Love el amigo! The food is so good and the guys that work there are awesome. One of the best spots in the South Bay. Highly recommend the Chile verde burrito-wet, side of Serrano peppers for extra spice. I have tried other dishes on their menu and all of it is just as good, you will not be disappointed.

Wanted some tacos and came here for lunch. Was recommended the steak instead of the shredded beef. Was delicious. You can order them either crispy or softshell. I hot the soft tacos and they were a good size with plenty of filling3

We just finished moving into our home that day, and tried this place because it was close and we were exhausted. We we greeted immediately by a very friendly gentleman. The place was clean, organized, and the decor was nice. I ordered carne asada fries, and my wife had enchiladas. The portions were huge! And it was so good! What a great find for us, we will be there often (I have been twice this week). Great food, great service, I can't wait for COVID-19 to end so we can sit inside and enjoy it even more!

I recently had the opportunity to try the Chilaquiles con huevos at El Amigo, and I must say, it was impressively authentic. The nachos were notably crispy and flavorful. Finding parking during peak hours can be a challenge, the exceptional taste more than makes up for this minor inconvenience.

It started out nice until my husband got mad at me because of the homer the Dodgers scored 10 minutes in ordering our food & drinks & commanded TO BE QUITE!!!. Food is great there, the company SUCKED & I paid the bill, asked for a box, left my Corona there for his DA & walked home. Great Mexican food but poor company

Food has never disappointed. My son loves there Birria quesadillas. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was pretty good. And the Chile relleno burrito was great mom loved it.

Fantastic and delicious tacos at a steal of a price. There's indoor and outdoor seating and the staff are super friendly. The carne asada tacos are my favorite, and the horchata is on point. Orders also come with a small bag of chips and salsa for free. Highly recommend getting food from here if you are visiting the brewery across the street.

Today me and my co worker wanted to have lunch and I said I know this place but not sure if they are open and when we made the turn on 182nd street and saw them open, we both got happy. If you love authentic mexican food, then this is the place to stop by. Don't judge the way it looks, or think about this is a hole in the way, but once you have stop by and have some of there food, you would be amazed. The place is busy! A good sign for any food place. The food is pretty authentic and tasty. In general for Mexican food places, this one included, if I were to make recommendations to the place it would be to have more low carb options. Mexican food has plenty of healthier and tasty options (the top for tasty+low_carb in my opinion) but typically mexican food places always serve rice and beans as sides with very little options to replace them. If they were to offer "less sides and more main dish" as an option (or even an add-on) I would have Mexican food every day of my life. I understand that carbs are a cheap and quick way to make a hearty plate, but healthier customers will be customers for longer, so it is better business in the long run.

The food’s phenomenal- also the service too!! We ate with our family of 5, and each dish even the birria quesadilla was insanely delicious. The portions were huge! This small little place was a lot better than i thought it was going to be. The tacos were on point, the chips tasted fresh and done in house a long with their salsa. The jamica was the best i have ever had, mixed very well, cold without the whole drink with no hot spots. New taco night spot.

I've been here a few times and enjoy sitting in the patio area. They added some t.v.s for sports, which it made my experience better. The only thing they need is spicy salsa. Some of us like a good kick in our food.

Love the taquitos here. They top them with chili sauce, sour cream guacamole, lettuce and tomatoes. So it's like a taquito salad! Choice of chicken or beef. I usually get the chicken. So savory and filling.

I honestly think this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the South Bay. Food is ALWAYS fresh and tasty. The guys who work there are always nice and accommodating, which doesn't always happen in a quick service restaurant. I live closer to their sister restaurant, El Otro Amigo, and have never had a bad experience at either location. This is definitely one of my favorite spots! Pro tip: Ask for the red and green salsas that are made in house if you like spicy...you won't be disappointed.

El Amigo is my number one choice for Mexican Food. The service is spectacular and the food is so fresh and tasty. Whenever we go to a potluck event, we bring a large size of their Shrimp Ceviche. Not a drop is ever left over! Homemade flan is a must dessert!

Let me start with telling you about their carnitas burrito. It is one of the best in town. All of their food is great and we love the sauces. We did pick up this time and it was so easy to heat up. Their enchiladas are great as are their rice and beans. The service is so kind and friendly and they are fast. It does not matter if you are eating there or calling with an order. They get it right the first time and it is always so good. The place is just adorable. It is small, but kept clean and it seems a lad older, but inside you are comfortable and happy. You can also have it delivered. And you can order on line. What more could you want. It is a happy place, with happy staff and nice customers. There is nothing we don't love about this little spot.

