Serendipity Redondo Beach Reviews
THE BEST! I cannot tell you how hard it is to find eggs Benedict that deliver perfectly cooked, but not overdone poached eggs. If you’re looking for the best in presentation, care, and the quality of the food, you have come to the right place! Marina is the manager and was so happy to hear when I called to compliment the chefs. Every time I order from Serendipity they go above and beyond. Yes, I can be frustrating with changing up orders or adding items/sauces that don’t belong, but they checked all my boxes and the presentation was perfect. I always love my hollandaise sauce on the side and they gave me two different versions to choose from. I also asked for salsa on the side (which is not in the description for the meal) but they did not forget to follow the notes. We also ordered the 4 stack of the most fluffy picture perfect pancakes that taste even better than you can imagine. 5 stars all the way for service, quality of food, presentation, and following detailed notes. Everything on the menu is fantastic.
First time there and they brought me horrible pork chops, dry jerky like chops. But everyone else food looked good and they seemed to enjoy their plates. If I come back ill try the fish and chips or maybe that Philly cheese stake
Found out about this place from my brother (an unofficial self-proclaimed official foodie). Saw the Google reviews (4.6 at the time) and figured it's worth trying. Visited today for lunch (12/2/24 @ 12:30p) Enter the parking lot on *Vista Del Parque* and it's literally right outside the lot. PARKING IS FREE! 🙌🏼 The place is a lot bigger than I expected! Decor is simple yet contemporary. Gabriel was our server and he was FANTASTIC! Knowledgeable... funny... attractive... AND makes a great Old Fashioned! What else do you need!? 😅 Food was great! Had a strawberry cheesecake crepe (not sure the official name on the menu). The strawberries were fresh and the filling was just the right amount of sweet. My friend had the cheeseburger omelet and I ordered the chilaquiles, with chicken added cuz I need meat somewhere in ALL my dishes! The chilaquiles came with home style potatoes which was a pleasant surprise to me. They were not saucy as I've had other chilaquiles but the flavor was so good and it was a great portion size. I don't too much like eggs and I hate mustard but still the cheeseburger omelet was good too (I only had one bite but my friend loved it!). And the omelet came with a side choice of potatoes or pancakes, so another great portion size. Both my friend and I agreed it's definitely a spot worth frequenting.
Came for the Happy hour (Happy Hour Every Day 2pm-6pm!) and it didn’t disappoint. Honestly the best bang for your buck and hands down the best Happy Hour Deals in the South Bay! I think I found my new go to spot. Totally recommend this spot for anyone.
Nice place to come and let loose. Come get drunk with a friend or coworker and shoot the shit. I only gave them 4 stars in food because I ordered the pork chops meal but instead they brought me jerky chops. The meat was so thin and dry and tough. The worst pork chops I ever had by far. Be everyone else that ordered seem to like their food. I think it was just mines. If I come back I will try the fish and chips.y wife and grandmother loves their pasta plates.
Great food and service with friendly staff! Loved their brunch, and will be back for dinner and not to mention; for their happy hour, for sure!
Beautiful restaurant, amazing food, and great service. They have done such great job with interior design and furnishings. The patio space is great for a large family brunch or event. Plenty of space , bright and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely give it a try and enjoy the delicious food with great prices.

Wanted to try Serendipity after seeing their viral brunch cocktails. The drink specials lived up to our expectations but the service exceeded it! Our server Carlos and all the supporting staff (hostess, food runners, bussers), were fantastic. They did not miss a beat and the bottomless mimosas were flowing. Food is delicious as well. Special shoutout to the service which inspired me to leave this review
I was here with my bestie and we were only going to stay out for 2 hours. Brunch, mimosas, girl talk to be at home for a nap. Upon walking in I was unexpectedly met with live music. A lady and man on guitar, singing and this made me smile. We ordered immediately because I knew I wanted waffles. Omg it was so good!! Then my friend got the cheese blintzes she was in heaven. The hashbrowns were the best I've had in a long time. We were having such a good time and thr staff was so friendly we hadn't realized 4 hours had passed and we needed to nibble again in the truffle fries.. 2 orders 😆 We definitely will be back to try more on the menu.

