Taste Italian Kitchen Ridgeland Reviews
Went to Taste for a birthday dinner with a friend and we had the best time. We ordered the chicken piccata and chicken parm, both were really good, but the piccata was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had, no cap. Our server Jake was super friendly and on point the whole night. Great food, great vibes, we’ll definitely be back!
Happy to see Taste come to Ridgeland. We’ve loved the one in Starkville for years. The food has always been great and this place has one of the best atmospheres in town. All of the staff were super friendly and the chef and owner even made their way to the table during our visit to check on us and make sure we were happy. Highly recommend!!
Just checked out Taste—a brand new Italian concept to the Ridgeland area—and I’m really glad I did. They’ve had a location in Starkville, but this is their first time bringing it to the Jackson metro, and it’s a great fit for the Renaissance. I had the Chicken Parmigiana with a caesar salad, and it was spot on. My friends tried some sandwiches and the chicken piccata—everyone left happy. The vibe is classy but comfortable, and the service was great. Excited to see this place grow and can’t wait to come back!
First, I would like to commend Rodney and Isaiah, my servers on both visits, for their exceptional service. Next, I thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers, including the fried mozzarella ravioli, garlic knots, and world-famous meatball. The lunch entrees, specifically the Capone Ribeye Sandwich and the taste burger, were also impressive. However, the pizza (Margherita Pizza) and pasta (Seafood Linguini) fell short of expectations. Additionally, the Parmesan chicken salad was disappointing, with the fried chicken lacking sufficient seasoning, and for dessert the Tiramisu was descent. The atmosphere was modern and sophisticated, but the room temperature was uncomfortably cold, so it is recommended to bring a jacket. I intend to return for lunch, but not dinner.
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Taste last night, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Every dish was outstanding, and our server, Campbell, went above and beyond—so kind, patient, and informative. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening and will definitely be returning!
From the moment we walked into Taste Italian Kitchen at the Renaissance in Ridgeland, we were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance was crisp, clean, and visually satisfying—setting the tone for a high-quality dining experience. Our time at the bar was exceptional, thanks to the bartender Moe who provided both a personal and professional touch. Her warm spirit, versatility and leadership truly stood out, making us feel both valued and well taken care of. Shoutout to Kam, Drea, and Megan for their friendliness and warm energy. They also helped create an inviting atmosphere that made our first visit feel like home. The food, drinks, and presentation were all top tier—absolutely delicious and beautifully served. We also appreciated the seamless shift change transition; we were respectfully asked if we’d prefer to cash out or have our tab transferred to the incoming staff member. It was handled with such professionalism that it elevated the experience even more. This was our first visit, but definitely not our last. Taste Italian Kitchen has earned a permanent spot on our go-to list. Highly recommend!
My wife and I went to Taste for date night last night and it was phenomenal! We ordered the chicken piccata and chicken Marsala, both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We also tried their charcuterie board and it was honestly the best we’ve ever had. Our server, Erin, was amazing, so attentive and kind, and everyone we interacted with was welcoming and accommodating. Such a wonderful experience from start to finish. We can’t wait to go back!
My friend and I had our birthday dinner here and absolutely loved it! To be truthful, my expectations were definitely high, yet Taste hit the mark every time. We adored Jake, our server. Everything was wonderful from the atmosphere to the service to the food. I highly recommend coming here when you get a chance!
The restaurant is beautifully renovated with a fresh, modern feel and a beautiful enteance display that is perfect for picturesl. The food quality really stands out especially dishes like the beef carpaccio, which pairs thinly sliced beef with fresh arugula. The staff is very professional and upbeat. Everyone who works there seems to be so genuinely happy. My first visit was during a very busy time, and the noise level affected the experience. For this visit, everything was perfect and the music was enjoyable and not overwhelming. I look forward to for my next visit.
I went to dinner with my mom on our night off to enjoy some time together in a restaurant we new we’d love. Going to restaurants with my mom can be tricky because she’s Vegan and particular about her food. She had the vegan steak and absolutely loved it!! I had the salmon and was very pleased with the final product!! We were seated smoothly and taken care of by Destiny. Destiny was very calm, friendly, excellent, and articulate! My mother and I enjoyed our time and will be returning again!
My wife and myself stopped Taste Italian Kitchen and had a wonderful meal. The chicken Alfredo had really large chunks of chicken. The sauce was outstanding.my Wife had the shrimp Alfredo and a salad. The iced tea was outstanding.Sharom was our waitress and she did a fine job greeting us getting our drinks sitting down and bringing things and checking on us throughout our meal there was a young man that brought our meal out. His name was James and he is a waiter very polite very well mannered young man I give him credit. There’s a young lady that was cleaning setting tables making sure everything was just right, and her name was Tasha. She did an outstanding job like all of the employees that I saw but the ones that I talked with did an outstanding fine job. I recommend the Taste of Italian kitchen 100%. there is a very short video that shows the windows with a push of a button go from clear vision to opaque. Very cool.
