Al centro di Perugia il ristorante offre un eccellente menu con piatti abbondanti e stra buoni. Il servizio è eccellente e l’accoglienza è 10 e lode. Consigliatissimo.

Siamo stati a cena in 4 alla Taverna di Perugia e l’esperienza è stata semplicemente eccellente! Ogni piatto è una delizia: la tatin di cipolla e i crostini di polenta con ragout umbro sono un antipasto perfetto, ricco di sapori autentici. I ravioli al tartufo nero con parmigiano sono un vero capolavoro, delicati ma intensi, mentre il filetto di manzo e il tegamino di filetto di agnello con torta confermano la qualità e la cura nella scelta delle materie prime. La selezione dei vini è impeccabile, ideale per accompagnare ogni portata. L’ambiente è raffinato, arredato con gusto e attenzione ai dettagli, creando la cornice perfetta per una cena speciale. Un plauso particolare alla proprietaria e ai ragazzi del servizio, professionali e sempre attenti a ogni esigenza. Consiglio vivamente questo ristorante: una vera esperienza culinaria da non perdere a Perugia!

Una scoperta autentica nel cuore dell’Umbria. La Taverna è una di quelle trattorie che ti fanno sentire subito a casa. L’ambiente è caldo e rustico, perfetto per gustare la vera cucina tradizionale umbra. I piatti sono preparati con ingredienti genuini e sapientemente cucinati: dalla pasta fatta in casa ai secondi di carne, tutto profuma di tradizione e passione. Lo staff è cordiale, attento e sempre pronto a consigliare. Si percepisce l’amore per il proprio lavoro, e questo rende l’esperienza ancora più piacevole. Ottima anche la selezione di vini locali. Un luogo dove si mangia bene, si sta bene e si torna volentieri. Consigliatissima per chi cerca sapori autentici e un’accoglienza sincera!

Non ho che parole di plauso per questo locale nel cuore di Perugia dove abbiamo cenato sabato sera. In 8 da Caserta, abbiamo apprezzato la raffinatezza del locale, la coniugazione dei sapori, l’affabilità del proprietario che si unito a noi per qualche minuto raccontandoci della sua bellissima moglie. Un uomo educatissimo , di grande sensibilità e attento all’inclusione con i suoi ragazzi di diverse nazionalità che ci hanno serviti con garbo e professionalità. Grazie di cuore per una cena raffinata e di qualità. Torneremo!

With no reservations for a light Sunday lunch - our 12.30pm walkin secured a table near the front - felt fortunate to see the professional skill & care the maitre’d & staff took with all patrons… many were regulars. The cappelletti in brodo was flavorfull & delish; whilst the gnocchi cooked perfetto in ragu…. Wish we were regulars & not touristi.

We went without a booking and were lucky as it was busy being a Friday. We were placed in the wine cellar which was great as it gave a lovely atmosphere. The waiting staff were brilliant and as wife is senza gluten this was not an issue. The wine was Umbrian so complemented our meal beautifully. Disussing our pleasure with the owners at the end of our visit was a lovely end to the evening there. Thank you.

Wonderfully quaint and authentic Italian restaurant. We were lucky enough to have a personal interaction with the owner and head chef who spent many years cooking at high end restaurants in the United States. The food here, restored our faith in Italian food after having “meh” experiences in Positano and Rome. Best ravioli pasta we’ve ever had!

Very beautiful restaurant tucked away off a main street in Perugia. The food was delicious and offered several seafood and pasta dishes. I appreciated the complimentary glass of prosecco upon arrival, and despite being a higher-end restaurant, still offering table wine in addition to nicer bottles.

Well, it probably was a bad idea to go to La Taverna on the first day of our holiday in Umbria, because from then on, we were chasing the same quality and experience as what we got at this place. We ended up returning on our last day because nowhere else matched La Taverna. Food, impeccable. Service, fantastic. The location, stunning. I think my favourite part though is how you can see the kitchen as you go in, instead of having it hidden away at the back like many other restaurants. You can see chef Claudio and his team preparing your dishes! I was even invited to come in and photograph the team as this was happening. A detail which I thoroughly appreciated was how whenever we said we were sharing a dish, it was split over two plates. (The Camembert starter in the photo is one of those examples) This allowed us to try more food between us! The dessert trolley was such a lovely touch. We didn’t think we could fit anymore food, but seeing the desserts rather than just reading a menu sure opens space for a little sweet treat in your belly. What a wonderful experience. We will be back to Italy just to return to this place.

Wonderful Italian food right in the city center and 1000 times better than all the restaurants on the main strip. The atmosphere and service was also very welcoming, which was again a very pleasant change of what we had been experiencing. If you're in the center area of town and looking for a pleasant meal, this would be my first recommendation!

