Mario's Plainview Reviews
Their food is delicious. Pre-covid I would enjoy sitting there. They have a tree in the middle of the restaurant that gives a nice relaxed feeling. I get take out now, the food is phenomenal!!!
Foods good when they dont spit in it P.s. What amazes me even more is that your employees denied any wrong doing when i called. You should be ashamed of the way your employees treat your customers. Peter, I'm sorry to upset you, but one of your employees at marios ristorante did in fact spit in my food, so no i wont take my review down. I didnt want to write this review, i made it because of how upset i was after looking at my food, and after calling the restaurant and your employee called me a liar.
Went there on a wednesday night, a tad late and everything was superb. They were nice with my kids, food was excellent, pricing was fair. First time there, We will be back next time in the area
I've been frequenting this eatery for over 10 years. It is CONSISTENTLY delicious, well apportioned food served by attentive and friendly staff at reasonable prices. This is the "no brainer" destination for Italian food.
The BEST and NICEST in Plainview and surrounding area for a GREAT Pizza and some fine Italian Food at extremely reasonable prices.
Mario’s is my favorite restaurant. Quick great service , the food is always delicious, I’ve never had one complain about any of the waiters/waitresses. Highly recommend this place
Went there for some NY style pizza but decided to get the Stromboli. It was huge! Next time I will order one and just split it with someone else. Its a really nice place with lots of options to pick from.
Great bang for the buck. Moderate prices for exquisite food. Willing to accommodate and make dinner selections to your liking.
Rolls and garlic knots basket was placed on the table. Had the vegetariano panini and Greek salad. All delicious and prices were reasonable too!
I grew up in Plainview and also come here or the little one right in the other small shopping center but I like coming to this one because the owner Peter always remembers me by name and I haven’t been here in years because I no longer live in Plainview but here for 2 weeks and I had to stop in for their awesome pizza!
Family restaurant that makes you feel at home
Excellent service very nice atmosphere waite staff extremely helpful and friendly. Food is always consistently good.
Excellent food and service We had our rehearsal dinner party there! Highly recommend Staff and service outstanding
Gluten free pizza 5/5
Had a party of 10 at 12:30 on a Saturday. Food was excellent, service was excellent, kids enjoyed everything. Would definitely go back!!
As someone with celiac this restaurant is a staple. I tried it this weekend and it’s going to be one of my favorite date night, family dinner, special occasion choice! I got the gluten free calzone and gluten free alfredo w/penne. The calzone was very good! They used a cauliflower crust folded in half with the cheese, which i loved because i am a big fan of cauliflower crust. It wasn’t too heavy and was very filling. The alfredo was also just as amazing. I haven’t had a good alfredo since my diagnosis. Most sauces are very oily and gross but this was was WOW very creamy and cheesy. It was delicious, I couldn’t stop eating it! I highly recommend going there and will definitely be back plenty!!!!
Not your typical red sauce Italian place. Wide variety of dishes from veal to seafood. Enjoyed fresh salads and tender fried calamari to start. The salad portions were generous and the calamari crisp without being greasy. Also enjoyed veal picatta with a lemon base which was flavorful but not sharp. Another great dish was the almond crusted flounder which was a nice alternative on an Italian menu. We’ll be back.
Love this restaurant. My first time there. The food was amazing and the staff friendly and very attentive.
Excellent food! Just wish the eggplant parm had another layer or two. That would have been nice.
If you're on the hunt for the perfect pizza, look no further than Mario's Ristorante & Pizzeria – an Italian eatery that sets the bar high for pizza perfection! As a pizza enthusiast, I can confidently say that Mario's serves up some of the most mouthwatering, pizza pies I have ever had the pleasure of indulging in.
The best Italian food and pizza in the area!!
Went for my wife's 60th birthday lunch . I want to say this restaurant. deserves 10 stars for service food and ambiance. Everything was excellent will go back again soon
Had a good experience at Mario's, had been there with family for dinner. Good veggi options in pastas and pizzas. Soup and pizzas were awesome. Enjoyed the food there and will look forward to visit again. Will reccomend to visit this place. Like this if this review has helped.