This experience was truly exceptional. The ambiance was beautifully decorated for Christmas, enhancing the overall atmosphere. The service and culinary offerings were outstanding, making it a worthwhile experience. The pasta was exquisite, and the servers were courteous, friendly, and attentive. Additionally, the soup was delicious and remarkably rich. Each dish was elegantly presented and surpassed the quality of any other restaurant I have visited.
A Great first impression!! Taste exceeded expectations. Jasmine was a phenomenal server, funny, helpful and pleasant the entire dining experience. Tried the app sampler. The spinach and artichoke dip is better than it has any right to be and the wonton chips make it sing. Fried raviolis and arinicinis (fried rice balls stuffed w smoked Gouda) that rival those in Sicily. Had a supreme pizza. Just the right amount of char in the crust, plenty of toppings and overall good quality! Excellent drinks and a pretty comfortable atmosphere. Give Taste a taste!
First time at Taste. Tried to go before w/o reservations. Long wait so no go. Lesson learned. Make reservations to avoid disappointment. Anyway, place is very nice decorated for holidays. Our server was KiKi who was just super. Great attitude and really knew the menu for great suggestions. I did not find the restaurant overly loud. So on to the food. Five of us went and everyone was happy with food. I had a Cooper filly cheese sandwich which was outrageous. Shaved imported ribeye and boy it was good. Summary: a great place to meet and eat. Very high recommendation.
We are in from PNW for hubbys employment & this was our 1st of what I’m sure will be many more visits. Let’s start with the ⭐️of the evening. Ranada was our server & attentive would be an understatement. She was thoughtful $ helped us with understanding menu items ingredients & was Quite knowledgeable Now let’s get to the meal We tried the appetizer plate with the rice balls, fried cheese ravioli & spinach artichoke dip. Those “chips”. OMG is an understatement- the dip is subtle & PERFECT! It’s so so so good Dinners? We NEVER choose lasagna in restaurants anymore we are always disappointed. We all hate wasting good, hard earned $$$ & I have never tasted any zag better than mine. Until tonight. I made the exception so I could share with hubby & I am grateful for doing so. It came in its own pan~ it was so freaking yummy. Well, tbh one side was red & one white. Due to having bigger eyes than a stomach - I have yet to try the other white sauce side of it. (I will edit when I do “taste” it~ which will be midnight tonight in the dark where there will plausable deniability. 🤣 edit: hubby got to it first😢🤣🤣 Hubby had the Lobster risotto -which was a 1st for me. It was creamy & rich. The lobster was plentiful& bigger pieces. Worth every bite. The bread? I waited & figured sourdough. I was so happy when it wasn’t. Now let’s talk about getting ready to leave. Again Ranada, she boxed up 1st the appetizers & she was cognitive of my issues with food touching. She did a better job than I would have! Then she boxed up our leftovers the exact same way. With care. I cannot say enough good things about your staff.
I arrived around 2:45 on Saturday. Taste is located in Renaissance in Ridgeland. This location has housed two other Italian restaurants in the past. This is a very beautiful, bright, and inviting restaurant. They were very busy still. There were several large tables and people walking in and out. I was alone so I asked to sit at the bar. The bar had obviously been busy too as there were no clean seats but they cleaned one for me. I was hoping the crowd had died down a little bit after the lunch rush but hey, it’s always a good sign to be busy! I waited several minutes for service. The bar tender was busy making many drinks for the restaurant and they seemed to be going through a shift change as well. I enjoyed a Grey Goose Lemon Drop Martini while I waited on my appetizers; Fried Calamari and Bruschetta. The Fried Calamari was delicious. It was served with Marinara and what the menu called a citrus aioli. I loved the marinara but the citrus aioli just tasted like cold Alfredo sauce which I didn’t think complimented the Calamari like the delicious Marinara did. The bread that is served with the Bruschetta is divine. It is crunchy on the outside edges but soft and chewy in the middle. Bruschetta is one of my absolute favorite appetizers and while I loved the bread, the flavors were a little off for me. The bruschetta toppings seemed really watered down. The tomatoes were just too mushy for my liking. I ordered a simple Pepperoni and Mushroom for us to enjoy later at home. I finished my dining experience with a basil lemon drop while waiting on my to-go pizza. The bartender was happy to grab some fresh basil from the kitchen and it was so good and refreshing. Y’all should try it! I’m looking forward to taking my husband with me to Taste and trying some of their other dishes.
Food and service were absolutely amazing! Our server, Ranada, did a spectacular job as our waitress! The pizza was on point and so was the Spaghetti and Meatballs!
The main dining room seems a little flat since they remodeled it from Enzo's and Biaggi's and those little weird water glasses they give you at the beginning with 2 sips of tepid water? what is that about? The food was good!
We have visited twice to Ridgeland Taste. We love the decor, beautiful. Husband said chicken Piccata was best he had ever had. Seafood pasta was fantastic. I had the Red snapper w eggplant last night. It was outstanding, delicious. We did not have reservations but sat at the bar. Service was great, Kitty went above expectations. A great "date" night!!
The seafood linguine is an absolute delight. The pesto sauce is perfect it’s tossed in a light, flavorful sauce that doesn't overpower the delicate seafood freshly cooked just right, providing a burst of oceanic goodness with every bite. What sets this dish apart is the subtle hint of garlic and herbs, which elevates the overall taste without being too heavy. It’s a harmonious blend of flavors that leaves you craving more . Making it a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal.
