Bella was lovely! Thank you once again!
Kona grill is the GOAT !!
This place is so great, the waiters are quick and attentive to your orders. The bar are welcoming and warm to chat with, and the managers are quick to solve any problems. 10/10 would always recommend to come and eat here.
sat at the bar and drinks were great! bartender “beetles” really took care of us and food was awesome.
Place is amazing! Atmosphere is great! Bartenders are awesome and the saki bombs for 9$ happy hour are worth it x10
Mr. Von was great! Had a great time! go spurs go!! Very respectable and friendly service! 10/10 will come back.
Von was great service was awesome food was fast truly a memorable experience
Von was exceptional with our table was great!!
Had a blast watching the Spurs, Tyler is so attentive and friendly. Our drinks were 10/10 definitely get the espresso martini with Sarah!
I was concerned that the service and quality would not be as good as the location at la cantera but I was pleasantly surprised. The fried pickles were some of the best I have ever had and the rest of the food was just as excellent. When it came to service, Tyler went above and beyond. This will be the only location I go to specifically due to Tyler’s professionalism.
I love this place so much. And I love the new location. Tyler was so attentive and helpful when it came to the menu, and he even volunteered to hold my baby when she was crying so I could finish my food. I’m from Canada so we don’t have Kona’s there. What an awesome time.
Amazing atmosphere! Tyler was nothing but courteous and patient. They accommodated our party of 10 and I’ve never experienced such a fast flow???? For being new this was good experience of America 🫶
Tyler has always been so helpful & fun to be around. i love visiting this location!!
Best food i've ever tasted in my life Dakota was an amazing server and gave me great advice on what to get the sushi is so amazing and the brownies and ice cream for a dollar is so delish
Food was great!! Alyssa and Lana were very helpful since it was my first time here!! 10/10 will be coming back!
Justine was so helpful, super sweet, and accommodated to all of our needs. Made our girls brunch special 💗🥹
The year was 2026, a server who had recently been hired graced us with his presence and hospitality, his name was Von Battey Jones’s, his supervisor Tyler was standing tall, and in an exquisite burgundy suit, As I walked through the scenic doors and immersed myself in complete enamor with the ambiance and warmth clearly I was in a place of greatness I sat down in a corner booth, and watched as the mountain of guests come in and out of the restaurant and the bar had a beautiful back drop my eyes were plastered with amazing views of laughter and beauty and the food don’t even get me started if I had a last meal on death row would be Kona Grill without a shadow of a doubt. So how would I rate this place look at the stars and you’ll have your answer for what is a man what has he got if not himself.
New Kona location in S.A. The food was really good and the service was great! They have a good happy hour too! A+!
Go for Monday HH. Deals are great! The manager was so attentive to our needs.amd made sure we we were taken a care of.

Love Kona grill my favorite place
As a customer, I can tell Tyler truly cares about this restaurant. Everything is always clean, organized, and runs smoothly. The staff seems well-managed and the atmosphere is welcoming. It’s clear he takes pride in making sure customers have a great experience.
Kona Grill, is just fantastic! My wife and I go there regularly for date nights. Julian Ramirez, always makes sure we are well taken care of and treats us like family. We are so happy to have Such great service when we choose to dine at your restaurant! Customers for life!
Absolutely amazing experience at Kona Grill! Our server was Amaris outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcomed from the moment we sat down. They were knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, and checked in at all the right times without being overbearing. The service alone made the night memorable, and it really elevated the entire dining experience. You can tell they truly care about their guests and take pride in what they do. I’ll definitely be coming back and hope to be seated with the same server again!
I had a great experience at Kona Grill Landmark! The Picasso Roll was delicious—fresh, flavorful! I also ordered the jambalaya, which was rich, hearty, and perfectly seasoned. It really hit the spot and stood out as a highlight of the meal. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. I had the pleasure of meeting a kind and attentive gentleman who I believe was the manager—his name, if I remember correctly, was Julian. He was warm, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was just right. That personal touch made a great meal even better.