ALWAYS (2 for 2) a highlight of our trip to Italy. We couldn’t wait to get back to see Chef / Owner Claudio and his staff. He greeted us warmly and spent some time chatting at our table. Best meal in Italy, it's a restaurant that we want to return in Perugia just for the food. Heavenly made dishes.First of all it's the middle of the town in the historical roads arches and monuments and breathtaking views minutes away. The restaurant itself it's so cosy and romantic with traditional character they have as well incredible cellar with a great selection of wines we had an Umbrian wine Montefalco Sagrantimo elegant and earthy just perfect to accomplish our food. Now food ohhhh I can't describe the quality the flavours and the presentation literally made it one of the best meals and we had it twice even both times unbeatable. We tried the lamb chops cooked to perfection and the had special pork shank now that I never had it before slow cooked marinated with magic was the most tender meat was falling apart from the bone don't know how they cooked. We had an incredible starter as well onion with pure can't remember the name to be honest but I never thought that an onion can taste so good. We tried as well homemade tortellini with mozzarella and tomato with spinach pesto could eat all day to be fair. Excellent. The chef came out on the table and was extremely friendly and you could she how much he cared for everyone being in the restaurant and when the food came out we knew the reason. Of course all the staff where nice and looked happy to be where they are. All these within very reasonable price for the whole experience worth it .

This is the best of dinner that we ever had in Perugia. If you ever come to visit this town, you must go there to try on their food. 😍😍😍 When we sit down, they serve us champagne and breads. Right after, they serve us cold soup. 😋 this is before we even ordered our dinner. Our dinners were perfect! We didn’t want to have any heavy food, and we like to share our dishes. They separate each dishes into two. ( see photo) so My boyfriend and I didn’t have to separate it ourself. At the end, the chief (the owner) drove us back to hotel. We have such wonderful experience at this place that we would come back Italy just to eat here! ❤️❤️❤️

Buonissimo! Truly incredible experience. Absolutely wow! This is my fiancé’s favorite restaurant in the world and now I know why after going two nights in a row. The first night included: chicken liver pate, onion tart, pappardelle ragu, Gorgonzola and beet pasta, filet, strawberry tart, and a bottle of montefalco rosso. The second night included: spinach/bacon/parm salad, clam pasta, arrabiata pasta (not on menu), truffle ravioli, pappardelle ragu, key lime and ginger cheesecake, tiramisu, and two bottles of montefalco rosso. My favorites were: chicken liver pate, clam pasta, pappardelle ragu, strawberry tart, tiramisu, and montefalco rosso. However, everything was delicious and I feel confident saying the same for the other menu items I was not able to try. La Taverna is more than just about the delicious food. It’s about the entire experience, from the moment you’re seated to the moment you roll out of there. The polite staff seat you immediately to Prosecco and potato and leek soup. I felt like the most valued customer and I’m sure the other customers felt the same way. I was luck enough to meet Chef Claudio the second night. Chef Claudio is a wonderful and genuine person with a great sense of humor. He made my finance and I feel extremely special even sitting with us for 5 minutes to help us order. Chef Claudio and his staff made the experience truly incredible. I cannot wait to come back.

Siamo stati un po' di sere fa a cena, il posto si presenta molto tipico e carino all'interno. Il personale all'ingresso si è presentato molto disponibile, in fase di attesa ci è stato portato un assaggio di prosecco e di zuppa di legumi. Nel momento dell'ordinazione il personale si è mostrato particolarmente strano, alla nostra richiesta di una parmigiana come antipasto la capo sala ha esordito con la durata di cottura della portata e esclamando che ci fosse da aspettare trenta minuti affinché uscisse in contemporanea agli antipasti. Dopo aver rifiutato quindi di prendere quel piatto la capo sala si è presentata poco dopo con delle affermazioni come se ci stesse facendo un favore. Non si tratta in questo modo un cliente, mettendolo in imbarazzo in tutta la sala. Posto sconsigliato per questo. Rapporto qualità prezzo pressoché uniforme.

Bel locale al centro di Perugia, ma molto turistico. Lavorano ovviamente sulla quantità. Piatti tutti già pronti e non vedono l ora di mandarti via, per far accomandare qualcun altro. Più che taverna lo definirei un ristorante. Buona l'accoglienza del personale, bello l'ambiente; c'è Perugia anche all'interno. L'antipasto (camembret caldo in crosta di nocciole) molto semplice, buono ma scontato l'accoppiamento con la granella di nocciole. Il formaggio era di buona qualità; mi sarei aspettato una maggiore lavorazione del formaggio e più nocciole, non risaltavano. Ho avuto l'impressione che il formaggio sia stato riscaldato col miroonde, come le patate del secondo piatto, una faraona ripiena di salsiccia (?) e erbe di campo. Non mi ha entusiasmato a causa della faronosità delle patate, sicuramente riscaldate al microonde (troppo calde rispetto il resto del piatto) e con un sapore non troppo gradevole, come di fiocchi di patate o di sentore di frigorifero; buone invece le verdure che accompagnavano i piatti. La faraona era ben cotta forse troppo, un pò asciutta. Ho apprezzato il bilanciamento del ripieno con la noce moscata. Servizio veloce e personale professionale. Rapporto qualità/prezzo a favore del secondo.

