Ofelè Porto Ceresio Reviews
This café and pastry shop in Porto Ceresio, just steps from the lake, is a little gem waiting to be discovered. The color pink literally envelops the place, designed with evocative lighting (the tulips hanging from the ceiling) and unique furnishings. Approaching the counter, you'll notice how all the products are conceived as small works of art, crafted with care and respect for the raw materials. A true celebration of combinations of shapes and colors. A beautiful selection of miniature pastries (hard to choose, I recommend trying the ones that blend bitter chocolate, salty caramel, tart raspberry, and fresh pistachio), biscuits, chocolates, and take-out items are displayed in a row. Kudos to the packaging: not just a simple wrapper, but boxes and little boxes complete with logo and ribbon. A designer touch, even for a small gift. And then, the refrigerated display case, with strawberry and dark chocolate mousse. Last but not least, the riot of sugary aromas of macarons, a typical French pastry, where two soft shells meet a delicate ganache. A fun fact: in Milanese dialect, the word "ofelè" means "pastry chef."
Amazing place, modern style with vintage touches, very romantic and dreamy! Super colorful interior with a ceiling decorated with thousands of pink tulips 🌹 You can also dine outside in the main square just a few meters away! 3 coffees and 2 macarons at the counter: about €7.50, a more than fair price, I'd say! Hygiene throughout the place is EXCELLENT! If I lived closer, I'd come back regularly 🥰
Wonderful place, with a panoramic view and very professional staff. The gelato recommended by Giovanni was delicious. Congratulations, Giovanni, you're on the right track. Congratulations to the management and all the staff for the aperitif accompanied by a generous plate! Today there was also a musical group that created a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely be back. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
A very nice cafe that stands out from everything around it.
Cute little pastry and cake shop. The guy serving us was so nice and helped us out with a bit of Italian! Such a great little place and a must visit when in Porto Ceresio. Thank you 😊
Top!
The Baba au Rhum in a jar from Ofelè might be the best thing I ever ate in my life.
Amazing desserts and lovely staff!
Deserts were so good and the place was lovely.
Ow the lady behind the counter is just not friendly! 4 euros for a very small piece of cake is just a rip off. Not worth it
He really lost a lot! I'm so sorry, but he failed!! My partner bought a tray of pastries around 6 pm and we threw them away! What a fool! The cannoli "wafer" tasted stale, and the cream puffs too... and let's not even talk about the ricotta! I understand it's hard to predict the pastries of the day, but in other bakeries they have less selection at the moment, but they're fresh! These tasted stale! In the evening, what a fool! We had them all left over because we didn't like them. The next day I tried to microwave them, and worse! I tried the ones from the supermarket another evening to see if it was because it was late or because of them, and hey, the ones from the supermarket were good both in the evening and the next day! I went in a couple of times in the morning to get brioche; there's a choice... but they're all different and fine. For my taste, they were too crumbly and empty. The pane ou chocolate was also crumbly and without chocolate, just "on top." What a shame. I'd been there a while ago for breakfast outside at the tables, and it was much better. I also went a couple of years ago for a snack with pastries and an aperitif, and everything was good... I don't know... It's lost a lot of its quality! The people were very nice and helpful, but honestly, for the price and quality, I don't know.
The food was great, my mother's croissant was somewhat dry though and it didn't have a lot of filling. The staff was just awful with an attitude, my dad asked what was the filling of a pastry and the lady just grabbed it and put it on a plate. Then she proceeds to get an attitude when my dad asks two more times what was in it. She also was really moody with just ordering the other pastries, it was just not it. The view onto the lake was quite pretty, but the staff just made the atmosphere uncomfortable. I had hot milk, and when I finished it I also noticed black bits in the bottom. It was most likely leftover coffee bits, but it just was a bit disgusting in my eyes. In short: the food is amazing, the staff is just not it.
Yesterday afternoon we stopped at this sad bar where a rude, unpleasant bartender—and I'll stop here—charged us €6.00 for a coffee and half a cup of tasteless, cold hot chocolate! Perhaps in Lugano I would have paid that much... dishonest, with rude, unpleasant bartenders, it's really awful!
The place is nice, but… be careful because the pastries are often old: I had sfogliatelle and cannoli, and the cream was sour and dry, a sign that it was two days old! Given the price, something like this should never happen!!! Never again!!!
Awful experience as one elderly waitress yelled at me and was most rude person, people like this totally ruin the experience and should not work in public servicing places. I do not recommend at all.
I and my dog were about to sit at the table near the window and other people were going to sit in the table near the toilet. But the waiter told me I’m not supposed to sit near the window (without any explanation why) and offered me the table near the toilet. I left this place. I used to go to this cafe quite frequently and today come specially to this place. This was my last visit