I had Dakota as a server and she was amazing. Ilana too stopped by and let us know about these amazing happy hour deals! Overall the service was amazing and the food was so fresh, great deals on Monday happy hour and a great time overall!
I wanna give a big shout out to Sara at Kona landmark!!! She is always so nice and fast plus with a smile on her face! Definitely when you come, you have to ask for her section!!! So happy with my service always! And food is al says delicious! Don’t get me started on that happy hour!!!!!
This establishment was delightful, with excellent cuisine, and Kam provided exceptional service to me and my colleagues. They even presented a dessert in celebration of my birthday, making the experience truly outstanding. I would highly recommend this place to friends.
Thank you for the beautiful upgrade at this location. Still need some flare on wall but definitely better. Food quality and service are still stellar like at previous location. Love the larger open patio.
Judith deserves a raise, a trophy, and possibly her own national holiday. 🍹 I came in expecting a normal night out, and somehow Judith turned it into a five-star dining experience mixed with a comedy show and emotional support session. The drinks? Perfect. The food? Came out like it was escorted by royalty. My glass was never empty long enough to start questioning my life choices. Judith has that rare superpower where she remembers what you ordered, anticipates when you need another drink, and somehow keeps the whole bar laughing at the same time. I’m convinced she could run the place blindfolded while making a margarita with one hand and serving food with the other. If you see Judith behind the bar, congratulations — you’ve officially won the bartender lottery. I came for a drink and left wondering if I should nominate her for Employee of the Century. 10/10 service. Would absolutely trust Judith with my drink order, my dinner order, and probably my future. 🙌
sarah Is an amazing server. She made sure our food came out correctly and in a timely manner. She offered great services and is very kind.
Food was absolutely delicious. We had seven seas menu and it was amazing. Excellent customer service from our server Ryan and GM Julian.
Love the new store. Wish they had the open bar to outside, but the food is great. We had a very professional server, Amaris. She was very personal. Noticed table next to us needed cleaning, but when I asked hostess to clean it, she did promptly. Manager leaning on wall, hands in pockets. You got time to lean, you got time to clean. Bartender was cleaning constantly. Overall great but manager needs to be more attentive and dress a little better for this classy restaurant. Just a little more detail to this place and you will be great. Thanks Amaris for great service!
Sarah was amazing would for sure ask for her, she was quick, made sure all the food was correct. Made sure we properly served whether it be silverware, drinks and or sides. Everything was a 10/10
amazing service! i love kona and this location is definitely living up to the standards! Anna, Ryan, Gavin, Hugo, Carlos & Ysel all did an excellent job making sure everything i needed was taken care of
Service was 10/10! Sarah did an awesome job as our bartender! We will definitely be back from more! We love KONA!
We had a great experience at Kona Grill. Management checked in during our visit, which was much appreciated. The food was well prepared and flavorful, the overall atmosphere was welcoming. Will definitely visit again.
Bella at Kona was absolutely amazing. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. She knew the menu well, gave great recommendations, and checked in at all the right times without being overbearing. Her energy and professionalism really elevated the whole experience. If you’re dining at Kona, ask for Bella — she’s the reason we’ll be back.
Dakota was my server and she was great! She was super funny and energetic. I enjoyed the meal as well, but the service was excellent! Definitely coming back
Brayden was the best server I have ever had this was a delight experience and the manager Tyler was passing by and checked on us made us feel like home love the new location
my first time coming to this location, I really like the la cantera one but this new one is a little more up scale and clean, which I really enjoy! the food is still the same great stuff, i mainly come for the sushi rolls and wagyu fried rice! i think the new atmosphere is really cool and i can’t wait to see how the continue to upgrade this new place!
Had a fantastic time at the new Kona Grill location! The sushi was delicious and fresh! (Crab Crunch Roll) The whole atmosphere was a total vibe; perfect for a night out! A huge shoutout to Logan, Tyler, Christopher & Julian who took care of us, their service was amazing and truly made the meal even better. I'll definitely be back!