Stopped here after finally reaching LA after a long drive, as it was in walking distance of the hotel. Had the lobster roll, which was quite different than what you’d see in Maine or Connecticut. It was hot but also had a bit of vegetable in it. While not traditional, I did enjoy it. Service was good for the most part, though it slowed down at the end which was odd for a very empty place. The art inside was, well, kind of out of place for a restaurant selling comfort food, but that’s not a huge deal. I liked it overall though it wasn’t perfect, and anything that’s comfort food is nice after a long day.
If you’re looking for a chill spot with sexy vibes, killer food, and cocktails that don’t break the bank, Serendipity in South Redondo Beach is the ultimate go-to. 🍹✨ Let’s start with the cocktails—not only are they deliciously well-crafted, but they’re also super affordable for South Bay standards. A mimosa (or two) while enjoying the ocean breeze? Yes, please. Now, onto the food. The French toast is the perfect balance of crispy edges and soft, sweet indulgence, topped with just the right amount of syrupy goodness. The Greek omelette is packed with fresh veggies and tangy feta, and the mushroom crepes are straight-up decadent, creamy, and oh-so-satisfying. Everything tastes like it was made with care and attention to detail. The vibe? Effortlessly cool and unpretentious. Whether you’re catching up with friends or savoring a quiet solo brunch, the laid-back atmosphere and friendly service make this spot feel like your own secret retreat. If you’re in South Redondo Beach and crave good food, inexpensive drinks, and a chill, welcoming ambiance, Serendipity is where you want to be. Don’t sleep on this spot—it’s your new weekend obsession!
Everything was pretty good food was good the service was good atmosphere It was 9:00 in the morning so it was slow dead quiet I would like to try it on the atmosphere is a little more lively but the food's good.
I love the vibe and atmosphere of this gem. The staff is extremely helpful and the ambiance made it very memorable. The restaurant's menu is very diverse and appealing to different tastes. Our choices for this trip • Philly Cheese Steaks with Fries Rate: ☆☆☆ A Philly Cheese made with American Cheese just brings down the stock value. • Tuna Melt with Onion Rings Rate: ☆☆☆☆ It was fresh and plentiful. The Onion Rings and Fries stole the show with their unique look and taste!

The place was pretty empty so it was very surprising to me that the service we received was so slow. It took staff a while to ask how everything was or if we needed anything. My husband ordered the brisket sandwich and I ordered the brisket salad.......unfortunately both dishes came with very little brisket considering that is the main meat component in what we ordered so that was disappointing also other than their breakfast menu they really didn't have much options for lunch or dinner. Happy hour prices were great and their Mexican candy margarita was pretty tasty so I think the next time we go back we will definitely try a breakfast item and definitely a try a different margarita flavor.

It's not bad at all, seems like some locals are just trying to push new eateries out for the sake of keep redondo stuck in the 80s/90s. Overall everything was good, price range was 80 bucks for 2. 2 plates, 2 sides, coffees. I will say the ratio is a little off. You get a lot of home fries/potatoes that take up half the plate but an omelet that was 1/3 the size of the potatoes portions. The sides also. Brussel sprouts. They give you a LOT. I get that it's shareable but it could easily feed 5. Lobster Mac also could feed 4. I think they should tweak the portion sizes and pricing THEN this place will stay busy. Restaurants thrive on word of mouth. Also. Look into getting one of those food influencers in there ASAP.

