Gatsby's Landing Roslyn Reviews
We were visiting a friend at St. Francis and our friends made the reservation. We could not be happier… the view is so lovely, on the water, and the food is hearty and delicious. While the temperatures were in the teens, it was wonderful to be warmly welcomed by Jared and the staff. Daniel took great care of us, recognizing our group was reconnecting and gave us time to catch up. We started with the spicy Bloody Marys (kudos to the bartender:)-The salads, brunch offerings and sandwiches were delicious. after complimenting the staff, Jared sent over complimentary dessert: tirmisu-so light and delicious; incredible cheesecake and a fresh fruit platter-unexpected and appreciated. We will be visiting your NYC location for sure!
We came here last night for my mom’s birthday dinner and had an amazing experience from start to finish. We were a group of six, and the service was great. Our waitress, Noah, was the absolute sweetest, so attentive, kind, and made the night feel extra special. Every staff member we interacted with was welcoming and on top of everything. The food was delicious across the board, from the appetizers to the main courses and even dessert. Everything we ordered was a hit, steak, salmon, pasta. The ambiance was lively and a bit loud, but still very enjoyable. I loved how the restaurant is set up, with a cozier, darker section in the back, a brighter well-lit area, and the bar in the front. It felt well balanced and inviting. Highly recommend, we will be back✨
From the moment you walk into Gatsby’s Landing, you feel like you’ve stepped into something special. The atmosphere is the perfect blend of modern elegance and warm hospitality stylish without trying too hard, and inviting in a way that makes you instantly settle in. My family decided to celebrate my father’s birthday dinner here and the service is absolutely top-notch. Every staff member is attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. The manager Darren is outstanding and his hospitality skills are unmatched! The staff strikes that ideal balance of being present without hovering, and they make the entire experience feel effortless. The food? Outstanding. Every dish is carefully prepared, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. Whether it’s their perfectly cooked steaks, fresh seafood, or creative appetizers, you can tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they do. Even the sides and cocktails stand out everything feels thoughtfully crafted. It’s the kind of place that works for any occasion: a date night, a family celebration, or just treating yourself to a great meal. The ambiance, the service, and the quality of the food all come together to create a truly memorable dining experience. Gatsby’s Landing delivers every time. Highly recommend if you’re anywhere near Roslyn this is a spot worth returning to again and again. Easily 10/10
Every staff member, including the hostess — was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I was even able to bring my large breed dog and sit outside, which made the experience even more special. It’s rare to find a place on Long Island that’s so accommodating (with dogs), and I truly had an amazing time. I’m really grateful for the wonderful service, the great atmosphere, and the fact that they made both me and my dog feel so comfortable. Highly recommend!
It was a fantastic experience to have lunch here with my friend's family the day before Father's Day. This restaurant's setting is very clean and quiet, especially for conversation. All the dishes were beautifully decorated, and my friend and his wife appreciated the flavor of every menu item. Of course, nothing is complete without wine, and the wine here tastes great, too. Red wine was a golden pairing with the dishes here. The service at this restaurant was also exceptionally good. The waitress was very friendly and patient, and she always had a smile on her face when communicating with us. I asked her to divide a dish into three portions, only to have all three portions beautifully re-decorated when she brought three plates again! It was really a surprise since I had never seen such a service for similar requests in other places. I felt that all the people in this restaurant were very passionate about their work, and the owner must be very friendly to the fellows as well. A restaurant that has been running for a long time must have its reasons.
We visited this restaurant to celebrate my son’s birthday. All the food was high quality and absolutely delicious. Our server was very kind and attentive, which we really appreciated. At the end of the meal, they even brought out a small sparkling birthday candle to help us celebrate. It was a joyful and memorable experience.
This is one of Roslyn's longstanding restaurants and with good reason. The art deco decor provides unique surroundings, with a fantastic view of the Gerry Park duck pond from the back room and patio. Everything we ate was extremely fresh, top quality, and delicious. Plus, the service was very friendly. Five stars all around.
Food price / quality (value) 10. The atmosphere is contemporary tavern. I enjoyed their prix fix lunch special for $38 which included an appetizer, choice of three. I had flatbread pizza, excellent - crispy and chewy. One can also get soup or salad. For my entree I had the Chicken Francese with grilled mixed vegetables that was two filets, prepared and presented very nicely. For dessert I chose the Tiramisu. They serve a homemade bread / roll that was unique, wonderfully flaky, crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside, and came with a housemade soft honey-butter that was fantastic! They have a limited choice of bottled beers, but no draught beers. They offer a Happy Hour Monday through Friday where cocktails are half priced. They're also open 365 days a year! They have a small, cute outdoor seating area. My bartender Briana was attentive, and their Chef Victor came out to meet me and chat. The owners also have another restaurant by the same name in Times Square, I'm told. The food is very good, the prices are reasonable, and the service was very good. DO NOT FORGET TO PAY FOR PARKING AT THE KIOSK - COST ME A $40 TICKET AS IT WASN'T OBVIOUS.
Went for dinner with friends and was greeted and quickly taken to our seats. The view was spectacular and wished it was warm enough to sit outside. I ordered the cucumber and jalapeño margaritas, which was very good. For dinner, I had the braised ribs and potatoes, which were delicious. For dessert, the lava cake with whipped cream, which was very rich but good. I started eating it before I took the picture. I will definitely go back.