I had such a great experience here from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the music wasn’t too loud, and everything felt clean and well put together. The food came out fresh and beautifully plated — you can tell they actually care about quality. Every bite was flavorful, and the portions were generous without feeling overwhelming. What really made the night stand out, though, was the service. Our server, Dakota, was amazing — super attentive, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. She gave great recommendations and checked in at the perfect times without ever hovering. You could tell she actually enjoys what she does, which makes such a difference. Manager Tyler also stopped by our table to make sure everything was going well, and that extra touch really showed how much the team values their guests. He was professional, personable, and clearly runs a tight ship because everything flowed smoothly the entire evening. Overall, this place absolutely exceeded expectations. Great food, great vibes, and even better service thanks to Tyler and Dakota. I’ll definitely be coming back — and recommending it to everyone I know!
My friend and I recently visited Kona Grill, and we had such an amazing experience. They just moved to a new location, and everything was so clean, modern, and welcoming. The atmosphere felt fresh and comfortable, which made the whole dinner even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious.. everything came out fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. But honestly, the service was even better than the food. Bianca was our server, and she went above and beyond the entire time we were there. She was so warm, friendly, and attentive, always checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. She gave great recommendations and made us feel genuinely cared for, not rushed at all. Nowadays it is very rare to find service that thoughtful and positive. She truly made our night special, and my friend and I both said we’ll definitely be coming back because of her. Im telling you this young woman deserves the biggest raise ever. If you go, ask for Bianca , she’ll make your experience 10/10 I promise!
It was really great the waiters and waitresses was so sweet. Illana was so sweet she such a great waitress and she gave us idea on what she thought was best. She also was quick when bringing what we asked for. This place is so great can’t wait to come back.
Food was great. Really enjoyed our service. Our waitress Sarah was very helpful, and very attentive to our table. Personality was also very good! Will be coming back again & again.
Amazing happy hour! A lot of good food options- ordered the spicy tuna roll and the frozen Kona margarita. Would definitely come back and recommend. The service was fast and friendly- Christopher was great and took care of us!
We had such a great experience at Kona Grill thanks to our server, Sarah! The restaurant was busy, but you would never have known it from our table. Service was incredibly fast, everything came out perfectly timed, and she stayed attentive the entire night. Sarah was friendly, professional, and so on top of everything. Our drinks were always full, she checked in at just the right moments, and she made the whole experience feel relaxed and seamless despite how packed it was. That takes real skill.
Great service. I think is name was Von. He was a great guy and gave good conversation. Food came out quick and request were taken with no problem. Manager came to check on us. All around good time.
I came in today and had a great experience at Kona Grill. Judy was my bartender and she was awesome, very friendly and attentive and made the whole visit really enjoyable. She checked in at the right times, had a great attitude, and made excellent drinks. You can tell she really cares about giving good service. I will definitely be coming back and hope to get served by Judy again.
Had dinner and drinks at the new Kona, it was really nice. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The manager Julian was super cool when he brought us our food. We will definitely be coming back.
Bella was absolutely wonderful! She brought such a positive vibe to our table and made us feel welcomed right away. She was attentive, professional, and always made sure everything was perfect. Bella handled everything smoothly and never made us feel rushed. Her kindness and great attitude really stood out, and she played a big role in how enjoyable our visit was. Amazing service to go along with amazing food.
My experience when I visited Kona at the new location mainly for appetizers and drinks was very enjoyable. My compliments to the chef for the delicious appetizers, the bartender for good drinks, and especially for the exceptional service and attention we received from our server Ryan. We will definitely be returning!