John was our server. He was absolutely amazing! The food was fantastic! I will definitely be back. Can't wait to taste the pizza!
Very "tasty"! Our server (RJ) was excellent. I LOVE when it's obvious a server has been well-trained, and CARES about his/her customers!
The food was delicious. The atmosphere was divine and the service was impeccable! Lindsey was our waitress and she is an angel! 10/10 highly recommend!!!!
This restaurant has Italian "taste"-y food at reasonable prices. Lots of servers, attentive and pleasant. The place is packed, you need reservation. The owner is going to all the tables and talks to the customers; he makes sure they are treated well. I recognize a good restaurant when they don't use fragrances in the dining areas or in the restrooms, and they simply maintain a clean space. This restaurant has modern built cleanest restrooms. I am allergic to fragrances and so I am happy I found a place where I can eat without inhaling fragrances I don't want. I will go there for more! You will like this place!
Foodie speaking here - Taste Italian Kitchen delivers on flavor, service and experience! Everything I have tried on the menu is clearly made with passion and love! Order the Prosciutto -wrapped pork chop! One of the best things I have ever eaten. Pasta, pizza, fish, steaks, this place really has it all and it comes with one of the best bourbon collection and cocktail selections I have ever seen. At least visit the wine room if you can't sit there. It's absolutely beautiful. So excited to have this new restaurant come to the Jackson Metro Area located in Ridgeland! Suggested to make reservations because they stay booked!
Our server, Meagan B was superb! She made the dining experience 100% enjoyable! Excellent customer service. We will be back!
This was a large family gathering, and the service, food and attention were absolutely spot on. Absolutely delicious appetizers, entrees and dessert plus very attentive service. Would love to go again.
Me and my friends came to try Taste after hearing such good things about it from my family and we were not let down! The food was amazing and the service was top notch! Appetizers came out fast and fresh following by soup and entrees! I had the shrimp alfredo and it was some of the best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend Taste and will definitely be coming back!
My family and I dined at Taste Italian Kitchen in Ridgeland yesterday and we were all so impressed! My boys are extremely picky so I was concerned that they wouldn’t like it but they absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and the wait staff were so helpful and pleasant. Oh, and that cheesecake is DIVINE!!
We had an excellent dining experience at Taste with a group of four on Saturday night. The place was packed. The service was quick, and we were seated immediately with reservation. Our waiter was professional and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. The appetizer was served just 15 minutes after we sat down, which was very prompt. For the main courses, we ordered the veal piccata, which was tender and flavorful, the red fish that was fresh and expertly cooked, the ribeye steak which was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the chicken piccata, which was also delicious with a tangy, buttery sauce. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for group dining. Overall, a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Italian and seafood dishes. Highly recommended!
From the moment I walked into Taste Italian Kitchen, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, striking the perfect balance between modern elegance and cozy Italian charm. The service was exceptional—attentive without ever being overbearing. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. Now for the best part—the food. Every bite was unforgettable! The vodka rigatoni was clearly made fresh, with a perfect texture that you just can’t get from anywhere else. The sauces were rich, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. My entrée was beautifully plated and bursting with authentic Italian flavors. And the tiramisu? Absolute heaven—I highly recommend saving room for it. What truly sets these guys apart from the rest is the attention to detail. From the quality of ingredients to the presentation, everything feels thoughtfully crafted to create a memorable dining experience. Taste Italian Kitchen is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!
Taste Italian Kitchen is a gem in Ridgeland! Every dish we’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The staff is welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere feels both cozy and upscale, PERFECT for a date night or family dinner. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Italian food done right!
We had the best time! The food was incredible and Daniel made the experience even better. He was so friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. Definitely coming back soon!
My time dining at Taste Italian Kitchen, was an incredible experience. The mix of kind greetings from the fantastic hosts, servers, food runers, and managers made it an overall fantastic experience. The mix of easy dining mixed with elegant service made for an incredible experience. I will be back!
My partner and I went there for dinner. Seated almost immediately. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. All the staff were very helpful and professional. Food was top notch. I had chicken picatto and he had lasagna. Had the fried ravioli for appetizer. All were great. Hannah was our wait person. Very knowledgeable and professional. Daniel (general manager) went out of his way to make us feel welcome. And even took the time to show us around. Top notch all the way around.
We only had a small dinner of pizza, small salads, and Gelato, but it was great! Firebird pizza has great flavors - just watch out for the jalapeño peppers! Small Italian salads were tasty, and the cookis and cream Gelato was outstanding. Service at bar was very attentive and food delivery was quick.
