Crab House Redondo Beach Reviews
Great place for crabs, seafood and traditional Korean fare. Been coming here 18+ yrs. Same family owners that care about the food tastes. Can get crowded on weekends peak but otherwise seating is easy. Ask for the window view if available. They have the best views of the ocean extending beyond the Palos Verdes peninsula. Keep in mind this place is priced for the setting and it's not a cheap meal when you do a sit down... especially for larger families. There are kids options that are very reasonable, while adults can gorge on the delicious (but pricy) fresh crabs, shrimps and lobsters.😃
I had the most wonderful first-time experience at Redondo Beach Crab House. From the moment we walked in, we were enchanted by the quiet, peaceful ambiance. The large windows provide a breathtaking view of the ocean, and we were treated to a magnificent sunset as we ate. You can even hear the sound of the waves, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. We ordered a stream corn on the cob, hot, green tea. the spicy fish soup, and it was a revelation. It was served like a hot pot, overflowing with incredibly fresh seafood of the day, including succulent shrimp and fish. The broth was rich and spicy, and it came with a generous mix of cabbage, tofu, kimchi, pickles, and other Korean-style vegetables. The freshness of the ingredients truly stood out.
If you ever visit Redando beach you should stop by this place. The food was out of this world. Fresh and delicious, the service was excellent and the price was not bad for all the food we ordered. We started off with the fresh live shrimp and abalone it was yummy. Shrimp head fried was very good also. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.
This place really was impressive, the customer service was simply amazing. Staff made you feel welcomed. Treating you with upmost respect, to have a reasonably affording meal on the beach front was awesome! The food was tasty, the atmosphere peaceful, also they accept credit, bank, and Apple Pay, makes like so much easier.
Beautiful atmosphere and food. Little expensive but worth it.

Our first time eating here. Overall a great experience. Great customer service and food was fresh and delicious. Sat down for a quiet meal enjoying ocean view. I especially was pleased not to have to stand in several long line to purchase food items separately like in popular place in the pier. Definitely will come back.

I really liked the food, I ordered the seafood trio plate. The soda doesn’t have free refills, but I got a large cup so it was fine. You have to pay at the entrance, and they add an extra 15% due to a supposed agreement made during Covid.
We’ve gone to this place at least 4-5 times and the food is 5/5, particularly the Korean-style Cajun seafood boil, the seafood stews, squid stir fry. We’ve also ordered crab legs along with soju and beer! Great view on the way to the restaurant, and the seafood is VERY fresh, stew is perfectly spiced and flavored and the seafood boil is honestly as good as Boiling Crab. It is usually not very busy, so you can come with a large party. I would say the portions are too big for just two people, so definitely more of a group hang. We also took our family from Korea here and they said the flavors were as comparable to Korea, but the seafood is fresh and they give more here. Service can be up and down depending on who you get. If you speak Korean, it should be OK.
Great food but expensive. You can get the same food for a cheaper price next door. If you want a nice quiet place away from the crowd, this may be the place. Sat right next to the window, and the sound of the wave makes everything better. We had a party of more than 6, and there is an automatic 15% gratitude fee, which is okay, but service could have been better. They barely checked on us until we went up and asked for assistance. Typical boiled and steam seafood, not very Asian for being a Korean owned restaurant. Seafood is great but I wish there was more options to how the seafood can be cooked. Spent more than $475 for a party of 8.
This is a tradition Korean restaurant, so don’t expect for better quality service. You pay the tips 15% at the front desk before sitting down, this is wired. So after you get the seat, don’t expect anyone to care about you!!! Price, of course it is pricy, you paid for the better view! Food is also simple cooking, most of steaming. The crab is fresh, Seafood soup is the best with Kimchi! You will have better views for windows tables.
I bring the kids here every summer after playing on the beach and riding some waves. Yes, it costs a bit more than some of the other spots, but it's indoor, quiet, clean, table service, and a nice beach/oceam view, so grab a table by the windows. We always try something new and different, and we're never disappointed.
Nice views of the beach, friendly service. Food was good. It's a good choice if you want to dine indoors. We went during the weekday so it was not busy. We spent around 194 which included the required 15% gratuity tip. When we visit redondo pier this is the to go spot to order fresh crab for my family. It is clean and the prices reasonable.
We came here because of the beach ocean view while dining at the table. The food was average. Just ordered some simple food (burger & steamed large shrimps) because their price was quite high.
This is a good place to try seafood but the pier makes it definitely very overpriced. The seafood is tasty but I’m not sure if it’s amazing. Is it the location or the food quality? Therefore I’d suggest use to best judgement. There might be other locations off the pier with better food and prices. Everything on the pier is over the top as if you are buying pearls and gold. You can buy pearls from vendors but why pay seafood 🦞 as if it’s gold?
Family lunch. ... We enjoy the fresh seafood. ... The crabs was fantastic. ... I personally love the sauté squid. ... The service was good. ... Lots of people and ambiance is a so so and bit tight. Tables and chairs are close together. ... Price is a bit high. ... But we enjoy our lunch and attending the kite festival. ...
Starting with 5 stars. Took a point off as I felt the baby octopus overdone. Lost its sweetness. Need some soy/bean paste sauce. The simple bottled garlic chilli not sufficient;) amazing sweet shrimp/spotted prawns. No need sauce. Crab delicious as well. Right on Redondo Beach pier over water . Lovely view. Not busy as Monday night also.
Craving for seafood that's not deep fried and not too crowded? Then this place is for you. The restaurant is big with plenty of seating but if you come here during off peak hours, you get to sit by the window which offers a good view of Redondo Beach while you eat. We ordered the Cajun seafood platter and it did not disappoint. I just wish that it came with more rice and that the corn was sweeter. I would say it's good enough for 3 people and it's around $40. Also tried the clam chowder and although it's not the best, it was good enough. The service can be slow when the place gets crowded but other than that, I had a good experience here. Will definitely come back when I'm in Redondo Beach again.

The clam chowder was good, I specifically went to Redondo Beach Crab House because they serve it in a bread bowl, but bread could have been a but more baked or better in general. 8/10. When it comes to crab, it was the worst crab I have ever had in my whole life, it had bitter taste… the aftertaste was also not pleasant. 1/10

My bill came out to $94 for only 3 plates of food. We order 2 fish plates with vegetables, 1 Cajun shrimp and a corn on the cob. We told the waiter that we wanted rice and they never even put it on the ticket. The "vegetables" they gave us was just potatoes, onions and really salty tomatoe sauce. And once we told another waiter they forgot our rice, turns out they didn't put it on the ticket and they gave us one rice for "free". They also charge 15% gratuity that is forced upon the customer. We expected a lot more than each plate of food costing $25 ( when normally it's $16-$18) and everything on paper plates and plastic utensils. Won't be coming here anytime soon. 😒 This was also the 3rd time I came here and I try to give them the benefit of the doubt but, no more 👎
Staff was not very friendly and the food presentation was not good. We ordered Shrimp and what was presented in this pic was not at all what we were expecting nor like pictured in the menu. We took only a couple bites and it didn’t even taste good. Our bill was $138 including 15% service charge. For that price one might expect more than paper plates and plastic utensils. Very disappointed.
