Calypso Bay Smokehouse San Diego Reviews
What can I say about this restaurant. It's in one of my favorite places of all SeaWorld. The food that we had was great can't really tell you how much it cost I just know it was 15 or more but really don't know cuz we had the dine every 90 minutes bracelet. But this is one of the places that we enjoyed. Did I forget to mention that it's in SeaWorld it's one of the restaurants in there. Atmosphere was great very clean staff wonderful. Come see world to check it out for yourself like I said before I suggest getting food bracelets it's well worth it plus it saves you a lot of money
Today I somehow scored reservations for this incredible San Diego gem. I read that this is where the locals go for a good brisket, and as a foodie myself, I just couldn’t resist. Let me say, it lived up to my expectations, exceeded even. But most importantly, I met a girl. She was something else. She was wearing the most flattering rash guard and navy blue pants. She had beautiful long blonde hair and a smile that lit up the ambient lighting (she had a mask on, but I could just tell she she was beautiful). I tried to talk to her, she told me her name was Emily. It fits her perfectly. I asked one of the other employees what her deal was, and they told me she was a shark trainer who worked at this establishment on the side as a passion project. Later, I went out to the shark exhibit and while I was on the tube treadmill I looked up and she was swimming with the sharks! She looked radiant in the lighting. She deserves a raise!! If you know or have seen this girl, Emily, please tell her that I’m waiting for her. I will wait for the rest of my life. The dolphin trainers cannot compare to this beautiful woman, a true sea world employee. Thank you calypso for founding this restaurant where I met my future wife. Emily, I love you. ❤️❤️❤️
On a weekday at lunch time there was no line. The chicken had a really good flavor to it, waffle fries were really good as well. Its a theme park, please remember prices are going to be higher, but one of the best places to eat at Sea World.
Its an amazing place to go to! I love the ribs and the fries with the nuggets. Can't forget the grapes. Takes around 10 minutes to get food. Its kind of worth it. Waiting 4 minutes is more like it. You get a tray and put stuff just like school cafeterias but the food is actually good! The tables are kind of dirty but get the job done. There is also machines with a battery you can carry to charge your phone since where you going to find a outlet? I only found one in a little bench that tells you about the sea animals. And it barely worked. I recommend it as i took my friends and it was so tasty, can't say the park is very great.
This place was amazing! The BBQ ribs, brisket and the chicken were all delicious. So tender and flavorful. The cheesecake is one of the best I've had. I definitely recommend this place. Get a dining plan to eat here.
We really enjoyed their barbecue chicken, side salad, mac and cheese, grapes and some sodas. I thought the prices were very reasonable for a theme park that's always nice to get some good food.
Calypso Bay Smokehouse is located inside Sea World between the Dolphin Amphitheater and the Nautilus Amphitheater. Food is served cafeteria style where you pick your food as you walk through the serving counter. They have a fairly wide selection of different food options available as well as fountain drinks and a few canned beers. This time, I went with the BBQ Smokehouse Chicken, which is half of a chicken. The chicken was very juicy and full of flavor. Don’t forget to show your annual pass for a 10% discount!
I'm not sure the prices people are used to, but it was 16.99 for a combo of 3 different meats. The portions are large and definitely worth your money. The food tastes delicious and is well smoked, really great flavor!
We opted for the all-day-dining at SeaWorld and had our lunch here by the Calypso Bay Smokehouse. The serving was huuuge at U$ 35.99! Glad we were the first in the line-up because it could snake beyond the entrance. The foods were tasty but not really healthy, (except for the fruits, of course) but it's a vacation, so we might as well indulge!

My husband and I went here for breakfast. Enjoyed big breakfast and breakfast sandwich. Food was good. Small cafe with lots of charm and Nice view of harbor.

The line wasn't long however, it took us a long time to get our food. It seems there were two servers on one side and one on our side. Suggestion to restaurant when there is a long line have more staff available or have the person filling the grape cups help out. Tried the bbq chicken, tri tip and spare ribs. Pretty good
BBQ was good! Honestly wasn't expecting much but food was actually good. Got BBQ chicken and fries and side of sausages. Brisket looked good too but didn't get. Line was too long when I got back to going later on in the day. One of, if not best place to eat at Seaworld.
Might be a hit or miss. The food is good, the lines can get very long and the floor is always wet when you go to pay, it scares me. The outside patio is spacious, but the shade isn't great so you'll feel the sun. The fries are almost alwayyyys cold. Sometimes the brisket is dry and sometimes I can't find the brisket underneath the blanket of barbecue sauce.