Such a beautiful restaurant! Food was fantastic, service was prompt and courteous too. Owner has a great heart for the community! We will definitely be back - we are up to at least 6 visits!
Went here for an office holiday party. The food was great. The portions didn't look big, but they were actually very filling I would definitely eat here again.
Amazing dinner place!!! Fantastic pizza there chicken vodka pie is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had
it was my first time at Mario's. I was quite surprised that's the way out the restaurant. While waiting for the rest of our group to arrive I had the best Kamikaze cocktail I've ever had. The food was terrific but the garlic nodes where a delightful treat. I ate Caesar salad, Penne alla Vodka, chicken marsala and the wonderful desserts. We were served family style and it was done with ease and grace. Gabriella was a wonderful bartender and is super waitress. I'm truly sorry that I live so far away in Queens, but I hope to return sometime soon to the restaurant. A truly wonderful experience, Ruth
My husband and I stopped at this restaurant on the way home without knowing about it and will definitely come back when in town. DELICIOUS FOOD AND SERVICE, and the chicken noodle soup was also delish and homemade. We highly recommend it.😍
We just had a babyshower today. Everyone raved about the food. Including myself. Staff was fantastic and didn't have to wait for anything. Recommended for any party to a dinner for 2! Thanks!
Wife #3 wanted a “classy Italian night,” so we hit Mario’s. Ten minutes in, wife #1 walks by our table—locks eyes, squints, pauses. I slam my wine glass, yell “MAMMA MIA!” and pretend to propose to wife #3 on the spot. Chaos works. Wife #1 claps and walks away, thinking it’s a coincidence. Then wife #4 walks in with her cousin. Her eyes scan the room like a heat-seeking missile. I dive into the waiter station and carry out a plate of lasagna to a random table, whispering, “Play along or I die.” Right as I breathe again, wife #2 calls saying she’s outside picking up takeout. I run into the bathroom, wipe off my cologne with a breadstick, and walk out pretending to be an Uber Eats driver. Every dish was fire. So was the panic. Would dine and deceive again.
I recently dined at Mario's and had the pleasure of trying their Chicken Romano dish. Let me tell you, it was fantastic! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. If you're a fan of Italian cuisine, I highly recommend giving this dish a try. The service at Mario's was also polite and attentive. Our server was friendly and helpful, and always made sure we had everything we needed. It added to the overall dining experience and made us feel welcome. Overall, Mario's is a great Italian restaurant with fantastic food and attentive service.
Cozy pizza parlor, including a contemporary art exhibit ✨️ I enjoyed a hot, thin, square crust grandma slice with the works. One of a kind of sugar knots was to die for.
Wanted to share a quick meal with my husband after a shopping trip and while driving down Old Country Road came across Mario's! Surprisingly it was quite for a Friday evening - the atmosphere was calm and the servers were very friendly! The food came out nice and hot - the aroma was very stimulating and we polished off our Shrimp Scampi & Pizzette in no time. We were so full that there was no room for dessert - for once we decided to listen to our tummies and gave it a break!! Will definitely stop by for a cannoli, in the near future... Thank you Lord!
Mario’s Ristorante saved our dinner party! We ordered full trays of the Greek salad and chicken verde. Both were amazing and everyone loved the chicken, it was absolutely delicious. The order was ready on time, very well packaged & looked beautiful. It also came with free pasta and great rolls. Such a lifesaver, we just could not cook enough variety for 25 guests. The chicken verde & salad were huge hits and were fully consumed! Great party resource for us!
