Good environment, good food, nice servers and reasonable price! Crab cake is a must try, clam chowder is thick and creamy, fish & chip is crispy and juicy. However, shrimp cocktail was as good as expected as then shrimp wasn’t fresh. Raw oyster was barely ok as the price is not high. Desert was good too as the size is not huge. The melted cookie and cheese cake were both good as we tried.

Our family went down to try Wence's. My parents always rave about it and now I certainly know why. A Sheek curtain meets you to a luxurious bar dro and a soft velvet booted chairs if you stay to dine! Definitely do the dozen oysters definitely get the Cool Kids IPA! Don't forget the Rockefellers oysters too! Gorgeous presentation and delicious to the last chew!

My husband and I spent our 15 year anniversary here today. Even during the New Years Eve rush, we still received excellent service and delicious food. I will most definitely be back soon.

We were here for a Christmas lunch party. Food was awesome and lots to choose from. Had the fish tacos and the fish and chips. Everything nice and crispy and flavorful. Service was excellent. It was a little too noisy but the room was full of guests. Would definitely come back.

Food is above par, good selection of seafood, oysters, meats, salads and pastas. Indoor/outdoor (dog friendly) seating, and a big bar inside with TVs. The service here is always great, a few weeks ago 2 of my family members brought their little dogs (3 dogs total) and there wasn't any outdoor seating available so they let us sit in an un-opened section of the restaurant. Never had a restaurant manager/staff do something special like that for me. All around good experiences, been here about 6-7 times.

I ordered Thanksgiving plates from across the country for my dad and his wife to pick up. I was so thankful to find a beautiful restaurant close to him that was open for Thanksgiving service. He preferred carry out, but my dad said that the interior is so nice that he would love to go back and eat inside. Over the course of two days, I spoke to three separate individuals just to make sure they’d be open and to place my order. Everyone was so incredibly gracious and nice and I’m so thankful to everyone there who worked so hard on the holiday!! My dad said the meal was delicious, especially dessert. We’ll be eating there soon and will be back next Thanksgiving!

A friend introduced us to Wence's this week. My wife had Fish 'n Chips that were outstanding. My friend had the beet salad which is favorite and I had the Shrimp Louie which was very good. It was a little noisy inside which made it a little more difficult to hear but was tolerable. Meals were priced reasonably and service was good. I would definitely go there again.

I had a very nice lunch on a Tuesday and it wasn’t very crowded when I first got there. I had my dog with me so we had to sit outside, which was lovely. I had the cheeseburger with a salad and it was quite reasonable I thought. Haven’t been there in sometime since they’ve expanded

We enjoyed our birthday night out here and did the early bird dinners. The lobster chowder was delicious and my chicken was very good as well. Dining companions had the pasta and enjoyed it, fish and chips, and the salmon. The gelato dessert was well presented and tasty as well. Portions are ample without being over the top. We would go back again.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! We have lived in the area since 2012 and never been. What a mistake. We love it and highly recommend it.

I dined here for dinner while in town and enjoyed the good service, delicious food, and drinks. There are plenty of indoor and patio dining areas and a couple of bars (regular and oyster bars) to enjoy the relaxing yet lively atmosphere. We ordered a few starters and drinks; the oysters were fresh and tasty, and the ahi tuna tostadas were so good I could have eaten a couple of plates. The clam chowder was creamy and flavorful. The Dungeness Crab Stack was a fresh and filling dish. The lump crab was cooked perfectly, and the presentation was nicely executed. The house-made cocktails menu had a few eye-catching options. I tried the Maya-Thai because it had Licor 43 Liqueur (which I like), fruit juices, and walnut bitters, and it seemed interesting, but it was just okay. I would pass it up next time and try another house cocktail. The rest of the table enjoyed the drinks they ordered. Though we had reservations, we waited about 15-20 minutes for our table to be ready. We had a decent-sized party of nine, and it was busy, so it was a little wait. The noise level, however, was moderate to high, so conversing was challenging. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience and would return for the drinks, to try new foods, and to enjoy the vibe.

We absolutely love the food here and come here at least once a year for our Anniversary or a special occasion. The food is fantastic and if you are a seafood lover you have lots to choose from. Carnivores also have options! The parking can be challenging during dinner hours because this neighborhood shopping area is actually filled with all restaurants and a couple of small businesses & they all share the parking. Great for date night. However, it can get very loud in this restaurant. You find yourself yelling at your dining companion if you're trying to have a nice conversation. It's best to get cozy and sit next to each other! They do take reservations, and I highly recommend you do for dinner. I'm sure brunch probably gets pretty busy as well. On average, if you have drinks with your dinner and an appetizer, expect to pay at least $80 per person. Highly recommend the raw oysters and calamari!

