Hoagies Pismo Beach Reviews
A Chef from my home town, recommended Hoagies over Splash Cafe. This was an interesting take, so I definitely sacrificed the hour wait in a line for the Splash Cafe chowder to check out Hoagies. I had to order my two “go to’s” -to weigh the competition. I’m, convinced. Hoagies, takes the medal 🥇
Really enjoyed this place! The veggie sandwich was amazing, even with the omission of cheese and mayo. Will definitely be back!
This place is great. I love the food, and love the atmosphere. My only issues were that we ordered several amazing breakfast burritos and nothing was labeled. That being said it's not that big of a deal for such fantastic food. My co-eaters experienced uneven portions of food in their burritos however I did not. I highly recommend eating here if you have the opportunity.
I come here often because I have a condo just above this place. So I have to make sure I eat here every time I come for a visit because I smell the food all day. The food is alway amazing and the portion sizes are extremely generous, it’s always more than one meal. The outdoor space is a great place to eat and they always have good music playing. Whether it’s dine in or take out this place is always a home run.
I was just driving through and picked this place to have dinner. Great service from what looked like the manager. Also, the blonde woman that took our order was very savvy and kind. I could tell the food was made fresh by order. You can also watch your food being made, and it was a very clean kitchen. I ordered the fish and chips with clam chowder (I ate one before the photo). The fish and curly fries were crispy and tender. Clam Chowder was delicious. I was cold and ordered a hot chocolate as well, did not disappoint. Next time I pass through, I will be coming here!
The food is delish. At first, we were intimidated by the line out the door, but it ended up moving quickly. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, and my husband got pulled pork. I was actually pretty shocked at how much juivy flavor was packed into the sandwich. Phenomenal. Take out fries were soft / not crisy at all, so if I went back, I might ask them to make me some extra well done. Their homemade ranch dipping sauce was also really good as well.
Yes!!! I was looking for a place to eat just like this one while visiting Cal Poly with my son for football recruiting. This place reminds me of my football college town when I was younger. I love the grilled onion smell and the uneven tables. Food was great and the money was spot on especially with high inflation. Staff was friendly. I really love this place because there little to no masks in sight. If I'm paying I should be able to wear what I want to wear. Great experience. I'd recommend this location!!! 👍🏾❤️
Great sandwich place at Pismo Beach, it gets super crowded so plan accordingly. We ordered a veg sandwich and a chicken one - Both delicious and comes with a LOT of fries. We also ordered their house made lemonade and mocha which was good too. I’d definitely come here again to try other sandwiches.
I had an awesome experience at Hoagies! If you’re looking for a laid-back local spot with seriously good sandwiches, this is it. The hoagies are packed with fresh ingredients, generous portions, and tons of flavor. The bread is perfectly soft with just the right amount of chew, and everything tastes made-to-order. Whether you’re grabbing something classic or trying one of their specialty sandwiches, you really can’t go wrong. It’s the kind of place where you immediately start planning what you’ll order next time. The staff was friendly, quick, and welcoming, even during a busy rush. You can tell they care about both the food and the customers. The atmosphere is casual and beachy, making it a perfect stop after a day by the ocean. If you’re in Pismo Beach and craving a great sandwich, Hoagies is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!
Great service, vibes and food. They are also dog friendly on the patio. I had the dirty buffalo which was tasty and large enough to be split into a 2nd meal. The only thing I didn’t like was the price, I paid around 27 bucks for the meal, a drink, a side of ranch and a tip. I probably would only go here every once in a while for a meal and not as a go to.
We come here often when visiting Pismo Beach and usually get the Cuban sandwich. It's okay, but it's straying away from being an actual Cuban sandwich with too much spice in the pulled pork and very messy to eat. It's supposed to be a simple handheld sandwich and less of a full meal. Other things we have tried on the menu are very good. The loaded Bloody Mary is great, and so is the Clam Chowder with seafood topping. Service is always great, and the atmosphere is really cool with great music in the background. Seems like the prices were high, but so is everything.
Very busy restaurant for lunch. In my case, we took more than 10 minutes waiting in line to order the food and took another 30 minutes to get the food. Each dish comes with curly fries. I don’t really like them since they were really soft, not crispy at all. So I would upgrade them to salad or other sides by paying extra if I came to this place again. Fish and chips is also so so. I believe they are having hard time to control the food quality due to the high volume of the customers.
Food is good some menu items taste better than others. If you’re watching carbs and calorie intake choose wisely. Gross that they touch the cocktail garnishes with dirty fingers tho. Outside tables are dirty and lots of bird poop everywhere.
Big portions, chill vibes, but I picked the wrong wrap I stopped by Hoagies in Pismo Beach and ordered the Nicco wrap with a cup of chili. The portion sizes were huge, so definitely come with an appetite. The chili was hearty and satisfying, but the Nicco wrap didn’t quite deliver on flavor. It has tri-tip, salsa, avocado, and curly fries, but the ingredients didn’t blend as well as I hoped. I later found out that the Pismo Wrap is their most popular item. It features tri-tip, pepper jack, avocado, curly fries, and BBQ sauce. I wish I had gone with that instead. The atmosphere is relaxed with a nice little outdoor patio. It was super busy when I visited, which added to the beach-town charm. Overall, it was a fun experience and worth trying, just make sure to ask the staff what’s most popular before ordering. I’ll be back to try the Pismo. Overall worth it!
I had a mixed experience at Hoagies Sandwich Shop. On my first visit, I tried the Cuban sandwich, and it was phenomenal—perfectly balanced flavors, crispy bread, and just the right amount of everything. It was easily a five-star meal. However, my second visit was disappointing. I ordered the Steak & Turf Burrito for $29 (before tip), expecting something substantial for the price. Instead, I got a burrito that was half full of fries, with only one or two pieces of shrimp and thin, roast beef-like steak portions. It felt more like filler than a premium meal, and overall, it was very underwhelming. It’s tough to leave a three-star review because the Cubano was outstanding, but the inconsistency between visits makes it hard to fully recommend the place. If you go, I’d suggest sticking to the sandwiches.
I mean it was in a good location. Parking on the street. Other than that, I wasn’t impressed with the tasteless meat on “a popular Hoagie” was expecting a savory taste because they’re making the meat outside in a huge bbq pit or whatever that was. The meat wasn’t moist either. Did I order the wrong thing. Beef jerky on a bag had more flavor. Also, the service was okay. Glad I tried it, not my favorite place.