The wait was INSANE! The food was good, I got the rib plate for $20.99. It doesn't include a drink but do consider the all day food pass for $49.99. The ribs were actually decent for an amusement park and so was the potato salad. The dinner roll was meh. Do set time aside for the line, it's wiiiiiiiild.
The food is very good. We bought the dine all day deal which makes it affordable to eat in the park. For a meal here it is $20 for you meat, $7 for a side, $7 for a dessert and $4 for a drink. It adds up very quickly.
Visited SeaWorld during the week. We were here on a Thursday. I will not complain about the food, Because it was tasty. My son ordered BBQ chicken, youngest one ordered BBQ ribs, and I also ordered BBQ chicken, which I shared with my daughter. Portions are pretty big, line was long, but then, this was the only restaurant we found open.
We came here for my son's 13th Birthday! 😊 The ribs were really good, had to ask for BBQ sauce. Nice portions. The baked beans could be seasoned a little more. My son Loved their cheesecake.
The flavor of the food is very good; that smoky flavor is unique and gives the meat an almost creamy texture. What they could improve on is the soda machines. There was only one, and it no longer had ice, although the drinks were quite cold, and some soda flavors were missing. The toppings bar was very dirty, but that speaks more to the customers who don't care enough to clean up after themselves. I recommend All Day Dine. Two meals will make up for the cost.
It is a Hit or Miss. I got alot of food for $22. I got the 2 chicken quarters. My friend for $24. Got the 3 small rib platter. See Photos. Taste OK, slow service.
First and foremost, if you didn't get the $60 all day dining deal, then don't bother going to eat anywhere at Sea World. This allows you to eat at their select restaurants every 90 minutes. Five of us racked up at $150 bill, so eating here twice covers the dining deal prices. We actually got the dining deal for $40 through some Groupon or something. The tri tip was good, chicken good, pretty much everything was delicious except the cheesecake was a little gritty. We went during the lunch rush so they were low on trays, condiments, and forks.

We had bbq ribs (3 pieces) with crisscut fries, bbq chicken thigh with leg with baked beans, caesar salad, red grapes, 2 cheesecakes, refillable soda, one water. Meal was about $60. Not too bad for what a got. Meats were dry in some parts, but moist in others. Caesar salad is basic small serving size. What's good: baked beans and cheesecake. Overall food was just ok, but it fed us and are full, not starving. Kid ate the entire mac and cheese, pretty good portion. Grapes had seeds in them, not so great for our 1 year old. We just ate it and took out the seeds.
The food: The tri-tip and ribs were tasty. Mac and cheese is very creamy and cheesy. Baked beans was a little too sweet. Service and Athmosphere: this definitely give you cafeteria lunch vibes. Not sure why the line was moving so slow when the food is grab and go. The food is pre portioned and you just grab a plate of your choice. Aparently the staff dont loke getting asked questions since all interaction i seen not just with us but with all the customers were definitely not friendly. Expecting a bit more for a theme park.
Severely understaffed and under resourced. Only half of the serving area was open. They were out of some items or were serving substitutes (like mangled tater tots instead of waffle fries). I felt badly for the kids trying to cook and serve - they looked worn out. And sure, food is more expensive inside the park, but wow... our lunch came to over $50 for two people (2 brisket and one side dish and one drink). That's a lot for having stood in a long line and get a pile of mangled tater tots. And NO ketchup. Pack your food instead. 😉
The line was somewhat slow, my family and I waited around 10-15 minutes to get our trays. Another 10 or so minutes to get our food and pay. If you're trying to find the smokehouse, you can't miss it. It's easy to find. The portion of extras and sides were small for their price.
The meals they offer are overpriced and you have to wait quite a long time to get a meal. it's the best option of the meals you can get with the All day dine ticket. Compared to other restaurants in Sea World this is better.
