La Costa Salinas Reviews
Delicious tacos!!! Everything was really flavorful and fresh, staff is friendly and the space is really clean. Favorite was the carnitas and the chicken tacos. Outdoor patio seating.👌
Al Pastor SUPER burrito is the bomb. And their green sauce is just right on spice. At only 8 bucks I'm sold
Shrimp burritos are stuffed with big, perfectly cooked shrimp. Nachos are the best you will ever have, fresh avocado, pico di gallo.
Great place to eat don't have to wait long for the food and its not greasy.. price is great..luv to eat here when we can definitely recommend this place♡♡♡♡
The food was hot and fresh. The restaurant has an open style and was made quick. There green sauce was tasty. Try the tacos here!
Tacos are the bomb! So damn good. And a great price. Favorite are the El pastor
The tacos here are always amazing! My favorite is the pastor! Yummy! Just be sure to bring cash.. Cash only facility.
Great lunch! No frills, just damn good quality
Tried this place and was surprised at how great the food was. Ordered a super burrito and had a hard time finishing it. I recommend this resteraunt. Give it 5 stars.
Fast, fresh, delicious served by nice people. Meticulously clean. Went out of my way to bring my wife here driving down 101 through Salinas last week.
Great food, super friendly staff!
Love their chicken tacos! Haven't had anything else from there, but lots of people come so I'm sure their other food is good as well.
Amazing food, I just wished they would take card. Many times, I don't go there just because I don't carry cash and end up going somewhere else.
Never disappointed. Good food. Don't mind that they don't have taco Tuesday special.
Always great food and prices are comparable to others
My mom loved their tacos also my dad enjoyed the tacos with a side order of rice and beans I had a tostada a whole shrimp with avocado hot sauce ketchup and lime delicious
The steak burrito is really good. Always amazing service and fast. They recently remodeled so everything is new.
Best taqueria in town. That's my opinion anyways, I love their carne asada burrito and tacos. Closest to authentic mexican food in Tijuana. I love it. Only bummer is it's cash only, but still worth scrounging around for some spare change.
Good food and they are very accommodating with adjusting orders. So much better now that they accept cards for payment.
Great little taqueria with outdoor seating and tasty food. The green chile pork is delicious in a quesadilla and the carnitas are tender no matter what they're in. Service is fast and the employees are nice.
Unbelievable shrimp burritos! Highly recommend. We were passing through and lucked out on this find. Will eat. Here every time I pass through. The staff was friendly.
Used to come here for the tostada mixtas... and then I was introduced to there tacos..love this place!! Everything is a really good price and the food always taste so amazing !
I love this place! Best al Pastor in Salinas! What do you say? Clean, Friendly, Bilingual. Simple food. Salinas semi- historical location.
The food is always fresh made. Specially the seafood and their prices are reasonable. Also they service is fast and cordial.
Food fresh & fast service, affordable inexpensive clean atmosphere great ! no indoor dining due to pandemic, carry out ok! Five stars#5❤
Best place on North Main to get a quick bite to eat that will fill you up. Only problem is that they DON'T ACCEPT CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS, but extremely worth it. A salinas staple in my humblr opinion.
Always on point! Street style mexican food at its finest! Just not on wheels....can't go wrong with a Torta or Taco. Shrimp burrito isn't too shabby either.
Love this place good customer service food is amazing
We walked over here while our bikes were being worked on at Bear Bikes. It was delicious! We were craving mexican and this place definitely hit the spot.
Pineapple in the Al Pastor! 🤤 They take credit card and touch pay (Toast). A classic feeling restaurant with good food and fast service.
The food is great here and very affordable, you can dine in or take out, they also have restrooms for customers 👍 has been consistently good for many years. EDIT: I had to change my comment to add that they now accept card! After many years they only accepted cash so very awesome!
Food here is tasty I really enjoy there super burritos and green salsa.
They do accept card, and the food was absolutely delicious! Large portion, cooked perfectly, and just very delicious. I plan to invite my friends here next time we are hungry!
