I know this place has been around for a while, now, and that I'm late to the party, but I am really falling in Love with Culture Shock–and ESPECIALLY with K.R.U.M.P. I only met them this last year, but I want to give a massive shout-out and words of gratitude to the instructorsTrxnty & Hybrd for ALWAYS, pushing me to better every single time I see them. I'm a bit anti-social, experience a HIGH level of anxiety, I'm an overthinker, and people naturally scare me... but something about each and every individual I meet at Krump feels a little bit like family, and after every session I damn-near feel like the Grinch when his Heart grew 3 sizes too big for his body 😅🤣😭 I have nothing but love for this place, and I wish nothing but blessings and prosperity to any and all Souls who help keep it running. #JUSTKEEPDANCING ❤️🔥🕺
I decided to go way out of my comfort zone for the new year and try the cardio hip hop class. I was so nervous but absolutely LOVED it. Everyone was so welcoming and the atmosphere was so inclusive to anyone with any background or ability. I was a total novice but felt like I picked up on so much. Great music, great instructor and such a fun workout. Perfect for beginners who want to have fun moving. I can’t wait to go back!
This dance studio is spacious with a good mix of experienced and beginner dancers. The atmosphere was welcoming and the music was great to groove to. The instructor kept up the tempo and broke down the choreography in a way that allowed us to get through a whole routine. Definitely felt more confident and got myself the sweaty fulfilling workout I was looking for. Check this place out if you can. ;-)
Incredible place. I'm a new dancer and looking to gain more confidence and this place is so welcoming! Classes are affordable and instructors are friendly. The classes themselves are a breath of fresh air, you walk out of every class feeling amazing. Highly recommend!
Been going to this studio for years! As an active and retired dancer this place has always been welcoming. Always upholds a high standard of instructors and class material. Will keep coming back to this studio whenever I have the itch to dance again.
The hip hop classes are so much fun here! Sean is the absolute best instructor! Always a great vibe, amazing music and great energy in the room.
One of the Best/biggest adult dance studios in san diego with classes of all levels all genres (there are also classes for kids but Review is for adult classes) Hip hop, jazz, jazz funk, tap, Latin and more. Some of my favorites are hip hop with Sean, Jazz funk and House on Friday nights. If you love dance there's something for everyone. Wish i worked close to studio so could go more often ! Class Prices are reasonable $15 for drop in and if you find yourself coming regularly class packages drop those prices even lower. Can't say enough about this place!
There isn't any parking near the place, most people just park at the storage parking lot. The instructors have their own style and the classes and fun with friendly people. Fridays are a steal with classes only $7.50. I like how they have different options for people when it comes to packages and how much you want to commit to paying for a class.
I'm a pretty terrible dancer but I had so much fun at my first Cardio Hip Hop class tonight. The instructor, Richie, was easy to follow and provided a great work out. By the end of the class we knew a full routine - that he broke-down in simple bits over the hour. The other people in the class were of all levels. I bought a punch card afterwards - definitely looking forward to going back!
Took my first class today. It was so much fun! I was a little nervous at first, but the instructor made me pretty comfortable because he was comfortable. Definitely going again!
They have AMAZING Classes for Adults! They aren't just for beginning Adults, there are all levels, which I love! The one thing that really stops me from going to class is having to worry about finding parking. Then because there isn't parking, I just have to go home. So I've driven all the way to the studio, just to have to go back home, because the class I'm going to has already started. If they could please figure out some way to make parking more available. That would make things so much easier!
I dropped in on a cardio Hip Hop class last week and it was such a blast. it's very fast pace, but you go over the steps over and over that you eventually catch on. This particular class had people who where on all levels. I felt that I was terrible at it, but I still had so much fun. I didn't feel embarrassed at my lack of moves, everyone seem to have an encouraging attitude. I do recommend giving yourself at least 15mins to find parking though as it is limited on the street.
I've been going to this wonderful place for the past 5+ years about 2 times a week! It's my favorite way to unwind from the work week and have some good time fun as well as getting a good workout in!!! Never a dull moment!! The best staff EVER!!! XO
The best place to take dance classes of all types. I was in culture shock 20 years ago and I still come here to take classes. I love CS and the vibe here is all love!
Amazing place to learn some dance skills or to just take a fun dance class and burn some carlories. All the teachers are fun and keep up to date with the latest music. Some great names came from this studio.
This place is so much fun. You will always leave with a big smile on your face. They have everything from intro to advanced and a huge selection on dance styles.
I beyond love this Studio!!! I used to be a scholarship student here. The couple that runs this place are wonderful human beings and their instructors are fine and FIERCE
This is such a fantastic spot! There are so many varieties and styles of dancing, every day of the week. The prices are very reasonable, which is nice as it keeps it within reach, though the classes can feel a little big. The rooms are large, well lit, with nice big mirrors to help guide the moves and steps. The only drawback is that parking can be a terrible experience. It's (very limited) street parking for this space and all the other warehouse workout spots on the street. Give yourself plenty of time to park!

Signed my 7 year old up for an 8 week hip hop dance class. She loved it and we loved coming down here! Her instructor was very nice and even though he was typically a bit late I loved the way he spoke to the kids. This studio is open to all ages and are very welcoming to anyone who walks through the door! I want to try a class myself. The only reason I took away one star is because the dance class did not learn a progressive dance - it was a new routine every week. I was not aware of that when signing up and wish that the classes who have the same routine to work on the entire session with a performance at the end.