While the food was good and the line was not as long. The wait time to make it inside and get your food took over an hour which was a long time for the amount of people waiting and the line would barely move. So plan accordingly when going to eat here. 😁
Better than hibiscus for sure. The ribs were better than expected nice and soft in most of the pieces. The brisket were a little hard to chew but the marbling was very delicious. Mac n cheese were pretty decent. BUT the star of the show were the baked beans. Pretty sure they were from a can but they tasted the best. I really wish they had a side for the blueberry goat cheese salad but that was an extra entree $$$ :’)
I can only give this place a 3 star rating. I definitely like my BBQ. Me and the Wife had the tri tip meals added a dessert and potato salad to each our meals. The kid had the kids nugget meal. Meal doesn't come with a drink. The drinks are 7 dollars for fountain drinks so we didn't get them. At the end our meal was 127 dollars for 3. Definitely not worth that. I can go to Dickies for the 3 of us with a drink for 50 bucks max. I don't think 3 times the price is anything short of robbery. I would suggest bring your own food. You shouldn't have to do that as the whole idea is to support the park so they can keep helping Animals all over the world but that's just a bit to much. Money grab. Wish I could rate Sea World better 2 but this doesn't help their cause. I guarantee lots of people don't come to Sea World more often cause of this and what I mentioned in my review for Sea World. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Food is hit or miss. I got the BBQ chicken meal $21 which comes with a 1/2 chicken, potato salad and a dinner roll. The chicken was great, very tender and tasty but the potato salad tasted like it was just out of a grocery store container and the rolls were literally Hawaiian rolls. For the price I figure they would make their own sides. The kids got chicken nuggets and waffle fries, they looks amazing and the kids scarfed them down.
The food was hardly anything to write home about. Not fresh. Not well seasoned. No butter for the bread. No extra BBQ sauce. The seating is outdoors which means that the food gets cold in no time at all. I expect to pay a premium at a theme park. But this place was outstanding a few years back. Now, it's fair at best.
They were out of trays, had one cashier working and the food was way overpriced for dry chicken. 6.99 for a cup of grapes. There are better places to eat in the park in my opinion. Get the meal plan
Definitely the best place to eat in SeaWorld, which isn’t saying much. The ribs were pretty standard, tasty and tender. The fries were good. The prices are outrageous, only really worth it with the all day dining deal. They are more efficient with checkout as there is a cafeteria style line with trays so you can just grab and go. Staff are friendly there.
Decent enough food. VERY pricey for what you get. Nothing looks like the the review photos show unfortunately. The kids chicken strips are now just cheap looking nuggets for $12. The chicken salad is now MUCH smaller than the other photos show. A cookie is literally $7.99. I was blown away by the prices. But the ribs are decent and cost $26.99. Not too salty. The tri-tip is also pretty good $24.99. The fruit is just a cup of grapes or 3 cutie oranges for like $8! The fries are just alright.
Waited in a short line for 25 - 30 mins to get food tray. Then wait another 5 mins to get food. Waited for 10 mins with the cashier to help people before us. Plus to help my family to get our food wristbands. They served me mostly fat. I had to wait to stand for 5 - 10 mins to get a new branch of tri-tip. 🤷🏽♂️ why can't the food wristbands be done by the entrance? It will save the handle and everyone's time. Getting in line to eat at restaurants in Sea World had taken most of the time. Money was saved with the food package purchased. I couldn't visit everything because of it. That's ridiculous. If we skipped eating. Then we could visit all the attractions. But I have family members who are grumpy when hungry. So much for skipping food. Especially when. SeaWorld restrictions are no outside food and beverages. Everyone was friendly at SeaWorld.

BBQ is just ok. Extremely overpriced for what it is. I would recommend skipping unless you have the meal plan.
Mac and cheese was 1/5 stars; it would be expensive at $2 let alone $7. Baked beans were solid, fries as well. Side of baked beans, side of Mac’n’cheese and side of fries… $25… There is expensive prices, then there is amusement park prices, then there is sea world prices…
Cafeteria quality food that is overpriced to $20 - $30 per meal. When I ate here, I got the pork ribs, and they were more bone than meat, covered in BBQ sauce that tastes rather sour. My dad got the brisket and complained of stomach issues in the hours afterward. I recommend bringing your own food in a backpack.
Food is ok, The yellow bread is deceiving, I initially thought it was cheesebread. I definitely should have dined in one of the other sit down restaurants.
Chicken was dry & completely flavorless. Brisket & sausage was the same. Cucumber salad was to salty. Prices are to high for poor quality food. Better off going to old world San Diego if you want a good meal.
Extremely expensive food that is practically McDonald's quality BBQ. You don't really get a choice in what you get, you just grab a plate and pay for it, and you pay a ton for it. For two plates, and a side of grapes, it cost us $60. To sit at outside was dirty, and the little utensil station was dirty and unstocked. The entire experience was disappointing.
