All That Shabu San Diego Reviews
This place is exactly what I’ve been looking for in San Diego, AYCE with an appetizer bar! For appetizers, my favorites are the fried rice, japchae, and cabbage kimchi. They also serve iced green tea, which I love having with shabu-shabu. Each person gets their own pot, and you can choose one soup base. We tried the original house and beef bone soups, but both were too bland for my taste. I asked to add sukiyaki broth to my original soup, but it didn’t make much difference. They offer a variety of dipping sauces, though I found them just okay. The quality of the meat is good for AYCE, the thin slices are perfect for shabu. Over all, I’d give a 5 for the appetizer bar and service, and a 3 for the shabu itself. Still, I’d recommend this place for a fun dining experience.
Surprisingly not that busy. We've been here twice already. The staff are super attentive and the place is very clean. I appreciate our server (I think his name was Kay, sorry if I spelled it wrong!) letting me mix and match soup bases! The music isn't super loud so it's easy to have conversations. My only critique is that the water heating for the side dishes could be better. They don't stay warm for long once taken from the food bar. Will come again!
I have never tried hotpot and WOW! What an AMAZING MEAL! I loved everything I tried and I am not a ramen person. I can't wait to go back with my fiancé!
All That Shabu is fantastic! The building feels new and modern, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the food quality is outstanding. The meats were fresh and tender, the vegetable options were plentiful and crisp, and everything tasted top notch. Service was just as impressive, with the staff being friendly and attentive, and Daniel especially going above and beyond to make the experience great. Highly recommend!
Servers working at this restaurant were really friendly and careful. Overall food experience was good though it was all you can eat. I like to visit this wonderful restaurant again.

Premium meats, fresh vegetables, and seafood. Each guest enjoys an individual hot pot with a variety of flavorful broths.
Fyyyyeeee 💥💥🫶 every selection possible for san diego hot pot. very fresh meat being sliced in front of you very very yummy! 🔥
Very quaint, very nice and clean. Lots of variety and tastes very good. Large selection for $40, seafood and unlimited meats. I liked the sesame balls and noodles and lot as well.
Decent shabu shabu for a decent price. Staff is very friendly and I liked their soup options
I live in Temecula and always drive down to Irvine just get my all that shabu fix. Now that Mira mesa is open I no longer have to make the drive to Irvine! Wife and I been waiting for this place to open!! The best shabu hands down. It beats shabu works by a mile.
Sooo amazing really kind servers and great food and ambience. Only sad thing is there was no chocolate ice cream :(
Good food, good service, good price
Wife and I both became sick after eating here
Clean, friendly, kind and respectful
Great place, lots of options to choose from
Delicious I love this place so much 💕 💖 💜 ♥️ 💛 ❤️ 💕 💖 💜 ♥️ 💛 ❤️ 💕 💖 💜 ♥️ 💛 ❤️ 💕 💖 💜 ♥️ 💛 ❤️ 💕 💖 💜 ♥️ 💛 lo recomiendo y los empleados super nice 💜 💕
Friedly, attentive service
A little shortstaffed, which is understandable since they just opened. Meat quality was on the high side. Salad bar has a lot of variety options, including crabs. Wish they had coke instead of pepsi.
I've been waiting a long time for this place to open, and it's finally open. This is going to be the hottest spot in San Diego!!! There are six options for broth. My friends and I are very good, savory beef bone broth and spicy broth I ate some sukiyaki broth, All the broth was perfect, The meat we ate was all soft and the quality was so great. There were fresh vegetables in the salad bar and a lot of seafood. Other types of noodles and fish balls The korean hot food was pretty good, too (My friend ate a lot of Topokki) Then they all boiled it and dipped it in the sauce. That was one hell of a bite, huh? You can eat the broth you want in a private pot, and if you can eat these various foods, it is much more valuable to eat at home. You can save. It's a very spacious place and there's plenty of parking.I'm here with my friends and colleagues. I'm sure he'll be back
I’ve been coming here a lot since they opened, and somehow it just keeps getting better every time. The staff and the food have really leveled up. The space is huge, and more people need to be coming here. Such a great spot.
I call myself a regular at this place, I love it so much. It's great food, kids love cooking their own soup, co-workers enjoy it for lunch. And I enjoy the variations you can create with all the ingredients you can choose from. The place is impeccable clean and staff is super nice. I almost wish it to stay a secret, but I know they need business to survive. This is wife approved and co-workers approved, I have people rave about it and the kids already declared they want to go for their birthdays. I drive 30 miles in the WE just to eat there.
This place is great! 11 different meats, all you can eat, and a massive buffet with just about everything you would want. And it's fairly priced. I was alone, and they kindly say me at a booth. Everyone was friendly. Will definitely be back!
Compared to other hotpots, the soup and meat menu is optimized to the popular selections. The appetizer, seafood, and vegetable selections are comparable. No wait, prompt service, clean environment. Soft serve ice cream, classic.
I really satisfy this restaurant! It was really impressive! This place serves top-notch prime meat, comparing to most AYCE restaurant have poor quality. Their food are fresh and very very very delicious even all the hot food. There was SO many menu on the bar and drink and ice cream was included!! Servers were very kind and nice. It was enough to eat fully within 90min and this location is huge. This is great restaurant for a family or big numbers of group party at an affordable price.