Loved Loved Loved this place. The drinks were yummy, the food was delicious. The service was awesome. Definitely a must try.. I ordered the Seafood Grill. I enjoyed every bite but I just loved the deep fried polenta. So good!!! Perfect place for any occasion.

Service was great. Suft and turf was delicious. Mixed ceviche was delicious The chicken was ok, it was oddly sweet. Chocolate chip banana bread pudding was delicious and in a gigantic portion. They had live music going on that night. Mixed drinks were ok but would definitely go back.

My service was good. The food can use some work. The mac n cheese was a little too soupy in my opinion, but had good flavor. The Tuna tostadas are worth the drive for me. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 I loved the spread/sauce that coated the tortilla. I didn't even need or care for the side of ponzu, they were good as they were. The wedge salad was decent, I would order it again with a few mods. The cheesy garlic bread was super delicious ( save some for your entree). We ordered the lobster fettuccine and replaced it with the lobster tacos because the sauce for the pasta was bland and soupy. My husband enjoyed the lobster tacos. If you're a drinker, the bartender made the heck out of my old fashioned. Very very good. I'll be back to try more things. I enjoyed my dinner date here.

We’re not foodies but an I say but we eat out often. We travel often. The Cesar salad was sad…small..no dressing. The scallops while reading them seemed delicious mentally. I got 4 covered in a bunch of sauce leaving the taste of a scallop undetectable because it was masked. Which by the way for the cost of their 4 you can buy a pack of 12 at Whole Foods an cook them better. Seriously a little salt an lemon is all you need. Less is more. When you pour soup over it it makes you wonder if they were cooked right. The tuna tower was delicious but annoying they add wasabi. The kids menu while wonderful they have one. Our kids dinner came out after our starters and our dinner. It came out boiling hot to the point we had to use our ice to cool it down just so they could eat after having waited 30 plus mins for plain pasta. We were also not asked what ice cream we wanted that apparently comes with the kids menu. Our waiter never mentioned it. Leaving us to order dessert on top of what we could have gotten for free. The carbonara is well. Let’s just say the kids plain noodles were better. Literally. Again they covered this in so much sause it was soup. No flavor. Needed salt. Oysters were good. Our waiter was well waiting else where at times lol. Will give this place another try.

Lobster chowder and steak served cold....not frozen...just cold. Jambalaya was average. Parking is limited unless you come in around 10 am. Ambiance is nice, but noise level was no good because of the music they're playing (loud) and a group of people talking and laughing.

Well, Wence’s Restaurant in Pleasant Hill brings a mixed experience. The space inside is spacious, though it can get quite loud, especially on a regular Monday evening. The outside patio is huge, which is great for a more relaxed vibe. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The Monterey Calamari was overly dry and over-fried, making it difficult to enjoy. The Shrimp Louie salad was especially disappointing - just a quarter of lettuce drenched in a heavy, unappetizing pink dressing, making it feel quite unhealthy. On a positive note, the lamb chops were absolutely delicious, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The lobster chowder was another highlight - rich and tasty, definitely a standout. The service was attentive and pleasant, which helped elevate the overall experience. If it weren’t for the service and a couple of good dishes, this would have been a much lower rating. Stars for the great service and a few tasty dishes made that made a difference.

I’ve been here a few times. It’s a pretty harmless place. Nice enough. Very much a solid three star worthy establishment. Both times I had the Mac and cheese. It is really good. I wish I would have gotten a pic. Would recommend. Fish and Chips was fine. Needed to be seasoned. Was cooked very well. Fries were fairly cold and no seasoning. My wife had the cheeseburger. She said it was great. Drinks were also good. A little slow to come out. We ordered Espresso Martinis. There were good. Service is just fine. There have been a lot of kids both times I’ve been there. Good. Not great. BUT lots of potential.

I'm not sure what type of restaurant Wence is trying to be. Some of the food kind of tasted good. Food had no color or seasonings. The private room was cool, it had a door that lead outside. The door was open/unlocked, once we started ordering they came over and locked the door. Definitely want be back and Definitely won't be recommending them.

The food was really bad.The lobster chowder was good, but everything else I ordered was terrible. The food came out barely warm. The soup was hot. thankfully, they comped my meal because I didn't eat it.It was that bad..I got the cod sandwich and it came with homemade chips that were stale. The cod sandwich was cold: no flavor: the bread wasn't fresh. It was just all bad. And it was quite loud. The restaurant was only half filled with people. But you couldn't even hear the conversation at your table.I've read this in many of these reviews, and i'm not sure why they're not doing anything about it.You can hang up tapestries or put some carpet in different areas. So people can actually hear their conversation. I haven't been to this restaurant in over ten years. And this reminded me why.
