Olde School Pub Pulaski Reviews
Has a great lunch there last week! You must try the fried bologna and peppers and the sweet potato fries with honey! Great service!
Great bar. Cool aesthetic, and works pretty well for big groups. The bartenders are efficient and really good at what they do, no shorting here! Once there was another patron that was yelling at us across the bar and the bartender checked in with us and took care of the issue. A great safe place! Only got a taste of their food, but it was great.
As good as it gets. Local Family crushing it. Food was amazing and got to hang with great people. Perfect halfway point on our way home to Indy.
Had dinner tonight at Old School and while they were busy, they did everything in their power to accommodate us dining tonight. Food was AWESOME and tons of it. I can eat , but even I had to get a take out box. Very reasonable prices and the owner is great. The chef even came out to every table to make sure things were good. You don't see that anymore and I have been in the restaurant industry for 30+ yrs . Will be back. 2 dinners and 2 beers and our total was $43. Huge plate of chicken riggies and mushroom stew. I saw another table had the fish fry and it was HUGE! For $16.....Fuhgeddaboutit 🤌
As a guy who works away from home. (Texas) i had a wonderful experience every time I went in. over the coarse of a couple months. Cold beer and the regulars always treated me with respect. My food was always cooked to a perfection!
This was a great gastronomic experience! Had the build your own burger which came w. choice of French or sweet potato fries (no upcharge) and a pickle. Burger was the best I've had in a long time - barring my son's - cooked perfectly and really tasty. My friend agreed. Serving sizes were generous and food came out hot. Owner/cook came out to see how everything was which was a nice touch. Will def go again.
This place is a total gem! Since the new owners took over, it’s been a go-to spot for us, and it just keeps getting better. The staff? Absolutely the friendliest—you’ll feel like family the moment you walk in. The food? Incredible, every single time. The vibe? Fun, relaxed, and perfect whether you’re grabbing a table or hanging out at the bar for drinks and bites. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check it out. You’ll love it, guaranteed!
This was my first visit to Old School. I sat outside with a large group of people. The setting was fantastic; open and airy but close enough to be connected with those around you. The service was great. No one waited an excessive amount of time despite the size of our group. The food was spot on: the homemade chips perfection and the steak sandwich generous, cooked beautifully, and with amazing toppings.
Had an amazing dinner at Old School Bar And Grill. Superb craft cocktails. Delish apps & entrees. Fantastic service. Highly recommend! Chicken Leo is phenomenal. Menus are pictured at end of this review. If you also like retro throwback 80’s music 🎶 then this is the place is for you.
Relaxing atmosphere, and good food. Its a very small location, but occasionally they have live music. Nice place to stop in with friends and enjoy a quick bite.
My aunt suggested this restaurant. Being Italian, I thought they would be more Italian oriented. It's a sports bar with limited but great food. The chicken riggies were very good, and I had the steak and greens sub. Very good portions and pricing was accordingly fair. We went back another time for something different. She had the Long Hot peppers and I had grilled chicken and fries and a side salad. If you want something great for lunch or dinner that won't break the bank, then you should try Old School!!
Nice local bar with food! Local is cool way to go( support local) plus new owners at this place.. Great to settle down watch a game have a beer/drink and snack, or even a dinner! Check out events, trivia, live music, clams, and some sweet desserts! Limited menu so ask for the daily specials to give you some additional options... Enjoy!
Steak sandwich is very good. I suggest, if you like them, add sweet and or hot peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheese.
Went for Mother's Day lunch today! The food was great! Service was top notch. We will definitely be back!
I actually became a customer of Old School when I ordered a large tray of their "Greens" for a wedding reception last summer. They were great and I remembered that. So Old School was in the back of my mind the other day while out doing some shopping with the wife. It got to be dinner time and we were close, so, let's pay Old School a visit. It was dinner time and good eateries tend to be crowded at these times. This visit was no exception. Seating was a little tight and it was a bit noisy, but we were promptly seated. This is offered more as commentary than serious criticism. High points, service and food! The main reasons you go out, right? The ladies who waited on us were always wearing a smile and intended to please. Oh yes, we ordered greens as a starter and they were fantastic. Our entrees were quickly prepared and they were as good as the greens. Served portions are generous and prices are appropriate. We'll do this again soon.
I've only been to the restaurant once but while at work we've ordered from here a few times.. I've only had the chicken Dominick and a bite of the Reuben.. both are very good, particularly the chicken dominick... juicy, well flavored and (not overly cooked) Ambiance is outdated, but friendly staff and plenty of seating.
This was my go to place during covid. The food was good. Towards the end, the Owner's Daughter took over, and everything went downhill fast. I recently ran into the new Owner, nice guy, assured me it was good, and the original cook was back. I took my Wife to lunch, and figured I would give it a try. It was moderately busy. I ran hotels and restaurants for decades, so I am very forgiving of most things. In this case it was multiple issues. Both our orders were wrong. The Waitress took responsibility, and fix most of the issues. I can not speak for dinner, but lunch was filled with glaring lack of experience and oversight. The menus were paper, and stained. I understand it makes changes easier. But, throw them out print fresh ones when they are soiled. The menu was limited. But there were also specials. I asked what the pork chops were stuffed with, she had to check. No problem, telling me " Stove Top Stuffing" , translates to no culinary effort. Our food was luke warm, what means either the cook has no ability to time food to come out together, or it sat waiting to be picked up. My Wife's fish fry was darkish brown. That means the oil in the fryer was old. Any restaurant doing fish fry in Utica knows it is a good seller. Add in the fries, and onion rings, that oil should have been brand new for Friday. My burger was barely warm, the cheese barely heated, they forgot the bacon, and brought it out after the fact. The bacon should be under the melted cheese. The best word I can use is mediocre. The shameful part is the ingredients were good quality, my burger was the correct rareness. My Wife's fish was ok, for Utica, it was meager. I am a generous tipper. I could not bring myself to leave less than 10%, I almost always do 20-25%. Very disappointed, it was unfortunate, but I won't be going back. To the owner, train your staff, if you offer onion rings in the same breath as fries, one would assume they are equal options. If there is an up charge, make sure your Waitress advises the customer at time of order, not just added to the check. Keep your cook in the kitchen watching the food. Thete is no reason a cook should ever be in the dinning room unless the place is empty, or there are ZERO, orders being made. He spent at least 5-10 sitting in the dining room, we were only there a short time! Your staff needs to know, NEVER serve anything you would not eat, or be happy with yourself!!! Seeing baked fish is only available for dinner, means the lunch guy is an over glorified fry cook. Up your game, hire professionals, and serve the quality of food the basic ingredients could produce with a trained person preparing it. MVCC has a culinary program, hire a student, they would produce better food than your lunch cook!! Fifty dollars is a lot for mediocre, I spend twice that for a good dinner. But, I really felt like I might as well have gone home and had cold cuts!