Mario's Ristorante & Pizzeria blew our mind! Our third grade class went on a field trip to Mario's and we couldn't be happier (or stuffed)! As we entered the restaurant, the staff greeted us right away. They all had huge smiles on their faces and seemed genuinely happy to see us. Our tables were ready for us and we were seated right away. We were offered water or lemonade as soon as we sat down. Next, we were given baskets of hot, garlicky, and cheesy garlic knots. Wow! They were delicious. Up next was pizza or chicken strips. If you were really hungry, you could have both!! Let's talk about the pizza. It was served hot. The crust was crunchy and the pizza was cheesy. The chicken was also served hot and crispy, and you need to dip it in the sauce that came with the dish. It was amazing! When we were done with what we had, we were offered more! The waiter was very friendly and was checking on us constantly to see what we needed. He cleaned up all of our plates and napkins as soon as we were done. All of the staff waved goodbye to us and thanked us for our visit. Mario's is the place for you if you love good pizza and good service. Now, hop in your car and go there!
We went here when traveling to N.Y. and it was a Sunday night right before they closed. We got excellent service and we were grateful to be fed and felt badly we kept the staff past closing time while we enjoyed our meal. The two pizzas and pasta dishes we ordered came out perfectly. We really like the Mario's special pie and the Sicilian pie for all 8 of us. The restaurant was spacious and inviting. It had a nice feel to it and I was surprised that they had a second story to serve guests. I want to thank Mario's for providing excellent service and making amazing food.
Pizza is awesome, first off. Service is always awesome. We come here all the time to eat in, and we went last night, a super busy Saturday. We did have to wait, which was totally fine, and the staff were audibly discussing with one another that we were waiting and they were trying to get us seated as soon as they could. They kept checking in with us, and did not once seem to forget about us waiting. Our server was super attentive, friendly, and we could see them ALL busting their butts, including the kitchen staff, who were literally running back and forth to bring out dishes. All the servers were communicating, helping each other take large orders to tables, and as chaotic as it actually was, they made it seem so effortless and smooth, and really worked as a TEAM. (Also, that chicken Romano… how I did not know that existed before is a crime) Love coming here!!
My company has their Christmas party here every year
Looking back in the last 2 years, we've made Mario's our 'go to' neighborhood Italian restaurant and eat-out pizzeria. Yummy food, nice serving size, very nice ambience, excellent service, reasonable pricing, returning customer!!
Best sausage roll I've ever had. Other items were great too. I would stay away from the gluten free mozzarella sticks though.
Love the staff especially john n Stella, try the chicken Verde n the garlic knots to die for we bought an extra dozen home for mothers day. The chicken parm and chicken Verde are delicious. I was there yesterday the waiters name is yoni not Johnny and the food was fantastic.
Hosted my grandma’s 90th birthday bash- food, atmosphere, service 10/10 Peter is great to work with and a gracious host
Mario's has several very good pizza places but this is their only fine restaurant with white tablecloths. We were there for dinner. The tables and chairs, and booths were all comfortable. The wines by the glass were good, and better bottles are available. The server was experienced. We both had chicken Marsala, our favorite. The food was served hot! The chicken was very tender. There was a lot of sauce and many mushrooms. The sauce made the meal! We took home the leftovers.
Mario's pizza is the best Italian Pizzeria on Old Country Road in Plainview! Mario's restaurant is clean and bright. There are many windows which allow a lot of natural light which makes the atmosphere warm and inviting. The waiters were so kind and very friendly. They always asked our needs and provided us with the quickest and friendliest service. Our food was brought out to us in a timely fashion. First, we had delicious garlic knots which were warm and garlicy... just the right amount of garlic! Then we had chicken fingers which were crunchy on the outside but oh so juicy on the inside. They even give you marinara sauce to dip! Soooooo delicious! The pizza was so cheesy and the crust was crispy and fresh. Nothing better than a pizza pie right out of the oven. What was even better was that they were so accommodating for our gluten free guest who had his own special pizza and fried chicken. Our lemonade was sweet and refreshing. Our dining experience was thrilling and amazing. We will definitely be going back....soon!