I gotta say the burritos at this place are grade A. I give them 5/5 Tacos amazing!! 5/5 If you get thirsty my favorite drink to get here is horchata, best in the area. If you're ever in the mood for good Mexican food on northmain, I definitely recommend this place as one of your stops.
Really good Mexican food, the only downside is that they only take cash. It's more of an inconvenience than a downside I suppose. They can go through a long line pretty quickly too, and make the food in a short amount of time. It's why I can overlook the Cash Only & still give them 5 stars lol.
In my 27 years of eating tacos this is hands down the best place in 100 miles... The food servings is moderate and the food is priced reasonable clean restrooms... This is a CASH ONLY business... So for the things MasterCard can't buy there's cash... Keep up the hard work guys!!!
First time there. They were closing and still took our order. Food was great and price is very fair. Bathroom was tidy and had hand soap sanitizer and paper towels. Great experience. Especially since we're out of towners..
The BEST Al Pastor (Pork Adobo) in town! Vegetarian burritos and mariscos are also offered. Low prices on their menu compared to other similar restaurants in town. Never had a sanitary problem whenever I visited, also has a "chill" type of vibe because of the open environment which let's air and sun in.
So i came back 4 weeks later to bring a friend. I checked their hours online and it says they close at 9. I think "alright lets go"...we arrive at 823...they have their closed sign up...i have to know..are they seriously closed??? Yup...they're closed. I just wanted tacos and tostadas! I'll be back..just not so near to closing.
La costa has really good seafood and tacos. The tostadas of raw shrimp and chicken tacos are my favorite. They only take cash which is inconvenient sometimes when you only carry plastic. Also, I'm not always a big fan of loud music so I have my food to go 😊
Chill spot for some delicious and affordable tacos. Great choice of meats for a traditional taco experience that can't be beat. Other menu items are popular but I recommend the tacos, get a bunch and bring cash. Salud!
We tried the tacos today, not bad. The al pastor was a bet spicy for me, but that's okay. Very good food at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.
My favorite burritos and my favorite red salsa. Always get great food at great prices with great service here thank you
The shrimp cocktail or shrimp tostadas are my go to at La Costa. I also enjoy their tacos de pastor. At La Costa one orders and pick ups via window and has outdoor seating only.
You can eat comfortably off 20 bucks here with your friends, inexpensive, good quality food, the service is always fast and friendly no matter how busy they are, I like the music they play while you eat, there's handicap access to eating tables and to the bathroom which is great for Mom! I have yet to be disappointed in all the times I eat here.
Great Mexican food! They have all the authentic favorites tacos, tortas, burritos, seafood cocktails and more at reasonable prices! And they're fairly quick😀 I would eat there again for sure!
You just never know when the last time you will eat at a restaurant is, for me it was when I first had a burrito and a quesadilla from here. So long, South Main Street Mexican food. It was a good time, but I spent more work making it taste better, and La Costa came all the way through and needed no adjustments. This is my new normal!
best mexican food ive ever had
Great & cheap tacos! Make sure to bring cash as they do not accept cards. Only reason why I am not giving 5 stars is because the website location is messed up and gives you a menu for another La Costa. I wanted to go specifically for the shrimp tacos but was informed on arrival they do not make those, even though they have shrimp burritos. I'm sure it would be very easy for them to do shrimp tacos and they would make a killing from people like me! Updated review January 2024: They now take credit card!
The burritos here were so yummy! I got chicken in mine and my fiance got beef in his. Both were delicious. I think the beef had a richer flavor though, so I would get that next time. But I really enjoyed the spicy chicken as well.
Cash only and patio seating! Really tasty and authentic Mexican food.
Good, fast Mexican food. It lived up to the expectations of quick lunch fare that is not a burger.
If this place had indoor seating it would be great. I had taquitos de cabeza and menudo for breakfast. It was all so tasty.
La Costa makes what may be the best burrito I’ve ever had.
I had their menudo today with a side of bolillo bread. Its "BOMB" highly recommend this place!!
