes were ok a bit bland. Only 3 to 5 people ate from the assortment. 3 to 5 out of 27 people. Sorry but i will NOT be going back.
This place is not consistent I ask for my latte dark and they don’t listen. I understand if you’re busy and I am willing I wait but give me my coffee the way I asked for it.
The cashier is not friendly, not smiling at all, her body language shows she don't want to work or don't care, she stands up in the cashier with a chin resting posture while we are telling her our orders.
I went this cafe yesterday for the first time and purchased 3 different types of cookies. Oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, and red velvet. I also purchased a slice of the carrot cake. The cookies were hard and disgusting like they have been sitting there for days and carrot cake was okay but nothing to that I will purchase again. We ended throwing it all in the garbage!! I don't think I will be going back there. Not a good first impression at all!! Money wasted.
My husband and me came here to try a new place. We were extremely disappointed. I don't even know where to start; they take forever to have things ready. The chicken croquettes were all flour and no chicken; tried the Camaron & ajo croquettes and they were over salty. The papa rellena was ok but smaller and more expensive than other places. We order breakfast and everything was low in flavor. I'm giving 2 stars because the coffee was very good and the manager was nice. Nothing tasted fresh except the coffee. First time in years I give a bad review but don't mess with my cuban food or you'll hear from me. I don't think we will be back.
Broooo. I bought a bacon egg bagel sandwich, because normally the food here is really good. I get the the office, pick up my sandwich, take a bite, and a roach crawls out of the bag. Yall gotta do better man smh. Now I'm gonna be starving until lunch.
Well good pastries but the staff there and the owner, are not the friendliest nor are they customer oriented, and I find very expensive and the portion pastries very small, and need a far better selection of pastries in my opinion
Open your closed boxes and check that your order is correct. I had two items missing from my paid order.
I ordered a Cuban Sandwich and a Croquetas Especial with 2 guava pastries and two coconut pastries. I drove all the way to the house and they gave me two “wannabe” Cuban Sandwiches. No Croquetas Especial. Both sandwiches had one slice of pre package ham and a spoon of pup pork. No cheese, no pickles. I paid $12.00 for each sandwich!! I felt ripped off !!
Cheese pastalitos were soggie not crisp pastry and the cheese inside was sour and tasted old. My daughter and both got sick. The loaf of cuban bread was also stale. We gave it a second chance but wont be given it a third. The coffee however was good.
I got the baked chicken empanada, and the friend Colombian beef empanada to go. The beef empanada was good but the baked chicken empanada was so dry and hard to the point of not even edible. There’s no way that was freshly made today. It was hard as a rock And 80% empty inside with just a tiny bit of dry chicken with no flavor.
We didn't like the cakes, the napoleon dough (layered cakes, covered with sugar, dulce de leche and chocolate) was raw and cakey, we ordered 5 different ones, extremely sweet, I don't recommend it, especially if you are going to invite, you will stay very bad, with poorly made pastries
False advertisement to the max. I ordered the holiday bliss platter based on the photo they advertise and i go something completly different. See picture. Their excuse is that the picture is of 50 pieces and i ordered 25. I said well if you would have told me that the 25 piece is not what is on the picture then i would have ordered the 50. I paid $32.99 for this piece of crap platter. Waste of money. Never ordering from there again. Look below at the picture i ordered from and what i got.
Take a look at these Powdered sugar señoritas… the one to the left (the big one and under $3) is Vicky bakery and the one to the right (obviously wayy smaller and over $3) is CAO bakery on University and Pasadena Blvd. The true and regular size for señoritas everywhere is the bigger size, but these at CAO bakery is ridiculously small and more expensive
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Dishonest management. Wow. What kind of bakery would do such thing! This is the 2nd time I am buying a box of various goods (pastellitos, guava pastries), and they definitely think that the customer is an idiot and knows no difference! They are selling you flat mushy guava pastries!! And they go bad the next day because they are not baked properly! And the owner tells his team to mix bad product when the full box is purchased and sealed, knowing that you won’t have them open it again. I literally heard him say it in Spanish, I just didn’t realize it was my order. WOW. The prices are high when they sell flat awful baked product?! Aren’t you ashamed? You should be ashamed for practicing such a thing and selling bad quality product KNOWINGLY! Unbelievable. I will be reporting them.
