We came out to this place for my mother's birthday. We actually got caught up behind traffic because of a wreck in Liberty Hill . showed up exactly 1 minute before they closed the door but we already had reservations. The staff was gracious enough to allow us to be seated and have our food cooked in front of us even after hours. I want to thank everybody from the store for not only providing good food, friendly service with a smile even under the stress of us being late, but providing my mother with a piece of cake with a candle lit for her birthday. My family enjoyed it and we will be back. God bless.

Had an amazing experience here at this place. Food, atmosphere and our hibachi chef was the best. Food was super tasty. We had to wait for a 20-30mins but spent that time at the bar and enjoyed great hot sake and appetizers. Tried beef, shrimp, chicken and lobster. My favorite is as shrimp. I would definitely go there again for sure. It was my wife’s birthday so they even did a small celebration for her. A must visit place. By the way pro tip- ask for this chef to make your table super fun :-)

Some of the best sushi rolls I have ever had. We walked in and the hostess made sure our party of 9 had a table right away. I think they may have been short staffed because it took a LONG TIME to get our drinks and food. But the wait was so worth it! Delicious and would definitely recommend this place to other people!

First time at this location and overall it’s what I expected. Not sure if it’s a chain but sure felt like it. The service was a little pushy which I get because they want all the tables full before they start cooking. Overall quality is what I expected and some tables had enthusiastic cooks while others like my table had the guy just going thru the motions. Not bad if you never experienced hibachi but also not great.

Overpriced subpar food. Everything came out quick and was presented nicely but either was over seasoned dry. My son ordered yakisoba and it was soooo salty like maruchan ramen. My other kid got the veggie fried rice chicken plate and it was good but the fried rice was sort if hard and dry as well as, the chicken pieces. I ordered 2 rolls and both had zero flavor. The service was great but we spent close to $90 before tip i just expected fresher more flavorful food.

This was my second visit, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the first. I’ve only tried the sushi and fried rice here (maybe other dishes are better), but as a sushi lover, I didn’t find the sushi very fresh. This time, I couldn’t even finish my roll because it had an odd taste. The fried rice was also disappointing—bland and lacking vegetables. If you’re coming for sushi, I wouldn’t recommend this spot. Additionally, the service was very slow, even though there were only three tables in the whole restaurant.

I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely slow, and the server didn’t even greet me properly—just asked if I wanted something to drink. I ordered a roll with cream cheese and specifically asked for it to be added, but it arrived without it. When I asked about it, the response was indifferent, and instead of fixing the dish, they just brought me a plate with a few slices of cream cheese on the side. I only ate a little and asked for the rest to go because I lost my appetite. I actually like this place because the food is good, but the service this time was really poor.

Solid 2 stars. Food and drinks were ok. Decor was a little weird being they still had Christmas deco up in the far corners of the ceiling in September. Dining in was a little too close for comfort as the tables were real close to each other. During cleanup the staff is pushing around a cart to efficiently pick up the plates and reset the tables but you can imagine how difficult this is with the tables close up on each other. It was comical to watch guests try to squeeze in while the staff rams a cart in-between tables. My wife has an allergy to red dye, we had a very hard time getting both of her orders right. One was ok and another fried in a pink wrap which is made from red dye, so the waitress took that one off the bill after one bite. Service was slow as it was Friday and a busy night. Our main entrees made it out before the appetizer. Then we had to continue to ask about the edamame. A soda refill was like 5-10 minute wait including having to track down the waiter 1-2 times during the wait. Then several times we had random waiters stopping by random tables asking if guests ordered what they had in their hand. It was a little bit of chaos and comedy.

We visited Shogun Japanese Restaurant with a party of 16 to celebrate my daughter’s 15th birthday. The restaurant was busy with many birthday celebrations that night, and I observed several tables receiving the drum performance along with a plate that said “Happy Birthday” and a slice of cake. The staff clearly knew it was my daughter’s birthday. She was wearing a birthday sash, was given a light-up birthday crown by the restaurant, and the chef personally told her happy birthday during the meal. Despite this, our table received no birthday acknowledgment while others around us did. After everyone in my party had already paid and some guests had begun to leave, I felt uncomfortable and singled out, especially since we were the only people of color in the establishment. I asked to speak with the manager. It took a long time for him to come out, but when the waiter mentioned that one of the teenagers supposedly hadn’t paid, the manager appeared immediately. When I raised my concerns, the manager, Bao, claimed that a birthday plate had been “in the fridge ready,” which did not make sense given that our checks were closed and guests were already leaving. Only after the issue was brought up did they attempt to bring out the drum, which felt like an afterthought rather than a sincere gesture. When I expressed that the situation felt discriminatory, the manager accused me of being racist and threatened to call the police. When I asked to speak to someone higher than him, he stated there was no one else. Additionally, when we asked our waiter for to-go boxes, he rolled his eyes and passed the task to another employee instead of assisting us. This experience was embarrassing, dismissive, and completely inappropriate — especially during a child’s birthday celebration. No family should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected. We will not be returning.