The best Italian food I had. Definitely recommend it! We cut our trip in Texas 1 day short. At last minute, we booked a hotel at ridgeland. Ms. Decided to try this restaurant. My husband ordered bruschetta plate, veal Parmesan paired with red wine. I ordered seafood linguini swapped linguine to angle hairs with Rising. To our surprise, food were amazingly delicious! I mean DELICIOUS! The ingredients they used are fresh! Sundry tomatoes are not like the ones at Costco! Lucky for the folks live here to have such great restaurant. It is too far for us to drive 5 hours to dine here. They just open this location Aug. 2025 . Manager said the next 2 locations will be in Alabama and Tennessee. I’m hoping they will come to Atlanta soon. But not in midtown areas. Forgot to mention wine. The red house wine is Coppola Pinot noir. It was great. Normally, I don’t like the alcoholic smell of the red this house wine only has fruits aroma no alcohol smell. My Riesling is a bit on the sweet side than I anticipated. Music was fantastic Italian ! Very romantic! It was a home coming night, restaurant was packed. Service and food a bit slow. We didn’t mind at all!
We had our office Christmas Party Tuesday with about 25 people. Room set up was beautiful, food was delicious, service was great. I must give 5 stars to Megan and Justin who take care of us that evening. They were professional yet so nice and fun. They did an excellent job!!
Dined here for a celebration with my friend everything was amazing! Monae was our server and she was very attentive and accommodating. I had a salmon and my friend had pasta both were cooked to perfection.
I tell you what I do like first. Convenience to the shopping center and hotels. We made a reservation for 16. Had to wait for half of the people to get there before we were seated, but that's ok and standard. I like the menu choices. Meatballs, pasta, salads, desserts and fish were good. Con: uncomfortable wooden chairs and wood tables to match. Maybe this is a modern design. Curtains in aqua, walls in aqua and white. They changed the arrangement was the last restaurant and it is brighter. Overall was good. Service was great. Mgr came by to check on us. I just can't do the chairs. Sorry.
Service was absolutely wonderful from our waitress Beth! Best Cesar salad in the state! Atmosphere is delightful and very pleasant. Dinner is always superb! Food, service and atmosphere is top notch at this restaurant.
The atmosphere is amazing! The first thing I saw when entering was the nice clean, elegant decor. Service was fantastic. We were seated immediately, and our server always made sure our drinks were filled and our needs were met. The food was delicious, too! I had the fried gnocchi appetizer and the shrimp scampi entree. Both were so good I didn’t want to stop eating! Overall, a great experience!
I tried Taste this week and it was a fantastic experience! The food and staff are top notch✨ I tried the Calamari app (crispiest in town) with an old fashioned 🥃 the Chicken Piccata🥘, and the Gelato🍡 which is gluten free! If you are celebrating a special occasion or just feeling a little fancy you should try this Renaissance gem 💎
Matt was our server and was excellent. The red fish was delicious and my wife really enjoyed her pasta dish. Every one at the table loved the food and service.
Taste Italian Kitchen's lasagna is a delightful twist on a classic dish. The combination of marinara and Alfredo sauce creates a rich, creamy, and tangy flavor profile that is both comforting and exciting. The layers of pasta are perfectly cooked, providing a satisfying texture that complements the generous filling of seasoned meat and melted cheese. The marinara sauce adds a vibrant acidity that cuts through the richness of the Alfredo, preventing the dish from being overly heavy. The Alfredo sauce, on the other hand, introduces a velvety smoothness that envelops the other ingredients, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. Each bite is a balanced mix of savory, creamy, and tangy notes, making it a truly memorable culinary experience. Overall, Taste Italian Kitchen’s lasagna is a standout dish that elevates the traditional recipe with a creative and delicious sauce combination. It’s a must-try for anyone looking to indulge in a comforting yet innovative Italian meal. Also, the bar setup is phenomenal. There were so many bourbons to decide which one. The atmosphere was amazing and the flower background was perfect! Management was very attentive and checked during our visit. The owner should be proud of the “Tasteful Atmosphere “ that is being created!
We made reservations for my wife's birthday dinner and they made sure we had everything we needed. The food was great. Management went above and beyond. Our waitress was wonderful. The bartender was a blast. We will be back.
Came out to Taste tonight and the food was great!! Our server, Rae, was so awesome!!! She paid great attention to us and was right on. Will definitely be back!
Stopped by to celebrate my son’s birthday and it was amazing! Our server Mat was extremely professional and answered every question we had. He recommended the fried ravioli as our appetizer and my sons loved it. I got the ribeye medium and my wife got the redfish. Both of my kids got the kids pizza and they said it was delicious! They brought out ice cream and sparklers for my son’s birthday and made his night special. Definitely coming and 10/10 recommend!
I had a reservation two weeks prior for my boyfriend’s birthday as we saw all of the videos online of the cotton candy . When we got sat we was greeted immediately. Our server Cayden was amazing and went out of his way to give us the most wonderful experience we could ask for! The food was 10/10 as I got the Atlantic Salmon and it was cooked to perfection. My mom got the Seafood Linguine and i will be getting it next time as it was amazing. The manager, Daniel, came up to our table and was so attentive and polite. We recommend this place 10/10 times and we will be back! Also we recommend Cayden as a server as he was one of the best servers we’ve experienced in a very long time
I was very pleased with my dining experience. I came to eat here with my mom’s side of the family for Christmas! Beth was our server and she was absolutely incredible. She stayed on top of refills and when we first arrived she already had bread for us on the table. All in all, I would highly recommend dining at taste.