I have eaten at Serendipity twice. Once for Sunday brunch and once for happy hour light dinner. I had the same experience both times. The waitstaff are solid. Everything else about this business is confusing. The prices are steep relative to other similar restaurants in the area. Expect to pay 20-30% more than you should for the caliber of food served. The menu offerings are vast, and executed with mediocrity. This may account for the expense. The food costs for this place must be insane since they don't seem to have any idea who they are. This tendency can also be observed in the decore. The space is massive and strangely organized with mismatched styles. Picture French cafe seating next to AI generated murals in garish colors on the patio, and the same style of artwork adjacent to pink velvet seating inside. The seating is nice, but the art screams tacky nightclub. Meanwhile the massive bar area gives the appearance of vacancy during their breakfast rush, which then makes the slow seating process feel surprising. It's just unusual choices in every direction. The odd choices and high prices could truly be excused if the kitchen was excellent though. I ordered classic items in both visits which should have been a slam dunk for any competent kitchen. In the first instance my huevos rancheros were simply not great, but hunger won and I at least ate. In ordering an Asian chicken salad I was stunned to see it was entirely white. I ate the chicken and tried the salad. Again the flavor missed the mark and I could not get past the white Napa cabbage which should have been pale green. My waiter very graciously took it off the bill, when he noticed I didn't enjoy it. However this is a $14 salad at happy hour. It's $22 regularly. It should be appetizing. In short this place seems like it needs a good consultant to help figure itself out. I always cheer for local restaurants, but this one needs to improve.
Walking in, I thought it was a nice spot, interesting menu, then... I thought it was my hair that dropped in my plate but then I moved a peice of ham and there was two more hairs...so three hairs were on my plate...under the food!
The hype for this restaurant was so far off the actual experience. We decided to try breakfast cause how can you screw up bkfst. Well they found a way. Eggs were overdone and home fry’s had too much oregano seasoning that permeated everything. Our waitress was just ok but had to hunt her down to get check. There were only 3 tables of people in the outside area. Outside of the patio the place looks like a commercial cafeteria. Very depressing. Would be surprised if they last mot than another 12 months. Go to Good Stuff just down the street!
Kind of feels like a hotel’s dining room. Not much personality… and I can say the same for the food. It had decent presentation and OK portions (except the scramble barely felt like 2 eggs), but it’s just completely lacking in flavor and originality. It’s almost as if they’re afraid to use salt and spices? The breakfast burritos literally tasted like nothing. The brisket was cooked well but had no flavor… which was all just a shame because it looked good on the plate. A bit steep too. Average price is between $18 and $24 for bland food. $8 for fresh OJ. Service was “meh”. Unfortunately it’s just very unmemorable. We won’t be coming back.

We really wanted to like this place, as it is within walking distance and we'd love to have a local hangout like this. First the facts: Sunday afternoon around 1:30PM, 1 coffee, 1 ice tea, 1 tuna melt, 1 patty melt = $55 (+tip). For that kind of coin, it needs to be really good. It's not, it's roadside diner fare prepared with minimal effort or care. I was raised to always finish what's on my plate and I always do. Not this time. The interior is nice, though. It used to be a Mexican restaurant (Ortega) and looked dark and a bit dungeony. Not anymore, they did a good job brightening the place up. Service was just adequate, and annoying is that the pay machine defaults to 20/22/25% tip, if you want to tip less you have to go for custom. We're not likely to be back here anytime soon. Too bad.
For Happy Hour Tango Mango Margarita was delicious. Philly cheese steak sliders needed au jus sauce and they provided a nice barbacoa or birria type sauce. Large portion of Brussels Sprouts with walnuts. I had to take part home. Could have used more honey. But tasty.

I first went here back in March 2025 and the place was packed and lively. There were plenty of servers and the service itself was great. The food was fresh and good. Fast forward to January 2026, the place was DEAD. There was only one server doing EVERYTHING. The music was so low you couldn’t hear and at one point it went silent. The food was not good. I ordered breakfast again and it got me sick for days !!! My cousin ordered mozzarella sticks and they were cold. Two more parties walked in after us and the same server with an ok attitude was helping them as well. Due to the one server doing everything I don’t blame him for not having a great attitude and lack of service. The menu is way too big and has A LOT of unnecessary stuff on there. This place is going downhill fast. This was the place I chose to have my birthday brunch because of the last good experience I had but this time around I was embarrassed.

Believe the reviews. Overpriced, bare bones decor, mediocre food, and subpar service. I really hate giving bad reviews, but this was needed. We need good quality restaurants in our neighborhood, this was not it. The only good item were the oysters, wings and margarita. The Asian salad, poke, and burger were really poor. I really wanted to support this new establishment. I won't be coming back.
