Il Rifugio Rialto Reviews
We've been to this lovely little place several times, where the food is excellent, but this time we happened upon it when it was closed... despite this, the lady welcomed us and made us two delicious hot chocolates. Kindness makes the difference!
Polenta con cinghiale is just the best. Beef has a really rich flavor. Large portion. Good price and friendly service
I stayed at the refuge for one night during a motorcycle tour and had a great time. I recommend this place for its stunning location atop the Melogno hill, just after the fort. The owner is also an excellent cook and always kind and helpful.
We visited Il Refugio in Melogno during our hiking trip of the Sentiero Italia and were impressed by the hospitality and delicious food prepared by Mirna. Great place to go that we can recommend. Thanks for all
We don't usually write reviews, but this place deserves a few words. While everyone has their own tastes, and we certainly wouldn't, we can only speak highly of it (in every way). The place is truly worth a visit. Inside, you can feel the atmosphere of times gone by... a family-like atmosphere, extremely refined and elegant in its style. Every detail is carefully considered and placed with taste and refinement. Truly charming. The staff is exquisite. They always have a smile for everyone, and with courtesy and kindness, they try to accommodate the needs of their diverse clientele. And then, the desserts deserve special mention. Every day, the owner, with great skill, creates truly innovative and truly delicious cakes. Her skill lies in combining unusual ingredients to create one-of-a-kind delicacies. They're all worth trying!!! Today we tried the chocolate and coconut baked cheesecake, superb! And the owner generously let us try the quinoa and chocolate cake, pure bliss!! If you're a foodie, stop by and you won't be disappointed! Word of mouth. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! See you at the next dessert 😋
A pleasant stop at the Rifugio, we were welcomed and served in a more than reasonable time despite the crowds. We ordered the wild boar with baked potatoes, tender and flavorful, the ravioli filled with Roccaverano robiola cheese and topped with delicious leek cream, and to finish, we sampled a delicate panna cotta that was more like a blancmange due to its lightness, accompanied by a delicious homemade peach jelly and a generous slice of migliaccio (excellent and gluten-free...). A welcoming, clean place, with quick service and average prices. Congratulations on your hard work! We'll definitely be back.
I can't say enough good things about it. On every bike ride, and not only, I stop by to enjoy carefully prepared dishes and excellent desserts. The place is enchanting, especially for bike lovers. The owner and staff are always kind and helpful. I recommend it to everyone. My favorite dish? Ravioli with robiola. For dessert, go for the migliaccio. For dinner, you might even find a cozy fireplace...
We are two hikers who, while hiking the Sentiero delle Terre Alte, chose Il Rifugio to stay overnight during the stage at Colle del Melogno. The owner was very kind and helpful, the room was cozy and well-appointed with a very nice private bathroom. Everything was spotless. The dinner was plentiful, with delicious and tasty dishes. Excellent breakfast. The price was more than fair. Definitely recommended.
Excellent little spot on the Melogno hill, with plenty of parking. We spent a Thursday evening at the Il Rifugio restaurant, served by the very kind owner. We came with a dog and a stroller, and she set us up at a table large enough for everyone. The food was excellent, everything she made. Grilled tomino with speck, potato and zucchini tart with gorgonzola, tagliolini with wild boar, agnolotti del plin, tortelli with roast beef and hazelnuts, roast beef and veal with tuna sauce and baked potatoes (spectacular). Not to mention the desserts: excellent panna cotta and a very good banana and chocolate cake, with the addition of peach jelly made by the owner, which was truly special. Although the restaurant is rustic on the outside, inside it seems to have been recently renovated, very clean and welcoming. The background music (a bit 1920s jazz) creates a great atmosphere, which isn't annoying. We'll be back!
We had the best dining experience in the entire region here! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant is beautifully equipped. We tried the carbonara and gnocchi, both absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. The espresso at the end was excellent as well. It was the perfect pitstop before heading off on the mountain trails. Highly recommended!
if I eat pasta, I never ride fasta really good meal, nice ambient, lovely service I love it.

Very tasty, small and fresh menu, fast service for a reasonable price!
Very nice, recently renovated atmosphere. Typical local dishes, well-prepared and made with fresh ingredients. The staff is friendly and fast. The only downside is the price is a bit high; if it had been €10 less, I think it would have been more in line with what we ate.
Perfect for a mellow stopover in the middle of nowhere homemade jams tarts, food all geniuine
An experience not to be repeated. The place is nice inside, but lacking organization. They served two tables that arrived later. A long wait to take our orders, where at 12:40 some dishes were already sold out. We were brought six plates of ravioli, not even all at once, containing maybe 10-12 ravioli (€12 each), dry bread, runny mint panna cotta... it was supposed to be with limoncello too, but it didn't arrive. In short, six ravioli, five desserts (€5 each), dry bread, half a liter of wine by the glass, two bottles of water, and three coffees. We were told they'd cost €150. The ravioli and desserts totaled €97, so that means the cover charge and coffee plus half a liter of wine and water came to €53. If there hadn't been people waiting to pay after us, I would have asked for clarification on the bill. We entered at 12.30 and left at 2.30, a very long wait, for a decent first course and an unexceptional dessert in small portions.
Unfortunately, I can't give it less than 1 star.... We usually go to this place for a coffee or a meal when we pass by. We wanted to try lunch, we booked, but when we arrived we discovered that they hadn't reserved a table for us... It's nothing, the waitress was very rude and demanded an explanation... I've never trusted reviews, this time I should have taken them into account..... Terrible service, terrible welcome... I'll never know about the food... 🤔🥺🙃.. We would have expected at least an apology for not keeping the table for us, but instead the waitress was just making excuses.. Totally incompetent... Better to change jobs... remember, not every day is Sunday and summer ends quickly..