My visit was nothing short of amazing! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, but what truly made the experience stand out was the incredible staff. From start to finish, everyone was friendly, professional, and welcoming. A special shout-out to General Manager Daniel Alston, who clearly runs a great team. His leadership shows in the smooth service and positive atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Our waiter, Makenzie, was outstanding. She was extremely attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her service took the entire experience to the next level.
Justin our server 💯genuinely sweet and utmost professional. The truffle mushroom ravioli and spaghetti and Huge meatball Delicious. Homemade need I say more! Flavorful and perfectly cooked. The orange pistachio tart will knock your socks off. I didn’t try the cannoli but my dad said it was delicious. Definitely coming back to try the pizza next.
My experience tonight has been unparalleled. The service we received was far better than we could have imagined. Our server Monae' was top notch. The General Manager Daniel was simple amazing. We had a large group and the attention to detail as well as the constant engagement made us truly feel like VIPs. And to top it off, we met the owner who was genuinely appreciative for us patronizing his establishment. Tonight was some kind of wonderful. Oh and the salmon is DELICIOUS!!! Highly Recommend!!!
If you are in the mood for some good Italian food, good service, and a great atmosphere. Well look no further, because this is the place! Once we entered the restaurant, the hostess seated us 5 mins earlier than our reservation time (5:15pm). When seated our server "Makenzie" took over from their. Makenzie was the BEST! The service was excellent! She knew the menu really well. Every dish we asked about she had knowledge of them without looking at the menu. Very direct and precise with her words. We LOVED her service. The manager "Daniel" was awesome. He was watching over the floor making sure the servers was being attentive with their tables and making sure they had everything for their tables. Then "Q" the gentleman in the kitchen (kitchen manager) comes out to the table asking how was the food and we told him it was "TASTY, DELICIOUS, AND FLAVORFUL! The food was seasoned the temperature of the food was just PERFECT! The overall experience was wonderful we will be returning.
My husband and I went to celebrate our 24th Wedding Anniversary. The atmosphere was very nice, calm and inviting. There is seating in the foyer and a beautiful flower wall with Taste Italian Kitchen and pink Roses, beautiful backdrop for pictures. The tables are set with folded upright napkins, silverware and water glasses. Wait staff brings everyone a bottle of cold water and sliced bread baskets, olive oil and vinegar. The menu is straight to the point. Large card menu with choices on both sides and a smaller menus for drinks and desserts. Their birthday staple is a cotton candy tower with a side of sparkles ✨️. Such a beautiful surprise!!! We ordered fried Ravioli as an appetizer, husbae had Shrimp Alfredo, I had Chicken Alfredo and for dessert cheesecake. Husbae had a Smoking Tommy Gun and I had a Raspberry Drop to drink. Overall it was such a PLEASANT visit. Will we go again?? YESSSS 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷. @tasteitaliankitchen Thanks for a such a pleasant experience!
As I walked in, the esthetic was really nice and was hoping it matched the food. IT DID. I enjoyed my pasta, the complimentary bread and the cheesecake was really good. I tasted my friend's and decided to order my own. I only did 4 stars because the spinach dip and caesar salad could have been better. It was too cheesy and stringy to the point of not being able to scoop with chips. I will be back. It's worth it. They also have wine to purchase. There's a whole display of wine bottles.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taste in their private room, which was a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, and we felt well cared for by the staff all night. Especially Megan V. who made sure we had the best dinner possible. I will be back!
Friday night at Taste Kitchen in Ridgeland, Mississippi was a real mixed bag! The food was ridiculously good, but the service? Not so much... We had to ask for bread, steak, and pamasean cheese - it was like they forgot we were there! Christa Nordin Grice Absolutely true! Just a few tweaks and they’d be running smoother than a fresh pot of coffee at brunch!
The service and atmosphere were nice. The food was pretty good - could have been hotter though. They are a little bit overpriced. Honestly, it was not as nice as I imagined (expected), but overall it passed with at least a B+. My experience was ok. We do plan to go back.
I visited Taste for lunch with my niece. The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped in the door! We didn't have to wait long for our table (note that we did make a reservation). Our waiter Lauren (like the designer! Lol) was great! He was attentive and on point throughout our meal. The food was excellent, I have no complaints. I ordered the Seafood Linguine and it was full of seafood, the pasta was good and buttery! It felt as if it just melted in my mouth. My niece had the Shrimp scampi and she was very pleased with her meal as well. And I HAVE to mention the Sweet Tea! It's hard to find good, authentic sweet tea, especially for a Sweet Tea lover from the South!! The tea was amazing!! I recommend Taste for lunch and I can't wait to go back for dinner!
The food is good and the waitresses/waiters are good. The hostesses at the front desk need a little more training. They don't really greet customers with enthusiasm like other high end resturants. The resturant also needs to add seating in the waiting area. The wait times can be long even with a reservation. However we still like the resturant.
Had lunch there today. I got chicken Alfredo with angel hair pasta. The chicken was bland, it really needs to be grilled. I had to ask for more Alfredo sauce because it was dry. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, which needed more onions, and the French fries which were awesome just not enough of them. Now the tomato bisque soup is delicious. I really wish they had a daily blue plate lunch special so it would be a little more affordable to eat lunch there.
