Frontier Spice Pleasanton Reviews
Good ingredients and careful control of spices and flavors makes the dishes taste fresher and more subtle than at other Indian buffets. In comparison, many other buffets in the area have reheated and overseasoned dishes that taste too salty and oily, leaving you feeling tired afterwards. Dessert, gajar hawal (carrots), was also excellent. To get a seat, I had to waive down a waiter rather than be asked. Once I was seated solo at the bar, however, service was fine. As lunchtime was packed and their space small, it was quite noisy inside. Located in the Pleasanton Town Center, parking is a bit of a hassle. For my second visit, they had Sooji Halwa, an amazing desert made from Semolina. Even the ubiquitous Tikka Masala had much more complexity of flavor compared to what's found at typical buffets. The buffet definitely emphasizes quality. Fair $11.99 ($13.10) price (buffet lunch every day) with a parking lot out back.
Amazing Punjabi food, I order frontier dal which is dal makhani and chicken korma, it was super yum!!! Best Punjabi food in Tri-valley Upscale, nice place in Pleasanton on Main Street
Our go to spot in Pleasanton for Indian food. Never disappointed. Love the Pesto Naan!! Dishes may have similar names but are not prepared the same way that you find in most North Indian restaurants. Reserve a spot on the weekends otherwise hard to squeeze in more adhoc.
Very nice clean and welcoming place and delicious buffet ($11.99 at weekend). Butter chicken is unforgettable!

Great food…nice place for a good meal
Was good to see outdoor dining open. The tent kind of installations for diners, seemed good. They all wore masks and cleaned surfaces regularly. Coming to the food - our group loved everything! Between us we had ordered a range of items and everything was tasty, non-greasy, and good portions and also fast service. Was my first time, though some others in the group were regulars. I will recommend this place. Do try it out.
Yum yum yummy food. We went there for a special occasion and the restaurant did not disappoint. The staff is extremely sweet and service is what you would expect at a good Indian restaurant. Food had perfect North Indian taste. Just what we wanted. Will definitely be going back again.
Had been planning to visit this place for quite sometime, and finally did it! Had heard about this place a lot and loved the food. Nice menu, fast service, great taste. So yes, value for money!! We sat outside, curbside tents, which was great to soak in the beauty of main street. The folks here are nice and courteous. Food, as I've mentioned, was delicious. Definitely one of the best places for Indian food. Being vegetarian, they had a nice spread to choose from. Will go again!
Food and service were excellent! I would highly recommend the Tandoori Mixed Grill, some of the best chicken we've ever had. Also, we didn't even tell the server it was our father's birthday but the server noticed by our conversation and a card on the table so he brought a birthday dish out. Very kind and thoughtful! Definitely will be back.
I LOVE their tandoori chicken and we come here quite often to sit on their sweet outdoor patio or take it to go. It’s delicious and the staff is always so friendly and pleasant.

It was a pleasant surprise to find an authentic North Indian restaurant in Pleasanton downtown. Food was tasty & portions were more than sufficient for the three. Service was quick & cordial. Loved it.
This place has the best tandoori stuff in the bay area! Hands down! You got to try it. Samosas are not bad either! Curries are alright
Good food and service, warm environment. Parking is limited to street and food takes a while to come out.

Food is good and place is okay. Not fancy. Felt the dishes are little high priced based on the place, ambience and restaurant and taste and service. I would say it is a casual restaurant to have Indian food with variety, not a fun place with big friends group though.

It’s a decent small size restaurant. We had lunch buffet and all veg dishes tasted good. A starter, dal, 2 sabzis and white rice and a dessert. Naans were soft. But there are only few items in the buffet as compared to other buffets in East Bay that charge the same price.
Went here for lunch on a Sunday and ordered a lot of food - vegetarian and non-vegetarian. We ordered Hariyali Kofta, Butter Chicken, Bohri Chicken, Five Spice Calamari and their Bread Basket. Their Hariyali Kofta was good with a nice Cashew taste to the curry. So was the Bohri Chicken. It was nice and differently spiced. I liked it. Their Calamari was a complete let down. No spice at all. Potato chips would taste better. Might come back for another try.

We tried the place out twice in the space of a week with different groups of people (once to eat in and one takeaway) and the general consensus was it's a solid 'OK' - some dishes were better than others (the bhuna was very tasty). Serving size is reasonable and the service was good both times we visited.

Absolutely disgusting. I ordered the Kofta Curry, and it was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The curry was completely bland, and the koftas tasted spoiled—it was inedible. But the horror didn’t stop there. I went to use the restroom, and it was filthy, the most disgusting restroom I’ve seen in any restaurant. On my way back, I saw the kitchen, and it was a total nightmare—grease and buildup everywhere. The hygiene here is beyond questionable. This restaurant should be shut down. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.
Tried their Mushroom Starter and it's a disaster. It looks like they just have frozen items, which they preheat and serve. Big NO to anyone who want to try this restaurant

Arrogant and rude staff. Just because they have their seats full, they decide to serve attitude instead of food.10 mins in and no one comes to attend us even with water. When we were about to leave one waiter comes in and starts yelling you guys are just standing and how can i come to attend. When we tried explaining he kept repeating the same thing. Dunno why they have just one waiter at such a busy place, that too an obnoxious one