We were looking for a restaurant to host about 32 people on short notice for a memorial luncheon to celebrate our father, who passed away recently. Mom suggested Mario’s, their favorite restaurant for takeout. With just a couple of days’ notice, the manager (Nick) helped us put together a wonderful meal that covered everything from appetizers to salads and main courses to drinks and desserts. We were able to book one of the upstairs rooms, giving us lots of privacy, and we are grateful for the attentive service by David and team. The food was wonderful, as always: Fresh, tasty, authentic Italian fare, nicely presented family style. Thank you to Nick and the wonderful staff for feeding us so well and making us feel comfortable. Dad would have been delighted. Sincerely, The Porretto Family
This was my first time dinning here. I had lunch with some clients. Beautiful atmosphere. The Garlic Knots are to die for. I had Grilled Chicken and Burnt Broccoli from the side dishes. OMG absolutely amazing. The chicken was so good and tender and the Burnt Broccoli with roasted garlic was delicious. My clients had the Salmon, Broccoli Rabe and rice dish that they also raved about. The staff was great. I will DEFINITELY be back it was that good.
Great pizza. Super friendly staff. Good prices.
Love the food which is rare for places that make a great pizza. Dishes are flavorful and there are tons of healthy options including whole wheat & zucchini pasta. They have also added a new gluten-free menu for those who may require. Staff is very helpful, courteous and knows us well.
Delicious as always!! Best gluten free Italian food on Long island, hands down
Mario's is the place to go! I love their arugula salad and gluten free pizzette best, but everything I've ever eaten there was awesome! Staff is friendly and efficient and their prices are really good! I love having a neighborhood restaurant where I know I can always go and feel welcomed and get a great meal!
Enjoyed a nice lunch here for a friend's birthday. Food was very good and the service was great. There was a nice variety of Italian meals on the menu in addition to pizza.
Always a great meal Always professional and friendly service. Always fresh, tasty ingredients. A local gem
I love their pizza. I never miss going there when we visit Long Island. The Sicilian pizza is the best. Their dinners are great and they have great, friendly service.
We went here after a wake. The good was excellent the young girl from Argetina was the best great personality adorable. The owner was very personable . I will go back again and again
Nick M is truly an outstanding server, one of the best I've encountered ever. His warm, thoughtful, and personable approach makes our dining experiences even more enjoyable. The food here is consistently excellent, with the BBQ Chicken Pizza being a standout favorite. And the garlic knots served in the bread basket at the start of the meal are a delicious touch. Every restaurant would be lucky to have someone like Nick M on their team!
I had a fantastic experience at Mario’s Ristorante in Plainview, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Nick M. From the moment we were seated, Nick made us feel welcomed and taken care of. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. Nick had great recommendations, knew the menu inside and out, and made sure everything came out just right. He checked in at the perfect times, made us feel like valued guests, and added a personal touch that truly elevated the entire meal. The food, as always at Mario’s, was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But the standout of the evening was the service. If you’re dining at Mario’s, I highly recommend asking for Nick M. He’s the kind of server who turns a good meal into a great experience
I just had a 21st birthday party for my daughter this weekend. Peter was amazing on helping me put together all my details on contributing on making her night so wonderful. The service was amazing they went above and beyond, the food was beyond delicious and the atmosphere was perfect, a hidden jem for a party. I highly recommended!
Update 6/15/2023 Another great meal at Mario's. Great food and great service. Thank you Alex. Oh, can't leave without ordering canolis. I have been eating at Mario's for years. My family has been ordering take-out from up the road since well before the Restaurant opened. My wife and I had our wedding reception here 17 years ago. The family gathered here after my Dad's funeral (he loved Mario's too) We just came to celebrated my brother's birthday. The food quality and service is as good as it has always been. Marios is definitely our favorite Italian Restaurant.
We walked in , it was packed ,it seems a party of 20 just showed up . No worries for manager Narcis and the staff , they sat us down , and the family feeling set in . The food kept coming out , we we're able to view all the different dishes , everything looked and smelled so good . We ended up ordering a Chicken Marsala , a Zucchini Parmesan , Lasagna and Chicken Parmesan , everything was mouth watering great , When we finished , we couldn't budge , but we ordered dessert anyway. A chocolate Moose , Creme brulee cheesecake and a couple of Tartufo's . Thanks to Narcis and the staff for , not only a great meal but a great experience .