I had never eaten at this place before, but was very pleased with the food prices and atmosphere.
One of the best taquerias I've ever eaten at :-) giant portions at moderate prices.
My husband I eat here often. Their cocteles and ceviche tostadas are really good. I've also tried the carne asada torta and I'll definitely be getting it again.
🌮 Ka Costa Taqueria — a flavorful gem in Salinas! If you're craving authentic Mexican bites with no frills and all flavor, this spot delivers. ✨ Highlights: - 🐷 Al pastor tacos that hit the spot - 🍤 Shrimp ceviche that’s fresh and zesty - 🌯 Burritos so big they deserve their own zip code - 🪑 Outdoor seating with a casual, local vibe 💸 Heads-up: It’s cash only, so bring those bills or be ready to sprint to the nearest ATM! 📍 Located at 1306 N Main St, it’s a local favorite for good reason. Fast service, generous portions, and a menu that keeps you coming back
Yesterday I had a huge burrito, steak and all the fixings. With a can of soda and 2 cups of Salsa Verde for 15$. Tasted like homemade food, so good. It rained so hard, open air seating. It reminded me of Puerto Vallarta, awesome. Poor Taco Bell across the street with their industrial mess for over 20$
Inexpensive tacos and burrito shop! The food is pretty good also. Pretty fast getting the food ready also. Not a bad place to go for some tacos, burrito, or other items.
Expected better, their burritos on tik tok look amazing, but just like any other taco store the inside is a different story.
Great food and fast service, would give 5 stars but prices constantly going up.
Tacos are bomb!!! Love this place. Bad thing they don't accept debit/credit cards. Cash only .
Food is good. They only take cash though. I miss Roy's burgers, they used to make the best burgers in Salinas and we're located in this location.
Really good tacos and quick and cheap! Cash only though, and outdoor only, so good luck if you're looking for a sit down meal when its chilly/windy. Otherwise this place would get 5 stars from me. It's always busy and you often have to wait in line.
Hi friends, if you are hungry and like seafood or carne asada tacos go see La Costa Taqueria. There is a good food and good service, any time. I like it very much, is a family place so you can take your family and enjoy it.
This is a location that I had not wanted to stop at because I still remember it as The Historic Roy's Drive In of Salinas, but one day a coworker and I stopped by because he wanted a burrito from there so I decided to try one myself and found out the food was delicious I'm still old school and wish Roy's was still there but at least the building is still there and memories of my childhood wont be forgotten.
They now accept credit and debit cards and they accidentally charged my buddy for two Super burritos instead of one. I caught the mistake and informed the kid who was making the burritos. He, in turn, told the cashier and we were refunded $11 with no fuss! My buddy raved about the quality of his burrito. I ordered the Tostada Mixta and it was enough to feed a family of four!
Inexpensive, tasty Mexican food. I had the chicken tacos. They were sweet and a little spicy. They didn't melt my face off, but sometimes I like to taste my food, so this worked out well. As other reviewers have said, this is a cash only establishment. The next time I'm in the mood for quick, affordable Mexican food, I will return.
Their chicken tacos are amazing! We also ordered a chicken burrito but the excess avocado in it made the whole dish bland!! Very quick service! Not much of an ambience. And remember to take cash cuz they don’t accept cards.
A good stop when in town. The food is great and menu on the order of taco trucks. Due to the gang activity in that neighborhood we are always looking over our shoulder when eating there. We would recommend this place.
Authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices although I recommend eating there. My to-go order was a mess by the time I got home but was still delicious.
Their shrimp and octopus tostadas taste good but need more flavor. Their horchata is good too. Their servings are pretty big.