The food was decent, but the lines were extremely long. The rib meal is way too expensive considering you only get 3 ribs and my chicken was about 4 bitefuls. Very small portions. The desserts lacked flavor and the iced tea was pure water. I felt bad for the employees because most of the food places were closed so everyone had to pile into a few open restaurants. Makes me not want to eat at Sea World again.
You don't expect much of such places, but still. Fries were tasteless, cold and salty, ribs were cold, but actually not so bad, chicken nuggets didn't feel like chicken at all. Not worth 50$.
Brisket was tougher than leather and was cold right out of the restaurant. Several in it group purchased this dish and it was the same for everyone. The fries were okay. The only thing I enjoyed was the dinner roll.
After spending $89 on two meals, the condiments are empty. Upon asking staff to refill them I wait. After 10 minutes go by I ask again and am told “I’m on my way” with an attitude. I then wait several more minutes for the condiments to be refilled. By the time they return with full canisters of condiments our $89 meals are cold. Sadly this one of only places to get food that better than carnival food in the entire park and the service is horrible.
While at Sea World, we went on the suggestion based on a website my daughter went on for research. The smell was soooo attractive (That's why I scored a 3 for atmosphere). To our chagrin, the tri-tip was undercooked and tough, while the mac n cheese, the supposed "highlight", was bland. For such an expensive meal, it left much to be desired. Alas, that is the amusement park facade.
The food is just okay. Got the half chicken and it filled me up. The prices are excessive even by theme park standards. $14 for a canned modelo. $7 for soda (refills $2) and fruit $6. 5% surcharge on everything on top of that. Line moves extremely slowly. Do not recommend.
Why so many food items not on the menu? You list a garden salad as a side for $6.99, but it is a Ceasar salad lettuce/cheese/croutons... A garden salad typically has cucumbers, tomato, onion, and such. There is a grilled chicken salad on the menu for $17.99. An actual garden salad, a tri-tip salad, and another that I'm not sure what it was. No price listed and staff didn't know. Also the last 3x we have eaten here I need to chase down an employee for forks and salad dressing. Today there were 3 people in light blue shirts that clean up and dont stock any utensils or condiments. I said i already asked inside for dressing and was told it was outside, so I'm asking an employee outside to avoide going back inside. So as I am using a cane, carrying a tray, trying not to spill the drink, and keeping track of my son that has special needs, going back inside to ask the cashier again for salad dressing. Also why do the entrance door not have fans yet the exit doors do? Did you know the bugs can get in the same way people do?🤣🤣 It wouldn't take much effort to male this place better, but management doesn't seem to care. The food is 2 star as pre-made and left in a hot box a while. Most food places at SeaWorld San Diego don't even deserve a 1 star. SeaWorld San Diego has the absolute worst park food I have experienced in my years and we visit many parks on a regular basis.🤷🏼♂️
I am not a barbecue fan, however, I decided to give this try since it’s one of designated places where kids can have a meal every hour. It would of been nice to have it hot, it’s not completely the restaurants fault since my daughter had to use the restroom for the third time. Don’t know much about brisket or pork ribs, are they supposed to be hard? Maybe I should of went with the salad they accidentally charged me (refunded). For first time at sea world, the gastronomy needs so much improvement.

Sadly, this was not good. I came here with middling expectations after reading some okay reviews, but was thoroughly disappointed. Barbecue chicken had no seasoning, only tasted a grease, and was unbearably dry. The lone positive was that the line was short and it wasn't very expensive with the pass holder discount.

extremely bad food, for an expensive price 70$ for 2 fries and half a chicken, horrible staff like the cashier who is very slow and can't work normally, it even seems like she's drunk, I would never go back, if you want a terrible experience, come here
No cheesecake, no happiness. The workers treated me with the most utter of disrespect, and left me unsatisfied. Today was my birthday and this will mark the worst day of my life
Stood in a long line, got to the front finally only to be told "They're out of biscuits and it'll be 5-10 minutes." Oddly enough the other side of the restaurant had biscuits since that line was flowing just fine. 10 minutes later the cashier told us if we weren't going to get anything we needed to leave, and when asked if we could get a plate from the other line the answer was "It'll be 5-10 minutes for biscuits." Idiots. So we left, all this just to try to get some boiled meat with BBQ sauce on it?
Wait time is awful! SeaWorld does not allow outside food into the park and the wait times and service at all their vendors is ridiculous! Their marketing is not very good. Instead of saving the planet and assuring everyone of all the good they are doing they might begin with serving the hand that feeds them.