Our favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant. Out of their several locations in the area, we like this full service sit down restaurant the most. Spacious interiors, good noise levels (i.e can hear each other), excellent service. We love the food from Mario's, dining in makes it more enjoyable.
The food is great here and so is the service! I love the Mario's restaurant. The owner is so kind and funny as well. I always feel welcome here. Today I went in the morning and they baked me a fresh buffalo chicken roll which is amazing! I asked to have garlic butter put on top and they did it with a smile! The owner even said that I gave him ideas. I will most definitely be returning often. The food quality is amazing.
I love Mario's Penne Alla Vodka. It's definitely one of my favorites. Their pizza is decent and the inside is nice looking. I've mostly only come here with family, so coming here with 20 people is a very different experience than with a small group or just 2 people, but with the one 2-person date I did have here, the service was exceptional. Their garlic bread and garlic knots also rule. Love their Eggplant Parmigian Hero as well.
Mario’s is our go to for good, basic Italian food. The garlic knots are the best. The salads are fresh, and food is very tasty. The service is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend.
Awesome, so much cheese! Never disappointed at Mario's! Friendly staff, and the best garlic knots! I tried their sugar knots too. Great treat similar to the zeppolis.
My favorite of all the Long Island Mario's. 2nd floor seating available. Friendly staff and great for groups. Easy to see right off of Old Country Road in Westbury New York. Plenty of parking and a wheel chair accessible entrance. Reasonably priced. Clean facilities. Public Restrooms. We will definitely be going back.
Had a great time as usual. Hosted my wife's surprise party upstairs. Peter hooked up some good dining suggestions, Nick made sure room & everything was set right up the way I needed. Johnny was 1 of our waiters & made sure everyone's drinks & plates were kept full. Highly suggest the Spicy Calamari (Actually Sweet & Hot), as well as the Barata as appetizers. Both a big hit. They rolled us out as everyone was stuffed. Especially after the unreal Napoleon cake. Check it out you won't regret it. We'll be back for another family party for sure.
Usually order take out from here so I knew the food was good Panini with side salad was perfect lunch. Service was attentive and pleasant. And they have outdoor seating for spring weather.
Lovely family owned spot celebrating 50 years in business. Great food, clean and comfortable dining area, convenient take-out, and terrific option for a private party upstairs in the private room with balcony. Garlic knots made on premise.
Food was pretty good and good service. A complaint i have is the water brought was gross it tasted like dirty tap water. It basically forced us to buy a bottle of water. They need to clean their filters. Keep in mind i also added lemon to try to drown out the dirtyness but it still was pungent tasting
Nice small pizzeria. We get pizza at times from here, and also garlic bread. The garlic bread is very good, and they have great varieties of pizza which is sold by slice or by the pie.
The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Service was timely and friendly. However the food was disappointtedltly just- okay- for an expensively priced meal. Rigatoni chicken in pink sauce lacked flavor.
Defntly a long wait to get seated....started off on the wrong foot ....Nick sat most of the table of 2 & 3 ....but understandable we had 3 toddler's. We asked for the most expensive Pino on their menu.....but it had to be "ice cold" waitress seemed annoyed. We just got in from the Milleridge Inn Halloween festival....great for kids by the way! So back to Mario's ...another Long Island eatery that house's locals only....but not as bad as Huntington Village! Surprisingly food was very very fresh & delicious....great tasting wine & ice cold!! Our table did not have any complaints ...very satisfied with quality of authenticity in Italian food.....we all thought bill was super reasonable for a table of 5. Thanks Nick & staff for a great last night dinner after a long day of fun!
It's a nice restaurant with inside and outdoor seating options. Food is decent with enough choices. One irritant for me was the staff coming up way too frequently asking if we wanted anything more and interrupting the conversation. We eventually got the remaining food packed and left the place. Apart from that, all ok.
Food is fair. Their are better options nearby.
