Reconnect Foods Poughkeepsie Reviews
If you like street cart food this is the place for you! 11/10 Chicken Tacos 11/10 Bao pork belly. Please go and find out for yourselves what you've been missing out on 🔥
Honestly, the best bao I've had since having some down in Chinatown. I love the fusion of flavors - exquisite. More people need to visit Reconnect. High praise.
I really like this place! The mushroom quesidilla was great! My husband likes the tacos. The bao is good.
Love this cute little spot. Owner was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Highly recommend the bao buns and empanadas.... will be back
Authentic Mexican food with an artistic fare by David. Hoping for more breakfast options.
great ramen and nice take on an un-traditional bao that was delicious. the food is great, and worth a trip.
food and service were really good. owner is awesome and always makes sure we’re doing good and the food is good. definitely recommend
Delicious and fresh. Can't wait to try again. It was my first time trying and so glad I did.
If I could give 10 stars I would. Absolutely outstanding food and atmosphere. Super people running it.
Amazing every time. Love the friendly atmosphere and creativity with local foods.
Amazing, just a great lunch spot with outdoor seating. (Birria baos are a must!)
Damnnnnnnnn😚
Loved the different textures and flavor profiles on their menu. My tastebuds went on an adventure: from a pillow soft bao, stuffed with a tangy apple slaw/spinach filling, to a deep, earthy bowl of ramen with mushrooms and braised chicken, to a fragrant, sweet, ruby hibiscus tea. Extremely talented chef!
One of the best Spanish spots in the Hudson Valley. Don’t sleep on these guys over at Eastdale! Everything on the menu is amazing and worth the price. If I could rate it 6 stars I would.
Saw this place while shopping and decided to grab a quick bite. Best decision of the day. Food was amazing, empanadas made from scratch right there on the spot. I'll definitely be back.
We have been waiting for a delicious ramen place, and Reconnect does not disappoint! First time there, you will want to try it all. Bao bun, taco, and ramen are all amazing! Went in for just ramen, and ended up trying a little of everything. The chorizo ramen was phenomenal, the pork belly bao and pork belly taco are full of flavor and sauces that make a perfect combination with each bite. Do yourself a favor and order some of their homemade desserts to take home for later. Needless to say, we went back a couple days later to continue going through the menu!
Upon entering Reconnect Foods we were immediately greeted by the owner David. The atmosphere was very friendly. I ordered the chicken Ramen, it was delicious. Food was very tasty. I would recommend this place. Thanks Dave, my husband and I enjoyed your restaurant.
Great food with the culinary expertise of the owner who went to the culinary institute. Mondays they are closed but he always tends to have special menus for interested lunchers in Eastdale. Tacos, burrito (rice) bowls, bao sandwiches, tamales, soups — all excellent. Most importantly, this is healthy, filling, and well-priced. It's the only thing like in the area.
Have eaten here twice. First time I had bao and ramen. This time I ordered three tacos, one steak, one carnitas and one chicken. The carnitas and the chicken were awesome! Although I generally prefer carnitas, in this case the chicken was the best. Would recommend!
Excellent food, perfect balance of flavors. I tried the rice bowls with carnitas, it was amazing. Tried their homemade hibiscus too. It was very good and perfect if you don't like overly sweet drinks. I will be stopping by again to try their tacos and the ramen bowls.
Everything at the Eastdale location was delicious but the bao was amazing!!! Definitely going to return. All of the ingredients are local which is great and there is a ton of flavor in all of the food we tried.

Recently tried this place and was very happy. The owner and his staff were so friendly! I came in close to closing time looking to get some ramen. The owner said unfortunately we have run out for the day but if you have a few minutes to wait, I’ll make a fresh batch for you (and he was happy to do so)! Customer service was wonderful as I find not many places will do that for you. Food was great as well! Can’t wait to come back! :)
If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out on some of the best food in the Hudson Valley. Hand made ramen, freshly made broth, insanely good bao, empanadas from scratch, and all of the homemade drinks from the horchata to the agua frescas will make you go back over and over again until you’ve tried the whole menu. You’ll never run out of new options though since they’re always doing seasonal specials and coming out with new delicious products.
I had the BEST experience!!! The food? Amazing! The customer service? Immaculate! The young lady took care of my order and she was such a delight! She made sure I was well taken cared of. I believe her name is Kathy? If anyone has anything negative to say they are just miserable and unhappy because everything was perfect! None the less, the food was delicious and I WILL be returning!!!
We were looking for ramen and told to try the Academy. I called them first and they told us to come here for the best ramen in the valley. It lived up to the title. Fresh made noodles and bao buns. Every protein we tried was out of this world. Super fun atmosphere too getting to chat with the chef. Can’t say enough good things
Went to their soft opening at Poughkeepsie underwear factory and I just didn’t want my tacos to go away they were SO good! Such great spot and definitely will be back!
What a great little place. I walked in and the first thing I noticed was the smell. Incredible. Passion on display in the kitchen and the food was absolutely delicious and tasted like quality. So glad to have found this spot and will be coming back quite a bit. We had the Birra Tacos and they were so good.