This place is a total let down. Let me start by saying that I have frequented their Miami locations and this location does the name an injustice. Walked in this morning to grab a quick colada and pastelito and there was about 4 people infront of me. No biggie - if you were at another location but the staff here OMG - one lady ringing up customers and making cafecito. There is another lady there that is just walking around half dead, clearly doesn’t speak any Spanish and was having a hard time understanding what the things she was selling were even called. Que pena. We waited no lie for 15 minutes and we still had the same 4 people infront of us. We decided to leave and just cross over to La Carreta ventanita - they were fast efficient like you would expect for a quick breakfast bite. Spare yourselves until they hire more people or take a ride to Coral Way location - the best!
I came to this place last night 10/26/23 I walked in, two employees were talking one went to the back and the other was cleaning the glass counter, she never acknowledged me or said anything. She continued cleaning and ignoring my presence. So I decided to leave after waiting for her or the person that walked to the back. It’s sad that customer service is not a priority for the employees of this branch
I ordered from their own website to have a $50 order delivered for some items to have breakfast with the family. When they delivered I noticed that the loaf of cuban bread was missing, so I called the bakery right away to let them know about it. The girl that I talked to over the phone acknowledged that indeed, the delivery guy had forgotten the loaf of bread on top of the counter. She suggested that I go pick it up myself (missing the entire point of paying for delivery if you have to go back to the store to pick things up yourself) because they couldn't get a hold of the delivery driver again. She then put me on hold to get the manager on the line because she didn't know how to refund the money back to my account. She said I should call the delivery company uber or doordash, I explained to her (again) that I had ordered from their own Cao bakery website but that was beyond her to understand, so she called the manager instead. The manager apologized ( which basically serves nothing, but anyways) and said she would take care of the refund. She said she couldn't do it on the spot but she would do it later. That was a week ago and I still haven't received the refund. Look, it's $2 for a loaf of bread, the refund of $2 is not the point, it's the lack of proper care for customers, if you're treating new customers on a newly opened local like this, you really do not care about your business enough. That's how you loose customers.
I purchase a surprise bag the pastelitos taste very old at least 3 day and the cheese one was bitter
Food has been good along with service, however, prices displayed are deceiving. An item listed for $7.50 was actually $9.99. No advance notice about price increase. When asked, the workers stated they can’t change the price displayed. I guess they can’t tell you either. Spoke to the manager Alan, he apologized but I honestly don’t feel that there’s any excuse. Very disappointed to say the least.
Tried this place a couple times and they just suck. They over complicate things and are expensive. Try to get a simple bread just a simple bread, and the girl couldn’t even figure that out needs my name Social Security date of birth blood type just give me a bread.
Don't waste your money...the pastries are less that desirable and on top of that empanadas and tequeños are ALWAYS cold!!!
Food not good at all was given beef pastries instead of empanadas…. It felt like something I was eating in order to survive .
Not good… not fresh
They sell spoiled deserts here don’t come. The expiration date will say otherwise but once you taste it, smell it, and see the consistency of it you will realize it is spoiled past a week. Very gross. Not coming back, food poisoning guaranteed here.
I contracted food poisoning from this location, the pastry I purchase looked old (NOT FRESH )the empanada wasnt fried to perfection :( unfortunately I didn’t open the box until I was at work ( too late to head back) I know this bakery is a replica of Vicky’s bakery but you quality of your pastries don’t match. The customer service can be better !!! It’s multiple locations ( same dysfunctional service, pastry not being up to par) I’m done with this company, it’s too many disappointments
I ordered CAO to get delivery by UBER. My UBER driver was so nice and kept updating me through the app that he was there but that they did not have my order ready. After a 30 minute wait finally my UBER lets me know he was on his way. When the order gets delivered after waiting for so long half of the order was not packaged. I ordered 2 cafe con leche, 4 croquetas, 2 tostadas, breakfast sandwich and a croissant. I get 2 cafe con leche and a tostada. The coffee was cold and the tostada was soggy and looked like it was sitting on the counter for hours. I was so disappointed. ☹️
They're horrible scrambled eggs made me sick. They are not even real eggs the scrambled eggs are eggs made in a factory. My blood sugar Spike right after consuming their scrambled eggs. Like I was telling my wife the eggs were pretty fake and they are definitely mixed with something. It is not 100% pure egg. It is disgusting for a bakery to serve garbage like this that makes people sick and give them cancer.
