El Hidalguense Progreso Reviews
Si quieres unos tacos realmente de carnitas estilo Michoacán en progreso, este es el lugar indicado ❤️
Very tasty, good value for money.
Muy bueno el consume.
Everything we tried was delicious: barbacoa, beef broth (it's more like birria with chickpeas), tacos al pastor, and more! The handmade tortillas are so flavorful that even my parents asked for some to take home 😁. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The portions are very generous and the prices are reasonable. They told me they're open on holidays, which is very important to know 😉. I would definitely go back.
The food was good, the price was reasonable, and the service was fast.
Good service, with this the food is very good and truly traditional from Mexico
Uff 👌
Great food and great price. The service is also good
After four days in Mexico, I finally found some good food. Tasty, fresh, and generous portions. Friendly service. I recommend it.
The carnitas are delicious! They are sooo good! I recommend this place.
First of all, these were the best quesadillas I’ve ever had. I asked a handful of locals what the best authentic Mexican restaurant was and one of them mentioned this place. I don’t know any Spanish and they spoke no English but they were very helpful. They even let us use the bathroom next door. The food was SUPER cheap and we had no complaints.
Great place, good food, and affordable. I'll definitely be back.
100% recommended, I'll be back whenever I can, great quality for the price
ABSOLUTELY take a few minutes and enjoy excellent Mexican street food at its best. Don't be fooled by the view from the street the food was superb and the staff were warm and accommodating.
The food is good, especially the barbacoa tacos with lean meat and the consommé, made with lean meat, no fat or skin. The tacos al pastor and the horchata are also delicious. They just forgot that we ordered a dish, but we didn't need it anymore anyway. What we definitely don't recommend is going to the restrooms, as they're in the back, and if you go at night it's very dark; they were very dirty, and we even found a giant cockroach. If they improve these aspects, they'll surely become one of the best restaurants in the area.
We only picked this place because there were lots of locals and wanted something more authentic and freshly made. Totally hit the spot! Rustic, tasty and fresh. Highly recommend the pork skin (chicharron guisado). Good texture and great bounce. If you end up not liking these kinds of local spots then at least you can say you tried!
The food is delicious and very regional.
The price-performance ratio is good; you get something for the price you pay. Areas for improvement include hygiene and better food storage during the hot season, as it can sometimes make you feel unwell.
Pésimo servicio por parte del mesero muy grosero y el chef que tarda en cocinar
The food was average. The service from the staff was terrible.
The staff were rude and ended up trying to charge me more than the price on the menu. The food is ok for the price but there are better places with friendlier/more trustworthy people.
They charged us for our food and only delivered half of it. Plus, the waiter was quite unpleasant. The food wasn't anything special either, and the price was reasonable. I wouldn't recommend it; it's better to go somewhere else in Progreso.