Ordered on DoorDash they showed up 50 minutes late and the mochi was melted the food honestly was blah. It taste like Midwest old people Campbell’s soup sushi I had no flavor. I ordered two separate rolls and basically they were identical just a different charge. I feel robbed. I feel like I wasted my money on plain white rice and cucumber, which is so cheap spent $84 total will never order food from here again don’t waste your time.

Awful. We went last night for my wife’s birthday. Terrible terrible terrible service. Not a single smile from the waiter. Rushed to order drinks. Rushed to order food. Rushed to eat food. Rushed to pay. Rushed to kick us out. That on top of the food being way overpriced for being mid. Wish I wouldn’t even have tipped. Never again.

Terrible service, everyone.There was concerned about their Halloween costumes.Instead of servicing the customers. They set us with a birthday group and the chef cater to them and completely ignored us. It was 40 minutes before we even got our salad and soup. Please set there for 2 hours just to eat hibachi, and the place was completely empty. The service here has really went down.It used to be a great place very fun.Wonderful chefs.Now it is not the same and it's completely different from what it used to be.They must have sold it. I recommend you go somewhere else

My husband went searching this morning for something I could finally eat after being very ill in the hospital. I had just gotten the okay to have clear liquids and, after not having an appetite for a week, I was really looking forward to a simple soup. He arrived at the restaurant only minutes before opening, and although the door was open, the manager raised his voice and repeatedly told him “I don’t care, I don’t care. We open at 11:15.” Rather than showing any professionalism, compassion, or basic respect, the manager chose to escalate the situation. My husband, understandably upset, raised his voice in return before leaving. Thankfully, the bartender showed kindness, apologized on behalf of the manager, and even offered to help. But the way the manager behaved left such a negative impression. It’s disappointing when someone representing a business acts in a way that reflects so poorly—not only on themselves but on the restaurant as a whole. This manager needs to do some serious self reflection and be reminded that you don’t know what kind of day, week, month the person walking through their door might be experiencing. From a usual patron, I will no longer be going back to this facility. Do better.

Overall 3⭐️⭐️⭐️.. (**Note - 2 weeks later 05/26/2025 and not one person from management has reached out with so much as an apology ~ definitively the worse Mother’s Day dinner ~ would have been better to have just cooked at home.) Let me first start off with the service and atmosphere. Went today 05/11/2025 which is Mother’s Day. I was so hoping for a nice dinner and conversation hence going to a hibachi grill. Well when arrive and greeted by a lovely young lady and sat us within a minute of arriving. The table we were sat at had already ordered their drinks and were in the process of ordering their meals. This did not deter us as we already knew what we wanted to order so when the young lady came around to us, she politely asked us what we wanted to drink, and to give us a minute to look over the menu whereas we replied, we already know what we want so she took our order. I ordered combination, chicken and steak with steak cooked medium, and the young waitress even repeated the order and went on to take the rest of the group’s order. Now they cook comes out and proceeds to ask each individual regarding the order to confirm. When the cook got to me, he asked me chicken steak steak medium, and I replied yes medium and There were several of us in the group that ordered steak one ordered, I ordered medium and three others ordered medium well and I believe one ordered well. So as he’s gotten to the part where he cooks the steaks, he cooks the young ladies medium rare hands to then he proceeds to cook the other three the medium well and then I noticed he forgot me, cause I should’ve been after the medium rare well, there’s two steaks left the one that was supposed to be well done and mine. The one that was supposed to be medium Now at this point I already know that he’s over cooking my steak because my steak sitting there on the grill still cooking on one side he proceeds to put the steak on my plate, however by this time, I didn’t even really want the steak, but I went ahead and let him put the steak on my plate. As this was Mother’s Day, I didn’t want to cause too much of a fuss so I didn’t say anything now I didn’t eat it because it looked too overcooked. As far as the food taste all the food did taste good had good flavor. So will I be back to this restaurant, probably. I will give them a second chance, but that’s all I give a restaurant is a second chance. I was very disappointed in my Mother’s Day meal not being cooked to my specifications, even when the cook confirmed how I wanted my steak cooked.
