We have only eaten here once but everything was very good. I'll agree with others that the prices are on the steep side but if it's good food I don't mind paying it. My husband and I had a pleasurable experience and will be back.

Pittsburgh has a number of locally owned Italian restaurants and Cioa sadly does nothing to stand out. Their pastas as well as their desserts are all store bought! With that being said I have had dinner here 5 times and I decided along with my party that we wouldn't be back. A major complaint is the owner Nick could be heard yelling at his wife the chef over an order which made things very uncomfortable for us. The saving grace was Jane our server. She was very pleasant throughout and very catering. The owners clearly want a fine dining restaurant yet can not deliver.

Some good some bad. Ate there at 5 o'clock on a Saturday. We were the first ones there, but a good number of tables had gotten their food before us. I had gotten the chicken romano which was tasty, but was one smallish breast in a large bowl with some average pasta on the side for $24. For how small the chicken breast was, $24 was a steep price. Others in our group got pizzas and they were tasty, although overly season with crushed red pepper which made the one pizza real spicy. All in all 2 pizzas and 2 chicken dishes took us an hour and a half, even being the first ones there. If I could give 2.5 stars I would.

My wife and I decided to have diner at Ciao 2 after shopping at Robinson Town Center on a Friday evening. We got to the restaurant around 9:40 PM. Nick, who I believe to be the owner, sat us at a table. The waiter came with menues and took a drink order. There were only two other tables with people in the restaurant at the time. We placed our orders and were talking when we saw Nick come out of the back with his coat. I figured he was done for the evening and was leaving, I didn't expect him to turn off the music and turn up the lights. We were served our salads and before we were finished our entrees were brought to the table. As we ate, we listened to chairs being moved around and the floor being sweept, chairs were then put up on tables, we watched the floors being mopped, and finally the sweeper being run. Now I realize that everyone wants to get home at the end of the day, however, if they were in that much of a hurry to close, they should have told us they were closing and we would have gone elsewhere. We were not asked if we wanted desert although we would not have ordered it anyway. We were very uncomfortable and just wanted to leave and we did. I will say we have eaten at the restaurant three other times and found it to be very enjoyable. We will not eat here again, the noisy sweeper was the final straw, The restaurant has a nice cozy atmosphere, the food is ok, and the waiter who was attentive and checked on us, was also busy cleaning and mopping, not what we want to see while dining. We have never been in a restaurant where this has happened. Good luck to Nick and his staff, hopefully his other customers are more understanding than we are, we found our experience to be unacceptable.

Bland food, overpriced, INCREDIBLY slow service. Only seemed focused on older customers who received food and beverage within half of the time we did, while there were only 3 tables being used in the whole restaurant. We waited an hour for our food and received half-hearted apologies from the waitress, only to find that the 30 dollar plate tasted only of oil and a hint of garlic. If I'm spending 99 dollars for two people, the food had better have more flavor than that. The pasta was also overwhelmed with kale - there was more kale than spaghetti.

OVERPRICED!!!! Poor value! This is a small place in a strip mall, so why are the pasta dishes without meat over $20? I could eat a cheaper meal at Ruth Chris. Service was not great either. We were finished with our soup/salad for several minutes with empty plates still in front of us when waitress breezed by and asked if we were ready for her to put in the entrees. I thought that was a given..... We ended up putting the empty plates on another table since she didn't clear them. Also, entree portion of $28 chicken marsala only had one medium sized chicken breast. Waitress told us that portions were very generous.....that was untrue. Spent $84 on 2 cocktails, 1 entree split between 2 adults, extra salad, and toddler penne with meatball. Will NEVER go back.
