Elixir Espresso Bar San Diego Reviews
Obsessed with this place! They not only have good coffee, but they also have a lot of really fun sweet treats and gelato. I finally tried their gelato this weekend (tiramisu) and it was amazing. We also got an affogato that was the perfect afternoon pick me up!
As local Guide I found this place serving such a delicious, fresh, coffee ☕, ice cream, and have a great customer service. Feel free to enjoy your golden time ⌚ out here.
I really like this cafe that I discovered when my kids went to camp next door, at Cool Creations. It was a great option for them to come for lunch and treats. I appreciate a pleasant atmosphere, delicious coffee and wide selection of desserts, as well as the ability to work here. It’s cozy and welcoming. Always great crowd here.
Deuce (my dog) and I have been coming here for a couple of years. The vibe is chill, the crepes are my favorite in PB and they are dog friendly. They have a roomy outdoor covered patio in the back too.
This is why you should go to Elixer Espresso Bar: 1. Plenty of seating. I'm starting with this because I have been in so many coffee shops where you order a drink and there is no place to enjoy it if you want to have it in the shop. This shop has you covered. 2. Gluten-free food is available here. Even donuts in numerous flavors. 3. The coffee is great! I enjoyed the latte that I had this morning. Would definitely recommend and I plan to go back. Well worth it! 4. Really fun atmosphere and kind staff. Would definitely recommend. Check out my pictures to get a sense of the space.
Service was amazing. Sophie and Grace went above and beyond making us feel welcome. Crepes were awesome. We had the Yummy crepe with Nutella on the side. Yes please!!! Avocado toast was super fresh and the coffee was perfect. Sorry, no photos. Ate everything too fast!
By far my favorite coffee shop in pacific beach! The ambience is just as wonderful as their coffee/food. The breakfast crepe and gluten free donuts are to die for. 10/10 recommend. They also have a beautiful location in La Jolla!
Cozy and clean coffee shop with great breakfast options. The latte and cafe Viennese were very good, the raspberry white chocolate one is definitely on the sweeter end. Lots of seating options.
Elixir Coffee Shop in Pacific Beach is a heaven, a perfect blend of relaxation and indulgence, offering expertly crafted lattes, delectable pastries, and crepes that ignite a sense of wonder and bliss, inspiring you to unwind and savor every moment.
So chic and chill! I genuinely love every corner and the layout here. You could pretty much find a spot for anything: chill, intimacy, group chat, eatery, corner, sun, hustle, cozy. They even put a swing by the counter. Staff were friendly too. Parking is easy in the neighborhood. There are two large plazas and plenty of street parking.
Great pastries and chill vibes. Good coffee and tons of seating and WiFi. Excellent spot.
Elixir is for the diehard espresso drinker. Their proprietary coffee, Screaming Goat, is one of the best that San Diego has to offer and I've tried them all. My kids enjoy the crepes and pastries here as well. Amazing ambiance with beautiful decor. This cafe is a must in Pacific Beach or La Jolla.
We wandered into this beautiful cafe after having lunch at the PB Fish Shoppe next door. I was delighted they had so many gluten free goodies. They have traditional pastries also. The chai latte was exceptional and the little GF chocolate mousse cake was amazing. The ambience is cool, modern, but also cozy. Will be coming back for sure!
Surprisingly spacious with several different areas of seating, including the outdoor patio. Very nice staff. Great coffee.
Finally !!!! PB got lucky. This place is truly top notch. I love their espresso drinks and their food delicious. Wonderful ambience. Great service to boot. I keep coming back.
A truly amazing spot for coffee, desserts/pastries, and the most delicious crepes. Their espresso-based drinks are far and away the best in the area. So glad this location opened up in addition to the La Jolla store. I’ve stopped by 75 + coffee shops since coming to S.D. and Elixir hangs with the best of them. Beautiful and calm inside. Back patio is quiet and tucked away making a good writing or study spot. Owners and staff are all super friendly and personable. Stop by and I bet you’ll be back 👍 ☕️.

A wonderful coffee shop with great treats and staff! I really enjoy going here when I have the day off or before work. Many good spaces to work and beautiful artwork in the walls!
Clean and nice store with great ambiance, but unfortunately the coffee doesn’t live up to the look or the posted pictures by the store. It’s a perfect average coffee. They have a big selection of pastries that look good, but didn’t try any. You might have better luck with those.

Don’t get to try the place since I wanted ceremonial grade matcha with they don’t have but the pastries looked fire and the place is super cute
Heard great things about this place and finally stopped by — it didn’t disappoint! There’s plenty of indoor seating, which is perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. Street parking is a bit limited, so plan ahead if you're driving. We ordered the iced caramel and vanilla lattes — both were smooth and refreshing. Also tried the Velvet Knot and chocolate mousse pastries. Not only were they beautifully presented, but they tasted just as amazing as they looked. A lovely spot for coffee and dessert!

I had seen the images of the Almond Butter Toast, which was hard to resist. Regrettably, the experience didn't live up to the expectation. I found the cappuccino to be in the bitter side. The presentation lacked any degree of mastery, the consistency texture While the avocado toast looked amazing, I found it to error in the bland side. Overall it would have benefited from some Cavinders, Slap Ya Momma, or similar seasoning depending on your pallet. There are a number of coffee shops in Pacific Beach to choose from. In this situation Elixir is a pass and move on per my estimation

Elixir Espresso Bar was a disappointing experience, to say the least. As someone who appreciates quality coffee and pastries, I was thoroughly unimpressed with what I received. The cortado I ordered was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The espresso lacked depth and balance, and the oat milk was poorly steamed, resulting in a drink that was neither smooth nor enjoyable. While the café offers a variety of gluten-free pastries, the ones containing gluten were notably low quality. The apple Danish I tried was made with subpar ingredients, leaving an unpleasant, greasy residue on my teeth. The filling lacked the fresh, natural flavor you’d expect from a well-made pastry. Overall, the experience fell far short of expectations, especially for a place that positions itself as a specialty coffee and pastry bar. I would not recommend Elixir Espresso Bar to anyone seeking a refined coffee or pastry experience. There are far better options in the area.
