Sakura & LOUNGE Riverhead Reviews
We love to come here for Hibachi when we come through Riverhead it is 1 of our favorite spots. Always a good time especially with some friends or family.
This place is amazing!!! They make the best kani salad I have ever eaten! Ps try their rock shrimp tempura
We love Sakura. We have been eating here since they opened and it is the most consistent sushi place I have ever been too. Check out the Volcano, Sweetheart and Salmon Love rolls.
We sat at Hibachi. Cook was great. Got a sushi app was very good.
this place is perfect for me. I enjoy the food, the lighting, and the clean bathrooms
Its Was A Great Experience. Took a little to get the food but after all it was great.
How many restaurants can entertain and satisy 22 people? The food was perfect and everyone raved about their selection. They put us in the back area, so we were not disturbing the other customers, or perhaps we were back there, so we were not being distracted. First, they brought waters and then took our orders asking how people wanted their meals prepared. Then soup or salad, fried rice with spinning eggs, a fire show, and lots of friendly chatter. There were a few squirts of saki in people's mouths and some airborn broccoli. Then came the meat , fish or vegetables. Everyone received a generous portion of fried rice and vegetables. With a tip, it averaged $20.00. The servers were very friendly. One person ordered sushi and sat with the rest of us. Only one person had enough on their plate for take home. Everyone asked to schedule another luncheon here, so we will be back. While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, Marge commented about all the high volume takeout service.
I enjoy the food, service, and atmosphere. I have been a regular customer at this establishment for years. Nevertheless, I do have one significant complaint: the absence of a changing table for infants. While some individuals may wonder why parents would bring babies to this venue, the reality is that families with infants often plan to dine here. In such instances, the lack of a changing table presents a substantial challenge. Clearly, changing a baby in a car is not a feasible option, especially during cold weather.
Don't assume this is one of those cheap sushi spots just because it's located in a shopping center next to Big Lots! The menu and end results fall on the line of fine dining with above average culinary skill in the sushi department. On the other hibachi hand, it's very cut and dry, textbook style. Absolutely no creativity was incorporated into the act and "feed the animals" (meaning you), was their only focus. Since the hibachi side takes up half the entire restaraunt, I would've given them 3 stars, but the sushi chefs saved their arise!
Today I went to dinner with my daughters. We arrived around 9:15 pm; the closing time is supposedly 10 pm. As soon as we walked in, the woman who greeted us gave us a dirty look. The food was great, as always, delicious, but the service... we felt like we had to eat very quickly. At 9:30, they brought me the bill so I could pay even though I hadn't finished eating. In the end, I decided not to leave a tip. It's worth mentioning that every time we go there, we leave tips on the card and in cash. This time I didn't because I didn't feel comfortable with the service; the waitress made us feel very uncomfortable. Then the woman came out and started yelling at me, asking why I hadn't given a tip. I replied that I wasn't obligated to do so, and very angrily, she said many things and told me not to come back. I will go back because I like the food, because I paid for the food, and because tips are not mandatory. In my opinion, tips are given as a thank you for good service, which I didn't receive on this occasion, and because I don't care what she thinks.
3 of us dinning in on a saturday night, arrived at 9:10ish and hibachi closed, bar closed and had barely gotten our waters and were rushed into ordering our food when we had barely touched the menu. rushed into getting our food and after just started eating right before 10 the bill was brought to one of our friends “please pay now because our computer is closing now” so incredibly rude. when we asked at what time they closed the answer was 10:30?? rushed to eat and rushed to leave, disgusting place and service.
I went in and they seated me in one of their booths which is completely sunk and broken so it’s uncomfortable. From there I heard the waitress get scolded at from the manager in a very nasty tone. Not sure if the manager is the front desk but just the way she speaks to her workers is horrible and uncomfortable. I ordered some of the rolls, and i remember them being a little more delicate. It seems like the chefs have lost their interest in craftsmanship. The sushi was meh. Usually combinations and flavors are more extravagant but like I said their quality has done down so much. I’ve been coming here for years and watching it fall apart after they invested on the other side makes no sense. They should let their customers go on the fancier side. Why gate keep it when you invest so much money? Dining sushi is an art and experience
I could say something like this: “Definitely worth visiting, especially if you’ve never been to hibachi—great show, very fun experience and decent food!” But! You, dear owners, deserve only one star for including 18% gratitude. Pay salaries to your staff and let guests decide if they like your place or not! 🤬
Got lunch with my fiancé here. We ordered sushi and the teriyaki lunch box. BOTH of our dishes had hair in them. Food looked terrible to begin with. The sushi was literally warm and shriveled up. Very unappetizing. The rice that came with the lunch special was hard like old refrigerated rice. Spend 30 bucks and didn’t eat any of the food. Please don’t waste your hard earned money you will regret it.
We recently dined here and were disappointed with the service. From the start, the staff seemed rushed and inattentive. Midway through our meal, they dropped off the bill while we were still eating, which made us feel unwelcomed and hurried. This really took away from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. The food was good, but the service left much to be desired.
DO NOT GO HERE!! bad place. Food is INEDIBLE. Ordered California roll sushi, chicken fried rice and ginger house salad. The Sushi presentation was very pretty, but the taste was horrid. It was HOT and chewy. tasted sour. I picked it apart to see why the crab was chewy and there it is. It was not crab but Imitation crab. When I went to open the rice it smelled of chemicals and oil. I took a bite and it tasted extremely oily and bitter and not like fried rice AT ALL. Was beef instead of chicken. I ordered a ginger house salad, They charged me for it, and they did not give me it. This is all Absolutely unacceptable and not authentic Japanese Cuisine AT ALL. From reading other peoples reviews others overall have had the same upsetting experience.
