Cafe Colonial Sacramento Reviews
The staff there is super friendly. I saw a live band. This is the sound was great!! I will definitely be back.
Fun, divey performance venue. Where great indie bands play their hearts out and cocktails pour painfully slow.
First time here for Ragweed show, place was rad!!
Came to hear a local band play on a Friday night. I was pleasantly surprised with the sleek, matte black remodel of the interior. It's beautiful and intimate without being embarrassed by the character inherent in the age of the property. The bar and stage are separated by a pair of glass doors which muffle the sound to the bar area if you need to take a breather from the full force of the music (although you shouldn't expect perfect quiet; they are just glass after all.) Having come for music and dancing, I really appreciated the black and inlaid tile floor. It was smooth enough for dancing without being too slick for novices. Sound dampening panels were hung on the ceiling to give the small space a little better acoustics.
Had an awesome time! The music was slamming and they had great affordable merch.
Had an incredible sandwich at this place just before a show. Cool venue, great food, good beers and friendly staff. Tons of vegan options.
Great dingy punk bar! Just like it’s supposed to be.
A true staple of underground music.

Best local venue in Sac. Sound is great and the bar is separate from the stage area so you can actually have a conversation!
Great music venue for small shows
It was my first time at Cafe Colonial on my birthday last month and I went to hear music. The bands was the Jessica Malone Trio and I'm friendly with all of the members. It was a nice welcoming environment, the sound was good, the music was good and I had a lot of fun.
very friendly staff, great atmosphere, great soundsystem
Very nice place and great atmosphere. Came with my daughter and her friend to listen to some bands. They are both in their teens, and as a father, feel comfortable for them to be here. Good people, good music. Great night. Thank you everyone at the Colonial and the awesome bands that played. Hellfire was tight!!!!!

Very small, but place rocks! People there are very nice. Saw Deiphage, you will want to go to their next show there!
Great little venue to grab a drink and enjoy some music. Fun art on the walls from local artists and classic console video games to play on while lounging around.

Great place to check out certain genres of music. It's mostly considered a punk venue but it does diverge from time to time. The Cafe serves great fries and other bar food. They have wine "cocktails" that are in the 20-22% range but they do not serve hard alcohol here. They have beer on tap and in the bottle as well as cider. The room where music is played is intimate and can be a bit loud, so bring ear plugs. If you're into supporting local businesses and local bands, patronize this establishment. Enjoy and keep your head on a swivel.
Great place to watch some bands. Went to a punk and thrash show and enjoyed the bar area prior to going in. Room is a little small but it makes for a more intimate setting. Staff is great.
Better, nicer, cooler theater than I thought. Saw Empire strips back. Great sexy star wars burlesque show. Great fun. Will come back to this theater for other events.

Cool local venue, lots of variety of entertainers. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Arrive early to park in the free parking lot, otherwise you have to find street parking, doable but not advised. One downfall is lack of central air conditioning, it gets a bit ripe and stuffy, however they do their best to mitigate it with an abundance of fans. Great local venue.
The atmosphere is nice. The staff is hit and miss. The food (i can only comment on the vegetarian options) is also hit and miss. Today was a major miss/fail. Had a veggie burger: it was burnt to the point of being considered a weapon, and disgusting. I would classify this as the 2nd to worst veggie burger that I've ever tried. For context, I've been vegetarian for over 20 years!!! So, obviously, I've had a lot of them. I give it 2 stars (rather than 1) because the onion rings are delicious.