What a great place. Marlin Tacos are a new taco experience. All the guys cooking, serving and at the register are golden, great attitude and really cool.

I've been to the other 2 locations of El Amigo (#1 & Otro Amigo). So I knew the food would be good, and it didn't disappoint. I dinged the atmosphere because of the parking lot. It's very small, the driveway is narrow and next to the building and it's difficult to turn around in. There is street parking but most of it is a short walk away. The eating area inside and out on the patio was nice. We ate on the patio because it was full inside. I dinged the service a bit because it was a bit busy and they just had 1 person taking orders. It caused 2 parties to leave. Another thing that was a bit annoying was the only way to get a cup of water was to purchase a bottle water. I'm a fan of the food read my reviews of El Amigo #1 & El Otro Amigo. I would eat at this location again but the parking might make me want to go somewhere else. Even though the food is great.

Sooooooo good! Wander over here after hitting up King Harbor Brewery just a few mins walk away. A beer buzz followed by tasty tacos? Complete winning right there. I got their 3 Taco Platter with a Horchata and it was divine. LA knows how to do tacos and this place proves it! Just simple good food that hits the spot. The complimentary chips and salsa were really good too! It's a little bit of a 'hole in the wall' and seating is limited, but food is on point!

Tacos were nicely seasoned. The meats were moist and textured. Would have liked the shells to be a bit more roasted but overall really good tacos and reasonably priced.

Each bite was satisfying and tasted like a home-cooked meal made with care. A nice bonus was that our takeout order came with chips and a fresh salad, which added great value to our meal. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that we had plenty to enjoy. With its combination of great food, friendly service, and affordable prices, El Amigo #3 is a great choice for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine. We will definitely be returning to try more of their menu!

Sooooooo good! Wander over here after hitting up King Harbor Brewery just a few mins walk away. A beer buzz followed by tasty tacos? Complete winning right there. I got their 3 Taco Platter with a Horchata and it was divine. LA knows how to do tacos and this place proves it! Just simple good food that hits the spot. The complimentary chips and salsa were really good too! It's a little bit of a 'hole in the wall' and seating is limited, but food is on point!

Tacos were nicely seasoned. The meats were moist and textured. Would have liked the shells to be a bit more roasted but overall really good tacos and reasonably priced.

The food was good but a bit bland for Mexican. It felt “Americanized.” Counter service but staff was friendly and bring your order to your table. Margaritas were yummy.

I kinda like this place except for one thing. They claim they "do not have water". Like they don't have running water or something - if not they should be closed by the health department. No they just want to sell you a drink or bottled water. The food is decent, but that we don't have water thing is a scam and an outrage.

I love their salsa but their portions have gotten way too small. Part of the joy in eating here is the value factor

The food was amazing! However... The service was horrible. Got stared at by staff and customers. Got served at the table and the waiter never came back to the table to check on the party or bring the check. Good thing there was a patio but overall the food was better than the service!

Like others have noted, the food was decent but they refuse to provide a water cup. I was told I could buy bottled water, even though there is a fountain drink dispenser that could provide plain water. No water. No tip. No problem.

The food had no flavor at all, the rice was nasty! The customer service was okay, but everything else No Bueno!! And we were hungry had just drove in from San Francisco, and we were hoping for some good authentic Mexican food, but we were very very disappointed!! I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant!!

I’m extremely disappointed and saddened to share that my husband has had not one, but two negative experiences at Taqueria El Amigo #3. On both occasions, it felt like he was being racially profiled and disrespected by the staff — a painful and unacceptable experience in a place that should be welcoming to all. During his last visit, my husband simply asked if there was a Taco Tuesday special, and instead of receiving a courteous answer, he was belittled, mocked, and treated as if he didn’t belong there. This level of unprofessionalism is inexcusable, especially when he was a paying customer — spending his hard-earned money on two plates of tacos, only to be met with rudeness, arrogance, and a total lack of respect. We expected better from a neighborhood restaurant that should celebrate culture and community, not discriminate against those who walk through its doors. We will not be returning, and I hope this review encourages the management to reflect on their team’s behavior and make serious changes.