Went last night to try out the new Kona Grill at the Landmark location. Seems the La Cantera location closed and moved here. Bit smaller and the deco wasn't very inviting..Dark and the tables and chairs were rather not fitting with the vibe of the place. Booths looks nice though we didn't sit in one. We were seating rather quickly as I did make a reservation..really wasn't needed as the place was not that busy for a Friday night at 7. Took a bit for server to get to us but once she did she was wonderful. Sarah was her name..she was the best. Funny, very engaging. Was a bit disappointed in the menu offerings, but she said it was going to be expanded as they work through their move and get some item favorites back on it like fish tacos and fried rice. Our table was able to get the fish tacos even though not on menu!!! Sarah saved the day when she offered that up. Stir fry and burger were good though pricing for those dishes seems a bit high for what you got. Calamari order with peppers seems more focus on the peppers and was more expensive than my burger entre! Overall, service saved the day. Was quiet so you could enjoy conversing at your tables so that was good. Nice big windows overseeing a big patio so view was nice overall. Overall worth the trip but more seeing how they develop and move forward. That restaurant row area is very competitive and if they don't get it right they won't be there very long unfortunately.
Amarias was our waitress ( I apologize in advanced if I spelled her name wrong) was super kind! It was my son’s birthday so she made him feel special on his day. The food was decent, I think the sushi rolls were fresh but not the best in SA. My husband didn’t really like the bbq chicken pizza because he said the sauce was a bit spicy. My dad did enjoy his Wagyu fried rice so that’s good. He also loved that the egg was sunny side up on top of his rice. My son’s bento bowl was a lot of food for a child but it was so well plated and super cute, he loved the fruit that was shaped like a bear. He kept calling it “ Mickey “ which I thought was super cute for kids. The desserts were good here, we had the chocolate cake and raspberry small cake with ice cream. The chocolate cake was a lot of chocolate so if you’re not really a chocolate fan- I don’t recommend this. I love chocolate, so I think it was delicious. Overall, it was good and the customer service was great- I definitely would try it again and they also have a great happy hour menu! I believe it’s available ALL day on Mondays, Tuesdays-Fridays 2pm-6pm, & then 9pm-Close. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought that was pretty neat and within a lot of people’s budget. The most expensive price on the happy hour menu for food was about $9 which is great!
My husband and I were looking for a nice place to have dinner on a saturday night. I wanted sushi so I suggested Kona. We went to the one closest that was at North Star mall but when we got there and realized that the whole front parking lot is pay to park, we decided to leave and went to the Landmark location close to I-10 and 1604. We got there and the hostess gave us a really small table but we wanted a table where we could sit next to each other the hostess told us there was no other table, eventhough we could see plenty of empty tables. The manager Tyler came to talk to us and quickly find us a booth table and we were very happy. I ordered the spicy Crunchy tuna roll and my husband got the chicken stir fry and both were delicious. Highly recommend. Thanks to the manager Mr. Tyler for saving our night.
Came to the new location to give it a try after our last nightmare of experience at La Cantera. Not much changed. Cons: No management to come check on the experience Waitress talked so fast and low I could NOT understand her. I had to have her repeat multiple times Out of Cola Expensive apps Pros: Waguyu beef fried rice tasted good That’s it! Will I be back? Maybe not as this is the second experience we have had with them being out of drinks and poor service.
The food was good, however the tables and chairs felt cheap with table cloths over it and dramatic presentations. Some walls look like as if I was at a gym.. Did feel like I over payed. Will stick to North Star Kona.
I was honestly disappointed with my recent visit. Paying $33 for stir fry sets a certain expectation, especially for a restaurant that presents itself as upscale. Since moving to the new location, the atmosphere and overall experience no longer feel like what I would consider upscale. For the price point, I expected much better quality and ambiance.
Disappointing visit. The service was poor our waitress never brought the water we asked for and barely checked on us. The table and plates didn’t seem properly cleaned when we sat down. The sushi was good, but the mac and cheese was bland and my mango cocktail somehow tasted like lime. Not the experience I expected.