I ordered the 28$ lobster risotto and was so disappointed. I love Italian so we thought we would give it a try. My husband enjoyed the seafood linguine. The lobster risotto was just pitiful though. Just a bowl of mushy cheesy rice. No flavor or veggies. Just a small lump of lobster and the rice 😞 Can’t say we will go back again.
The food was mediocre and the service was SUPER slow and our server was consistently forgetting our request for napkins, water, bread…it was NOT a good experience. However the decorations were BEAUTIFUL!! If you are looking for a place for beautiful photo opportunities this is your place, just don’t go hungry!
The food is really good! & staff really nice! However hygiene is horrible! Ive seen staff sneezing in hands, employees who were clearly sick and needed to be at home, and handling money and bar fruit without using tools or washings hands in between.
The food was exceptional. The temperature was below freezing so I highly advise you wear long sleeves, sweater, pants, long sleeve shirt and if possible bring a blanket to cover your legs. Today was my first visit yet I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED with the service. We were the first customers to be seated at 11a yet didn't receive our entrees until 12:16pm. We ordered fried ravioli and crab cake as appetizers and those took over 20 minutes to be served. When we placed our orders, we also placed to go orders at the same time and made the distinction between what we wanted to eat at restaurant vs what was to take home. So apparently the waitress Sky didn't make clear to the kitchen staff the difference or at least that's what the manager implied indirectly yet he didn't bother to comp us an appetizer nor adjust the check for our inconvenience. Needless to say it'll be a loooong time before we return, if at all. Also, hard to determine where entrance is. Call-in orders to go is currently unavailable.
I recently visited this new restaurant, and while it’s still surrounded by some construction, I didn’t mind since I knew it was under development. The atmosphere inside was nice enough. For the food, I ordered the mushroom ravioli and a shrimp pasta (can’t remember the name), both of which were enjoyable but not amazing, good enough to eat, but not something I’d rave about. I originally wanted the lobster risotto, but was told they didn’t have lobster… which made me wonder why it’s still on the menu. For dessert, I ordered the tiramisu, which turned out to be more of a cake than a traditional tiramisu, but it was actually pretty tasty. One small downside: we didn’t get the complementary bread until we asked twice, first to a man in a black suit, then to our waiter but we eventually got it. On the bright side, the drinks were great, and the pricing for everything we ordered was very reasonable. Overall, a decent experience for a new spot just needs a little bit of improvement.
I ordered prosecco, stuffed mushrooms, and Pasta Milano. The prosecco was more bitter than usual. The mushrooms came to the table cold. The chicken on the pasta was so hard, it was unchewable. I'm guessing that they cooked frozen chicken. At $18? It should be chewable. They also do the place setting by placing your silverware directly onto the table. No tablecloths or napkins between the two, which I thought was gross and unhygienic. I also was offered a water with no straw. I came during my lunch break so I didnt have time to send that inedible chicken back. Just saying, if you go, order something else. The experience could've been better.
So we finally got to eat at Taste this past Sunday, and I was so excited because I had heard so many great reviews. Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed with our food. We had the stuffed mushrooms for our appetizer, and we couldn't eat them because they were cold and undercooked. We decided to box them up, bring them home, and cook them ourselves later. Next came my side salad, which looked and tasted like it was leftover from Friday, then the seafood pasta arrived, and the flavor was delicious. Still, it was also cold, so I sent it back to be reheated, and it came back with extra sauce, which it needed, but it was still cold.😢My husband had a smoked pork chop served over a bed of fried herbed potatoes, which was nice and hot until you get to the potato, and they were cold! I also noticed that management was constantly taking food back to the kitchen, so we decided to box everything up, take it home, and reheat ourselves! Overall, the food was good once heated, and the service was okay, but I won't be going back for several months. If they make it that long, I will give them another try. Our tab was 123.00 plus tip for two entrees, one app, and two drinks, and the two drinks were the only things worth the price.
This restaurant confused me. It appeared to be marketed as fine dining, but came off as an attempt at fine dining. The server was good, but it was fairly clear no steps of service were used. Lacking introduction, upselling, menu suggestions, cocktail suggestion. No one in the restaurant was using a tray, which I found a bit odd. Not with water service, drinks, appetizers, or entrees- instead, four people brought food out for a party of four. Uniforms though clean, were wrinkly across the board, no name tags were being used, even with the manager. Everyone was friendly, but I feel with some real training their service could become up to par with true fine dining. So for fine dining pricing, I would have expected elevated menu options and service. Also, theres not a seated waiting area, so for older guests that could be challenging; the floors were slick, it was raining and there were not additional floor mats or wet floor signs. Overall a pleasant experience.
The service and atmosphere are wonderful, but my tastebuds were not impressed. Tried the fried gnocchi and seafood linguine. Neither were exciting. My cocktail, the peach Bellini, was great though! It was quite busy, so definitely make a reservation during the weekend evenings.
