Glad that we found this vegetarian/vegan friendly malatang just 6 mins away from the outlet! Lots of vegetarian options to choose, ingredients were FRESH, the broth were so FLAVORFUL(we picked Tomyam and tomato soup base) Service was remarkable, very helpful for first timer. Definitely recommend to try out 🫶🏼

I tried the Sichuan spicy soup base and it was quite authentic, I asked for extra spicy. And the food choices were wide and fresh. Food is ready real quick. Great spot to go for during shopping break at the outlets.

Recommend the savory dry mix is really good. Not too spicy, with flavor mixing with sesame source. Environment is clean and staff is very nice.

my first sichuan style chinese hot pot experience, the staff are awesome they explained well how to order, difference between different soups. i personally cannot take too spicy food but this one is fine for me. Good value for such portion and good variety, recommend to all shoppers from the nearby outlet. cheers

We went here for a quick Hotpot bite, and were 100% satisfied. Very happy to have stopped by. - Great selection of fresh items, to include the Sauce Bar. - Very friendly staff, family oriented, and attentive to details of various levels. - Happy Environment for a good meal with family, a friend, with a significant other, date, or just by yourself. - Great location next to the Outlet Mall, Ranch 99, and more. Look forward to my next visit!

Top-notch malatang! The ingredients are super fresh, and the broth is flavorful. What stood out most was the passionate and friendly service. It's rare to find such great hospitality in a self-serve spot. Will definitely be back!

Really yummy mala, every ingredient tasted and looked fresh. Really enjoyed the dry pot personally. Also best decor, interior and plating I've ever experienced in Malatang, feels like truly dining out.

This hotpot spot is a solid choice for a reliable meal. The broths are well-seasoned and provide a good base for a wide variety of fresh meats and vegetables. The ingredients are consistently high-quality, and the DIY sauce station offers plenty of options to tailor the meal to your taste. With a clean environment and efficient service, it’s a practical and satisfying spot for a casual dinner.

A great place for families! You can customize your bowl with your own selection of ingredients, so it’s perfect for both meat lovers and veggie lovers. There are many soup base options, and the flavors are really good. The kids enjoyed it a lot too. Definitely a family-friendly spot.

The mala tang here tastes great. I find it especially suitable for group gatherings, since everyone can easily find ingredients and flavors they like. The food is served quickly, which is a big plus when dining with a group. It also feels like a relatively healthy option compared to many other hot and spicy foods. Overall, a solid choice for casual meals or group activities.

We tried Mala Town recently and thought the food was just okay — nothing particularly memorable. The flavors were fine but didn’t really stand out compared to other places. The staff, however, were friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. Overall, it was an average experience with good service but so-so food.

Always my “go-to” lunch place when its past 2:30pm and other noodle restaurants are on break. While not the best malatang I have had, food quality is decent and makes a healthy meal. Servers are attentive and helpful. Love the chill vibes with background music and spacious dining area which makes it a very comfortable place to enjoy a healthy meal.

Hotpot place with extensive selection of items that you pick and pay by weight. They provide a large bowl so be careful not too take too much. Quality was good and nice selection of broths.

I came in around 5 PM the day before Thanksgiving and was only the second person in the restaurant. After ordering, I walked over to the sauce bar and saw flies all over the sauces. We had to shoo most of the flies away but some got stuck in the sauces. It was honestly really unpleasant and hard to overlook. To be paying $16/pound for food, the condition of the sauce bar is unacceptable. I expected much more from this restaurant, especially given the quality of nearby spots like MuMu Hotpot and Chubby Cattle. I ordered the bone broth original, which was just okay. nothing special, I would probably enjoy it more if I could have added some sauce. Overall, the experience didn’t match the high rating online. It seems inflated by their “leave a review, get a drink” promotion. The restaurant itself is cold and uninviting, it is way too big and open for its own good. Does not match the vibes of the other restaurants mentioned above. I will not be returning.

Here's my disappointing review. I was so looking forward to this place when I first found out it was a new restaurant opened here at Pearl Plaza. I love Szechuan food and mala flavor. My wife is also a fan. We came in for lunch after a early morning coming back from the city. As we came in. No greetings. As we started preparing our food selection, veggies were dirty, some were old, selection just wasn't fresh like my other goto spot. Meat selection was lacking. I was disappointed to say the least. I came here for the Mala broth. Disappointing. The only highlight was the house bone broth. That was really good. We went with both medium heat levels. It had some kick. I could have gone with hot. Not really sure if I would come back. I like Malathang across the freeway much better.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Ordered online and this was what they gave me! The quality of the food was extremely horrible! The corns were all rotten and yet they still gave them to customers, such an unethical and disgusting place.

The restaurant is super unhygienic. They let customers bring a cat into the dining area. Even though I complained, they still let the customers have the cat. Imagine the food-picking area is an open area, and there is a cat!

This is the worst mala soup base we have ever had in the bay area. The soup is so diluted and completely covered with oil. I understand that mala soup usually contains chili oil but the ratio of the oil to soup is way to high. We scooped up so much of oil. We also ordered tomyum soup which is also very bland. Well, at least the staff are okay.

Last week my friend and I came here for a meal. We both really love malatang, so I was genuinely excited to try this place, but it turned out to be one of the most disappointing malatang experiences I’ve ever had. The soup base was shockingly bland — no depth of flavor, almost as if no seasoning had been added at all, and completely lacking the rich, comforting taste you’d expect from a proper hotpot. The meats were another letdown. I ordered lamb and lean beef slices, and both were dry, tough, and overcooked, making them unpleasant to eat. Even the freshness of some ingredients was questionable, which is concerning for a place serving hotpot. To make matters worse, the overall experience felt rushed yet disorganized. The staff seemed uninterested in helping or ensuring that customers enjoyed their meals. For the price, the quality and service fell far short of my expectations. Sadly, I won’t be coming back, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for authentic flavorful malatang.
