Birria Bario Southtown San Antonio Reviews
Best Birria tacos in San Antonio. Let me put you on game, crispy shell melted cheese seasoned meat..... then the DUNK in the hot consumè temperature hot not spicy hot, and the explosion of flavor put the lime onions and cilantro on it and im telling you and all the big backs across the world you will not be disappointed.
Very flavorful quesobirria tacos the consume was heaven. I loved that they had seating outdoors. Best birria I've had in San Antonio!
Delicious food, 😋 fare prices, and very authentic Mexican barrio taqueria atmosphere 😋 👌 💯
This was the best birria we've had in a while. It was juicy, and seasoned just right. The meat was lean, not fatty, which is a plus for me personally. We received two salsas with our tacos, and they were both equally delicious. We will definitely be returning here when we come back to San Antonio. The only downside here is that the tables are all set up outside, so if you go in the cool season, take a sweater!
Excellent service with good food to match!
Absolutely amazing experience! I got the birria balls and WOW the size is huge and they were so juicy and flavorful. I also ordered the #1 tacos plate, and every plate comes with lime, onions, cilantro, and sauces, which I really appreciated. My boyfriend got the sampler plate and it was incredible; it comes with half a grilled cheese, egg rolls, a birria ball, tacos, plus onions, cilantro, and sauces—such a great way to try a little of everything. Everything tasted super fresh, and I loved that you can grab your own pineapple salsa and limes, plus they have authentic Mexican glass bottle sodas. There’s plenty of parking and seating both inside and outside, and the whole place feels bright and full of love, with people of all kinds just enjoying delicious, juicy food. This was our second time here we will definitely be back.
First impression is humble and inviting, doors left wide open, wide open outside space and inside room. The location is right of St. Marys St which has some living night life. The Food is delicious, the quesobirria con consome had me craving more with its juicy well slow cooked meat and flavorful dipping broth. If you want some authentic local mexican food, this is your spot.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Great food every time. I crave these tacos weekly. I’m thrilled they are in Southtown. Now, I can pick them up on my walk. Oh no, that may not be a good thing…but hey, life is short, enjoy every bite. 😊❤️
The service is always great and the food comes out fast. My daughter and my favorite is the Grilled Cheese Birria (video), and my son's favorite is the Quesabirria. You can enjoy your meal outside on the covered patio or inside the school bus where there is A/C. The flavor is excellent, the salsa adds kick, and they definitely fill everything with plenty of meat. Be sure to ask for extra napkins, you'll need them. All around top tier place.
I always make the 40-minute drive just to get my taco fix here—totally worth it every time! The food is consistently amazing. That said, they’re a bit cheap on the lime, which can make a big difference with tacos. Also, the horchata was disappointing this time, it had a gritty texture and a thick layer settled at the bottom. Not the refreshing drink I was hoping for.
This place moved from its previous location to the S Alamo location. Ordered birria tacos and quesabirria. The food, while great, was a bit greasy which is why I’m taking two stars off for food. However, there are many items on the menu that I want to go back to try, one being the birria ramen and another being the birria balls. The inside is spacious and has seating! Also outdoor seating. Great salsas
Food was good, yet overpriced thanks to the +$2 extra charge for a “meat shortage” but I did not like the fact that I wasn’t told there would be a 40 minute wait until after I paid. When I asked if it was too late to cancel the cashier said “yeah” Also had to wait 20 mins and ask 3 times to even get my drink. Was greeted with an attitude each time I asked.
I visited Birria Barrio with friends. The food was good, but the service was disappointing. The A/C was out on a hot day, my soda was warm, and they charged me for a cup of ice. For the prices they charge, basic accommodations should be expected. The service was rude, and there are definitely better taco places around.
I had been wanting to try this place for a while, and I honestly regret it. When I finally went, they had no working AC, and it was unbearably hot inside. I still paid their overpriced menu and even left a tip. Later, I asked for a simple cup of ice because the Coke they gave me was warm, and they actually had the nerve to charge me $2 just for ice. That’s terrible customer service and absolutely no consideration for the fact that everyone in there was sweating. Completely unacceptable. I won’t be coming back.