The pork belly Ramen with bone broth is amazing. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is the hours make it very hard for me to get here.
Food is great. Just not sure about the hours. Website, and sign in the window says it opens at 10am. Walked in at 10:46am and was told they are closed.
David makes great comfort food shine from turmeric rice to Mexican food he doesn’t bore
Great spot. Very tasty combination of chicken/cheese empanada, pork belly taco and pork belly bao. Comes with rice and beans. Alao always great to fins the neon green lime jaritos. Hope one day they add horchata. Hot sauce has a nice kick if you ask for some on the side. A bit pricey for size but you will feel full since quality ingredients.

Was in a porky mood today, so I ordered two bao (Asian buns) of carnitas & pork belly. Made in a more healthful style (little to no lard or sodium), the buns & meat aren't hugely dripping w/ flavor, but they're the right size for dignified dining!

I’m giving it a 3 because the tacos were yummy. I ordered a pork belly and chicken chorizo taco each. I hand the cashier a $50. And I noticed on the screen she’s giving me change from a $20. Could be a honest mistake so I tell her I gave her a $50. And she hands me another bill. I look at my change and it’s $30. I ordered two tacos $4.50 each and she gave a cup of water. I hate being “that” person but I said I’m not the best math person but tacos and a tip are $20? So she forked over another $10. I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible so I took the container and went to eat at a table with my daughter outside. The tacos are small. I mean two bite sized. They were delicious and flavorful but I’ll pass next time I come up for macarons next store.
Friendly staff. They filled my water bottle. Tacos are great, not too hard tortillas and plenty of flavor. Only complaints are about the arepas and hospitality. The arepa came out after I had finished two tacos. It tasted undercooked and doughy. The cheese was unmelted, not like the picture on the website. When I brought the dishes in, the owner saw I had only taken three small bites and asked if I had liked it, I responded “it wasn’t like the picture online.” There was no refund offered or “sorry about that can I make you something else?” As a CIA grad and employee in eastdale village myself I hope they work on bettering their hospitality or consider lowering their prices.

Requested extra slaw in a to go order and they said okay, and of course not there when we get home. Paying nearly $40 for 5 bites of food and terrible service is ridiculous. Their storefront sign, same day social media posts, and Google listing says they open at 11am, and yet employees claim they open at 12pm. Disorganized and rude service. Doesn’t matter if the food is good if it’s way overpriced and you have to deal with terrrible service.
4 months later and the restaurant organization has not improved (food gloves on register and back to prep without switching). And the food quality has gone down. Here are the Pork Belly Bao and the Carnitas Taco order. Both to go. Compared to the way things looked months ago, it's a big step down. Just sucks, because I had such high hopes for this restaurant based on the concept.
Stopped by the area and this place we chose from many food choices. Our mistake. Ordered 3 steak tacos and asked if they were soft tacos.. I was given a look like I had 2 heads and also told no steak for an hour. Then another employee said..no steak is ready. Ummm ok. 15 min wait and they brought out the steak tacos that seriously were beyond salty. We had to throw them out. Tried to figure out where the salt was coming from. Not the steak, not the tortilla. Was salt (ALOT) thrown on the tacos?!?! Horrible waste of money. Won't recommend or return.

Went here on Saturday. Waited 35 minutes for food. Our lunch for 3 cost $70. The food came out almost cold. My friend ordered a mushroom quesadilla and the waiter brought the sample entree instead. The portions are tiny. The empanada has much to much dough and hardly any filling. The arepa is very doughy in texture and minimal filling. This is my second time here. The first time it was very good. But, I will not return. We were still hungry when we left. $70 for nothing more than tapas. The owner is very friendly and kind, so I believe he just needs to fine tune these things. Some of his staff look hung over which is not appealing at all.
I have had the ramen with pork belly previously and it was very good. I went there maybe two weeks ago and ordered the same thing but got it to go. I was so excited. Got home heated up the broth and poured it over. As I took my first anticipated bite, it was liquid salt. I tried an another bite and literally had to throw it out. It was so salty, it was inedible. I decided to give them another try and went back and told them about the ramen. The chef offered me another ramen, but I passed and asked for two empanadas (beef and chicken) they had absolutely no flavor. From one end of the spectrum (incredibly salty to having absolutely no flavor). Unfortunately, I will have to put this on the “pass” list from now on.
