As A Chef. The food takes you straight to Mexico! I ordered the Menudo which was so flavorful as well as Chile Pablano Relleno y Carna Asada, Queso with Rice and Beans. The service was AMAZING food is Delicious and came out fast. The host, waitress and Manager were all FANTASTIC. Prices are extremely reasonable. I'll be back and have no complaints. I eat here often. Try them!!!!

The chicken enchiladas were good! But my husband did not like his chorizo bean tacos. Friendly service though!

Nice little small store with a family feel. Great food and the portions match the prices. I got the asada taco with a side of charro beans. Loved it, just wish they served beer! Overall a great place to eat

This is a nice, low-key. Looks like mostly locals eating there, which is a good sign. I had the #5 Mexican Plate. The food was good. Service was fast and friendly, and it was a good value. The place is a little worn out looking, it no complaints. There are tons of Mexican places in the area so it’s hard to choose.

The food was incredible!!! Super delicious. Big portions. Attentive service. It took quite a long time to get our food. And the bathroom was in bad shape. But I will definitely visit again.

Be prepared this isn’t like your regular mexican restaurant, anything you ask for other than what was brought to you will be an extra charge. No refills on the not fresh lemonade they say it is. I asked for a Togo cup and it was a charge. Times have changed. The open food $1.00 I don’t know what that is. 🧐 There was only one worker that smiled the hour or so I was in there.

A bit stingy with their food... Food is great, service is good. The only thing I don't understand is they have a special in the mornings three tacos for $3 and some change. But then they have a minimal credit card charge of $5. I come here almost every day for the special and and Saturdays I order a huge take out for breakfast. The lady got upset with me because she's telling me the manager will get mad if she keeps giving me what she overcharges me in cash. How unfortunate for them because I will have to start going somewhere else across the highway from them that will actually take the charge and have great food as well. So unfortunately the 75 to $100 I spend here every week will be going somewhere else. But I do recommend the place if you're not going to get the taco special in the morning.

The food was horrible I asked for fajitas and got steak my sister got beef soup and said it was fresh it was old very bad food I usually go there for the cocktails are great never go there anymore a waste the money

Old building old nasty tables food was disgusting 🤢. They asked if the everything was ok I said no and there was no acts of trying to fix the problem. The food had old meat and nothing appeared sanitary. The team member didn’t even offer an apology

El Gallito de Jalisco — 9226 (San Antonio, TX) Very disappointed with the service and food here. The waitress had a poor attitude and clearly didn’t care. We ordered three tacos my daughter added beans to her potato and egg, and they literally gave her a tiny smear of beans. When she politely asked for a little more, they charged almost a dollar extra. That’s ridiculous considering there’s already an extra charge just to add beans in the first place. My other daughter ordered a bacon and egg taco with potatoes the eggs were overcooked and tasted gross. I got a simple potato and egg taco, which was fine at first, but the tortilla was hard and clearly not fresh. When I asked for it to be remade, the waitress just brought me a plain tortilla and told me to switch the filling myself. Totally unacceptable. To top it off, my water cup was leaking. For nearly $12 for three tacos, the food and service were both awful. This place has is not worth it at all, especially if you’re expecting decent service or quality food. I won’t be coming back. I told the waitress that and she shrugged her shoulders and said she didn’t care! I should have taken pictures of the tacos. Ridiculous!!

I just visited San Antonio and passed by this place. I can’t believe it’s still in business. Years ago when we lived in San Antonio, we had take out from here and there was pubic hair placed in my mom‘s tacos. It was quite a few at the bottom of her to go container. Why was it placed there ???? That was very cruel and disgusting and so many other things. My mom was a very sweet lady.I am so serious and disgusted that this place is still around.
