I live local to this establishment and I always find myself landing here. I seem to venture in when a particular bartender is working I think her name is Ashley but I heard people call her "Becky" maybe a local thing or her chipper personality. Any who, I have a great time and she is very accommodating to me and the patrons I escort in with me.

The food menu here is a sleeper. Portion sizes better than any other bar in the area. Come here if you don't want to be bothered by the usual South Wedge bar crows.

My now husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was awesome! Before finding this gem we searched through all of the many mainstream options the city of Rochester has to offer for restaurants and everything was the same; boring and overpriced. I then came across Toasted Bear Tavern, which happened to be the location of our first date 8.5 years ago. From my first communications with the manager Jesse he was amazing and eager to help. He went above and beyond, from meeting with us prior to the date to see the renovations and taste the outstanding food. To the night of the dinner, he was extremely easy going, flexible and personable. We would work with him and his staff again in a heartbeat! On top of the excellent service Jesse provided to make it a wonderful night, the food was out of this world. I heard so many times that night and even days later how awesome the food was and what a great time everyone had! I would recommend this place not only as a fun bar/ restaurant but also a great place to host a party.

I feel like they would do better to have at least one more person to help with that, but I realize that might not be feasible. We were lucky enough to get the last 2 fish fries left at 7:30 Friday night. Our waiter rushed to inform us so we wouldn't lose out, if that was what we wanted. We have had fish fries all over and these might well have been the best!! There use of cod is rare and the beer batter was as light and crispy as it could possibly be. The steak fries alone were in a league all their own. I was diggng, hoping to find just one more! Only the coleslaw was rather typical and ho hum, but with the giant fish portion, who cares about that anyhow? Never went beyond the bar area, but that was exactly as it was during previous ownership. Also a good selection of tap beers.

Went for the Vegan food. Loved the Vegan Wings The Buffalo Mac was very dry and had no cheesy flavor, just Buffalo hot sauce taste. My non vegan friend loved the Buffalo Mac he got.

I even got some music I requested from newly inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Roxy Music 🎶

Supposedly has vegan options but we went here and ended up leaving because they're menu wasn't accurate so most vegan options weren't even available.

It's decent, laid back atmosphere, not really the cleanest of places but not bad enough to push me away. Drink prices were very good, didn't get a chance to eat the food but my friend got some vegan wings and said they were really good.

I ordered the Buffalo chick'n Mac and Chesse with a side of fries (cajun season added) after reading the CITY paper and the review about the vegan menu that TB offers. I would give 3.5 stars if they allowed; the staff on the phone when I ordered was super pleasant and helpful, the fries, although they dont come with cajun seasoning, I asked for it and thus made a great steak fry. However, the mac and cheese I was a bit disappointed. It's more of a penne with a few slices of "chicken" with a buffalo sauce that has a thickness of an alfredo more than that of a "mac and cheese". Good nonetheless.

It's ok. Not a great beer selection but the food is decent bar food, although it's a tad pricey for what it is. Staff always seems a bit confused/overwhelmed, but friendly enough.

worst service of my life - waitress made me feel like i was agitating her. literally looked me in the eye and tossed my food across the counter at me. they dont have a great selection of beer, and the garlic parm wings were flavorless. would not recommend

We live next door to this place and it couldn't possibly be less neighbor friendly. Grease pit stinks to the point we can't open our windows. Wouldn't order bottled water from this place.

The bartender here seemed stressed out and was very disrespectful to a large group of patrons. He yelled at them and about 20 people left the bar all at once.

They served us soup that looked 4 days old, was burned and had an overall over cooked look. They "comped" the bill by not making us pay for the soup which is an obvious right thing to do but failed to go further and offer to buy the one drink we had. Pretty sure I will never go back

Waiter wrote in incorrect tip after leaving stealing 10 dollars from me. I called stating the overcharge staff was rude. Had to charge back with my card company.

Went here with friends last summer and the bartender and every patron in the bar were watching South Park on the tv. No conversation among anyone and made for a weird college dorm environment. Christmas decorations were up in the middle of summer. Slow and unfriendly service. Rancid vibes all around
