Bar Moslares Saldaña Reviews
Huge place. Great for kids. Very relaxing. Big windows. The menu Is flexible and has a variety of food. I enjoyed sitting in there while the sun went down. It’s nice to chill out. There were TVs and one of them had some cartoons. Even though it is huge in there it was not too loud. The acoustics are nice.
Do not let the listless style fool you, Monse's carries a traditional breakfest menu, pasta options, fruit infuse waffles, SUSHI, and traditional american wraps and sandwiches. I'll admit it is a little weird being so close to slot machines whilst eating, but they are quiet machines and not distracting. The in-house aesthetics lean towards party bar mixing roof top elements despite it being indoors. Water comes in a corked bottle of all things, to say that they aren't shooting for their own style would be an understatment. Hybridization is apparent, and I'm a fan. Also, I recommend the pasta brava with extra SHRIMP! Come early to avoid high noise pollution!
Monse's Tapas Bar is a hidden gem on Roosevelt. Interesting layout, with gaming machines tucked away and large open air space with plenty of screens. Feels like a collegiate sports bar on campus. Bi-lingual Staff are ultra friendly, attentive and welcoming. Made it in for the brunch menu and had Micheladas along with a chicken sandwich and Sweet potato fries. The sandwich comes with plenty of toppings and fries are to die for crunchy! Well seasoned and a side of ketchup and Cholula makes for a great meal. Set up for a call, work or enjoy conversation alongside coffee... Monse's Tapas Bar aims to please Will return with the kiddos as they would really enjoy the wraps and burgers.
Great place for breakfast. It definitely seems like a fun place to go for a weekend brunch with friends. The staff was absolutely lovely and friendly. The food was beautiful and delicious, some of the best French toast ever! It seems like a family owned place which is always nice to see. We will be back often.
This is a new restaurant in the area... Beautiful, clean, open concept, with video gaming on one side and a full bar to another. I'm guessing that the garage doors will be a great feature once the weather perks up a bit. Servers are the sweetest, and very attentive. Food has great presentation and is full of flavor. I have gone about 6 times since they've opened and my main complaint is that it gets pretty chilly due to the garage doors which in turn makes the food / coffee cold quite quickly. Other than the temp, it's a great place to visit and dine-in. Photos show meals from different visits... All great meals with great portion sizes, so far the only draw back I had was the size of the steak I received for my steak & eggs meals. Seemed like a small portion considering the price point, BUT full of flavor for sure and would order it again if I'm feeling fancy. My favorite is the Eggs Benedic, and their breakfast potatos are perfect.
They have a nice space! Love the gambling machines. lol the open concept! The decor. They have karaoke during the week I forgot what day it was… But the service not the best they need to hire bartender and cooks. When I call for breakfast the cook didn’t show up. So they were not making breakfast. I called 3 different occasions because I really liked the Açaí Bowl. I hope they survive and don’t close
The atmosphere is beautiful now the quality of food is disappointing. The menu states they are serving Canadian bacon but it was slices of honey ham or sandwich ham. The potatoes were not fresh they were reheated. The crepes are supposed to have Nutella but No Nutella, it's just chocolate syrup. The coffee was super cute and the omelet was good too. Overall we were not impressed with the food.
I ordered a cóctel de camarón con pulpo, it was not very good. Shrimp were cooked just right but the octopus was extremely salty and had a funky smell to it. It was brought out with nothing more than crackers to accompany it. No salsas, no limes. Just the plain cóctel. My wife ordered some fish tacos. The fish tacos were actually quite good, but again no salsas offered to accompany the tacos. My kids had a pasta and they liked it. Unfortunately the atmosphere was not very inclusive for a family. The music was deafening and looks more like a bar than a restaurant.
When I visited awhile ago, the food was good! However, after attempting to place food orders on separate occasions during different seasons , the kitchen is always closed and or the cooks don’t show up. This place should advertise as bar only if the restaurant hours are consistently not accurate. Also online ordering should be turned off with no accessibility in these scenarios. Not sure if they even cook for dinner time at this point. Tonight I arrived around 8:20pm and there’s no one available once again, to make food ..I now have to wait for refund for online order..& I only received text response. Please do better !
Stopped by on a weekend night with some family for some drinks and it took them over 20 min to attend us. They also said they didn’t have certain drinks even though it was on the menu online. Oh, and its cash only. Ive been here for breakfast and we were able to pay with card. We played a song and it was quickly changed by one of the workers there.
Like many others have stated, the place is sort of cute, but will continue to be stagnant because of overpriced food and false advertising. It was also dirty and empty when we arrived. I ordered a waffle and specifically requested a kids meal for my side (you literally get no sides/additions for the price you pay). When the bill was brought out, we learned that they didn’t honor the menu price and instead decided to charge for an entirely different combo. Very very weird. And frankly not cool. Despite confirming that I would indeed be charged for what I actually ordered beforehand and asking her to read the order back to us before placing it (to avoid this), they didn’t take accountability. The server wasn’t necessarily rude but was generally very nonchalant about everything and didn’t seem to care that the menu was out of date or would not be honored as listed. They have gambling slots too (I guess as a draw/money grab) but it just feels desperate, and I don’t even gamble. I would not come back. There are wayyyyy better and more affordable spots to enjoy nearby and in Chicago. Avoid if you can.
Had high hopes but was purely let down. Upon arrival, No one greeted us. I guess the one who was supposed to, was watching tv at the bar. Food is overly priced for the portion size you get. Mimosa tastes like juice. If I could recommend adding diced potatoes to the base of the Monse’s Bowl would truly make that dish worth its cost. When I was shocked by how it came, I was told I could add potatoes for $4 more and then was brought French fries. In my personal opinion, it’s the type of place to say you’ve tried but wouldn’t return to again.
The place is nice but way over priced very small portions. Had a situation where phone died and forgot to transfer money… they were nice enough to let us charge our phone in the car and wait inside till it turned on Great till the wait became almost more than my meal. Thinking I was paying 56 dollars then come to find out they over charged us for 88 dollars I tried disputing the cost with bank but sadly they could not do anything about it bank suggested get in touch with them. I thought ok they should be able to see the receipt and what was actual amount that i was charged. Mind me we ate there Sep 10th for our anniversary now it’s almost the end of October yet to be able to speak to a manager or get a call back. When asked when will I be able to speak to the manager turns out that they don’t have one so I was told and that one of the managers from another one of there locations would contact me and yet nothing. Honestly its a very nice place but make sure you check how much your getting charged at the end
