Sezam Rego Park Reviews
This restaurant is so good! The food is delicious and very unique. I would definitely go back
Yummy !!! Loved everything !! Casual feel but the old schoolers dress up anyways lol Food is amazing and I got great service too
Arthur was our server and he was absolutely amazing!!!! He was so sweet and patient and very well mannered!!!! The sweetest server I have ever encountered!!!
We had Sezam chef and his team cater my husbands birthday in Jersey last night! We don’t know where to start! Everything was perfect from start to finish! First and foremost food was out of this world! Every single guest had something good to say about the food! But what’s just as important, chef is super lenient with timing. When most of our guest were running pretty late, he made sure to adjust the time accordingly to assure everyone is able to enjoy everything straight from the grill. One more things to say about the food - the portions!!! Oh my gosh! Portions are huge, chefs generosity had no limits! Lastly, the team! Team was great, everyone was extremely nice and pleasant. They worked around all our needs with professionalism and smiles in their faces. Oksana the server was a doll! She assured tables were always neat and tidy. She had access to our kitchen in the house and made sure everything was neat and clean there as well. I was pleasantly surprised when she packed all the leftovers and neatly stacked everything up before leaving - I didn’t expect her to do it and was pleased with that as well. Overall, she’s another great experience. Not only my husband was happy with his birthday, but all the guests as well! We’ll definitely be hiring Chef Isaac again many more times! Million thanks again!
I recently had dinner at this restaurant and was blown away by both the food and the service. Every dish we ordered was delicious – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen really takes pride in their work. But what made the night truly special was our server, Artur. He was incredibly attentive, kind, and professional throughout the entire evening. Artur made excellent recommendations, checked in on us at the right times, and made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. His warm attitude and attention to detail really elevated the whole experience. Highly recommend this place – and if you go, definitely ask for Artur. He’s a gem!
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The service was truly outstanding, the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely delicious. The kebabs were perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection — some of the best I’ve ever had. The chebureki were also incredible: crispy on the outside and filled juicy meat. Highly recommend, I’ll definitely be coming back!
This is my first time ordering food here. I ordered Lulya Kabab, Cheburek with meat, and green pilaf. They packed the food well in aluminum foil, ensuring it stayed hot until I got home. The lulya kaba was juicy and well seasoned, and the cheburek was a delightful surprise. I didn't know, so I cut it in half and, therefore, lost some of the juices, but it didn't take away from the wonderful, delicate taste, while the burek maintained its crispiness. Finally, the green pilaf is rich in dill and other herbs, which give it a green color (hence the name) and a rich flavor. It is also rich in meat, as expected, and beyond. Service was friendly and efficient. They promised 10 minutes for pick up and so it was. I will definitely order or dine in again.
I grew up eating this cuisine, so my standards are high. In a neighborhood full of similar restaurants, it’s hard to stand out—but this place absolutely does. How? By keeping it simple and focusing on what matters most: making the food truly delicious. I was blown away by how flavorful and well cooked everything was. I’ve finally found my go-to spot in NYC—somewhere I can proudly bring friends to share a taste of my culture.
I dine in this place many times, and I was impressed by the delicious food, attentive and friendly waitresses, and reasonable prices. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared, making every bite enjoyable. The staff's warm hospitality added to the great value of the meal. Highly recommended!
Positives: Amazing Pilaff and chebureki, service blazing fast and attentive. Food is beyond expectation, don't judge by the cover! I recommend ordering or privatizing the place, but no walk ins. Negatives: The menu is poorly made and not appealing, it looks like a cheap street kebab shop. The music was LOUD like VERY loud. The loudest restaurant I have been in my entire life and by a stretch. The room is filled with gigantic speakers and there's a live show with an unhealthy volume, you can't speak to anyone, don't even try. It is so loud that the only way to communicate with the staff is sign language. My ears are still ringing from last night, I think I lost most of my hearing that night.
Food was decent. Kebabs were a bit dry, but what happened to the entertainment? There used to be a great Russian singer on staff. Very talented girl. Not many places have live entertainment anymore so it was a great treat to see.
The place is pretty but the did not so great, specially the green rice don't order it's greasy and has no flavor and they don't care that they give bad food, and after they brought me burnt potatoes after making me wait 30 min for them... Everything else we ordered had nothing special... I recommend better Taste of Samarkhan.
I was in Sezam yesterday with my family the food was disgusting soup lagman meat was not chewable, Manti was not cooked, shashlik baranina was not cooked blood was coming and not chewable. This is my second time going no change, I would never go back again this place, only if would be new ovner. I don't recommend go sezam. I spend $470 this amount of money went to the garbage.
We had a very unpleasant experience at Restaurant. Our waiter was extremely rude to my father, who is 70 years old. He politely asked for a small salty appetizer plate, but the waitress started yelling at him and arguing in a very aggressive way, insisting that she “just decided to do it like that.” She never apologized for her behavior. It was my child’s birthday, so we decided not to make a scene and stayed calm, but the whole situation really ruined the mood. We expected a friendly and respectful service, especially for older guests, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
Food was terrible, states it’s kosher but smelled and didn’t even taste good. Rude customer service and not real life music. Don’t come to this place if you want your money thrown away.
Very inconvenient location. We came all the way from Staten Island because we saw many positive reviews. Finding parking was extremely difficult. According to both the restaurant’s website and Google, they are supposed to open at 11:00 PM. We arrived at 3:00 PM — it was closed. No hours posted on the door, no sign explaining anything. Terrible experience. I will never come back and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