This is located at the shopping center where Target is. I love that there’s plenty of parking in this area. We were seated right away when we arrived. AYCE dinner price is $37.99. They only have 7 selections of meats. But if you saw the salad bar, you almost dont need any meat. The salad bar has all the veggies you can put in your soup. The bar also had seafood such as shrimp, crabs, baby octopus, crawfish, and many more. They, also, had different selections of noodles, fish cakes and fish balls. Another section had kimchi, japchae, tteokbokki, etc. then they had the sauce section. For dessert the had soft serve ice cream. The place is big. There’s a lot of space for big parties.
Not bad, not fantastic. It's an All You Can Eat setup, with a 90 minute time limit. The meats are well prepared, and they cook in the broth in around a minute. There's an extensive bar with veggies, fish, ready-to-eat items (kimchis, fried chicken, sesame balls, other goodies), 8 or so dipping sauces, even soft serve ice cream. Soft drinks are included in the price. The broths are ok. I had a miso broth, and my wife had the house broth. In many Shabu places, I find that the broth is super flavorful by the time you're done cooking stuff. In this case, the broths were mostly just salty. This is in the old Souplantation location. I preferred them. RIP

Very good meat. Nice side options and sauces. They even have soft serve ice cream.
This place is pretty good. Huge self serving selection, plenty of seafood options, and the broths were good. Only big caveat is that they only serve 3 meats at a time and the slices are super thin. Wouldn't be a problem but they only give you 1.5 hours for the ayce. I don't know if we were ordering to much meat but they actually timed us 😂. This is the first time an ayce place has actually timed our full stay. It just rubbed me the wrong way cause I saw other tables that were there longer than us. I wouldn't come back since there are plenty of other options and at $40 I'd rather not have to watch the clock.
We ate here one Friday evening. We came in about 9:25pm. They explained that the kitchen closed at 10:00pm so we could only get meat until 10:00pm but that they were open to 11pm. Unfortunately, they did not also explain that the drinks (teas etc) were already gone and that the entire bar of vegetables and other ingredients also finished by 10pm. It was a little strange. They did stop by several times to make sure we had enough plates of meat before 10pm but we would not have eaten there if the other part also closed at 10pm.
A much anticipated opening of All That Shabu, but it definitely fell short. Restaurant was pretty empty and big (former Souplantation). Did not get seated until our entire party was there, I'd understand if the restaurant was full but we were missing 1 more person (table of 4). Price - good for the selection Broth - this is where this place falls short. The broths were bland bland bland. No flavor, no umami just lightly seasoned water. I got the Spicy Beef and the rest of my party got the regular beef and miso. Unfortunately, they were all the same - bland. Salad Bar - the salad bar is really where this place shines. There is a hot food section that is pretty good, but its important that they need to maintain food temperatures as to ensure safety of food. The chicken was cold and not rotated enough. Ample amount of veggies and other hot pot items. Sauce Bar - ample amount of different sauces, no complaints there. Meat - there are about 8-9 different options to choose from. I will start by saying the meat selection is good, but here is where the issue lies. We ordered 3 meats at a time (their limit) for 4 people. You would have expected a good amount of meat to come per person but what we got were about 6-8 pieces of extremely thin meat (think Carpaccio thin). This is not enough for 4 people to eat normally. When ordering more meat you have to track down a server and hope they remember your order. We have to follow up 3-4 times just to get our second round of meat which took about 10+ minutes. The unfortunate thing is I think this is what they rely on to be able to get you filled up on the salad bar and hot food items. Overall - I am not sure if I would return, there are much better hot pots in San Diego that punch you with flavor in the broth and have good meat as well.
My boyfriend and I decided to try this place on a Monday during lunch. We thought we'd be getting better service since there was only one other table. The establishment looked nice and we like the ambiance but the food and service fell short. Much to our surprise each table only gets one order of three meats at a time. Doesn't matter the amount of people seated at the table. We often go to other hot pots all you can eat and they let you at least have an order person. But not here. Not to mention the wait in between orders when it was literally just us and one other table. Plenty of staff seemed available but the orders of meat would take approximately 10 minutes. We even asked if we can get our own orders of meat since it was taking so long and they said it's against policy. We sat down at 1:40 pm and by 2:55 they told us we were cut off from ordering more meat with no explanation, just a "last call." The policy says 90 minutes and yet we're cut short on time and on ordering. Considering how empty the restaurant was we were shocked as to the time not only being short but the amount of round we were only able to get due to waiting for so long. The quality of the food is there but it's very disappointing paying for the idea of all you can eat and we didn't even get full. This place says all you can eat but clearly won't get the amount you want. I'd rather it just be a normal hot pot place because all you can eat doesn't meet the demands of just two people on a empty Monday afternoon, I couldn't imagine when it's busy and paying their dinner price for the portions given.
I have to be honest and agree with the other reviews that while the food was good, the service is what makes me not want to return. The food bar was a plus but I do wish they had more options for your dipping sauce. When we first arrived, the host explained how to order and they served us the soup base and first 3 meats right away. The meat portions are small and you eat them very quick even with a 2 person party. After that, we had to flag and chase down a waiter multiple times for the whole 90 minutes just to get more meat/ utensils. We also had a bad experience because they sat a family with a baby next to us and they received much better service than we did the entire time. Waiters would come and ask them if they needed anything CONSTANTLY and completely ignored us unless we got their attention. While this place is a food hot pot option, we’re not sure we’ll be back often.
Too pricey for the food quality honestly. Drink choices are quite lacking. Meat is sliced why too thin to not fall apart before it's even out in the broth. Quality and slice of meat is the major focus on why eating here and pay $40+ a person. So..... That is something I would consider to revisit and being my friends and family. Falling apart thin slices meat isn't looking and tasting good.