The wait for long enough on a Friday but the food was just horrible. I’m sitting here eating while writing this review seeing people in line next to my table for an hr. Briskets were too hard and they literally smell was so strong, like a dog can food you buy at grocery store. Ribs barely had any meat on it. Knowing it’s a restaurant inside Sea World with this quality and this price, it is considered expensive for such trash food they serve…
The meal that I ordered was the Crunchy Onion Bacon Brisket Sandwich. All of the neat on it was 99% fat. The service was terrible and the line was out the door. If I could, I would give this a -5 star rating.. Never stopping here again, and ruined the day at seaworld.
Poor quality food and expensive. My girlfriend and I ordered the bbq ribs, wich were salty and hard. The meat did not fall off the meat and the bbq sauce tasted nothing like bbq. The bbq plates included a dinner roll and they were all out and did not replace it with another item. The baked tasted like cheap boxed cake with a chocolate sauce on top.... poor quality all around dave you’re self the time and grab a bite outside the park.
Fellow regular patron of Seaworld speaking: Do not go here. Ever. Don't even walk near here, lest you fall for its trap. This is a warning from a poor victim who is currently huddled in a ball waiting to be let out of his cage, and I am only fed dry morsels of barbeque chicken, moldy lettuce wraps, stale fries, and lukewarm Schweppes ginger ale. Most of the meat options I have while in captivity are oddly moist and frankly, I don't appreciate the amount of effort that is put into the food here. I came across this predicament while making the fatal mistake of stepping foot in this so-called "restaurant". I thanked my gag reflex for stopping me from emptying my meager breakfast all over the other unknowing customers, who don't seem to have noticed the putrid odor eminating from their plates of "edible" food. I knew something was off about this place. I was quite disturbed by their supposed enjoyment of consuming such vile substances, suspecting brainwashing of entire families via trace chemicals produced by hazardous funguses. Due to this new hypothesis, I reached out to the manager, who promptly took me aside and locked me in a secret concrete prison 50 miles underground. The only things I have to keep me company are whale plushes with floppy dorsal fins. So, please give it a second thought before eating here.
Horrible service. Beef brisket was ok bit the buns on both sandwiches might as well been cement. So hard you couldn’t even eat them. The line was short (maybe 20 people) but it took over 30 mins. Not worth the very expensive price. Sea World should shut this horrible place down.
I bought 2 all-you-can-dine deals for my wife and me. We got there about 2 pm yesterday. We got in line about 3 pm at the Calypso Bay Smokehouse. I was in line for over 1 hour. By the time I got to the front 1 hour later they had no chicken and also no ribs. My wife and I really wanted ribs. We just spent $92 on passes and no ribs. You guys don't have enough people serving the food to get people through and out in a timely manner, not 1 hour. It looks like there is no MANAGMENT there.
Super bland food. Potato salad, ribs, Mac and cheese, Caesar salad- all hurting for flavor. Not the worst but far from good. My Coke was warm, the only decent dish was chicken strips and waffle fries. Mediocre at best. At least the beer was cold from the vendors.
This is not real bbq, and even if it were it would still be over priced for what little you get. The lines are insanely long, we waited an hour for cold meat that wasn't even smoked. The bbq sauce is terrible too. And there is hardly anywhere to sit. Save your money and eat somewhere else.
We bought the meal plan at SeaWorld and let me tell you it was definitely not worth it. I got the smoked chicken, my husband got the ribs and my son got the chicken tenders. First the good the onions rings although soggy were semi flavorful. The ribs were ok. The chicken however was the dryest chicken I have ever eaten. It was literally chicken breast jerky. The only reason I ate it is because we were starving and waited an hour and a half in line to get it. The chicken tenders were flavorless and the fries were soggy. Everything we ate was either super dry or flavorless or both.
Waited an hour and a half in line for some cold, mediocre food. They ran out of brisket, got the ribs instead and they were incredibly underwhelming. Cold, dry, sauce is pretty generic barbecue sauce. The soda machine was down even with a soda machine attendant. Not worth your time or money.
Waited 45 minutes in line for Tri Tip, once we get to the end they say "oh yeah we don't have any of that right now". Well okay, it's on the menu, nothing is written anywhere that they didn't have it, and they said they don't put up signs if something is out or they don't have it. So they kind of make you wait almost an hour and then you order something you don't want. Fun.
