Kerala Kitchen Queens Reviews
Taste of Kerala Kitchen has the most authentic and delicious traditional Kerala (South Indian) food. We went to celebrate Onam and everything was just fantastic. It is a buffet style restaurant and they had all the vegetarian Onam classics plus the delicious red fish with green mango curry as a bonus. We've been regulars since they opened and have never once had a bad meal - aromatic, spiced bites and some dishes offer a hint heat without being overwhelming. Even though they served Onam Sadhya they didn't jack up their prices and cut back on what the offered (unlike the other places). Fantastic food (the buffets get refilled constantly), friendly staff, comfy restaurant and good prices make Taste of Kerala Kitchen the best spot to have real South Indian food.
Kerala Kitchen is a great place for Real Kerala non veg food lovers. We can experience a kind of real kerala Cousines in the land of USA. You will feel like an experiencing the tastes of the neighborhood restaurants in Kerala. I recommend this place for the lovers of Mathi (Chala)Fry, ethnic kerala pork dishes, appam etc. There thali meals are really recommendable. Enjoy their food if you are a malayali missing neighborhood foods if kerala.
Adipoli, We stay in Connecticut, Were looking for a good place to have a Onam Sadhya and we found Taste of Kerala Kitchen. Though it was 3 Hrs away, we decided to give it a try They had Buffet Ona sadhya with Rice, Avial, Veg Thoran, Parippu curry, Mango curry, Kootu curry, Mango pickle, Sambar, Moru, 2 types of Payasam, Pappadam, Moru, Rasam and many more to count. It was soooo delicious and we had a blast. We also packed some non veg items home too
If you looking for some Great kerala food, look no further , this place is where it is at. beef, Red spicy fish curry, goat meat , to everything they had in their sunday buffet were amazing. We will definitely come back. I wanted to get some Pothi choru but wasn’t sure if it’s gonna stay good by the time we reach home all the way on Washington DC, but next time definitely gonna get it. so do agree with some of the reviews talked about customer service. Don’t go expecting customer service , you may very well don’t get that at all. But don’t let that be a deal breaker because the food is amazing.
Getting here without a car from Manhattan is a true urban odyssey (a subway to the end of the line, followed by a bus to the end of the line), but it’s always well worth the trip. I’ve visited them for their Onam sadhya for the last three years. Unlike in years past, the sadhya this year isn’t offered during the whole week of Onam: only on the last 3 days. We didn’t know that before arriving yesterday afternoon, but, though we missed out on sadhya dinner, we did enjoy our very traditional Kerala meals tiffin.
Great place for getting absolutely tasty Kerala food. Customer service could have been better. We had to wait for a few minutes to see someone after entering the restaurant. It was a weekday and time around 3 pm. That might be the reason for the delay. Anyways the taste of the food compensates everything else.
The food isn’t bad at all but it’s really pricy and expensive , and I’m vegetarian but there is less vegetarian options so I just hope you add more vegetarian options.
Food is decent but why the room so depressing and the B grade for cleanliness is not appetizing. Ordering and picking up is harder than necessary.
Had ordered malabar chicken biryani and pothichrou. Pothichoru was tasty and malabar biriyani is not the malabar biriyani. I even asked before ordering that if it was malabar biriyani. He said yes. But the biriyani didn't have the taste of malabar biriyani. Please don't call it malabar biriyani it is just rice mixed with some sort of chicken curry. Please take down the name malabar biriyani from your menu or if you really want to have it in your list and quality food service please research on malabar biriyani and serve it.
Chicken was not cooked at all. Brought it home and try to cook again, but didn’t work. I am worried about the meat itself.
The first time i went to kerala kitchen with my wife we asked the lady there, oh what’s Chicken 65. She rudely turns to the man next to her and tells him to explain to us what that is and walks away. They act like we’re getting their food for free or something! Just recently i ordered an Egg roast and porotta. Guess what? There were large stones in the food! It felt like i was eating sand and it hurt my tooth for a couple of days. I advise everyone not to buy food from these people! First of all they have no manners, secondly their food cannot be trusted! God knows how they prepare it. This is a response to taste of Kerala’s response. This is my first review. Like i said before, first time i stepped inside your store i was disrespected! Why should i contact you directly? You guys are very disrespectful and top of that i found stones in the porotta/eggroast! If it wasn’t the egg roast then it came from the porotta. I have nothing against this establishment and i am being completely honest.
Nothing tasted fresh — everything felt old and reheated. Totally disappointed. My wife was craving Malayali food, but this was a complete disaster. Money well wasted. Definitely not going back.
Their Malabar biriyani is just chicken over rice. I now see other reviews having same experience, never ordering from this place again. I did a party order and was ashamed to serve it as “biriyani”.
I recently got some fish and beef cutlets from here and none of us could taste and tell which one was beef or fish. There was no flavor of either fish or beef. It should've been called potato cutlets. Any malayali who had either cutlets could never buy this again. That was $20 in the garbage. I hope they correct their recipe and not be stingy with the ingredients. Some of their other dishes are good.
Pothichoru - If u are having money. you can buy pothichoru from there. those who earn less. cant afford the food from there. now they charge $22 for a single pothichoru. before it used to be 12, then 15, then 18, then 20. now its $22. if you are a rich person, you can eat. those earning less and have to work two hours more for a meal from there. that's frustrating. suggest some new places where pothichoru is affordable for a normal person. Don't buy any other food from there. beef fry, chicken curry or even chicken biryani. it will taste raw..bad taste
I don’t write below *** reviews at all, but I have to share this to let kerala kitchen know as they literally ignored my calls critics. As attached “Malabar Mutton Biryani” I don’t know where to start wasted $40 for nothing had just rice as mutton is not cooked neither marinated neither taste at all, worst thing eggs shells found as shown in picture. I would definitely take it down if they really care about quality food as price they charge. Thank You
