Porto Piazza Vittorio Emanuele Terzo Reviews
I really enjoyed this place. Right on the promenade. Fun to people watch if your not enjoying the view of Lago Maggiore. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and tasty. I love that they don't push you to vacate the table. You can sit and eat at your pace and then hang out as long as you like. I would definitely come again...and I did during our stay.
We chose Bar sport after wandering along the lake side to find a place to dine. The restaurant was busy with plenty of tables occupied and seemed the most welcoming. We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. Our meals were delicious! Huge portions and freshly cooked. The price was very reasonable. We would not hesitate to recommend the Bar Sport based on our experience this evening.
Excellent smoked swordfish carpaccio for starter, mediocre mushroom pasta for main, disappointing tiramisu which was 95% whipped cream for pudding. Busy, good atmosphere and good service.
Mushroom Pizza had a pre-fab crust and canned mushrooms. Brushetta was on low grade grocery store white bread, all very meh. Views were great, but no greater than any other water front touristy resto. Hubs said “you get what you pay for!”
We sat here just to enjoy a bit of the lakeshore views. In my opinion, a classic tourist fast-food restaurant, quite disappointing. However, there is not much more Cannobio could offer you in contrast. The service was disappointingly slow, with staff appearing indifferent to customer needs. The menu was mediocre at best, but hey - we enjoyed some views and did not eat much anyway. If you are looking for better dining options at Lago Maggiore, rather plan your day differently - stop by in places like Stresa where there is bigger variety of options.
Great to watch a sports game, absolutely awful if it comes to Italian food. We ordered a carbonara that wasn’t a carbonara, we order bruschetta that was a pizza, we ordered saltimbuca that was a grilled pork steak... so don’t know who’s in the kitchen but an basic Italian cook book would do miracles...
If you do not want to attend, no problem. But say it at the beggining, and we do not waste time. Vergogna.
Wait was for ever. Wanted a quick cappuccino and plain croissants, spent 40 min there…
Extremely Disappointing Experience… We waited a long time without receiving any service, even though the restaurant was far from busy. We were seated under the scorching sun, and when we tried to open a sun umbrella ourselves, we were yelled at in an unnecessarily rude and aggressive manner. The staff’s attitude was completely unwelcoming and far from customer-oriented. Needless to say, we left immediately. Definitely not a place I would recommend.
We waited nearly an hour for our food (not very busy) and when it arrived I got carbonara without cheese (neither pecorino, parmeggiano or grana padano), pepper or egg. It tasted very off and we all around the table came to the same conclusion. It was full of mayonnaise(!). As you can see on the plate they used indian spices as decoration and also revealing that they used that to give the yellow/orange color of the dish. The pizza is small, feels premade, non fresh and it has for example canned mushrooms. We didn't finish the dishes and the waiter asked us what was wrong and we explained the situation. The waiter said that "you have to ask for "real carbonara" if you want one because otherwise they will serve a "German carbonara" since they have so many German tourists. It feels like a joke but they really said it. I have no idea how the rating can be so high here on Google. Simply do not go here.