Appallingly bad food even by theme park standards.. which are already abysmally low. Park was mostly deserted on a Monday after Labor day yet still took 45 mins to have them dish out bbq slop to a line of maybe 50 people cafeteria style. We would have missed the orca show if i hadn't just thrown out the food. The all day dining add-on is absolutely NOT worth it. I bought it mainly to get a drink every hour but could only use in about 3 places that were open and if you have to wait in line 45 mins to get a fountain drink every time you aren't going to be doing much else in the park.
Hands down the worst BBQ I have ever had. Brisket was untrimmed, Sausage was overcooked (like it was left over from yesterday overcooked.) The Chicken was bland .unseasoned and under smoked but obviously oven finnished. quite possibly leftover from the day before as well as it was dry. The trays were wet and staff lied saying they are required by health code to air dry them. Well in air drying you let them sit on a rack until air dried. You don't stack them when wet! Drying with paper towels is acceptable. The stacking of wet dishes is not, that promotes bacterial growth. No Serve Safe certificates to be seen!!
~$20 or literally 3 pieces of brisket, and some cold waffle fries. The macaroni and cheese was burnt and had flecks of char all throughout it. An extreme rip off. Awful quality. If I could rate it zero stars, I would. In general, SeaWorld's prices are more than what Disneyland charges, and the quality is not even close.
Just like the other reviewer my husband also got food poisoning that day. I have never seen him so sick in my life and it was from one of the combo plates. I had the same thing, but I only picked at it.I stopped when I tasted the watermelon because it had a distinct weird taste. Needless to say it was a bad experience.
Brisket was just ok... Lots of fat and kinda dry. Chicken was a joke as far are size goes. It was only 4-5 bites and not even mouthfuls... Just bites. If your going to get something from sea world to eat there are better options for the price.
Visited here a few years ago, food was great. But on this visit i was served cold brisket, frozen fries and flavorless drinks. The only decent thing on my plate was the dinner roll which was small compared to the average roll. Since covid, the experience here has become nothing i would return to. And this is not to mention the abysmally high prices for such low quality service, $21 for 3 cold slices of brisket a pile of frozen fries and a bite sized dinner roll. Will not be returning
1 1/2 hour waiting in line for subpar food. $65 for a piece of chicken, fries and a Caesar salad. They were out of the sides but still charged full price. Horrid service, bland food and absolutely no care for customers getting what they pay for.
What a rip-off. Ridiculously priced for tough fatty meat. Our group tried each of the meats my brother got the wrap and my kids got the nuggets and fries. The only thing that didn't end up in the trash was the nuggets and fries. I highly suggest going somewhere else but if this is your only choice go with the kids meal but the waffle fries were soggy also but edible.
DISGUSTING! The workers! The food! and the place itself was dirty! You get these trays to put your food on and the first 3 trays I saw had remnants of other people's food which is unsanitary and doesn't help the pandemic we have! The workers some of the workers are literally eating the food while they are handing it out to you! The food itself was disgusting- It has to be the worst thing I've ever eaten! I got a brisket and it was undercooked! The cupcakes are dry! WE LITERALLY HAD TO WAIT 2 AND A HALF HOURS IN LINE FOR THIS STUFF! If I could give negative stars believe me I would!
NEVER EATING HERE AGAIN!! Ribs tasted horrible and were tough and chewy. Brisket ok but tasted off. Chicken sold out. Waffle fries were cold. Hot dog, churro, and frozen lemonade for the same price were much better at adjacent place. Or bring in Wendy's in your stroller. Security doesn't check very much.
Super cold. They did not even try to microwave it. Do they own an oven or any kind of heating device? Did they just over to McDonald's and get some chicken nuggets and make them more expensive? Heating plates do not work. Would never eat here again. Other places in the park at least try to make the food warm, but here they did not even try. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Wait time was uncomfortably long for a self-serve restaurant. Got the kids meal since everything else was too expenaive and you could get better food at a school cafeteria.
From the signage, this place looks like it's a nice restaurant, when in actuality it's a very sub par cafeteria run by teenagers who don't have an ounce of customer service training. From the kids doling out the food (because it felt like a soup kitchen) with bad attitudes, earpods and no hair net on this one grimy looking kid with long hair (yuck), to the kid cleaning up the tables like it was his punishment for breaking curfew not to mention the bad food, this was an overall bad experience. Will definitely not return.
