La Cocina Round Rock Reviews
The Red Mole is absolutely out of this world. Everything I have had here is great, but I always end up with that epic Macho burrito.
Wonderful atmosphere and good was great! Surprisingly few people considering the food is so good and prices are reasonable. From the outside looks like a small hole in the wall but it’s cost inside. Bathrooms were slightly oily and slippery but everything else made up for it … definitely a must go again place
In from out of town working, stop by here for dinner... I may have eaten the best enchiladas in my life! And I use to live in Mexico! Enough said
We just had lunch here and it was great! The food was delicious, place was clean and the waitress was very attentive. Will definitely stop by next time we are in Round Rock again.
This smaller restaurant is one you have to try. I loved the food and the service was wonderful. I'll be back!
Love this place. Everything is just right for the price. I love that it’s a mix of Italian and Tex mex. The happy hour is also pretty solid.
I’m so glad this place is in round rock, and yet I’m not! It’s a half Italian half Mexican restaurant! With easily the best quality for the longest period of time I’ve ever seen! I’ve been going here for at least twenty years. Every dish is absolutely delicious and always the same every time! The lasagna was the first thing I ever tried my brother-in-law and I stopped in and had it for lunch. We immediately brought our wives back that night for dinner and we probably had lasagna at least six or eight times that first month! My wife now is addicted to the Marias enchiladas which are incredibly delicious. Probably the best Molay sauce in Mexico I mean Texas or maybe both! I’m actually quite surprised that this place is not packed every minute of their open hours.! I’m just so glad they’ve been able to stay in business as long as they have because their food quality is really remarkable compared to every restaurant in the area. All of their pasta dishes all of their Italian food is outstanding. The Mexican food is delicious but as with everybody and their individual taste, I’m sure there will be the naysayers . All I can say is they’re wrong! If you have not tried this restaurant, I would give it at least one shot! And if you get the lasagna and don’t like it, I’ll buy! Oh yeah, the Mexican martini Is Mui Bueno?
Unique, authentic, cozy, real! Great food and drinks. Hard to choose what to order - all so good. The shrimp chipotle appetizer, or entree, is to die for. Best Caesar or spinach salads ever! Chili relleno is authentic and delicious! What a rare and wonderful cross culture menu. One of our absolute favorite restaurants in the entire Austin area!
Everything we have eaten at this place is delicious and excellent service. The place is spacious, comfortable and beautiful. You can enjoy with family, friends or alone. I share some photos and videos of some of their delicacies. For us everything was excellent. We would gladly return and totally recommend!!!
Awesome gem of a restaurant. I love that they have a skilled chef in both Italian food and Mexican food. My eggplant Parm was so good and full of flavor. It was piping hot, but so worth burning my tongue on! The eggplant wasn't really fried so much as baked and drizzled with a very nice helping of a delicious tomato garlic sauce. The noodles were also quite tasty. The restaurant staff were nice and sweet!
The ultimate hole in the wall…this place is tucked away in the corner of a small trip center in old Round Rock. Very nice inside, great bar with excellent Bloody Mary’s. Mole is amazing. Al Pastor quesadilla was superb and their enchiladas verdes are the best you’ll find anywhere. This is some of the best quality Mexican Food you’ll ever eat…no joke.
I ordered the tacos and they were ok. The meat was wetter than I was expecting instead of being more like ground beef. The margarita was great!
My husband asked me to find a local Mexican restaurant to try. After taking way too long, he said forget it, just find us some Italian. Well this popped up and I’m glad it did. It was easy to find with the gps, we don’t live here so aren’t really familiar with the area. It was quiet at lunch and got sat right away. Service was great, as was the chips and salsa. My husband ordered Mexican and I ordered Lasagna. Mine was great and I would have it again. My husband ate his but said it’s different than the Southern California Mexican food we are used to. This isn’t a Mexican Italian fusion restaurant- there isn’t Chile Verde Lasagna or anything like that. Just Mexican dishes and Italian dishes. Good prices on the lunch specials. Come check them out.
Nice little cozy Mexican and Italian fusion place we recently discovered in the Round rock area . Ambiance was very pretty with a Mexican theme going on . The food had two sections - one Italian based and the other was Mexican based . We ordered one on each side - pollo ala chipotle and pollo con pasta (marinara based). The Mexican chipotle chicken was exceptional with tender cooked chicken and salsa was amazing and one of the most authentic ones we have tasted in Texas! The pollo con pasta was a bit disappointing because the chicken had a raw smell and pasta okay . Would not order that dish again and can try the white sauce based dishes next time . They had both wine and cocktails which worked for our pairing of dishes . One of the strongest margaritas we have tasted ! Our waitress was acting a bit non responsive initially but later was communicative . Would return here for the Mexican dishes, ambiance and cocktails !
We went there on March 8, 2025. It’s been over fifteen years since I last went here. I mentioned to my girlfriend that I thought the food was good. Upon walking in we were met by a server that asked how many and follow her to our table. A male server shows up and immediately asked us what we were drinking. I asked him how his day was and he said fine and walked away but no greetings or welcome. I ordered the Lasagna, my girlfriend ordered the three tacos. Every item on our plates seemed to have a cream base consistency. The rice and refried beans had absolutely no flavor. The calamari was however tasty. We were first served chips and salsa. Upon tasting it we thought the salsa had a peculiar after taste. As it turned out we were sick for two days after. I can only surmise that something in the salsa was rancid. Every staff member was not friendly nor welcoming. After we ate, I elected to have a desert but our server never asked and quickly said, I’ll bring your check. We both noticed that no one smiled, strictly business. We will never return. This place needs a customer service tune up and wake up call.
The two ladies there were just flat out awful. Raising their voice with my grandmother and talking to her like she were a toddler, snatching cups out of my hand, having an overall disrespectful demeanor and look from the moment we entered. You're in a service job- If you have a terrible mood then maybe don't work service. Food was great though.