giving it 2stars to remind myself not to come again. salad bar, lots of variety. crab meat was terribly jelly. cooked food were cold. meat quality ok, but very small portion and was told that each table limited to 3 plates each round, which is a disaster because the meat came very slow, 15+mins waiting each round while the house was only half full. in 1hr we ate 3 rounds only. slowest ayce in my life. at last 30mins when the house was only 1/3 full, meat came very quick in less than 5mins. still, this is not a good ayce experience. wont come again. no fruit.
•The servers/employees were all very nice, but weren't sure about the ingredients in a lot of the food at the bar when asked if there was seafood or meat in it. It'd be nice if they could have a paper with that info in case anyone else asks •The vegetarian broth was horrible. It literally tasted like boiled celery water. I understand that we went to a place where most people eat meat and can have meat broth, but why include one called vegetarian broth and then not even try to make it taste good? Shabu Works has multiple delicious vegan broths. Our meal would've been way more enjoyable if just the broth was tasty. It was a bad first impression on a place we've been waiting for so long to open ):

Service is absolutely terrible. Servers will ignore you.
肉太薄了,蘸料是酸酸的感觉,汤很随意,如果想吃好一点的火锅,不太推荐
최악입니다 고기도 별로고 몇점 나오는데만 10분 걸립니다 (Takes 10 mins to get like 5 pieces of meat per table, worst experience ever. Don't visit. Service was also very rude
Don't go to this shabu place! We've visited so much shabu/hot pot places and this is the worst! First the service is terrible, the lady with short hair, ignored us the entire time we are there, shes our server won't even look at us, she keeps passing on our table, we keep saying "hi excuse me," (kindly) but nothing, about 6 tries she finally look at us and says, "ill get back to you"! In a mean, yelling manner (rolled her eyes, at my husband) And we waited she never get back to us, We have to go to the front receptionist to ask her for help, because we've been sitting there for 20mins. and kept being ignored. It seems to us its racism, my husband is black american, I'm southeast asian, she wont even look at us, when she took our card for payment. No thank you at all! Our family of 4 we're treated so rudely by this lady. When it comes to there food. Soups are bland, meat are cut so thin, and the serving is so small, waited 15mins. Or more just to get meat. There's no variety of sauces to choose from as well. Overall, we will never going back here and we will tell all our friends to never ever step into this restaurant. What a horrible experience. We don't recommend this place. Avoid it, there's so much hotpot around SD that's way better.
We tried the AYCE dinner option. The meat quality was good and the servers were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place because all the food (chicken wings, sesame balls, etc) in the food bar was cold. The broth wasn’t that interesting and the dipping sauce was sour and limited in selection.
Incredibly disappointed by the service offered by this "AYCE". Majority of my time was spent waiting to get more meat. It took us 5 mins to eat the 3 small plates of meat they bring you. We spent the next 5 mins trying to flag down a server to order more meat. Then we spent another 5 min waiting to receive the meat we ordered. By the time we hit our 80min, they came to tell us it's last order. This was the first AYCE that we left not feeling full. Needless to say I won't be coming back, but really if you are going to strictly enforce the time limit, then don't make people wait 2/3 of the 90min just waiting for food.
