It's a little place that packs a great punch! Best pancakes ever. Eggs perfect...food hot! Great service too! Cash only!

Now this is a classic, old-timey diner! This place is Cash Only, but the food is quick, reasonably priced, and tasty! They make my favorite hash browns in town (extra crispy, of course) and their omelettes are a good size! If you want biscuits and gravy, show up early, because they sometimes run out!

Amazing place with amazing people. I've never had any experience like it anywhere else and I try to go there at least 3 times a week. They are cash only, but as a result it's about $17 or so for an incredibly large breakfast and large amounts of coffee. On weekends when I go in, due to me doodling on napkins the waitress will sometimes give me a stack of napkins so I have more room for everything. Seriously, the best place in California, and I'll deeply miss everything about it as I move away.

Been going there for over 50 years. Different owners through different times but it's still the same feeling locals that have been here for a long time always gather there for breakfast. Was just there for breakfast this morning. You really got to love it it's like something that lives on. It's a real hometown Midway Cafe locals for a long time residents have gathered there for decades and I enjoy every time I sit there coffee is always great service is fantastic and the food is great I recommend the biscuits and gravy. But get there early it will be gone by 9:00 a.m.

Best old school type of cafe ever. I chose to check this place out based on the fact they seemed to be known for their biscuits and gravy among the locals and didn't disappoint. Their biscuits are perfect and I just loved their hashbrowns flavor and the ham and cheese omelet I ordered. Their coffee is the beat diner type of coffee too. Our waitress was so nice and friendly and even though my son had spilled his soda she didn't get upset at all hut had a wonderful and friendly disposition. Our family has definitely found it's favorite breakfast spot anytime we are in ridgecrest.

Great little hole in the wall place to eat. It is so cool when you walk in there it is like walking into a time capsule where everything got stuck in the 70's. The food is amazing I had the burger when I went and my mother had the tuna melt the food was amazing. Highly recommend this place if your into classic diner food. Make sure to bring cash with you though it is a cash only establishment!

My buddy ate all the biscuits and gravy one time just to make sure another rude customer couldn’t order it. The staff was amazing even to the rude customer. Go get them biscuits and say hi from me(they don’t know me by name but that’s ok)

New to the area and was looking for a old fashion family restaurant. The place isn't much to look at inside, but the food speaks for itself. A strong value for your hard earned money. The biscuits and gravy are simply the best in the city. The place is a gem in the rough and should be tried by all

Excellent server "Sue" & nice, general coffee shop food & atmosphere. Ordered eggs, oatmeal, etc. No complaints. If you're looking for a coffee shop like your grandparents went to, this is the one. If you're looking for something with up to date or trendy food options, this is not the one so don't complain. It gets 5 stars for being exactly what we were looking for.

When his wife is cooking, you will get the best pancakes around. No matter who is cooking the bacon comes out perfect, nice and thick with great flavor. Homemade biscuits are a plus. Just remember to bring cash, doesn't accept credit cards.

Cash only business, but worth it. Seats are old and the interior has the perfect "greasy spoon" feel. Amazing food and staff. BEST CHEESEBURGER IN TOWN!!! Highly recommend the Bacon Double Cheeseburger!

This is the classic small town cafe experience. Breakfast served all day and cash pay only. I got the omelet and was pleasantly surprised to have it cooked quite well. The same story with my wife's zucchini frittata. The inside doesn't have much space, but I'd recommend giving it a shot!

I found this small cafe when I stayed in the motel next door. I went there, Budget Inn, to get away from the old Motel 6 several blocks down with their lousy service, but that's another story. Anyway, this is a small diner that serves breakfast and lunch. I've been going there for breakfast on Friday's and like the menu and particularly the service. Sue runs around serving the customer with a great attitude. You won't run out of coffee or whatever else with her around. Good time to go is before 8:30 AM when the regulars come in. Another thing I like is they have Tobasco sauce by default instead of some other places that treat it like it is some treasure that has to be safeguarded from the masses.

A fantastic old school breakfast joint. It's looked this way since the 70s. Some of the seats are patched. It looks worn. But the coffee is endless, the staff are super helpful (everyone gets called "hon") and the food is amazing. I had the best omlette of my life here: perfectly cooked and seasoned. Phenomenal. Excellent value for money. Go if you are ever in Ridgecrest, it's a gem. They don't take credit cards so bring cash, or go to the ATM across the street first.

