Cafe Bernardo is praised for its excellent food, elegant atmosphere, and top-notch service, especially the salmon BLT, Thai noodle salad, and eggs benedict. Some find it a bit pricey and portions small for the price, but the quality and ambiance generally make up for it.

Cafe Bernardino Sacramento Reviews
I got a latte upon arriving and it was so good. I order the achiote chicken sandwich, and it always hits the spot. They're also farm to fork and you can tell by the quality of the food. Someone also checked all the ingredients for the pastries and found one without egg for my mother. Highly recommend!
This place is connected to the hotel next door. The bar next door has tables and seating where you can order from Bernardo and have full table service there's also outdoor seating on this side where you can bring your dog. The service on the hotel side is impeccable and the food comes fast. If you don't mind leaving a tip then eat at the bar / Lobby next door it's beautiful quiet and there's music in a beautiful bar where you can order whatever you want. Several beers on tap drinks to order and a couple of ciders in the can. Bernardo's itself is a order seat yourself kind of deal. As you walk in you order from their menu and then you go sit down eating at the hotel Bar Next Door which is connected by a short hallway, is a much better dining experience IMHO
I came to Cafe Bernardo on a whim for breakfast on my way to work, and am so glad I did. I think it’s technically attached to the hotel, so you can charge your order to your room if you’re staying there, but it’s not a “hotel restaurant” by any means. The vibe is sort of corporate upscale, but that really just means high ceilings and attentive cleanliness. The staff working are all incredibly friendly, and I was met with smiles and warm faces and helpful information. I got the breakfast burrito and it was so delicious that I think I’ll go back again tomorrow. Highly recommend giving this spot a try.
Had brought my mom onto the ER at Sutter, I left while she had some testing done. I Googled restaurants near by and Cafe Bernardo came up. I walked there, short walk straight forward. I didn't know it was connected to a hotel. Was sat down quickly and as I was hungry, I saw pizza, my go food. Asked how big it was and ordered. Came out pretty quick, I think there was a couple of other people also eating. It was a good, thin crusted pizza. I didn't look at any other items on the menu but I would go back.
Some friends and I went out to dinner here tonight and it was wonderful. The food was excellent. We'd never had such delicious vegetables. The salmon and chicken too were amazingly good. Our service was wonderful too. I think we will be going back here again.
Recommended by the nursing staff at Sutter Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic. My son and I ate here and I had the BEST Bleu cheese burger I've ever had. Cooked medium, it was pink in the middle and juicy and so flavorful. He had the Angus burger. Fries were ok, not the best but good with salt and pepper. Seating was great, very quick service. My only complaint is the drink prices are outrageous. $4.50 for a can of Coke. I would absolutely come back here for the food but I would not order a beverage.
My favorite brunch/breakfast spot— best eggs benedict! Not on soggy muffins but nicely toasted rosemary bread. The hollandaise has perfect tangy taste and great potatoes too. You order at counter & they bring food to you. Good for a larger group— especially if not all arriving at once.
Can always find a decent meal here. Counter order then find a seat. People come for huge sandwiches. I tried the Carne Asada breakfast burrito but a little skeptical with the ingredients. It was a yummy combo of meat, potatoes, poblanos, cabbage, black beans and a tomatillos sauce! I was only going to eat half and take the other with me.... well I kept eating and eating ...... and Im a small person!
A little pricey, but they are close to both Sutter Hospital and Buehler Specialized Medical Offices. I split a hamburger with a friend and got 2 orders of fries (both the burger and the fries were wonderful) and spent over $30. No beverages.
Clean and modern café with prompt service. The space includes a pleasant outdoor seating area, wide-open windows, and convenient access to the adjoining hotel. For breakfast, we ordered Belgian waffles topped with banana slices and avocado toast with eggs. The waffles were overly firm - likely due to the use of cornmeal, which isn’t the most suitable flour choice for this dish😐 In contrast, the avocado toast, served on sourdough bread, was fresh, flavorful, and a satisfying savory option. Definitely the highlight of the meal.
Third location for the chain I have visited and quality every time. Good amount of seating inside with sliding window walls to share the great weather. Outside seating is lovely benches with pillows for an added perk to the experience. Had the Turkey burger which like before was juicy, tasty. The menu is not the largest, but it does have some quality choices for sandwiches and salads. Oh, and the pastry display is hard to resist. Iced tea was good. The carrot cake’s last piece when home with me. It lived a good, if short, life that day.
Bernardo Benedict was decent. The rosemary bread had hints of rosemary, the eggs were over pouched so not much runny, the ham tasted fresh and top quality and potatos were under cooked. Only a couple of gluten free options, which my partner wasn’t aware that chilaquiles were like nachos so he was disappointed. He said coffee was good, and the whole restaurant had an inviting space.
Vibes are interesting, almost like an airport lounge.... staff is super friendly though. Bahn mi was decent, for over 15$ with no side and maybe 6" of baguette, might as well go to an actual Vietnamese spot. I feel like if this was the only spot in the area it's decent, but not my first choice. Like I wouldn't travel to come here.
I got the breakfast burrito and my friend got the huevoes rancheros. For $23 per person for an entree and a drink it was not a repeat. The huevoes rancheros was too wet per my friend. He said he doesn't think they drained the beans. The portion size for both was small for the price being charged. The menu felt limited. I would probably not recommend this location.
Great ginger cookies. Service is quick and friendly. I haven't eaten a full meal here, just got coffee twice. My main gripe: There isn't a short espresso drink option on the menu (cortado, macchiato, etc.). If you don't like milky drinks you get a cappuccino no matter what you order. I tried to be specific, asking for "the Italian style macchiato, the really tiny one with barely any milk added at all" and was assured I would get what I wanted, but alas. Also note: photos more than 2 years old showing a cool lounge area and a tiled bar are outdated. Now the decor is kind of suburban farmhouse hotel dining room--it's definitely a 'ladies who lunch' restaurant more than a café.