It was good but not as good as I thought. A lunch for 6 ladies was over 230 without the tip. We were there at 12. They left us alone but it wasn't warm and friendly as I remembered it. Downstairs bathroom is a single one for men and women and it could have been cleanee
Unfortunately not the Mario's I grew up with. Pizza doughy, cheese sauce integration non existent. This place was great 30 years ago. Now disappointing
Was ok. Service was nice. Atmosphere was nice. Food was a bit of a letdown. This was our first time here, but it would not be a "go back to" place. Food was not BAD, just not great. My chicken was paper thin and dry/way overcooked (if you're going to pound/slice it thin, you gotta REALLY watch it when you cook it.). Had to hunt around a bit to find flavor - not subtle, just missing. Eggplant was ok - again, flavor a bit lacking (better than chicken dish though). Fried squid seemed fresh made, but a bit oily and the coating kept falling off (got to get it somewhat dry before coating it, or it won't stick well). Looked nice in plate. To be clear, nothing was bad, and we ate everything either there or next day. I would just try another place next time. Dinner was about $50 for one appetizer and two dinners.
Service: Workers behind the counter touch pizzia with their hands without wearing gloves. They touch money, then the oven, then pizzia. Pizzia: Pizzia is not evenly round, pizzia is not cut in even slices, and toppings are not evenly spread across the pizzia. Atmosphere: Dreary and.could use a good mapping.
Ordered Panini Caprese Prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, arugula, tomato and served with a mixed salad. and it came with mayo, I do not eat mayo. They offered to fix it but I don not send food back.
I've been a customer for years. The ownership is truly a step above but the employees are not at that level. This is what happened. I ordered a simple pie for delivery. The pie was still raw and cold when delivered. When I called and said what happened, the manager immediately corrected the mistake. But that's not the bad part. A couple of days later, I stop in for a quick slice. The pizza man literally gave me a hard time because I had called to complain a couple of days prior. I will never again come to this place. It's a shame because it is a great local place. But the treatment is sub par at best.
Went there for our date, honestly, the food was meh. Didn’t really understand why it’s always packed and definitely wanted to go check it out for myself. So, the best thing we had was the Caesar salad, it was fresh, crisp and nice! Things took a turn when we ordered our entrees, I got penne Al vodka with grilled chicken and my date got Chicken parm. For Penne Al Vodka- the sauce didn’t have any flavor, at first I thought it could use a little salt then I thought maybe red crushed peppers but nothing fixed it. And the chicken, even though it looked appealing but it was dry. For Chicken parm, the sauce was so runny, maybe next time if it isn’t as runny, it could intact more flavor? We barely made a dent and left. Service was nice tho, will not be going back. :)
Taco pizza fail. When the bottom of the box liquified onto my lap on the drive home, i opened the lid to find almost an entire head of undrained brown lettuce and american cheese over tomatos and a portion of ground beef. The cook should have fed that expensive slop to his family and see how they like it! About to gordon ramsey these guys and make them take a bite of brown wet warm (not hot) lettuce!
They say there open till 9 but I called at 830 and they picked up the phone and said they were closed. So I guess it’s cool if we “support our local businesses” in these tough times but who cares about the community rite especially when I personally have been ordering 3 times a week $100 plus orders each time but like I said I guess they don’t need the support anymore which is fine because they definitely lost my business
The food was not good It was cold and or warm. Very disappointed. My company was not happy. 170.00 worth. It was embarrassing to say the least
The food is just ok and not enough of it sorry will not be going back..
The food was surprisingly good, but the service was terrible. I encountered a very rude young lady behind the counter who had an attitude problem. She took our order and then just dropped it on the counter when it was ready and walked away. She didn’t ask of we wanted beverages or to pay and then proceeded to take other orders. Disgraceful help in a respectable establishment.