The food is absolutely horrific and very expensive. We had the chicken $14) and the macaroni ($9) dishes and I don't think we have ever eaten worse food. The chicken was pink and tasted bad, the macaroni was overcooked, oily,, mushy and unrecognizable. We were starving but just could not stomach the unappetizing , tasteless food. Also, I have to add we are not picky eaters and were raised to appreciate food. Don't ruin your day by spending lots of money on food you cannot eat. Seriously, just move on to another place to eat and enjoy your visit.
Do NOT waste your time at this one, and do NOT get all day dining. This is one of the few places you can get food with the all day dining package. It's not worth it. It doesn't include any of the snack lines, so you have to wait in line for about a solid hour each time you want to eat anything.
Spent $99 for such a small meal. don't come here. My food was honestly poor in quality. I paid borderline $30 for extremely chewy ribs, and $10 for a mid af cheesecake. Their receipt machine was broken without which i couldn't prove my platinum pass discount wasn't entirely added. Their condiment and utensil station looked extremely dirty. To be honest there weren't even utensils there at all. Just don't go here and leave the park for food instead. Or, as the sea world owners don't appreciate.. bring your own snacks and food!
The meat was half-raw and cold. The nuggets were not very good. Prices are overpriced for the quality of the food.
If I could give this place a zero, I would, definitely the worst place I've eaten in San Diego, we purchase 2 salads, these looked as if they were packed wet and the lettuce was turning brown, only 3 croutons and the chicken was just awful, 1 plate of ribs with onion ring, the rings were ok but the ribs were salty and tasteless, 1 plate of the quater chicken, which also was flavorless and left a gassy aftertaste, the only thing that were consumable were the 2 cokes, the bottle of Dasani, the modelo beer and the grapes. I was going to ask for a refund but my wife wanted to avoid the hassle. We ended up just throwing the food away. I would not recommend this place to nobody!.
Genuinely inedible food. Ribs were tougher than beef jerky, bread was uncooked and they have no butter anywhere. Lazy workers wouldn’t even replace ice.
Whoever is in charge of this restaurant probably needs to be fired... I have never seen employees look so miserable to be alive. It look about an hour to get our food from this cafeteria style "restaurant". The food would have been good, but it took so long to get seated everything was cold. Please Corporate, investigate this place. If this is the level of treatment you provide to paying customers, I shudder to think about the animals.
Slow abd dirty. Most utensils were out and absolutely no trays to be found. Food was only be replenished on the right side line, left side got nothing.
rude workers and horrible food that was cold lady was mad for no reason
The only thing thus place has going for it is the atmosphere. The food was disgusting!!!! Meat was so so but the rest was lacking so much flavor. The dressing for salads is in a ketchup packet. The cheesecake tasted like celery. The brownie tasted like one your get out if a box from Walmart. All in all won't eat here next time. It would not kill the people working there to smile once.
I would give this ZERO stars if I could! First of all, it was so expensive for almost nothing. Everyone at my table had uncooked or dry food. The desserts were raw and my chicken nugget was RAW!!! Absolutely awful and not worth it. What a scam.
Food: The food is mediocre and pricy for what you get. The ribs I got were mostly bone and no meat. Service: All the food, desserts, and fountain drinks are similar to a buffet system. You grab what you want and pay for it at the counter. The food is pre-prepared and is left in the open so beware of files and such. Many of the workers look miserable and just want to get you in then out. Atmosphere: Getting food from inside is a bit claustrophobic, especially when the place is busy. It was not very clean, inside or outside. The outdoor seating is okay, there’s plenty of seating. Recommendation: I’d see what others are eating at the restaurant and see if you want that. If not, maybe grab a small bite from the hotdog shack nearby in the park. Otherwise, you’re only real options are outside the park for good food.
Today we had the chicken leg quater and tri tip plates.. good size portion ... the tri tip was extremely SALTY.. couldn't eat it.
This is the designated allergy dining place, yet no seriously gluten free options at all. Everything was definitely mixed up. The price was insane, 3 tiny pieces of watermelon cost $6 and minimal amount of pull pork $15. So just don't go if you have food allergies or hungry.
Do Not buy the dinning deal you will wait hours it is a sea world scam. Any restaurant participating in the program will make you wait two hours to get your order in. Total debacle. Sea world is just not the same as past visits. Just one more disappointment for our day.

Disgusting trays, dirty tables, bland tasteless chicken and beans that were cooked in sugar syrup. Would not recommend.