The atmosphere at Taste Italian Kitchen was very pleasant, and I had heard many positive reviews prior to visiting. Unfortunately, both the service and food fell short of expectations during my visit. We ordered the sampler platter, which was advertised as including three items; however, it arrived with only two. One item was unavailable, but this was not communicated to us beforehand. While my meal had good flavor, it was served at room temperature. Additionally, I had to flag down our server to address the fact that I was the only one who had received food. I finished my meal before my date’s salad was brought out. My date ordered the chicken Parmesan salad, but the chicken was noticeably overcooked and burnt. Although the staff did correct this by preparing a replacement to go, by that point the overall service experience had already been disappointing. That said, the staff did make an effort to address the issues, which I appreciated. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, the inconsistencies in service and food quality impacted what could have been a much better experience.
Beautiful place decorated for the holidays. Very kind waitress. However, I asked for no mushrooms and half the plate was full of mushrooms. When told that I had mushrooms on the plate, nothing was offered. I had already picked them all out and had a pile beside my plate so oh well. Otherwise, it tasted good. That being said, I woke up the next day with vomiting and the runs. Ended up having to go to urgent care because it was so bad. No one else in my house is sick so I suspect food poisoning from the seafood linguine. My husband had chicken Alfredo and has had no issues. Hate that it was like that because the place has potential. I’d go back but need a few months to recover.
This place is great IF you can get in to eat there. I have eaten there once. The food was great, and the server was friendly. I had no trouble calling and making a reservation the first time. Our group of 5 wants to go back to eat again, but I have tried for 3 days to get a reservation, and I cannot get anyone to answer/call me back. The first day I tried, I called 3 times at different times of the day and no one ever answered the phone. The next day, I called and a hostess told me she couldn’t book a party my size(5 people), but a manager would call me back. By 5:30, I hadn’t heard anything, so I called back. Another hostess told me the same thing, a manager would call me back(this time the call would be next day), but I still haven’t received a call. I tried calling just now, no answer. If you can’t accommodate parties of more than 4, that’s fine, but at least give me an answer. I took away 3 stars for just the total lack of response. Also, it’s crazy to me to not allow hostesses to book reservations if there is availability. Anyway, good luck to you if you have more than four people wanting to eat there. Oh and side note- I can book at almost any time for a party of 2,3, or 4 (through online booking) on the night I’m requesting. So the issue isn’t total lack of availability, just response.
Just visited Taste for the 2nd time. I had really hoped it would be better than the 1st, especially after all the hype, but I was disappointed again. My first visit, service was ok. It was very busy and the server was young and seemed very overwhelmed. I had chicken parmigiana. The breading on the chicken had so much salt it burned my mouth. After removing the breading, it was still way too salty to enjoy. My second visit, service seemed like it was going to be much better. However, we only saw our server when she took our order and when she brought our check. We had to stop other servers when we needed refills, to order dessert, and get to go boxes. I tried the seafood linguini. Again, it was salted way too much. It would have been great had it not been so salty. Another thing… if you intend on having conversations at your table, be prepared for the noise. It’s extremely loud in the restaurant.
Bartenders are GREAT and if you are going to just grab lunch at the bar, you can’t beat the sandwich deal! HOWEVER for regular dining it is consistently difficult to get a table here. One time it was because no one answered the phone (we called 3 days in a row), another time waited for 30 minutes for our booked reservation, and tonight I called and asked if there were tables for 3 available, they said yes. We showed up 3 minutes later and they see it’s me with my kids and say it’s a 35 minute wait…. Look, I get it, if you don’t want kids there, then get rid of the kids menu. We ended up going to Amerigo and having a delightful Italian dinner! I never post reviews but I’ve been greatly frustrated with trying to dine here. I give it 2 stars only because of my good lunch experiences eating at the bar. Otherwise it would be lower.
The food is soooooooo BLAND. My goodness, if you’re going to name a restaurant “taste” add SEASONING to your food. This is the second time I’ve been and I don’t have to return. The service was good, restaurant is pretty, but that’s it. Biaggi’s was better 😩😂
I attended my cousin’s bridal brunch here, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Because of the large party, there were some misunderstandings with the reservation and seating. I actually had my own reservation, was seated, and even ordered an appetizer while they tried to sort everything out. However, the staff handled the situation very poorly. The male receptionist working the morning shift on 9/28/25 was especially unprofessional he gave my cousin harsh looks and spoke to her rudely while she was simply trying to figure out the seating. Misunderstandings can happen, but there is a respectful way to address them, and this was not it. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming and racist. I ultimately chose to get up and leave because you simply don’t treat people that way. The only positive was that the manager was polite and professional.