When the weather is nice, my wife and I enjoy sitting outside with a beautiful lake view. There's a sign that said, "Don't feed the ducks." Guess what, I did anyways. The brunch menu is what we come for and enjoy. But the dinner menu looks great but lacked a bit. Overall, I will be back to feed the ducks while enjoying our Brunch.
Had a great experience here, came here to celebrate my bestfriends birthday. Dennywas our waiter and he took really good care of us! We sat outside and enjoyed the view, it was nice and quiet. Even got to see a swan and turtle swimming by. The food was great! Our favorites were the fresh bread and brussel spouts! We both got Macaroni Gatsbys Vodka sauce, one with chicken other with shrimp. The pasta is made fresh in the restaurant it was good. We also got a side of brussel sprouts, they were so good we thought they even tasted like fries a bit lol. Then got the molten chocolate cake for desert, If you're a chocolate lover you'd like it lots and lots of chocolate. We had a great time here!
I have seriously nothing but positive things to say about my time here. The waiter Kevin was extremely punctual and friendly. The bread is brought out warm and piece by piece. The calamari appetizer is perfectly crispy. The butternut squash soup was sweet and nicely seasoned. Their short rib was just fantastic and truly fall off the bone! I substituted fries with mashed potatoes which I wouldn’t do next time. The s’more dessert is sweet and unique. It’s clear all the staff here know what they’re doing. I would say truthfully one of my best restaurant experiences ever. 10/10!
Yesterday afternoon, 5 October 2023 I had the pleasure of joining my sister for a belated birthday lunch at Gatsby's Landing in Roslyn New York. We were fortunate to be able to be seated outside to have a beautiful view of the pond there.,that was a hugh plus. For an appetizer we chose Crab Cake , it was so moist and flavorful, really delicious. For the entree my sister chose Ravioli with Butternut Squash in a Brown Butter sauce. I chose Braised Beef Short Rib ,whipped Mashed Potatoes with Truffle Chimichurri. The beef short rib was tender and delicious. For dessert my sister ordered a Creme Brulee. All in all, it was a delicious meal. What made this meal a highlight was the server that we had, Tanya. Tanya was so friendly, polite, beautiful personality, and told us the special meals for that day. She went out of her way to accommodate us, which really helped. I enjoyed the ambience there, as well as the staff there. I most definitely will be returning there for another meal, as my sister and I had a wonderful time there, and look forward to having more wonderful memories there.
The Duck entree only has two slices of duck. The $40 price tag is steep for what I got. The Parker rolls were hot and scrumptious, especially when smeared with butter. The cocktail menu is extensive and creative. I had a Blood Mary, which had little flavor, so I exchanged it for a Mimosa, which was good. I will definitely return to try other things on the menu. This restaurant is perfect to impress a date or a friends and family.
Our experience was a good one! We were seated quickly, the staff as very nice, the food was good (especially the fries), and the price was very reasonable. We both ordered the (bacon) chicken salad sandwich w/fries…no complaints other than a little Mayo or something preferred to gel the meat better. It was still good enough for me to finish it all and order again if I’m the area. The back room with the view of the water and ducks was nice also.
To celebrate Valentine's Day, my wife and I enjoyed a $38 three-course prix fixe lunch. Although the public parking lot was full, we managed to find a spot for $2 for two hours. The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.
I recently enjoyed dinner at Gatsby, located in the heart of Roslyn, and it was a lovely experience. The outdoor seating offers a relaxing view of the pond, creating a calming atmosphere that's perfect for an evening meal. The service was good, and the ambiance was inviting, setting the stage for a nice night out. For appetizers, we started with the Crispy Tuna Rice, which was solid, and the Baked Clams Oreganata, which were quite good as well. For our main dishes, I chose the Shrimp Corn Ravioli, which was a special of the day. It was tasty, though I wasn’t quite sold on the texture. My wife opted for the Pan-Seared Red Snapper, but it turned out a little dry for her liking. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would definitely consider going back to try more of their menu!
Amazing! This is my third time at this restaurant and it was amazing! I came here with a party of 8 for restaurant week and to celebrate a birthday. I personally enjoyed my meal, but some of the party members did not enjoy it as much. Being that it was restaurant week, you had a to choose from a specific menu, with 3 options for each course to select from. I had the sea bass and it was delicious. The only thing I personally was a tad bit disappointed on was the desert. Let me explain. It took a bit longer than usual and the waiter told us that the cheesecake just came out the oven and it will be soft. She did ask if I still wanted it which was great. I agreed and it’s only soft right? Well it came and it was melting, and did not deliver. Besides that, our waiter and the manager of the restaurant (Tom) were extremely attentive and delivered a great meal and service. Though some members did not enjoy the experience, I certainly did and will return!
Overall, it is a gorgeous space and getting a reservation was not an issue. Menu appeals to everyone. I am upset because we indicated a birthday when making the reservation, and then I personally told the host, who acknowledged my mom's bday. Tons of tables were receiving the huge sparklers for bdays. We ordered a lava cake, and NO SPARKLER! Then, no apology from that host, which is just rude. On the way out I said, "you failed me with the candle" and he just sat there and smiled over his free meal, and said, "yeah". People just don't care! Our waiter was lovely, food was just ok. I would just expect more from a small place with 2 hosts. GL, get a better host, especially for Sat night!
