Tsing Tao Richmond Reviews
First time to dine in here, usually i have it delivered through grubhub. They always have huge portions for a price that doesnt break the bank. We had their lunch specials and the serving was big..it came with free soup, the soup was the hot and sour, i finished it but i wasnt always a fan. Parking is difficult, the anxiety having to park by the side of the road, and a lot of vehicles passing by..but no harm done.
Small, cozy, and clean restaurant. The food was delicious, fresh, and tasty, and the portions were huge! My kids eat all the vegetables and love it! When I am in town, I’ll come back for more!
Need quick delivery while stuck at home? This place will treat you right. Call directly, pay cash, and they will appreciate your service. Great local business to support!
The dishes I ordered were very delicious. Will certainly come back for more!
Sooooo damn good! Great service, great food! Had the Dragon Beef, string bean chicken and pork stickers was just the right amount of food for three of us. Will eat here again and again! Thank you!

A great local hole in the wall. Been going for 10 years, and for a while, the quality seemed to be lacking, but the last 2 times I got it within the new year, they seem to be back in their prime. Everything is delicious, balanced, and cooked to perfection again. Their prices have increased thru the years, but are still pretty reasonable, and the portion sizes have stayed the same, guaranteeing leftovers even just from a lunch combo. The only thing I didn't like was that they now charge a mandatory 15% "service fee" even on take out. As well as a few other hidden taxes and fees that Jack the price up significantly. I don't love that. Give me the chance to tip, don't force my hand in it, and not tell me until I get the check. Just rubs me the wrong way. But other than that, my absolute all time favorite Chinese in the area. Can't beat it
Best Chinese food in Richmond hands down. We always get the chicken chow mein, fried prawns and chicken with orange twists. Delivery is always fast and customer service is amazing. We are going to miss ordering from here once we move out of state.
As many others have said before me, the food here is great. Large portions and they're delicious. The prices are reasonable at any hour but if you go during their lunch specials time they are EXTREMELY reasonable. Like UNDER ten bucks for your whole meal! And the service is also very good. But wait! Why am I telling you all this? I LIKE the way it's never crowded whenever I go. Now I might have changed it forever!
The best Chinese food I’ve ever had and the portions are huge. They are so friendly and their fried rice is bomb.
Good Chinese food, good portions, and good pricing. What more do you want? Ordered sweet and sour chicken, pork pot stickers, combination fried rice, and broccoli beef. Super happy! Will be ordering again!
1st time here!! EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Didn't know we wouldn't get rice, but we will just ask for it next time. Service was awesome. Very friendly. This may just be our new spot.
Order pickup from this place and it was so delicious! The appetizers for two was perfect for my wife and I; we really enjoyed having little tastes of four different types of appetizers and all of them were great. We also got their Dragon Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, and combination chow mein that were all so tasty. We are definitely coming here again and will be telling all our friends and family.

Our favorite Chinese delivery! Even long before the pandemic and definitely through it, they've continuously provided top quality fresh and delicious food with friendly drivers who are following safety protocols. Good prices for large plates so you'll be set for leftovers or plenty for 3+ people. If you haven't yet.. give them a try 😀 Update. March 2022 Food is still awesome. Delivery drivers are friendly and fast. HOWEVER: Recent fees and attitude from the staff about it are a huge turn off for me. Delivery fees, convenience fees, and tips when there were none before added about $10-15 to my orders. I ordered lunch specials online, which let me make additions to rice choices for only $1.00 but even with pick up at restaurant there was an additional convenience fee. After I placed the order anyway, they immediate called and said they would not honor my choices from the online order because it was a lunch special. If there won't do that, it shouldn't be offered online and surely they shouldn't argue about it. I canceled the order and went to Panda Express. No, not as high quality but the food there is good, no hidden fees, and no attitude or guilt trips from the staff. I don't know when I will go back to Tsing Tao, but it will be a long time before I call them again. Aug 2023 update: I started ordering and picking up orders to avoid fees, etc. I see different staff who have been friendly and have not had any issues recently so I'm happy to be enjoying their great food once again. I have 3 star on atmosphere since it's a small, hole in the wall kind of place, but it's clean and inviting... I still rather just get take out.

"I ordered Twice Cooked Pork, Mushroom Tofu, and Eggplant with Szechuan Sauce for takeout this afternoon. I felt strange when I saw the Twice Cooked Pork—it had very little pork and too many vegetables. The pork served was just meat. Normally, Twice Cooked Pork should be made with pork belly, which includes a mix of skin, fat, and meat, but what I received was only lean meat. I didn’t enjoy it, and my wife scolded me for wasting money on this food. The restaurant looks cozy and busy, but I was not satisfied with my order. There were very few mushrooms, or possibly none at all, in the Mushroom Tofu. I asked my wife, and she said there were only a few pieces."

It was ordered online. Within 15 minutes it was ready. The sweet n sour pork- old meat, hard. Not enjoyable at all. I had to spit it out🤮🤢 Fresh foods make a person come back for more. Old food give a back stomachache. Or have you rushing to the bathroom. 2-3 hours later. My bill was over $60+
The food is simply not fresh. The salt and pepper fish is unfortunately dry and tasteless. Same with the sesame chicken. The fried rice has no special taste to it, pretty much just soy sauce and rice. The string beans were the best dish that we had.
The food is horrible. Low quality chicken and fish. It taste old not fresh. The worst Chinese food I’ve had. Tasteless. Please look elsewhere because they can’t cook

I have never written on Yelp before. I heard that this place was pretty good and had good reviews; unfortunately, I had a horrible experience and sixty dollars later (including tip) I found that my sesame chicken was old, hard, cold and burned. My broccoli beef was underwhelming with "raw" broccoli and very, very little beef. I hope they get it together, the place has so much potential.
If you have allergies BE CAREFUL! I made sure to specify I have a severe shellfish allergy and asked if they’d be able to accommodate that and I found shrimp in my BBQ Pork fried rice! I ended up being ok luckily I hadn’t eaten anything yet but It actually made me kind of sad 😭
Judging by the reviews, the place has really fallen in the past weeks. I wish we had checked the reviews before going there. We went there for lunch. While the place is nice enough, the service was truly terrible. The staff had loud conversations throughout the meal, and it was difficult to get the waitress' attention. She got my order wrong, I corrected them and she repeated the correction, and still got me what she had originally said - and I didn't want. My husband ordered an appetizer, but it was substituted for a different, more expensive one. The food itself was oily and pretty tastless, with probably less than 5-6 thin slices of protein. There were a lot of oily, half fried vegetable chunks. All piled on a small appetizer plate, with the food sliding off onto the table. Why not give us a normal-sized meal plate? The lunch is offered with rice or noodles - they don't mention anywhere that $1 is added for this, until we see the bill. Also added to the bill is the substantial tip - I suppose they have had more than a few unhappy customers and took precautions! We got out of there feeling cheated, and will not return.