Updated review- I did speak with management it didn’t make a difference . He is the one who stated “It was under a heated light so it should not have been cold” and it was only 6 people at the bar no excuse. Take accountability and do better. You have plenty of one star reviews. Read them and improve. I visit this restaurant for the third time The first time was the grand opening that was the only time the food and customer service was great. I went last night and sat at the bar after a long days work thinking I would be able to unwind, eat some good food. That’s was not the case, we had to flag someone down to get a drink at the bar. I order the chicken Alfredo and my friend ordered the seafood pasta, it took forever for the food to come out people who ordered after us with the same thing we ordered received their food way before us and when it finally came out it was cold we complained they sent it back and I’m assuming put it in the microwave wave because it was still luke warm and the pasta was kind of hard and disgusting. The customer service was also not up to par. I will not be returning
Me and my boyfriend attended taste with high hopes for a new experience , as this was our first time attending. Our server was moderately nice and the seating was quick since we had a reservation . The problem started when we got our food and began to eat, I took about three bites then quickly realized there was a hair in my food, I was appalled and couldn’t eat anymore and showed my partner. He then pointed out that there were many more black curly hairs in the food as well, mind you my hair is dyed ginger and my boyfriend has dreads. When we asked our server for the bill and brought to his attention that there was hair in the food he started blankly and said ok, then proceeded to bring the same food back boxed up to go. After, who I am assuming to be a manager came up to us and offered to take off only the spaghetti from our bill and remake it so we could have it to go . He also offered us dessert for the mishap.Overall I wouldn’t come here again.
I had a very uncomfortable experience at the Ridgeland location. An employee named Conner told me my breasts were “overly exposed” and asked if I had a jacket, even though I was in normal workout attire. There’s no posted dress code, and the Starkville location confirmed none exists. I felt publicly shamed and singled out in a way I don’t believe would have happened to all patrons. Very unprofessional.
I sat at the bar the restaurant was not busy. There were at least 3 bartenders service was slow, but one bartender had an attitude the other one was not attentive and tried to be funny when she noticed I wasn’t receiving my food.. very unprofessional.. my crab cake was burnt, my Red Fish was cold and my salad didn’t have any salad dressing .. when I asked for salad dressing the bartender rolled her eyes.
I heard so many good things on TikTok. So we decided to take my sister for her birthday. Party of nine we arrived 30 minutes early and was sat pretty quickly. Everything was go great until we placed our order for food. We waited for over and hour waiting on food then our waitress tells us they gave us the wrong menu and the order was placed it went in as a dinner order vs a lunch order and they had to it corrected in the system before we got our order. Some of the food was under cooked and some was cold and none of it was fresh. Then we actually had to wait an hour for our check. My sister had to have her order replaced because it was that bad and on top of that the waitress took the food to be boxed to go but never brought back. No manager came to the table until we had to ask him to come. So disappointed
Not really sure what the hype has been about. Made reservations 2 weeks ahead of time and it was a total letdown. Food was average at best. No flavor on the chicken. It looked like boiled chicken with a small blackened area and not very appealing presentation. Wife’s fish was swimming in black pepper. Fried ravioli app was literally what you would buy in the frozen section breaded up and fried. Worth about $40 legitimately but charged $90. Wasted night for the babysitter. Pizza maker was down with no notifications. Tables are really close to one another, chairs are hard as a rock and it’s fairly loud. Have zero reason to return. Service was friendly is the only positive.
Service was not welcoming at all. If they only take reservations, it should be conveyed. Came in from Louisiana visiting and barely greeted. Asked how many in party & clearly see 4. Hostess responds there will be no more available tables for the remaining of the night. It was 5pm and several empty tables. Vibe and atmosphere was totally off. Left and went to 463 & had an amazing dinner with amazing service.
The first time I went to Taste, the service was very good, but the food was bland and had no flavor at all. I was disappointed, but I decided to give them another chance. The second time was horrible. Our server started off great, but once we kept asking for things we needed, his attitude changed and it felt like we were bothering him. That alone made the experience uncomfortable. Then my best friend got dress coded, but there is no dress code listed on the website or posted anywhere in the restaurant like most fine dining establishments. What made it worse was that another young Caucasian woman came in at the same time wearing something very similar and nothing was said to her. That did not sit right with us at all. Lastly, my best friend wanted to take pictures with her cake. The managers or owners were standing there watching us because of their rule that if you cut a cake, it is three dollars per slice per person. We clearly told them we were not cutting the cake. It felt unnecessary and honestly very uncomfortable to be watched like that. Overall, it was an awful experience. We felt unwelcome and singled out. They will not be getting my money again! Also, I had the steak, pasta, and lasagna and it was all awful!
I’ve never eaten here and I was looking forward to it. This past Saturday my family and I were out doing some Christmas shopping and while deciding what to do for lunch, we all agreed upon Taste. It was around 1:30pm when we walked in and while the parking lot looked pretty full, the inside did not with plenty of empty tables. Our family consisted of 4 adults, and two children. They asked us if we had a reservation and being that very few places even take reservations now we did not because we were simply expecting a good lunch. The greeter then went to talk to a manager and the manager informed us that they couldn’t serve us because they were expecting a large group at 2:00pm. Needless to say, this was my first and absolute last time to enter these doors because out of all of the places we could’ve chose to do lunch, we chose Taste only to be treated worse than McDonalds. This was extremely poor management by what has to be an inexperienced manager to turn away a small family with a 1yr old and a 5yr old. Now my wife and daughter had eaten here before for lunch and they stated that it was “okay” so I was looking forward to trying it out. Thankfully, I can mark them off of my list of places to eat now that they’ve proven how much they treasure their clients. I did give the “atmosphere” 5 stars because it was done up very nice for Christmas. It’s just a shame that they have such poor management.
