D'An Playa del Carmen Reviews
The prices are a bit higher compared to nearby places, but the restaurant is clean, well maintained, and more appealing overall. The portion sizes and taste were perfect. It’s usually quite crowded, but I was lucky and didn’t have to wait—definitely worth it. I tried the tortas, and they were cooked perfectly with great flavor. Everything tasted fresh and was well prepared, making the meal very satisfying. Highly recommended if you’re looking for quality food in a clean, well-located spot.
The steak was delicious! And the queso fundido with chorizo was veeeery tasty. I’m a cheese lover, and their melted cheese 🫕 is absolutely great. Definitely recommend this place.
Wonderful service and incredible steak, pastor, and chorizo tacos! Our server took great care of our vegetarian friend creating custom fajitas for her. Their pineapple salsa is to die for!
The best authentic food in playa del Carmen. Affordable prices and delicious taste. This is the most tourist friendly version of authentic food that you can get here. Tastes very authentic and is easy for non Spanish speakers to order
This is a must try place if you are eating in Playa de Carmen. The sirloin steak is fantastic, tender, and cooked like you ask them to cook it. The Don Burro burrito is a challenge to finish because of its size and meat contents. Laticia was our waitress for this visit and she was fabulous...just look for her big smile and personality. We have eaten here on multiple occasions because of the flavor, price, and staff.
Had a wonderful dinner with friends. Today super friendly staff from the moment we were led to our seat, finishing our dinner and saying good night. Place is nice and clean and the food is absolutely exceptional! I had the chicken fajitas while my friends enjoyed the sirloin burger. Fina coladas were a perfect touch to the end of the meal! Highly recommend Don Sirloin’s.
Delicious. Was open Christmas day!! Was packed but the lines were moving. We've been here twice already. The beef, pastor meat platters were my fave (el trompo) you get your selected meat weight with tacos and you build your self. Also loved the costra which is basically crispy cheese as the base (in place of a taco) with meat. Keto, carnivore friendly. Fast service. Reasonable prices. Enjoyed the food here.
Don Sirloin is a very good spot and one of my go-to places whenever I’m in Playa. The food is always great, and this visit was no exception — everything tasted excellent and our server was friendly and attentive. The only downside this time was the wait. While our tacos came out on time, items ordered from the kitchen took much longer than expected. For example, our guac appetizer didn’t arrive until we were almost finished eating our tacos, which kind of defeated the purpose of ordering it as a starter. Overall, still a solid place with great food and service. Hopefully the timing improves on future visits, because it’s usually one of our favorites.
we were looking to try tacos and local cuisine and many reviews said to try Don Sirloin so we decided to check it out. we ordered the nachos, guacamole and beef tacos. the tacos came with the meat grilled on one side and tortillas on the side. the tortillas were good, the meat plentiful, and the taste decent. the guacamole was good but the nachos were a bit of a let down. the previous day we had gone to a more local restaurant nearby and had a similar menu and their nachos were better overall nice ambiance and decent food with good serving size and good flavor
It is a shame that being in Mexico we have only this kind of options. If you are looking for a good tacos unfortunately won't be here. The pastor and sirloin that they have on the "trompo" have an strong artificial flavor...meaning don't feel like fresh meat plus to much condiment. Is not bad but could be way better. The prices are ok! The ambient is nice. They are couple blocks away from 5th Ave and Av. Constituyentes.
Food was ok. They mixed up our order and gave us something we hadn’t ordered (sirloin instead of al pastor), which probably affected how much we enjoyed it. We did, however, get to try a taco al pastor, and it was delicious! I honestly think if we had received what we originally ordered, it would’ve been excellent. We also tried costras de pollo — not really our thing, but to be fair, it was our first time trying that dish. Overall: nice spot, moderate noise, and no wait time. The tacos al pastor are definitely the highlight.
We came right as they opened for a pre-airport lunch. The tacos were just ok, probably wouldn’t come back again. I could tell the meat hadn’t been cooking long enough, but again, they had just opened for the day. The agua fresca was way too sugary & didn’t taste fresh at all. The mango salsa was good though.
Very bad service careless employees poor quality food. Place looks clean and prices are fine but I would not recommend to eat here. We are Disappointed.