The main courses, dessert and service were excellent, but the appetizers were rather disappointing. The restaurant is located in a pastoral and beautiful setting, with very elegant décor. The service was wonderful, and as soon as we sat down we were served a small plate of thick and very tasty soup to warm us from the cold outside, a glass of prosecco, and slices of garlic-seasoned bread. For starters, we ordered a terrine with pistachios and black truffles, and a sort of salad with melted burrata cheese. Unfortunately, both were quite disappointing— the terrine was very bland in flavor, and the salad dish was cold, as if it had just been taken out of the fridge. For the main courses, we ordered black truffle ravioli and tortellini stuffed with mozzarella and tomatoes with spinach pesto. Both were excellent; the pasta was perfectly cooked, and the ravioli came with an impressive amount of truffle shaved directly over the dish. For dessert, we had tiramisu, which was classic, simple, and good. To finish the meal, we were served a local chocolate liqueur that left a wonderful aftertaste. The prices are also quite reasonable — we paid a total of €100 for two people, including two glasses of wine and a tip. In summary, if not for the big gap between the appetizers and the rest of the meal, I would have gladly added another star.

Beautiful location and restaurant! Food however was meh - everything was pretty bland and over priced in our opinion. Lentil soup starter stuff had no seasoning. The bread was terrible. I always order chicken liver whenever I see it, but this version was borderline gaggable to me - it tasted like they prepared it by blending cooked liver with plain water. It was a very metallic-tasting soupy mess served with some bread that would crack a tooth. Where's the flavor? Cream and butter? Garlic? Anything!! The onion tart was nothing special, but the sauce on it was actually good! I was pretty excited about eating some truffles so we ordered the truffle ravioli, but the truffles shaved on top had absolutely zero flavor. They could have been flakes of cardboard. The pasta itself was fine. I wish we'd had a chance to try our apps/pasta before ordering our entrees, because we wouldn't have continued the meal honestly. The lamb was cooked med rare but had little flavor (like everything else) - and they cut all the fat off! The highlight was the fish and potatoes. The fish was cooked nicely. Oh and the nice chocolate dessert drink was very enjoyable. Service was pretty cold to us as well (except for one person who was super nice). Maybe because we're tourists? Sorry?! No idea why this place has such high reviews.

La Taverna ha molto poco di una taverna, più che altro mi sembra quasi un ristorante di lusso, specialmente per i prezzi. Una persona dall'aria svogliata siede alla cassa, non sembra molto convinto. Non ho apprezzato il fatto che hanno fatto entrare due cani grandi nel ristorante. Non ho apprezzato che dalla porta della cucina aperta si vedeva il mio piatto pronto che si stava raffreddando in attesa che qualcuno me lo portasse (il ristorante era vuoto, c'ero solo io). Non ho apprezzato che con le stesse mani che hanno toccato questi due cani, la cameriera in cucina avesse preso dei semi di papavero per cospargerci il mio piatto. A proposito dei semi di papavero, io sono un autista di pullman e non posso mangiarli, perché veniamo sottoposti a test a sorpresa per droghe e i semi di papavero indicano un utilizzo di droghe in questi test. Avrei apprezzato che me lo avessero chiesto prima se li volessi. I ravioli a forma di caramelle erano un po' scotti e la salsa di Gorgonzola mi sembrava un po' smorta, un po' annacquata, poco saporita. Comunque non erano male. Per finire ho preso un caffè, che era talmente imbevibile, che non l'ho neanche finito. Il pane caldo e croccante era molto buono. L'interno del ristorante non è piacevole, le pareti bianche e fredde stonano. C'è un misto fra moderno e antico che stona. Aggiornamento: trovo la risposta arrogante del proprietario inopportuna. Le critiche costruttive dovrebbero essere accettate come un punto di partenza per migliorare e non prese come un'offesa personale. Io viaggio moltissimo per lavoro e mangiare fuori per me è la norma. Sono molto pratico di ristoranti e ne visito una decina alla settimana. Ho trovato in questo ristorante delle cose che possono essere migliorate e un atteggiamento come questo non aiuta certo a migliorare.
