Encore Donut & Bakery's Cafe Quitman Reviews
Took a chance when passing through... Great donuts... now a stop for trips through Quitman...
We're visiting the area every couple weeks and decided to try out Encore. We were glad we did to say the least. Great service and their biscuits and kolaches are some of the best we've ever had. Tip: Call in large orders ahead.
Amazing food! The croissant were crispy and buttery and the donut holes were amazing, perfectly glazed, the company is so nice and they are like family to me. 10/10 must recommend.
Had the Boudin kolache and donut holes last week. Fantastic. This week had the Boston Cream Pie and more donut holes today. (They have less calories, so you can eat more of them :-). They don't put the filling in the cream pie till you order it. What a concept. It was absolutly fluffy and fresh. Still warm. Best one I've ever had. Never trust a skinny food critic. Trust me, this place is good. I live about 100 yards from it.
Their breakfast burritos are the BOMB! One will do you and you'll be full. The boudin kolaches are very tasty too. I will keep coming here because of the friendly staff and great selection.
Delicious donuts and Kolachies made right ! That classic, homemade flavor you are craving! Super friendly Cambodia family. Highly recommend! ... so good we turned around and got some more for out trip.
Love their Donuts!!!

Lumpy driveways made it hard to access.
The donuts are very good and the savory stuff are even better.
The donuts are good, as far as donuts go. The kaloches are really good. My only problem with this place is, I feel the prices are a little costly. It doesn't keep me from going there, though, because the other donuts shop never has the items I want. They always say, "that will be ready at 10 o'clock". So, in Quitman, Texas, I go to Encore Donuts.
Got a variety of things some were hit or miss but the filled donuts were top notch. The Apple pie filled bear claw was 5/5 for sure! Probably the best thing I've ever had at a donut shop. Friendly people willing to go the extra mile..great spot for a cheat meal!
Encore donuts was a staple of Quitman, a beacon of breakfast really. Sadly I am sure the community has noticed it is now very different, the quality is slightly off. The previous owners were a bar above any donut place in the county hands down. The new owners stride to catch up to the shadow of their predecessor, it's not a bad donut to say but it isn't quite the same. I hope they find success and carve out a name for themselves, they seem kind.

Cinnamon twist was okay, but could have had more cinnamon, chocolate glazed donut holes had been fried too long, so were nearly crispy instead of a pillowy bite.

Paid 13.50 for 2 funnel cakes . They were about 6" around. Have had McDonalds pancakes bigger. When my sister went about as yr ago they filled the Togo try up. They probably can make 60 or 70 for the 13.50. JS
I'm not sure what's going on but I've been sitting in the driveway now for a solid 15 minutes without moving. I see the new owners running back and forth talking to each other and they seemed frustrated. The food quality has gone way downhill and is nowhere near as good as it used to be. I can see that at least four cars at this point have left from the back of the line because the weight has been so long. Also, the prices have skyrocketed. Not just a little bit, but a ton! I've been getting the same thing everyday and pricing now is at least 1 and 1/2 times what I was paying before. The new owners seem friendly, but also very unorganized and very unprepared to run this business. Time to find a new donut shop.
Stopped in and ordered a burrito. 15 minutes later I finally got it. The case was bare except for a few glazed donuts. When they first opened it was a good place. But it has gone downhill. Never can order what you want cause it's not ready. And I am talking like 6 in the morning and nothing. Used to the case was full at that time period. Will not be going back.

2nd time to try to eat breakfast there. First time. In the drive thru. Gal takes our order for 2 breakfast burritos.. and was told we had at least a 10 min wait while "he" cooks more up. We'll we were on a time schedule so never mind and we just left. Now .. 5-3-24 try #2 .. we got smart this time. Call our order in from Sulphur Springs giving them 25 min to get our burritos ready ... get there . Drive thru again . Same gal . Tell her we got a pick up order ( should be at the window cuz we called 25 min prior) .. NOPE . Gal disappears we sit for over 5 min ( on a time schedule again) .. and still not ready. We left again for the 2nd time. Sorry will not be a 3rd time.
I have been to the donut shop a couple times with no issues. It wasn't a great experience but no problems either. The staff is miserable and unfriendly except to locals of course. Until today I had no issue. A man in line in front of me literally took all the remaining donuts, which wasn't much to begin with, except for glazed and a couple others. As well as getting a heart shaped donut for valentine day. Once he was done I asked for the last two chocolate glazed donuts left as well as a heart shaped one. That's all I could get. Two. Excuse me. One. I was told they couldn't give me the heart shaped donut as they did the other customer because they were for pictures. So why give one to one customer and not the next? I was definitely made to feel as an outsider. Horrible treatment. Never going back.
In 1&1/2 years only 3 times did they have what I wanted, mostly cinnamon rolls. Being too afraid to overcook resulting in being out of product more than having it available during opening hours doesn't work for me.
First came at 7am they had only cake donuts then came by later and got an apple fritter and a small cheese kolache, the apple fritter was burnt and felt like it was soaked in oil, and got jalapeño in my kolache.
Lady charged me 8 bucks for a ham egg and cheese croissant and a glazed doughnut. First off the croissant was basically a hamburger bun was super disgusting and I didn’t even get a glazed doughnut it was a maple thing. This place was gross and definitely not going back.
