Steamers Sacramento Reviews
Such a neat place. Recommended by a local merchant “Visions of Eden”. She was right! Great place great food and customer service! Ricardo, what a lovely young man, welcoming smile and Polite. He went above and beyond with His customer service! 110%. Kat Fox.
I’ve been here plenty of times, but I figured it was finally time to spill the (coffee) beans in a review. This cozy little coffee/breakfast/lunch gem in West Sacramento never disappoints. The coffee is top-notch, the food hits the spot, and the atmosphere has that perfect mix of charm and chill—especially if you grab a seat on the old wooden sidewalk patio. If you find yourself in West Sac, do yourself a favor and stop in. Your taste buds will thank you.
Absolutely incredible! Atmosphere is great. Breakfast was better than the Sheraton Grand Hotel. The customer service is extraordinary! This is by far the best restaurant in Sacramento. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone i meet on my flights to Sacramento. Keep up the good work.
If you’re looking for some quality home made food from a family run business then this is your place. I had the spinach and mushroom omelet which was perfectly cooked and filled me right up. I would be in a food coma if it was for the best cappuccino in town I had to accompany my breakfast. Bravo boys!!! Will be back again soon!
Steamers is a nice place to go for breakfast or lunch. They close at 3:00 pm, and serve breakfast till 11:00 am. The food is made with quality ingredients and served hot and fresh. The menu is filled with popular items, and the prices are reasonable. You order your food at the counter, and they deliver it to your table in about 5-10 minutes. The service is fast and friendly, and the quality is excellent. They're happy to customize your meal within reason if you have specific requests. The location is right in the heart of Old Sacramento with plenty of unique shops and tourist attractions. This place beats my hotel breakfast for quality, selection, and price. It's worth the short walk to eat here. I wish they were open for dinner. If you're in the area, check them out, and you won't be disappointed.
I honestly have no complaints. We came in on a busy Saturday afternoon, but there were surprisingly plenty of tables available. It's a small and quaint restaurant. They have seating inside and outside. They only have one restroom available, and you'll need staff to unlock it before using it. We walked up to the register, read through the menu board above for a minute or two, and then placed our order. The woman at the register was very friendly and patient. We received our food quickly. Everything tasted light, fresh, and great. The staff were really attentive and cleared our plates quickly. If you're sitting outside, you have a nice view of the train going by. If you're lucky, you can find parking right in front of the restaurant. If not, there's a parking garage within walking distance.
This has been a relaxing place to stop to either get a quick Hot Coco, Coffee, or a quick bite. We've been here twice once with a larger group to warm up, have a few beverages, and use the bathroom. Today I went with my kids for breakfast as they're one of the few places open at 9. We shared a nice breakfast and went on our way. It was delicious and the service was once again great. Glad we wandered in here on a cold day.
Visited Sept. 18 and 19..see both receipts. This place was walking distance to the hotel I was staying at. Indoor and outdoor seating. The first day I had a mocha freeze..it hit the spot after shopping! Enjoyed it in their outside seating area. The next day I got up and went for a long walk to explore more of the area and came back to Steamers to pick up breakfast to go. I ordered this HUGE croissant filled with ham and eggs and cheese - it was plenty to split between 2 people and so yummy! I also got a latte to go. They serve breakfast and lunch with beer and wine available. There is also pastry options available. It's nothing fancy inside..outdoor seating is more relaxing ! Great location and good food!
During a morning walk in old Sac I found this really cool breakfast place. It's got a cozy vibe, with a full breakfast menu and a ton of baked goods. I had the spinach and mushroom omelet with oven-baked bacon and their artisan coffee. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The place is clean and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend Steamers and I can't wait to go back!
Came here after some local cops recommended it. Was trying to replace a coffee I bought somewhere else. This place was friendly and fast. There is also breakfast and such a cool area next to the river. Good vibes, friendly service. I’d say give it a try.
Food is pretty good, atmosphere is good with outside seating. It's pricey, not the easy on the pocket they claim to be. Nevertheless, it's the best option at Old Town. I would've tipped 20% but tipped less because the owner charged 4% for credit card "convenience" fee.
Food was decent but not overly impressive. Nice plating and flavor but not super substantial. Burger all around flavor was good, but pattie seemed like a bubba burger that was dressed up with an interesting mayo. Inside + Outside seating is nice and cool atmosphere but you order at the counter and there are no servers attending tables.
Service was fast and friendly. It was a little loud but we could still hold a conversation. Compared to other places, the prices were a bit steep. $50 for 2 hamburgers, 1 large for and a float. The bottled water was the cheapest thing on the menu and that is usually the most expensive. LOL!
We ordered the two timer and the whole deal with an additional biscuit which costs $2.50 more. It took a long time for the food to be served AND it was not hot when it got to us! Everything was barely lukewarm. Maybe it sat for a while? They do give you a good amount of food and the bacon and sausages were very good. The potatoes were fine but again lukewarm. The pancakes and the biscuit was not good and I would skip them for sure.
Price is outrageous. I ordered a breakfast sandwich by phone for pick-up. I must have looked at an old menu price ($6.75). Arrived and was shocked to be charged over $15 for an egg sandwich on an English muffin with potatoes. Nothing wrong w the sandwich, I just didn't know it came with a side or the high price. I paid but I wish they would have quoted me the price by phone. I probably would have canceled. Also, even if you call ahead, you still have to wait in line awhile behind people ordering. Your food sits there getting cold.
The toast was stale , the pork sausage looked uncooked and sadly I found out later , seems the cook doesn't care how uncooked the pork is , I regret that I didn't speak up, i dont believe in returning or letting them take my plate to remake anything,. Their payfirst system wants you tip first as they stand their an watch what tip you'll pay, It was placed on 17% i didnt mind that but after the meal being unpleasant ,I wish I could get my tip back, during the meal, they went to the other 4 table to asked if the people needed anything , I mite have said something or showed her the uncooked pork if shed checked on my table .
We stopped by with my husband for a quick coffee break, but honestly, it didn’t feel welcoming. There was a long line, and compared to other nearby spots, this café felt slower and less organized. The coffee was $6 — not a huge difference from other places nearby that charge $5, but enough to make me pause and expect something a little better in return. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. The interior had a damp smell — like old wood or moisture — which made it hard to enjoy the space. It just didn’t feel cozy or inviting. The whole atmosphere felt a bit sad and worn-out. I’m glad we tried it once, but I wouldn’t return or recommend it. There are better cafés just steps away.
The coffee here is delicious and that’s about it. I ordered food here on Saturday morning and my food came out cold so much so that my butter on my toast didn’t even melt. The omelet was basically tasteless except the cheese. The amount of potatoes that they gave me was itty bitty. They also gave me the smallest glass of water with no ice. The best thing on the plate was the fruit bowl. Don’t waste your money here go elsewhere.
