Restaurante MARIA C San Cayetano Reviews
Chicken enchiladas are my go-to dish at any Mexican restaurant, and these definitely didn’t disappoint. I also enjoy seeing how each place makes their salsa, and theirs was excellent. The rice was simple but still full of flavor. Based on how good the enchiladas were, I’d happily come back and try more items on the menu.
Quaint inviting family run spot. Maria greeted us wuth a smile and food was fast and excellent
Me and my girlfriend ate here, only because it was the closest place to our AirBnb rental. Wasn’t rated as good as other Mexican places nearby but we both absolutely loved it. Authentic food, the salsa was solid and came with free queso with beef dip which almost no other places do! She had the ribeye steak with eggs and vegetables and I had the fajitas with beef, shrimp, and chicken. Came with lots of grilled onions and great variety of other things besides the 3 meats. Going back as soon as we can!
Imho this is the best Mexican restaurant in town (except maybe for that food truck in front of Mavis Tire) There are 2 reasons why Maria's stands out above the rest... 1. When dining in, they offer you chips, salsa, plus their 'Maria dip' which is queso/beef/bean dip. No other restaurant adds that and it's delicious. 2. Last time I checked, they do not pass along the 3% merchant transaction fee when using a card to pay. This is tied with reason #1 for why I have not been back to Mi Rancho in years.
Maria's is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Aiken. Very clean, great food and service. My favorite item on the menu is Gorditas, and you can't find it anywhere else. Try it with carnitas (roast pork). Also, Maria's is family owned.
Visiting from out of town, and a friend brought us here. Busy place, be patient with the host and servers as they are running around. The food was very good, some of the best I’ve had. They start you off with chips, salsa and queso sauce, for dinner I had the El Paso, from their favorites section. Prices are good, and parking is easy.
Been a while since I'd been there but it was the same! Good
I had the pork chile verde, which was very tasty, nice tender chunks of pork. My husband had the beef taquitos which he said weren’t very good. Margaritas were good.
Visiting from Georgia decided to stop here for lunch and the food was amazing with a fair price of it's quality. I had El Paso and it was 🔥 with a frozen Piña Colada margarita. Service was ok but the servers should be more active, it took a while to get the bill but server was fine ash so it's aight
food was very bland. not edible. I threw mine in the trash can
Too expensive for what you get. Food is never that good pretty low quality. Better options in Aiken.
I have gone to this restaurant for many years and the service has always been hit-or-miss but lately it has gone downhill significantly. There are increasingly longer waits for service, which would be understandable if it were busy, but I can wait an hour or more for the check on a slow night. The food is always good. They never seem to run the air conditioner. Edit: 9/07/2025 I have tried going back a few times recently since my last review 4 months ago and things have gotten worse. I went back on 9/5/2025 and had terrible service and it was sweltering inside and only seemed to get worse over time. The food was good but after our initial order nobody checked on us for a long time, again. When my party was ready for the check we waited over 30 minutes to get someone's attention to bring us the bill. After we asked the lady who buses the tables to speak to Maria (since apparently nobody else was going to bother serving us), her son Andrew brought us the checks but did not cash us out. We flagged Maria down and she asked if there was a problem, and I tried to explain to her that the air conditioning was bad and also that it has been an issue for a long time that our servers always disappear from us and she walked off while I was talking to her. It took another 20 or 30 minutes before she bothered cashing us out, while she was cashing other people out while knowing we had been waiting a long time. I will never go back.
This restaurant has boosted their prices so high you might as well go to Longhorn or another fine dining establishment. The food has no seasoning, the steak is not top quality, and the fajitas is 80% onions and green peppers and 20% meat. Very dissatisfied experience. There are far better Mexican restaurants in town.
This restaurant is the worst they overcharge on large fishbowl margaritas.21.95 and they tried charging twice for the drink with two different people and say they never got the money .and had to look at the camera and realized they did take this money from my friend ..and ask us to leave in ten minutes.. and this was for a party..and they got drinks for the party and never asked if the party wants anything to eat...worst mexican restaurant and the green margaritas one looks like snot and the other looks like a regular margarita .cant believe they did this to a friend and for a boss having a party and we weren't being that loud .
