Sottocasa Roma Reviews
Probably my favorite pizza place in Brooklyn? It's absolutely super tasty and the staff is always really attentive and kind. The vibe is a little rustic (in the best way possible), but also feels like a cozy basement (if it had a bar).
This is literally the only place I order from when I want take out. The pizza is phenomenal, the crust tasty on its own, the toppings fresh, unique and delicious!! I love Mari and all the staff are great. I’ve also taken out of towners here and they LOVED it!! Whats not to love?!! ❤️
Gluten free pizza! Omg, I am not gluten free, my gf is… but wow, this is the first pizza that I actually ate my crust, I usually throw it away. This pizza is amazing. Great staff, will come back!
Cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Exceptional service. Fresh ingredients on unique pizza creations. Delicious dinner, will be back every time I can visit Brooklyn.
We found this place after a movie night and the team welcomed us so nicely. The person at the bar, who may be the manager and / or the owner was so nice to us and her staff. The pizza was delicious and the staff was really warm and caring. Loved it !
BEST PIZZA IN NYC. I come here basically every single weekend, either to dine in or to pick up. And i do that not only because of course the pizza is REALLY REALLY good ( for me is the best in NYC, i think i tried most of them), but also because the staff is amazing and very welcoming. Whoever gave one star..go get yourself a vodka macaroni cheese pizza with pineapple.
Best gluten free pizza crust (also egg free)!! This GF crust is one of the best I’ve ever had. It tastes like a legit NY crust with the chew, air bubbles, and texture. (It is not your typical GF cracker thin crust). I’m also egg free which is hard to find in a GF pizza crust, so I was thrilled to find this place. The sauce, toppings, and cheese were proportionate and flavorful. The service was great and super fast. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area!
This is, without a doubt, the best Neapolitan style pizza I've ever had. It was amazing. A spiritual experience. Seriously! I had the special, which included cherry tomatoes, burrata, prosciutto, and pesto. I wish I'd taken a better photo, but we devoured the pizza so quickly. Anyway, best pizza ever. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. The restaurant is really lovely as well, with cozy seating and friendly staff. I can't wait to go back.
No frills spot for some amazing pizza - couldn’t believe we didn’t come here sooner. It’s a cozy and relaxed vibe inside where you can have a variety of different pizza options to choose from. Don’t sleep on the tiramisu! Great quality all for a very fair price. Definitely looking forward to coming back!
Sottocasa is a real neighborhood gem that I need to remember to go to more often. I first came upon it while on a pizza tour of my neighborhood. It was easily the best of the pizza stops we tried out. Recommended: - Spinaci Baby Spinach, Ricotta, Almond, Mushrooms, Raisin, E.V.O.O. Balsamic Dressing (so, so good as a starter!) - Margherita Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Basil - Salsiccia Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Hot Italian Sausage, Basil They also have this fantastic chili oil you can add to your pizza — please do! My friend has gotten the GF pizza as well and really liked it.
This is Neapolitan style pizza, the crust was very good also the cheese and the sauce . I think the pizza was great I wish they will have more options on the menu like more salad and veggies . The tiramisu was outstanding very light and not too heavy very recommended. I wondering how is the pizza in TA will definitely try to order from them .
I recently visited Sottocasa and was blown away by the quality and care they put into their food. The pizza had an amazing dough and a tasty crust that you could tell was made with love. The white sangria and watermelon salad were also delicious and refreshing. The owners were incredibly hospitable, and the staff provided excellent service. Highly recommend!
We had such a beautiful experience here yesterday I felt like I was in Italy! The manager, Davide, was so kind to me and my husband, we felt like friends when we left! We specifically went because I researched and it was the best GF pizza in NY. And it was. I’ve eaten so many GF pizzas and none of them taste like real pizza, this one was incredible!!! Everything was fresh and the olive oil was amazing too. Highly recommend.
One of the best pizza places in NY! One could not go wrong with any pizzas! They are delicious! Home made tiramisu is also a top notch! Adding to that amazing service (thanks to our server Ilse and the gentleman at the bar/near the entrance) and beautiful music! Thanks for making our evening!
Absolutely the best pizza I had in the US so far. I’ve been looking for an authentic italian pizza like this for so long. The wine and desserts were great too. The whole experience was amazing, and the staff is super friendly. Definitely recommend and I will be back as soon as possible!
Great pizza place in Brooklyn downtown! We love Neapolitan pizza style and sottocasa offers amazing ones. I had the popeye one and my husband the cappricciosa pizza. Also the desserts were so good. Highly recommend the tiramisu-I love that it’s more of the dense than on the fluffy side. Delicious!!
Vibes were nice and staff were lovely but the food was kind of shocking. It was edible, but the foccacia was a burnt pizza dough with dried rosemary and the pizza we got had water tomato sauce, poor quality cheese and burnt something (maybe spinach?). At some point it tasted like someone had poured sugar into the sauce. I likely wouldn’t eat here again.