The worst service I have ever experienced. I felt invisible. Walked in, two employees behind the counter looked at me and turned away without acknowledging my presence. I was the only customer there. For three minutes one employee was making coffee while the other one was using a brush to sweep up coffee grinds on the counter. He then proceeded to poke the female employee and pointed at me while saying something under his breath. She stood there for two more minutes before turning around. No greeting. No eye contact. With a monotone voice she told me the amount, asked if I needed a bag, then turned the computer screen towards me where I was asked about a tip. She asked if I needed a recept and when I said "no", turned away without saying another word. I absolutely love the products made by the bakery, but definitely will not be going back to this location.
Nasty!. My order was a pastries tray. I didn't know had croquettes I didn't know it had croquettes, reheated many times and sold like that. A total lack of respect. The old and very bad pastries, I think, were more than 3 days old and the croquettes were stale and cold. The order cost $17.00, no one ate, it straight into the trash. I’m really disappointed!
We had the ham and scrambled eggs of which consisted of only 1 slice of ham that you could barely see or taste. The cafe con Leche they gave with the $9.99 meal was a small. We decided to sit and eat there but instead of taking the food to our table they had us get up three times to grab the food. The place was empty at the time and was still empty after we left. There was 1 other customer there that was complaining about how her soda was warm, her coffee was cold and her pastry was too hard to bite into. We are definitely not going back.
Placed order at the location with only 2 other people ahead of me and my food was cold by the time I got home...I only live 5 min from them...there excuse was the kitchen was busy...really, lady!? I ended spending over $77.00 for this crappy breakfast. Overpriced for a breakfast spot. Dont bother visiting this establishment unless you want to throw money away. I could have made a better breakfast myself.
First time customer; I inquired specifically for shredded beef empanadas which I was told $32.99 for 12 empanadas. After coming home and I opened the tray of ground beef empanadas, it was something completely different. Please don't over promise to your customers, it's false advertisement. I will take my business over to Super Arepa for real shredded beef empanadas.
Make sure that when you order your chicken sandwiches you look inside. I found rotten lettuce in mine. The prices are expensive and does not come with the quality you expected and it’s definitely not busy for them not to offer the quality. Very disappointed!! Paid over 15 for a chicken sandwich with rotten lettuce after seeing it lost my appetite.
Worst costumer service. Waiting for more than 20 minutes for some empanadas. I asked the ladies how much longer and they gave me attitude and said they were busy… when they were giving orders to costumers after me. I asked again after 10 minutes what was the hold up and they said they needed to fry the empanadas, when they could have fried them 30-40 minutes ago if they noticed there weren’t any anymore. Asked kindly and got attitude for it. Places with these responses make you not ever want to come even if food were amazing… which by far.. it wasnt!! Once they handed us the food we grabbed our waters by the register and the lady proceeds to check the bag she gave us and says “didn’t they give you, your drinks in the beginning”. Will never return and I know they are okay with that.
They don't even know what the fillings in the cakes are, you ask and nobody knows, they don't even say on the labels, some like the one I asked just say they are good lol how am I going to buy something without knowing what's inside or if it causes allergies or something I don't like, they just say they are good, I've never seen anything like it, they don't even have the option to write on a cake or say congratulations and they are very slow, what they do the most is talk among themselves and you are waiting 🙄 I will never go again, I went because it was close and I thought it was better, very bad experience and super delay, I would not recommend it to anyone!
I’ve never been the type to write a bad review but this needs a review. I order something super basic and it was nasty! I got it cold and it tasted bad like i felt like they had it overnight and reheated and sold it like that. My order was 3 croquettes, cafe con leche and Cuban bread. The Cuban bread wasn’t even FRESH. I’m really disappointed!
The tequño was undercooked it was still doughy, the pan de bono was over cooked it was super hard and the mango shake was water down, they added to much sugar and u couldn’t taste the mango.
Horrible Customer Service. Horrible Staff. Called to order and staff refused to tell me what happened to my food once I came to pick it up (they sent it with a random uber). Constantly disregard customers and issues. Also, charged me double an a non existent order few weeks ago.
Supposedly no manger working to address my situation.ordered an overpriced media noche and get home and noticed the Mid night sandwich had no pickles nor mustard or mayo. How can a Cuban bakery not sell it that way or offering it customer. Called to speak with manager and allegedly no manager working . Spoke to employee who asked cook in front of me and he replied we don’t sell it that way . Fake Cuban all the way . Sandwich was dry and bread was hard . I guess next time I will drive a little father to La Carreta a real Cuban establishment . This incident happened on Thanksgiving at 4:15. Manager would not get on phone as employee tried to get him on.
Someone must be depth at this location they have a speaker so laud that you can even talk to the attendant. The attendant so nasty when I ask why music so loud. Very bad for business