My mom has always wanted to try this place we stopped by about 30-40 minutes after they opened. We were greeted upon arriving, sat almost immediately the place was pretty empty still so we had a decent spot. We glazed over the menu nothing jumped out as really appetizing looking or sounding so we only ordered an avocado egg roll, the sauce made the egg roll without the sauce the egg roll was pretty bland and $20 for 2 egg rolls. We also ordered 1 drink each I ordered a dragonfruit margarita which was amazing and my mom ordered another alcoholic beverage I believe it was a passion margarita. We just had the egg rolls and went to another restaurant to eat. Overall drinks were amazing, sauce for egg rolls great, service was great.
Bar tender working today 03/06 was very rude, condescending, and un professional. All around sassy. Management talk to her!
Building was strange and cheap feeling-hostess was really unhappy when we walked in. They were out of all draft beer and still operating on a limited menu. Spicy tuna tasted off so I had to send it back-didn't want to get sick. Unfortunately this location was not ready to open. There were a ton of people working and the food wasn't good at all. This whole chain has gone downhill and I won't be returning to either location-La Cantera or Landmark. Not sure if this place will make it with its current situation.
Kona used to be located in La Cantera have a good music, good environment and overall good vibe that has completely changed. The food is Awful. The building is cheap And it’s crazy expensive. I ordered chicken sauté and it was like four grilled nuggets from Chick-fil-A except it cost 25 bucks. My friends ordered watermelon margaritas and couldn’t even finish them And my wife ordered a spicy chicken that was $21 but not as good as the eight dollar one from H-E-B. At that point, we decided that it was even worse ordering Entrées because this clearly wasn’t the same restaurant that used to be at la cantera The building is cheap. It’s walls are like painted cinderblocks and wood siding. The tables are cheap and wobbly with table cloths, but they still have like patio chairs that are wobbly. Feels like they are getting over on people who are expecting it to be the same restaurant they used to be at the mall they should be out of business pretty soon cause this place is awful
If I could give this place less than one star, I would. This location is not the same as the one at La Cantera, the menu and quality are completely different. The food is extremely overpriced for what you get. I ordered a salad that cost $28 and it came with literally shredded chicken. For that price, I was expecting actual pieces of chicken, not scraps. My husband ordered the Guayu fried rice, and he could count the pieces of meat on one hand. To make it worse, we ended up paying $90 for just three items. Very disappointing experience and absolutely not worth the price.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! If you are planning to go here because you liked the location at La Cantera, DO NOT COME HERE! This restaurant is nothing like the other location, the atmosphere here was more like fast food than upscale but with the same upscale prices. Food was DISGUSTING! I ordered a ribeye and received some cut of meat that was NOTHING near a ribeye, was closer to dog food. The presentation of the food was awful, taste was worse. It was SO LOUD in there, the design of the building is like an echo chamber. Service was bad, probably because every staff member is in high school. Overall awful.
I cannot stress enough, how disappointed I was in my visit to this restaurant. First and foremost, let me say that I am a huge Kona Grill fan going back 15+ years. So when I heard that they were opening a new location here in San Antonio I was absolutely thrilled. (although construction of this location was delayed by almost a year! They were supposed to open this location around summer of 2025). The Kona experience has always been exciting for me. From the chefs making the sushi full on display in the middle of the restaurant, to the good music, amazing happy hour and visually cool stuff like neon lights and modern interior design. They closed my favorite location at The Shops at La Cantera (which I assume was because of expensive rent). But with the announcement of a freestanding restaurant in the Landmark area, Kona had the opportunity to do something really special. Unfortunately they didn’t…. When I walked in, I immediately felt the presence of whatever restaurant this was prior. Yes, instead of just tearing down the former building and creating a fresh new restaurant, they used the former barbecue location, added a fresh coat of paint and called it Kona Grill. I sat at the bar and while the bartender was friendly and polite, I was extremely disappointed by the watered down wine Margarita I was served. And I say “wine” because this was obviously not a tequila based margarita. I had a couple of happy hour small plates that were mediocre at best but ultimately I cut my visit short because I was just so disappointed in what Kona Grill had done. Again, I’m going to say that Kona Grill had the perfect opportunity to put an amazing location here in San Antonio and it be one of the best restaurants in the area. I was beside myself in disbelief on what they chose to do instead.