We were hungry and the place had street appeal. The smells were also good as we drove by, so we turned around and came back and pulled in. Everything looked neat and clean and as I said had street appeal, by that I mean well ordered no trash anywhere and well kept. There were cars in the parking lot and I walked up to the order window with several people ahead of me. I examined the menu from overhead and mentally prepared my order. When I got to my turn I placed my order and took a seat to await delivery of my order. I actually didn't have to wait long and my order was delivered to me via my number provided to me upon completion of my ordering. Although I wasn't provided any silverware or napkins, my order was complete and exactly as I ordered it. Since all the orders are to go or you can sit at one of the tables and eat, my husband and I were eager to get back to our hotel room, so we took our order and left. When we got back I snapped pictures of the food which you see below, everything looked delicious and as we tasted the fair, it was as good as the pictures promised. In fact the tostada had so much meat I had to take some of the meat off just to eat it. Although I'm from out of town I would go back to this restaurant again to order and, I probably will, since we often visit here from out of town. All this food was only $13; as I said, it tasted good, but later, we both had indigestion from the grease. I guess each person must decide if it is worth it.
Good for a quick bite if you have a craving for mariscos. I had a shrimp tostada the ingredients were fresh they put plenty of shrimp. I also had a cocktail de Cameron it had good flavor plenty of shrimp only thing is it wasn't as cold as I like it. All in all it's a good place to stop bye for a quick bite to eat.
I really liked the ceviche tostada with octopus and the shrimp cocktail was pretty good too. But I felt that the main plate that I ordered which was the green chile pork was pretty bland. At first, I thought it was good with the rice, beans, and tortilla. But when I was eating it without the sides, I thout there was no seasoning at all to the dish and I ended up throwing the rest away. And just FYI for anyone wanting to go here, it is a cash only place.
Really cute spot and great service but my meal was underwhelming. I ordered a carnitas plate and the meat was so dry. I didn’t finish it. Maybe it was an off day and the food was sitting for too long. I would have asked for a refund but I didn’t want to be a hassle for the workers.
The meat of the asada and chiken tacos tasteless and very dry for my. pastor tacos taste regular 2 of 5.
The good part is the shrimp burrito had lots of shrimp. Thats it. Its just an enclosed taco stand. No bathrrom...😧🤭 is that even legal? Dirty floors, dirty tables, noisy, but food came fast and portions were ok.
When I ask for a specific ingredient not to be put on my food, they still manage to put it. I am allergic to avocado and when I specifically ask for no avocado they still put some on. I am super frustrated with this type of service.
1.50 for a oyster... It wasn't even attached to the shell. The shrimp contail was horrible it had no taste, playing you guys can cook the shrimp with lime it would give it an excellent taste .everything seemed done the night before disgusting!. 😫😫😫
Employees shut this place down before closing time as advertized ive been waiting to write a review on the food but this early shutdown has happend to happen every single time I've tried coming here, I will never try coming to this place again. Owners beware your employees are costing you revenue, they turned away 4 other cars of people the same time they turned me away.
The bathroom is disgusting!! It looks like it never gets cleaned by the employees!! And I don't like the fact that they don't accept any debit or credit cards there only cash there!! And there food is way to expensive..
Used to be our favorite spot... 😔 Unfortunately, they've changed recipes. You can simply tell my its taste and texture. It had been months since we've had their menudo... it's become trash 🗑 🤢 🤮. Then we returned Monday, 5 de Mayo... Campechana was sooo bland/tasteless. Sadly, won't be returning anymore. 💔 ----------------------------------- The entire family loves their food!! Sat and Sun... want menudo, GET HERE EARLY!!! It doesn't last.
For Sure Im Not Eating here Ever Again They’re Carne Asada Tacos Gave me Diarrhea And Stomach Pain after eating there !
The seafood is lousy. I bought Fish ceviche and shrimp ceviche. It no longer is prepared the same they use less quality ingredients and still charge a lot more
I always think to myself, maybe my communication isnt clear enough, but I order my burrito the same way, and every time they get my order wrong. How hard is it to roll carne, onion, cilantro, cheese, sour cream and red sauce into a tortilla and toast it? Is this a difficult order to fulfill?
This is my second time here. First time was pretty good. Decided to order the Platillos with carnitas, this is legit the worst carnitas I've ever had. If it wasn't raining so hard I would drive it back. It's more like pork jerky. Nothing tender or juicy at all. Super disappointed 😞
