Sunshine Coffee Roasters Rye Reviews
You gotta come in and try it out! The coffee is BIG DELISH! 😋 ✨️ Mariela, the owner is absolutely fantastic and her team provides the space with a real homey-rustic vibe. Different languages, laughter and energy fills this gorgeous space and man that coffee has one of thee best roasts I've ever had! I'm a customer from the BX and I'll always be stopping by as long as theirs a cold brew and sweet treats are here 😀
What a great place to have coffee. I consider myself a coffee snob and try to find coffee roasters shops because I know that their beans are great. The lovely Argentinian lady that took our order was so sweet and made our experience fabulous. I ordered the pourover which it is only available for table order normally and I wanted it to go and she kindly offered to do it. Finally I stayed and savoured it there. Thanks again, gracias Thanks :)
My wife and I each got the purchase grilled cheese and absolutely loved it. The cold brew was incredible and great size for a “medium.” Pleasant, quick service. We will be back!
Amazing morning at Sunshine Coffee Roasters! We spend the morning with my son in a super quiet and calm atmosphere. Try the Mocha!!!!! Great coffee, definitely coming back!
Great location very clean modern look. Down fall was that food that’s on the menu doesn’t get served until 12pm. They have premade food that can be heated on display.
We are from New Jersey and we googled sunshine l. We came to eat and have coffee but became so comfy we did our work here. Super relaxed and chill. The staff rocks
We ordered coffee and croissants and it was good and atmosphere was beautiful. We needed this in Rye!

Love this spot! Everyone is super helpful. Whatever I had was tasty, and the matcha latte is definitely the best here in the neighborhood.
Sunshine Roasters isn't just my favorite coffee shop—it’s been a part of my life for years. I started going to their Larchmont location back in high school, and when they opened the new spot over a year ago, I was there from day one. They've been nothing but wonderful ever since. The service here is truly something special. The team treats you like family—always warm, genuine, and happy to see you. It’s the kind of place where they remember your name and your order. Now, as someone who’s a bit of a coffee snob, I can say without hesitation: the coffee here is some of the best I’ve ever had. Every cup is smooth, flavorful, and perfectly made. And If it isn't your cup of "tea", they are extremely accommodating. It’s obvious they care deeply about quality and consistency. And don’t get me started on the pastries. Always fresh, always delicious, and the perfect companion to whatever you’re sipping. I highly recommend the cherry danish! Sunshine Roasters has become a daily ritual for me—not just because of the coffee, but because of the heart and soul they put into everything they do. Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, you’ll feel right at home. Can’t recommend it enough. I also can't believe this is the first time I'm leaving them a review!
I recently visited this coffee shop for an iced espresso and a croissant. The espresso was well-made, and the croissant had a nice flaky texture. The open atmosphere was quite inviting, and the staff were friendly and approachable, which made for a pleasant experience. The only downside was the limited parking. There is a huge parking lot behind the coffee shop but it’s pretty full during peak hours which made it a bit tricky to find a spot. Despite that, it’s worth checking out if you're in the area and want a decent coffee and pastry.
If you’re a true coffee lover…You will love this coffee. John is a master roaster! Since this location opened, I have become so spoiled. Can’t find a better coffee experience anywhere!
Great having a local coffee shop that takes the coffee seriously. The staff will recognize you if you come in once or twice a week and are friendly and courteous without being intrusive. Appreciate their service and the atmosphere they create in the shop.

Excellent, house-roasted coffee, awesome pastry selection, super nice owner and employees, all in a welcoming and thoughtfully-designed space. Well worth the drive from Brooklyn ✌🏼.

LOVE this new place.. FINALLY a real place to meet a friend for lunch/coffee thats not Starbucks.. Rye was definetely lacking a neighborhood vibe place like this.. great friendly service and excellent sandwiches and coffee Keep up the great work. Just wish the parking was better or have the ability to order and pickup

It’s nice. Cute coffee shop in a cute area. Prices are a little higher than normal, but it’s Rye so what do you expect? Those property taxes aren’t going to pay themselves. They have a vast selection of breakfast options. Their coffee selections are really vast as well with multiple sizing options. The decor is crisp and beautiful. Modern. Customer service was friendly and with good explanations. If you’re in the area, it’s a good option.
I stopped by Sunshine Coffee Roasters recently and had mixed feelings. I really wanted to love this place because the interior is charming and the vibe is exactly what I look for in a local cafe. The staff is genuinely super friendly. They greeted everyone who walked in with a warm smile, and it really sets a welcoming tone right away. It is clearly a popular community spot where the baristas seem to know the regulars by name, which is always nice to see. However, as for the coffee itself, I found it to be very average. I ordered a latte to try their espresso, and while it wasn't bad, it was just okay. It lacked the depth and distinct flavor notes I usually expect from a place with 'Roasters' in the name.

Usually love this place, but got a clumpy and gritty iced matcha with the matcha powder not even dissolved for $9.75 - I had to break up bc it was mixed in the bottom of the cup (not separately) so I would sip on straight matcha powder. would stick to coffees here only.
Ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese to go .. I thought it was butter when opened. Gave it a try, but ‘hand rolled bagels’ will be my go-to for bagels. Other menu items people were being served (eg avocado toast did look good)

Breakfast taco portion is a joke for $7 and change. I took 2 bites and it was done. Even bacon egg and cheese sandwiches in the city costs less. Taste was decent but for the price I feel like I got violated.

Can you give 0 stars? In an area overflowing with excellent coffee shops to choose from, Sunshine Roasters in Rye stands out as the worst choice among them. Even ignoring the inattentive and somewhat rude staff, the cramped atmosphere, or lack of menu options; above all else: the coffee was just down right bad. The worst in this area. Always excited to see new coffee places come into the area, but sunshine roasters is simply a giant swing and a miss.
The guy who did my coffee kept the lid half open and of course i didn’t know that until I had my first sip. Coffee was all over me and it burned me. Went back to get some tissues and the guy didn’t even care. The place is nice but their service is the worst.
Space seemed nice to do work but unfortunately music was blasting so had to leave. Iced Coffee was horrible. Tasted like (what I assume) car oil would taste like. Tried to give this local spot a shot….will not be back :(