This place is full of rustic charm. You can tell that it has been around for a while. That being said, the service was amazing and super friendly. I got the Combination Omelette with a side of hash browns and sourdough toast. All the food was great tasting and hot when it came out and the coffee had great flavor too.

I really love the classic diner look on the inside, and you have plenty of room in a booth. They make their biscuits and gravy fresh every day, and they are delicious. The order of 3 biscuits with gravy was fresh, warm, and with a very generous portion of gravy. Mind you, these are large biscuits, so be prepared to be filled up on deliciousness. I also ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy, and it was very good, along with the fluffy scrambled eggs and nicely cooked home fries. I'll definitely be back for breakfast and lunch. My friend had the pancakes, bacon, and biscuits and gravy and really enjoyed them too. Also, you can't beat the price for the amount of food you get so bring your cash and support an awesome small business diner.

Loved the atmosphere and service, just as with the old time cafe's where so many gathered. Prices reasonable but food came in under average portions and while good, was unremarkable.

Classic waitress, old time prices, reasonable portions, homemade soft biscuits with delicious gravy, everything cooked right & not greasy. I had hash browns & corned beef hash, partner had nice sized Ortega Chili & Swiss omelette. We loved the wide variety of Smuckers jam & jelly choices. Seems a local hangout with blue collar workers & seniors. Opens 5 AM til 2PM, no credit cards!

Went by this at least 1000 times and never stopped until last month.........OMG was it ever good have been 3x already and have had wonderful food each time. The waiter and cook are very friendly. It is truly a hidden gem........lots of people like it (even saw my doctor there). It is small and only open for breakfast and lunch but has that old diner feel (very comfortable and clean). Give it a try.

The server is always very friendly. The biscuits and gravy is delicious. The decor is very dated and needs to be updated. The seats are very uncomfortable mainly cause the springs and cushioning in the seats are very worn out.

The service was good. The food was tasty. The breakfast burrito was excellent. My only complain is the coffee (burnt taste). And I described it more as a "coffee tea", because it was too light.

Small diner with very local feel and great service. It may not look like much from the outside but this high desert cafe is a time machine to the past. The decor and layout is mid-century cafe with what looks like all original furnishings. Maybe reupholstered sometime during the Carter Administration, it is nostalgic without trying to be. Food is good without pretension or much flair, but this isn’t that type of restaurant; burgers, breakfasts, comfort food. What sets this little cafe apart was the service; welcoming without being sappy or fake. Great little spot.

Diner that looks like it hasn't been updated since it opened a million years ago.. Cushions on chairs are ripped, the floor is so sticky that it takes some effort to lift up your feet from the floor lol. The food was average diner food, Everyone raves about the biscuits and gravy but it's nothing special. Our server was fantastic. She was the only one there and incredibly efficient and very friendly. Cash only.

Pretty decent little spot but expensive for a tiny greasy spoon. 45 bucks for 2 small breakfast plates, coffee and oj. Frozen bag o hash browns and bulk sausage with two eggs and toast. Should have been half that price.

Midway Cafe is a pretty average spot overall. It’s a decent place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch, and the menu has the usual diner-style options—eggs, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches. The food is okay, but nothing really stands out. It gets the job done if you’re hungry, but don’t expect anything too memorable. Service is usually friendly, though sometimes a bit slow if it’s busy. The place has a small-town, casual vibe, which is nice, but the atmosphere can feel a little dated. It could use a refresh to feel more inviting. Not a bad option if you’re nearby and need a simple meal, but it wouldn’t be my first choice if I had other options. Just a middle-of-the-road experience all around.

Been here a few times and service from the young lady😉that works there serving everyone is always great. But this last time I wasn't so happy about my order. I ordered the breakfast special and the pancake was literally fried and hard and the second pancake on top was fried as well but soft enough to eat. I asked for my eggs over medium I received over hard and my bacon was dry and very very over cooked. Not happy at all with my order. My husband ordered the denver omelet. Apancake on the side which was 3.50! Wow!! But his breakfast was great!! Dont know if well be back....

The older server in the morning had a male chauvinist attitude, sarcastic and biting whenever I asked him any questions about a manual item. He was nice and polite to the male travel companion. The place is part of Oasis motel. It's not exactly a high-end restaurant to have such a snooty and bad attitude.