They made us wait for 20 mins without taking order and asking for drinks. Very poor service. Would not recommend at all.
It was my first time at the new location. The main reason for the visit this time --was they had a happy hour menu. To start-the women's restroom wasn't clean. The sink was so dirty I didn't even want to wash my hands. I ordered a cocktail, and the waiter brought it and when he sat it down his sleeve went in my drink. (His shirt was very dirty and stained-not a great presentation for someone serving food). Edamame was decent, is the only positive thing I have to say. Then we ordered 2 chicken lettuce wraps. When it came out I almost sent it immediately back because it looked like cat food. I should have went with my instinct, because it was inedible. As a matter of fact, one of the orders had a random piece of shrimp in it. Don't order the lettuce wraps! Lastly, I ordered a beer off of the happy hour menu- the waiter informed us that all of the beers on tap weren't working. I asked if there was a comparable beer at a menu happy hour price- he asked the manager- and the manager said no we can't give you a beer on happy hour at this time. It's a "won't be back" place.
My husband and I got caught in a terrible rain storm. We pulled over and decided to seek shelter. The manager told us their power went out. We said, okay can we come in out of the rain. (We are having this conversation outside the door) He refuses to let us in. We then run back to our truck and then their power turns on. We decided not to eat there. I figured their hospitality is a direct reflection of how they would treat their customers. We found a better place down the road.
The name fooled me. I'm thinking this was Hawaiian food. This place has absolutely nothing to do with Hawaii. Also, this place is way too expensive for what they offer. There is a reason why the website doesn't post prices on the menu. For example, the glazed salmon was $37. That is a mahi mahi price, not salmon! Anyhow, the place was clean and the staff was very nice, however, I strongly don't recommend.
El bartender carlos bien grosero!
We decided to give Kona Grill on Landmark a try. Right away, the building itself gave off strong "former fast-food spot" vibes — like Kona was trying (but not quite succeeding) to transform it into something upscale. Our first table rocked like a rocking chair — I genuinely felt seasick just sitting there. The place has that weird mix of fast-food bones with fancy tablecloths thrown on top. The booth seats were stained and felt downright dirty. The menu prices are quite high, I wanted to give it a fair chance and not judge a book by its cover. We started with the Meatballs. They were crispy on the outside and tasted like basic seasoned ground beef — nothing like the ribeye they're supposed to be made from. Only 4 small meatballs on a tiny scoop of generic mashed potatoes, topped with some peanuts and a sweet soy-type sauce. This appetizer cost over $20. For the main, I ordered the Ribeye with Shrimp. When it arrived, the steak looked long and thin — more like a sirloin than a proper ribeye. (I even uploaded a photo to Grok, and it agreed it looked nothing like a classic ribeye.) After a couple of chewy bites, it definitely tasted like sirloin, not ribeye. It came with just 3 regular-sized shrimp and more of that same plain mashed potatoes. This entrée was $49. I ordered a Watermelon Margarita, but they were out, so I switched to a Paloma. It tasted like canned grapefruit juice mixed with bottom-shelf vodka — very disappointing. Our server disappeared after taking our order and never came back. I finally flagged down a manager, who removed the ribeye charge. A second manager later stopped by to ask about the experience and insisted that was their ribeye and they don't serve sirloin. Fair enough, but you can't call something a ribeye, charge ribeye prices, and serve something that chews and tastes like sirloin. Overall, this was a very underwhelming and overpriced experience. Between the worn-out interior, shaky tables, dirty booths, lackluster food, absent service, and questionable quality on premium items, I won't be going back. I do not recommend this location. If you're wanting an upscale experiance there are a lot better choices in the area, there are much better options that deliver better value and consistency.
This new location is severely lacking. We loved the la cantera location and the food was always amazing. Our server was wonderful so that was a plus. But unfortunately won’t be returning. We paid so much for food that was mediocre at best. Not the Kona we knew and loved.