Want to give it no stars an account of them trying to send my wife to the hospital on mother's day through incompetence. Who the hell serves bread with a GLUTEN FREE meal and then pats himself on the back saying "We serve free bread with everything" and "What's wrong you look upset?" This attempted poisoning occurred after a half hour delay in the order while they remade the screwed up orders with the end result being my wife and sister-in-law ended up not having Mother's Day dinner with their children. DONT EVER GO TO MARIO'S RESTAURANT THEY ARE THE WORST! INCOMPETENT, RUDE AND INSENSITIVE TO FOOD ALLERGIES!!!!
My mom got a pizza pie yesterday delivered but the pizza wasn't fully cooked and I ended up getting food poison i will never order from this place again I won't recommend this pizza place to anyone don't get place food is horrible
I ordered pizza and when it was ready the young girl shouted over to me to tell me, she then totally forgot about me started answering phones and taking other orders whilst my food was getting cold, when I asked if I could pay she went in a complete huff like it was my fault she forgot and give me the most awful look, her customer service is absolutely disgusting!!!!!! It's a shame because the grandma slice was delicious but i definitely won't be returning.
Plain pizza boring not flavorful at all. People and place nice enough. Had other slices before of other varieties that weren't as bad
How can an owner be so foolish to upset 6 regular customers so badly that he lost them?! On Friday 13, the tall owner, I believe his name is Peter, at the Mario’s restaurant at 635 Old Country Rd., Plainview, did just that. We went once or twice a week for years for dinner and drinks, and had multiple parties upstairs. My friend is a baker and always brings her special occasion cake to Mario’s restaurant without a problem. Friday she made a cake celebrating 2 of the regular’s birthdays and brought it. The owner, would not allow it. He caused an embarrassing scene demanding $9 a guest to cut the cake for us. He said he’d be losing money if he permitted customers to bring their own cake. He could have done it very discreetly for customers your wait staff knows very well. He embarrassed us all in front of the entire restaurant, in our own neighborhood! He was condescending, rude, and disrespectful to people who bring him customers and money. A friendly, caring owner would have bought us a round of drinks as a thank you for being such great customers and celebrate the special days at Mario’s restaurant. We will never go back for any reason. The 6 of his once loyal customers will not be walking into his restaurant again. He lost at lot more than $63!
Honestly I've had great pizza living in New York all my life. There pizza may be good but when I ordered it was so undercooked ! I could taste the dough. Other people have said the same thing. Someone needs to teach them how to cook Italian food properly ! I like my pizza well done and crispy!!!! Not doughy and under cooked ! Then the owner had a big attitude and said what do you want me to do ??? Waste of money NEVER AGAIN !
horrable food and service and manager is not helpful
Careful when you are booking the party room. I needed a place to hold a pre-HS Reunion get together. I stopped here and spoke to Peter the manager. They have a party room upstairs that would work. My dilemma was that I couldn't nail down the exact amount of people attending. Peter told me that's okay "I want to earn your business". When I hear that I know that this person is willing to work with me. I called him two days in advance to say I have possibly 16 people coming...maybe less, maybe more. He said no problem. 15 showed up but 2 had to leave due to a family commitment. So 13 all together. When I received the bill, he charged me for 15. When I pointed out the mistake, he told be there was a minimum of 15 upstairs. He never told me that and on the package sheet he gave me when I first walked in, it's not mentioned at all. (see photo) On top of that, we only received plain pizza. No other pizza types were offered which was part of the package. So I paid for 15. I work at a popular Long Island destination just a few minutes away. I have people from out of town always asking me where is the best Long Island Pizza...trust me, this place will never roll off my tongue. I guess you will never earn my business. Foot note: Nicholas, our server was outstanding.
Great place for adults- NOT kid friendly. No kids menu offering. Surprised they purposely do that in the restaurant area. Good for kids for slices only - food is good and service too- might be on purpose- so if you like to dine without kids, come here. that can be a plus, otherwise stick to resturants that publish kids menu's. If they have a secret kids menu, or a unofficial kids menu, they are not kid friendly. for adults i recommend it, like an adult cruise or a all inclusive, if they welcomed kids they would publish/print a menu. When my kids are grown i will return....
